Not to be offensive, but what's so grea about the gcam?

Its about versatility having an alternate option too, and mostly depends on device for instance on some devices gcam outperformed stock app while on some not so much, if gcam is fully functional which is a lot to ask Night Sight on gcam is just superb
As for OP's Question I'd say your best bet is S10+ gcam depending on ur SOC exynos or SD mattered before not sure about newer ones

Pixel Gcam?

Is this not working on the 5G?
Works great on S10E and S10+
Miss the night mode!
Working fine on mine. Using the latest on the list - Gcam_6.2.024_Advanced_V2.0.190420.0415 from here:

Using the same version on 5G as well but have issues. Open GCam and viewfinder would freeze for 5 seconds before unfreeze and Night Sight just give me a black viewfinder. Did you change any settings in the setting?

Just use the GCam version for S10e, S10, and S10+. I’ve even used GCam for Note 9 on my Snapdragon 5G on trip to Japan.
I don't have the phone yet and that's why I'm asking in advance. I am not too much a fan of Samsung's heavy handed noise reduction at all ISO levels, so that's why I'm looking for an alternative
Also the answer doesn't addrsss my question regarding if GCAM uses all cameras or if it crops from the normal to make a telephoto view, for instance.

Ahh, I already forgot how it was on my 5G because I returned that to Samsung. I remember later GCam releases say they get the telephoto lens working. The Note 9 version on 5G don’t have that capability I think.
Hi , is there a fully working one for the s10 5g as the ones i have tried all seem to have issues or is it because i have not done some changes ? if anyone could link me to a fully working one that would be great

Seems this forum is rather silent but has any a80 users tried a gcam?
It's the same sensor as the OP7 pro, zenfone 6 etc so hopeful someone has had some luck

Just got the phone today and I'm using this GCAM port, for the S10 https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1395089523397913303 it seems to work fine, haven't done any test, just a quick pic and it does seem better quality over the stock Samsung.
I've been using it for about 4 hours and the camera does not fully turn every time, most times it does, but I've had that happen a few times already, where it almost flips all the way to selfie mode, but stops at about 80% of the flip. Interested to know if this is common, I've seen a Youtuber with this issue as well, so just wondering if it's "normal" or not.

Had a bit more time to test it out and wow, GCam for the win, the difference is massive in low light, stock camera is very noisy, GCam, clean pic, makes this a great camera phone now.

The latest Gcam based on the Pixel 4's sensor works much better. I spent a lot of time trying and getting the best out of this sensor. Might compare it to the iP11Pro soon.

can you pm me a link to which one your using? thanks
My friend @Xtergo can you give as a link for the Pixel 4 version you mentioned before?
already tried bsg arnova version & it's much better than stock in normal or portrait conditions but there's still missing features like live mode who give us actual bokeh effect. as far my experience gcam still lack on response time to open up / switching between mode camera maybe many more must be fixed considering that there has not been ported special for this device
Urynox Google Camera 7 for Samsung Galaxy A80
Almost all modes work
Hi guys, a have running Gcam for A70 (downloaded from same forum) in my A80 without problems its very good the Android 10 version, all right.

Question S21U exynos Gcam

Can anyone help me with gcam for exynos, ive tried many ports but cant seem to find a good config or a port that i can use all lenses of my camera.
If someone could help me that'd be great
Samsung's stock cam is good but everytime i get close to an object it just switches to ultra wide and ruins the whole pic, and i think the tele lenses could improve alot more.
With Exynos there's no way to use the telephotos in GCam without rooting and replacing lib files

Question S22U camera app port possible?

It seems that the S22 Ultra use a lot of the same stuff like lenses, maybe the whole camera setup. So we dont know, if they improve software AI and we also dont know, if that really requires Exynos 2200 or SD8 Gen1.
In the past, there were many things ported from newer models to older models. Even GCAM get a port.
Im interested into the updated camera app from the S22U because of 108MP enhancer mode and less noice in video.
Do you think it is possible and someone will do?
I use the unofficial ExpertRAW heavily and in my opinion it can improve image quality a lot. As long as nobody compare ExpertRAW from both phones, I doubt there will be much hardware upgrades in camera Departement.

+1, I've been wondering about the same as well, back when I owned an S8+, I remember getting rom ports of the note 8 alongside which you would get the new camera app as well
I know getting the entire rom ported over to the phone, only the camera app should be sufficient here since software updates pretty much bridge any and all difference between phones except for specific apps, like the camera
S22 runs on oneui 4.1, we are on 4.0 probably some of the new features will be available for us once we get an update. To be honest I would wait till that and then see if there is anything "missing".
Probably samsung will restrict something for newest device, but there is a chance that we will get nearly everything as the hardware should not be an issue.
The improvements on main camera seems impossible to port on 21U for the isp on snapdragon 888 can't take one photo in 108MP mode and 12MP mode at the same time which is available on snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

Question Camera quality

So I've purchased mi11 Ultra lately. I hoped to get an excellent camera phone. Waiting for my bootloader to get unlocked and in the meantime was going through all the useful threads. I wanted to jump to A13 using some custom room but I'm bit confused with the camera issues. From what I understand there is no working miui cam for A13 and so I was wondering weather there is a moded gcam that actually works on A13 and is at least as good as miui cam?
I went to A13 and tried a shedload of gcam ports and configs over two weeks on my MI11 Pro.
I ended up going back to an A12 ROM, for the MIUI Camera (EvolutionX by FlowerSea) - much better, more flexible and easy to use with the multiple camera modules.
Also, as it seems to be the quickest and most stable with banking apps, GPay/Wallet and AndroidAuto wireless.
Other people may disagree though.
I liked the HDR and sharpening that GCam would give, but in all honestly the native camera functions and features always seemed to be more consistent. Go with what you feel! Pick the camera that'll give you the best pictures and functions you're looking for.
