Should I buy a brand new Note 8 FD version in 08 2020? - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

Greetings,
I want to buy a new phone. I am coming from Xiaomi world. I am not a gamer. I use it mainly for reading (online, e-books), youtube videos and some photography during my hiking trips (which are getting rare due to covid-19).
I would like to buy either Note 8 or Note 9 FD version phone from Aliexpress since they are now getting a bit cheaper. I've tried Xiaomi 9s and I wasn't impressed with the display dimness, battery life and overall quality etc. considering I am paying close to 200 euros.
I would like to pay a bit more to get a solid phone with stylus. For Note 8 I will also buy an external battery (I don't mind the bulk) to equalize or better the battery life on the phone.
My questions to you Samsung Note owners are:
1. Which version of the phone has better chances from XDA community to get Android 10 and/or 11 support for Custom ROMs.
2. In your opinion in 2020 if you were offered this phone under 300 euros, would you still buy it?
3. Any quirks, advice you would like to share with a newbie like myself.
4. For another 100 euros extra I can also get Note 9 FD version, aside from the stereo speakers, slightly better display brightness, slightly bigger battery (I will negate that with external battery case), should I buy note 9?
Many thanks in advance for any help or comments

The Note 9 would be the way to go and it answers all of your questions.. If you can afford the Note 9 it's better to get that versus the Note 8 which is no longer getting any updates anymore!

I agree with MrMike, although the Note 8 is still a great phone imo, if your budget can stretch to a Note 9 you should get that.
I am sure there will be many videos on YouTube comparing the Notes against each other, which may help you make the decision.

In 2020, I'd buy a Note 10 (not even a Note 9). My only reason for a Note 9 over the Note 8, is the latest software update (not the bluettoth S Pen). Give it a few months before the Note 9 no longer gets software updates.
I actually have the cash to buy a Note 10 right now, but I can't find a fault with my Note 8 other than the lack of the latest variant of Android. I still wouldn't buy another Note 8 in 2020, but would have done so in 2019.

Get a note 9 if possible.... You ll get better battery, performance and updates. And there shouldn't be much of a price diff.... Just make sure u get a good piece. Some people are selling repaired ones.... With parts from diff models..... All the best

Thanks everyone. I think I will be getting the new M31s unless there is a significant price drop on Note 10 lite after Monday's S20 note announcement. I was looking for a cheap Amoled phone hence note 8 but learned of M31s about 220 euro price for 6GB RAM and I think for what I do with the phone and longer battery life this one fits my budget perfectly. Cheers

Is note 8 worth it in 2018(July)

So simple question is note 8 would be worth it i am upgrading from my old s5 or should i wait for note 9 or s10
From S5 coming, e.g. note 4 it's worth to upgrade,too. [emoji28]
If you have enough time, you also can wait for note 11 or S12. they will be even better
The note 8 it's an "up to date" high performance device. But in the smartphone section a 1 year old device is an old device .......*crazy world*.
If you have enough money for a few new features and want an 1 year more up to date device, wait for the upcoming devices.
Every new coming device will be a little bit more faster or better as the predecessor model........ every year!

But how should we know if you should wait for the note 9 or s10 ? We don't know what you want or need. All we know till now are rumors, nobody knows how the end product will be. So you can check those rumors yourself. And for the note 8 there are tons of reviews out there, so be sure to check them out too and decide what you need or want. It's really pointless that we discuss here what is already all over the web. Just my opinion.

I recently bought a Note 8 as it was an amazing price. Dual sim, 64gb midnight black colour, only 540 EURO, brand new. Considering it cost almost double that when released, it was amazing value. 95% as fast as a Note 9. You can see on Youtube the speed test, even faster than iphone X in most cases.
Note 8 with the Exynos processor is a BEAST. If you can purchase the Note 8 for a good amount, go and buy one. You won't be dissapointed. It is VERY fast especially with a custom kernel and rom.

I was forced to upgrade from my Note 4 N910C to the Note 8 N950N with 256GB of internal storage a few months ago, and I have to say that is probably my best purchase of this year! As my N950N is a beast of a device and will run anything without any issues whatsoever. The camera takes excellent shots, which are just as good as those taken on my N910C.
I would definitely wait for the Note 9
Much better battery life expected with the 4000 mah battery.
Also a few nice tricks with the S pen.
You would regret your purchase if you end up buying the Note 8 especially when the 9 is just around the corner

You should absolutely buy it... It's a one time investment phone from my perspective.. It has everything you need in a premium phone... (telling you after using it for 8months)

Pure speculation. You don't know the Note9 will have a 4000mah battery or even what new features the S-Pen will have.
I think the Note8 is the best device I've ever had and probably will be for a while to come. I doubt the Note9 will offer anything of worth to me.
I'd wait to see a couple of price-points about the Note 9 first. The first one is obviously phone's cost. It's likely to be 1K. Is that worth it for the dual speakers and larger battery? Bear in mind screen is bigger and brighter so I'd be wary to assume battery life will be significantly better.
Then there is that upgraded pen. OK it's got bluetooth in it. But how much is that going to cost to replace now? At least with the N8 you can use N7 pens and they are relatively cheap.

If you could put up with the satisfactory Battery Life and the lack of dual speakers , this device is definitely worth your money !!
If you can afford to wait, then kindly do wait and check the Note 9 before making the final decision as the announce date for Note 9 is less than a month away.
Cheers !!

Someone is cut haha.
I had the Note 8 and returned it as it had poor battery and wasn't fluid due to touchwiz. I wouldn't give more than 500 to 600 for the Note 8 especially when you know the Note 9 is out in a couple of weeks. You will regret purchasing the Note 8 for sure.
Wait for the Note 9 aa it will have great internal upgrades making it worth while.
The Note 8 has a 3300mah battery which is a laugh on its own on a phone with 6.3 inch display.
I suggest you wait and make the ideal purchase

You are missing the point.
Most people buy the Note range over the Samsung S series for the added benefit S pen, bigger screen and business usage.
In other words it should last much longer than others
im also going to probably buy a exynos note 8 tomorrow. i have a s9 plus but the battery life is pretty terrible and there at least root for the note 8.
According to all phone companies it's worth the upgrade no matter the year shut up and give them your money lol

Will you update to the Note 9?

Samsung is going to host an unpack at NYC Aug 9th 2018,
since we missed the note 7, did not update to note 8, how about note 9?
Hi, i still have my N920C Note 5 running totally fine on Extreme Debloated ROM 3.3 since a few years now as my daily driver. I am still unsure about any major improvements to spend/waste cash and ditch my Note 5 for a newer one. However, i wish that there was a newer version of my current ROM since i'm stuck on Android 6.0 (i don't think the other ROMs are better to be honest, especially on the battery) but like i said, it's all working fine. I can still take some nice pictures and videos on Auto mode. I watched a video review by MKBHD and wasn't particularly impressed by the Note 9.
For those who are interested in the latest Note, i would advise to just wait a bit for real world usage reviews to start coming in. Don't rush to purchase something which has failed spectacularly in the past with the Note 7.
No, you'd have to be an idiot to fork up to a Samsung phone knowing that they won't support it for very long.
You're better off buying Xiaomi phones on a regular basis, for a fraction of the cost. Furthermore, becuase they use modern - medium/high end hardware, your battery lasts longer.
Samsung needs to step up their game. They don't deserve the level of trust the brand implies.
In comparison I did borrow a Xiaomi Note 5 Plus for a month ($154usd), it was significantly faster than my note 5, had Android 8.0, 10 hrs screen on time and easily 4-7+ days with quite regular usage. I don't often even get 1 anymore, depending on how I use the note 5. Our device sucks and we do not have any active rom support what so ever. All of our updates now revolve around Google's monthly security patches.

4 to 7 day battery life, 10 hours of screen on time. /r/thathappened
The Xiaomi Note 5 Plus is worse in every aspect compared to the Note 5 besides modern Android support.
Seems like you bought the Note 5 for the wrong reasons.
I guess I value higher quality components over having a newer version of Android.
Got mine on order
Can't wait for root for it
in my country
note 5 $11.000
note 8 $38.000
note 9 $50.000??
where a salary avg is around $25.000, love samsung, but their prices are very high! samsung is a mother fu*k*#$ crazy!
I won't get one. I love my Note FE. Am on Oreo. Just the right size. The Note 9 is too big!
You must be crazy to invest again on Samsung.
Note 5 was my personal lesson in order to blacklist this company which doesn't respect me as a customer.
You cannot ask your customers to pay a premium price and then abandon them like this...
The company I work gave me the S9+ within the bonus list. Didn't even open the box and sold it with no regrets.
Furthermore Samsung is not leading technology in android anymore.
Want to get the best camera in the market , Samsung is not the option.
Want the best speed in the market , Samsung is not the option.
Want the best battery in the market , Samsung is not the option.
Want the best price/performance ratio , Samsung is not the option.
Want the best android update support , Samsung is not the option.
Want any combination of the above , Samsung is not an option...
NEVER AGAIN Samsung.

note 9 or p20 pro.. which is the best option?

Hi guys
Actually I use a galaxy note 8 but in September. I need to change it because expire the rent signature.
So, I'm looking for a new smartphone.. And the 2 smartphone that I found are note. 9 or p20. Pro..
It's true that are 2 different product.. And the p20 has not the spen.. But I don't use the s pen top much..for work I started to use a iPad with the apple pencil and I think is better for my use.. The display is bigger than a smartphone display...
So, if I forget the spen functionality.. What is your suggestion? P20 is cheaper (not too much) and his camera is better.
Otherwise, I'm started to use galaxy series or note series 8 years ago, the first one was galaxy s1.... Actually the UI for me is easy to use...I'm scared I loose some function with the p20..
Can you give me your consideration?
Thanks
Sam
this is like asking in the huawei forum whether the note 9 is better...
Yes I know.. But if someone need to compare this 2 device, where must ask the question?
If you're used to the Samsung UI, the Huawei EMUI will definitely be quite different. Especially in terms of how it handles battery management and memory optimization, as well as maybe the lock screen notifications. My friend does have a P20 Pro while I use the Note 9, having switched from the S8.
I will tell you right away, if you want better battery life get the P20 Pro.
If you want the better camera, it's honestly a toss-up. In true real world experience, the P20 Pro's camera is not quite the home run critics make it out to be, there were some scenes where even my year old Galaxy S8 could beat the P20 Pro.
If you want the better display there's no question about it get the Galaxy Note 9 it's not only bigger it doesn't have a notch and well it's a Samsung OLED display enough said.
The real question of the Galaxy Note 9 is, how much are you willing to pay for the S Pen, and Samsung's slightly less offensive software. My advice is try to shop around for a P20 pro deal, as it's been out for a while now. If you can get it for significantly less than the Note, buy that. If the prices are within $100 of each other, get the Note. If you can wait, wait for the Mate 20 to release and see how that looks; even if you don't like it, both the Note and the P20 are bound to be cheaper by then.
Oddly enough, the battery test videos show the Note 9 quite superior to the P20. Not sure what is better because I don't buy off brand phones so I have no experience with them.
Lol, P20 Pro's camera is not better. It just has more lenses. If you DO like taking black and white pictures, go for Huawei. If you like functionality, SAME CAMERA PERFORMANCE, S-pen and overall performance, go for samsung. I used to have Iphone 8+, now i own Note 9. I dont feel any different in terms of performance.
I just sold my p20 pro that I've had for two months, my note 9 is coming tomorrow so I can't compare the two (I did have the note 8 and s9 for a while though) but I can tell you some things about the p20.
The camera has been advertised extremely well, and it is great in low light BUT in real world point and shoot situations it's trash in my opinion. I haven't taken one photo on it that I like, all the photos I have taken on auto are over processed and over sharpened. Any Samsung phone I've ever used has always had a fantastic point and shoot camera.
The EMUI no matter what anyone tells you is clunky and just not enjoyable to use. I feel like the new and improved Samsung experience UI is really smooth and easy to use in comparison. I'm aware you can use launchers and stuff but I prefer to keep the stock launcher.
Although the p20 is advertised as having a 4000mah battery I haven't had a great experience with it. This differs from person to person and usage but I really can't get a full day out of it.
I know it might seem like I'm bashing the phone I have enjoyed some aspects of it, but my note 9 is coming tomorrow and I cannot wait to get my hands on it.
Thanks a lot guys for your really apprecied feedback!
I read your opinion and I thin, again, that my new smartphone will. Be again a note!
Sure, I think the difference respect the note 8 will be not so much, but as I explained, in September expire the relationship with my carrier and I must change the smartphone, and buy a note 8 is not convenient.
Actually in italy the street price of the p20 pro is 700 euroin European version, online.. The Italian versione is slightly expensive, approx 800 euros..
The note 9 will sold 1029 euro, so the difference is 250/350euro,but I can subscribe, is a newest in italy, a subscription with Samsung. I can pay monthly the device for 24 months, with 99 euro of first payment, and obtain a note 9.afyerthis period, I can pay approx 300 euros and the device will be mine, otherwise, I can replace it with a new one..
At the end, I will pay more than 1029 euros but for 24 yeast I have a protection against damage included, and is not a bad things..
P20 pro has not this option, in italy is sold or as a usual with carrier or I must pay it 100%.
About ghe performance...i really stress my smartphone.. I use it for job, I take note during some. Meeting, I use it via chrome cast to watch movies by Netflix or similar, and the integrated dex station function can be a good features (but also the p20 has. This option)
I use also it with camera, because I have 2 children and is always a good. Thing have in my hand a good camere to capture the nice moment of the day.. And this is a good point.. I was sure that the people like the p20 pro camera. Much more than the other. Camera phone, but your real feedback explain a different situation.. I'm not a professional camera man, I need a best camera with automatic setting for this moment, and if you are agree that also the note 9 can be better, this is another good point for note 9.
Finally... The UI powered by Samsung is without secrets for me after a lot of years.. Also, last but not least, when I configure the new device automatically I found saved wifi Hotspot, password and other small information that help me during my Business, and I reduce the stress to replace a new device
Th AK a lot again guys for your explanation.
Ot: somebody with the note 9 can give me a feedback about dex application, in particular for Netflix and autocad application? I think can be 2 real interesting application respect surfing on internet or other solutions
Sam

In what ways if you don't mind me asking? I got my note 9 this morning and I am so happy I don't have to use the p20 pro anymore!
@Popmonty battery capacity (sot +40%) and flat screen at start (this rounded screen are totaly pointless for me, expecially on a note series where 10% on screen is useless with pen)! Than, mate 10 pro had stereo sound (note 8 not), much faster (and better positioned) fingerprint, 128gb etc.
On a note 8 side was wireless charging and 3.5mm.
Now in note 9 a lot of things are improved; stereo sound (but still mono for notification except whatsupp app), 128gb base memory, bigger screen and 4000mAh...but who knows what new mate will bring near new kirin 980 and wireless charging. I would wait 2 more months if there is possibility...if nothing, note 9 will be much cheaper in 2 months
Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
P20 pro still uses bluetooth 4.2 while others started with 5.0 like last year? It doesn't matter if I need it or not. For a flagship price it needs to provide flagship specs. Huawei has been known for this kind of **** behind the scene. Who knows what else has been cheaped out on.
Regarding the mate 20 pro... It was also for me a good option.. But I need to finalize the order max in the first week of October because I have to finalize the contract signed with phone operator.. I must return the note 8 otherwise I have to pay another year.. But the cost is similar to buy another one new phone so I will return it.
For this reason I think is not an option for me wait the new mate 20 pro.
Regarding the performance of p20... There are 2 important thing that are not installed in this device.. The 3.5 jack and And the wireless charging... For my personal use the first one is good because in the night in some case I use wired earphone too watch some movies in my bed when my wife sleep.. Are comfortable and I don't want rememberto charge a Bluetooth earphone.. I have the gear icon x of Samsung and I use this only for fitness... And a lot of case are discharge.
The wireless charge instead is good because I have in my office the wireless stand and is confortante charge my mobile while I'm in the office..
Sincerely, I don't know why in the p20 pro there is not at least this option... In fact I read will be integrated with the new mate 20
I would definitely recommend for you to wait and see what the Mate 20 Pro will offer. I am expecting a fairly good phone from Huawei. They have made a few videos targeting the Note 9 so I'm guessed they have something up their sleeves. Also it will have a bigger battery than the Note 9 and also a more efficient SOC being the new Kirin 980 developed on a new 7mn architecture
Only (huge) problem from my POV is that Huawei does not allow unlocking of Bootloaders anymore - so cannot Root or install custom ROMs on Huawei devices - I hope this changes soon.
This factor alone tips it towards the Note 9 for me. Now patiently waiting for a decent price drop - hopefully by November/ holiday period.

I suggest, with respect, you don't make any purchase based on reviews or forum posts for anything you purchase from mobiles to socks. We all differ and it comes down to what your needs are rather than what you want or others suggest.

Ciao Ryland
Sure, I don't purchase note 9nkr hauwei depending of. The forum. Review, I already found this 2 device after personal. Consideration, also I have already the galaxy note 8, so I know the device.
Because are 2 really interesting phone, and because I use for job and personal use the camera, I just ask the opinion of the other person of the forum, because for example test the camera is impossible and I can only as ask a feedback from somebody that already tried both.
For this reason after some consideration read here in this thread I take the decision to buy the note 9 and I wrote this comment... Because some users told me a feedback regarding a feature that I can't test myself.. Sure I must believe to this person.. But I think also this is the spirit of the forums, no?
huawei's software is trash (and with that locked bootloader stuff u cant even flash custom roms lol), that alone is enough for me to not buy a huawei phone

Rooting is a waste of time in this day and age. If you need to root a phone you are a million miles from a typical user.
The P20 pro is not as good as the Note 9 I would agree, but the software is fine, as is the Note software.
If you need to root then get a Nexus 5 or something.
With regards to the rest of this thread, for me the pros and cons are:
Note : Faster, Slightly better screen, Headphone Jack
P20 Pro : Better/ Louder sounding speakers, Much better camera in ALL scenarios barring indoor low light. Less noise, better zoom, better overall quality, much better low light.
I have both phones right now, and honestly if the P20 pro had better video recording and was a little less laggy on graphics intensive stuff, I would use it as my main phone. BUT the note 9 is a more polished phone and is better in almost all ways barring speakers and photos.

The P20 pro is not as good as the Note 9 I would agree, but the software is fine, as is the Note software.

im not talking about rooting at all, im just talking about ROM's in general. Huawei's stock rom is trash, while the samsung one has become very good over the years.

Worth upgrading from Galaxy Note 8?

I wonder if any of you broke your Galaxy Note 8 contract to get a Galaxy Note 9 or switched from a Galaxy Note 8?
Is the Galaxy Note 9 worth the switch?
Yeah, for me, definitely. Battery life is much better. That was a deal breaker for me on the Note 8. I really wanted to get 2 years out of it but my experience as regards battery life was really frustrating.

I have both among other brands and imho if you have a Note 8 and you are happy with it just keep it. One of the things that I enjoy the most about the 8 when compared to the 9 is the thickness or the lack of it for that matter, everything else could be considered software differences and they will both get the Android Pie next year allegedly. Then again opinions vary and I am pretty sure we do have a lot of owners here that could probably pitch in with more info......
I have both. I like N8 as it has root up to the 3rd bootloader version and is just an amazing device. My N9 for me doesn't need root..great battery usually get 7 to 8hrs screen time..amazing camera..dual bluetooth..fingerprint scanner better position..no lag after constant heavy use. But just like above post mentioned to each his own, Note 8 is a great device, just comes down to the user and what they want. Me I would say yes, but I wouldn't get rid of Note 8 to get one. I was lucky and had another upgrade so was able to do that but I understand for some that is not an option.
NOTE 9
The Note 9 is an outstanding device, coming from the N8 however there are only a few things that scream yes. It just depends on if these are worth anything to you?
1)Better Fingerprint Location
2)512gb available Storage option
3)8gb Ran Option
4)Better Battery life
5)if you like the bluetooth S-Pen features.
It's a refinement on the Note 8 and done well, Samsung were never ever going to implement golden features to the Note 9 (Eg UD scanner ect) with the 10th Anniversary next year.
This also brings into question, perhaps hold off for the S10 and if you can even the Note 10.
However I can say the Note 9 is an absolute joy to use.....:good:
I have both. My 128GB Note 9 is my primary, though on e my 512GB Note 9 gets here tomorrow, it will be my primary. My Note 8 is my backup.
Honestly, there's very little difference between the two as far as everyday useage. The battery life on the Note 9 is better, but I never had a problem with the battery life on my Note 8. The Bluetooth features on the SPen are cool, but not a deal maker.
Don't listen to anyone about fingerprint sensor location. If you have a Note 8, you know as well as I do that you got used to the FP sensor location within about 10 minutes and never thought about it again.
The camera has some slight improvements, but now that the Note 8 has super slo-mo mode and AR emojis, the difference is negligible.
Is it worth it? Maybe not. But do I regret upgrading? Not at all. But I'm a gadget guy. I have the newest and all the bells and whistles. It's really up to you. If you're happy with your Note 8, you'll love the Note 9...cause it's basically the same device.
For me it was, battery life and stereo speakers. Apart from that it's the same for me. Still worth the it
Ok, yeah the stereo speakers are a really nice upgrade.
You'll immediately notice:
(1) Way better battery life.
(2) Stereo speakers are so much better!
(3) Feels quicker and Bluetooth features are cool if you're an s-pen user.

Cheers, poplectic. I haven't had problems with the battery for the Note 8, but I'm not a heavy or power user like I maybe used to be. I still have a year contract left.

Thanks, rayporsche. Do you mean that the Note 8 fits better in the hand, or is easier to hold, etc? I look forward to Android Pie. It's nice to get a decent upgrade for a phone which is less than 2 years old (here in Japan).

Thanks, Duncan1982. Some good points about holding off. Just one year to go. The fingerprint sensor location is the only thing which is inconvenient when holding the phone with one hand. (My hands are medium sized I expect.)

In my opinion it does feels better kinda of skinnier then again it is almost imperceptible most of the time. It's all a matter of choice if you will like I prefer to use my devices 'naked' without cases and such, they are so beautiful that it would almost be a crime to hide them. Also nowadays we find ourselves helplessly multitasking and it helps to use the phone single handed something that it is not always so easy with the Note 9 or the 8 for that matter, it seems like the new One UI will address that area positively. Lately I've been using a Huawei Mate 10 Porsche Design and that may be why I feel the Note 9 so big sometimes yet the Note 9 remains my favorite, the Huawei is a beautiful device running EMUI 8.0.0 which would be like the Samsung Experience of sorts and it is in the same boat as Samsung with the Android 9 update schedule for 2019. Good luck with your decision !

We should say thank you for taking time to try and respond to each comment with your input. For me that's what I like to do get several views on a topic even though its ultimately up to you. Good luck my friend.

Question is this phone still the best bang for the buck in 2022

Is this still the best bang for the buck phone in 2022? custom ROMs still working good? issues ironed out? ShOuLd I bUy ThIs OvER a SaMmY pHoNe LiKe a A52?!?!??!
There is no manufacturer which I'd recommend without hesitation. Android is in a horrible state after the manufacturers modified it. For Xiaomi this is crippled Always-on-display, disabled Smart Unlock (Bluetooth) etc. Many restrictions for marketing purposes. MIUI is developed without understanding how the memory on Linux shall be managed: You keep everything in memory until someone wants it, so application switching is fast. The installed bloatware is ok, could uninstall it and thanks to DNS66 never saw an ad.
Samsung in my opinion is even worse than Xiaomi. If I buy a phone, it is my device. I want to be able to see all files on it and do a backup. But opening the bootloader Knox gets triggered. They modify big parts of Android for their UI, that's why updates cost them much effort to adopt their changes to new versions. More effort for Samsung, more bugs, worse experience for the user.
If you want a good Android experience, you probably should have a look at Google pixel phones. But bang for the buck is difficult here.
In summary given the choices I'd say the Xiaomi is fine. You could consider the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE if you don't need dual SIM and additional SD card, because 5G will replace 4G one day.
Imho yes but only when you use custom kernel and rom. If you stick with stock ones especially Miui 13 it really sucks, Miui is too resource heavy for 732g SOC. For example when driving I like to listen to spotify in the background and use google maps even though these tasks are fairly lightweight this phone with Miui 13 struggles to run them without stutters and freezes. If you're okay with running stock android like rom, that is when the SOC shines. It runs much more apps than spotify and maps no problem real fluid.

i'm kinda a die hard SD card and headphone jack dude - so this does limit my choices...i mean i had my galaxy note 4 for 6 years (with roms) lol and I'm just starting to get over the fact I won't be able to easily replace batteries in these new phones...ugh. thanks for your sobering input
no joke... a52 is more more better than this ridiculous note10pro... i have all tthese..
note 10 pro have miui orrible and with problems, custom roms with problems (aod, deep sleep, anx not working all).. and terrible drain... no no i have note4,note5 too but this note10 is bad..
Maybe A52s, i'm looking to sell my pristine 10 Pro and maybe get A52s.

interesting this is exactly what i'm deciding between...you had enough of playing with roms? what's the reason for the trade?
The prices I'm seeing; the A52s is twice the price of the Note 10 Pro, so not an even comparison. I just ordered a Note 10 Pro for $200.
In my country Note 10 pro is around $350 brand new in stores for 128GB, and A52s is about 20-30 bucks more.

Interesting. The 6/64 I ordered is shipped from China, though, not in the store. Still, that's a huge markup.

i found at same prime when buyed.. 260 euro for note 5 pro, 280 for a52
Note 10 Pro has proven to be still better that the next gen, freshly released Note 11 Pro. Easy to repair because screens are on the 120 bucks mark while the back cover is solid plastic, very nice to see and touch and won't break if you pry it for a battery change. Also the silicon cover is great from preventing fall damage.
After debloating its very balanced on any task, but don't expect flagship peak performance by any means yet battery lasts a lot (on short usage sessions it lasted me 3 days without charging, 1,5-2 with continuous/intense usage). Imho, after years going Samsung-only I had enough with Knox nonsense, increasing sales pricing and hard-to-repair phones.
According to the specs, the back cover of the Note 10 pro is gorilla glass 5, not plastic.
The Note 11 pro review I saw at gsmarena would suggest that the Note 11 pro is mostly a downgrade from the Note 10 pro, except for the 5g bands.
Edit to add: There's a 4g and a 5g version for it.
Yes, still the best in this price range of ~230 USD.
Samsung A52 costs 390 USD lol, not even comparable here

Yeah but 5G isn't available anywhere, plus the more users move into new cell tech the more smooth the 4G is going to be. Would not consider unless you're into high speed hype.

Realization just struck me. I have the Glacial Blue version that, along with Vintage Bronze are in fact frosted glass while there's not much about the black version which seems to be more common here. I got blinded by disassembly videos where non-Pro versions were considered the same thing as for Pro, so I just made a mistake. Guess I will eventually challenge myself to remove it in future whenever necessary, such as a battery change. They still look pretty simple and solid to remove and the glass lens vessel is separate tho (right, Apple?). Thanks for pointing out!
Yes, personally I don't care for 5g. 4g LTE is fine. One thing that both of the Note 11 Pro models (4g & 5g) have are increased 4g bands, too, that make them more compatible in the U.S. (bands 12 & 66). If 5g or those additional 4g bands matter to someone, those are improvements/features to consider.
I also saw replacement backs for the Note 10 pro, for around $5, and watched a video that made it look easy to change. Hopefully never have to do that.

I have no problems with ANX, deep sleep, battery drain, etc. on my RN10P running the Project Sakura ROM. It's cool to prefer one phone over another, but spreading misinformation doesn't help anyone.
Development for this phone really isn't in a good place.
If you look at the latest posts on each of the ROMs, there's either big issues with heavy battery drain, touch issues or microphone problems.
Sad times
