App with device administrator privilege not working as it should? - Xiaomi Mi 9 Questions & Answers

Hey there guys I have this strange issue, I am using this particular web filter app called Truple on the play store and it requires device adminstrator privileges so you can't uninstall the app easily, but the issue is that all I need to do is press force stop on the app dashboard and it stops the filter from working completely.
I have asked the developer of the app about this and he says on stock Android the force stop button will be greyed out when you give the app administrator privileges so you cannot press it but it seems isn't the case on MIUI as even though the app has administrator privileges I can still press force stop.
Does anyone know why this is or even how I can make it so that the force stop button will be inaccessible or do you think it is an issue with the app itself or MIUI?
Any feedback will be appreciated guys thank you

Unable to install non-market apps

I have a stock Bionic and lately I'm having an issue where I can no longer install non-market apps such as the Amazon app store. I do have the option checked to allow non-market apps in the settings and I've tried toggling it as well. When I try to do the install it goes to the package installer screen where it shows the required permissions and prompts you to press install or cancel. When I press install nothing happens, no error messages or anything, it just stays on the package installer screen. I had this same issue recently when installing apps from the Amazon app store and reinstalling the app store seemed to fix the issue, but tonight after I removed the app store I wasn't able to reinstall it. Any suggestions?
The only thing out of the ordinary I can think of that might be related is that I typically purchase each daily Amazon free app, and I let it download but I don't always install them. Not sure if that's causing some type of issue with a buildup of pending apps in the install queue or what.
I'm able to install Market apps with no problem. Thx!

I found out the issue was being caused by the app "Screen Filter." I use it at night because even at the lowest brightness the screen is too bright for me. As soon as I disabled the filter I was able to install apps again - weird eh? Anyone use a similar app to dim their screen that doesn't have these side effects?

Wow!!! I was having the same issue and by searching the forum I found this thread, and was able to fix the problem by toggling my screen filter off....so weird, but think you so much!!!

How to remove this adware / virus

I've tried Google but it didn't work so basically I was downloading stuff from the internet and one of them must've had some nasty virus cause now every single time I unlock my phone I get this name-less app that pops up with this virus notification (how ironic). So I tap the menu key to bring up app switcher and the app is name-less with a white theme. So I go into the Smart Manager and check the RAM to see what information I can get but it doesn't appear there. So I go to the settings app, Application manager > Running and the very first thing, taking up like 66MB of RAM was that ad app. So I tap it and the uninstall button is greyed out! So I tap "stop" to stop the app and it finally goes away (I had the app open in that small window and it disappeared after tapping "STOP"). By go away I mean it probably just got temporarily stopped or it's frozen but if I go into the "all" tab, the first thing is this nameless ad app. 6.50MB storage used, version 1.0 . The permissions basically say it's got control of my SD card and full network access, nothing else. I don't trust it at all to not have root access but I don't think SU asked me anything about root other than file explorers and Kernel apps (was trying to find a way to overclock for fun)
tl;dr There's a nameless app that shows a fullscreen ad saying I got a virus and the uninstall button is greyed out.
I got root so is there a way of finding the location of the relevant files in ES File Explorer and deleting them maybe?
Download Samsung Package Disabler and you should be able to disable the app. Or you can try Titanium Backup and freeze the app and possibly uninstall it.

Simply factory reset, it is way better than finding the app. Format storage, then re install the rom. It will sure wiping the virus.

Do you have SuperSU set to grant or prompt? If it's set to grant, apps won't show up, at least I've noticed on my S7. Only time apps show up is if SuperSU is set to prompt, and then I launch an app and either grant or deny the app in the prompt. You don't manually add apps to SuperSU, at least not that I'm aware of.

Impossible to manually add app to Whitelist SuperSU-Pro?
I have SuperSU pro and another app (DU Battery Saver pro) Which I need to manually whitelist in Super SU to unlock a feature that will save alot of power by lowering cpu frequency and voltage when screen locked and when phone idle. Frustrated at how poor app design is making it impossible to manually add any app to SuperSU Whitelist. The good news is I managed to get a refund from Google after feeling ripped off for paying for a defective app which I think has something to do with poor user interface for devices which have no menu button soft key and touch only interface. After complaining to Google Play (who have a great refund policy).Well Done!? Real Crappy Job Guys. Will probably be forced to find another solution while you continue to lose revenue and customers as you casually ignore them on Google Play and XDA Forums. NXA! MxM SMH WTF!. Guys please lets be serious.
I'm guessing that the suggestions above are now out of date with the current version of SuperSU. The grant/deny/prompt option is attached to each individual app in SuperSU on my device. Perhaps, it was once a global setting but it isn't now. You have to have an app show up first before you can set it for grant, deny, or prompt.
I do have some apps shown in SuperSU. The problem is that one of the ones I want (Termux) is not there and I have yet to figure a way to add it. So, obviously, setting to prompt does not solve the problem for me.

How to prevent an app from kill

I am using an app of floating Back Button for my ease. That app uses accessibility feature to observe my action of course. But when ever i clear my recent apps, this app also killed. I would have to reopen it, give again permission of Accessibility to make it work.
Even if i dont kill the app at Recent app still system kill it after 1 hour.
Use different apps for back button but result is same. Any guide would be appreciated. Thanx in advance.. Waiting...

Hi,
Usually needs root, if you have root use fng navbar. If no root, use Samsungs one hand operation + app and you get option to close app, that kills it.
Batman for the win
Thank you that is great I did not know the app was capable of doing this I had to create a tasker script to long hold the back button for 3 seconds to kill it but I've got to run it in ADB Wi-Fi command every time I reboot my phone so the task has enough permissions to run.
