Magisk modules not functioning - Magisk

Hi
I'm using a Samsung s8, rooted from android 9 with no custom rom flashed. My magisk modules do not work at all. I tried to install YouTube vanced and the module installed but youtube vanced wasn't anywhere on my device despite following all the directions. I even tried installing and using substratum and had the module installed but substratum themes would work at all, even tried installing another module that would silence my camera shutter sounds also didn't work. I can't unistalll modules, cause when I click unistalll and reboot my phone they don't get unistallled and the only to unistalll them is to boot to recovery and manually delete them there. I tried again with substratum after deleting the module but now I can't install the module for some reason. Please help

I think some of matter will be solved in next upgrade.

Problem is I've had this issue way before this update, I just updated it thinking it would solve my issue but it hasn't

Logs! At least provide something to go on or there will likely never be a fix (if there's anything to fix).

Modules without updates for over 3 months.

sorry for the confusion.
there has not been a single update to the module list april IIRC.
could this be related to Loki711's problem?

I'm honestly still confused... What module list? And without at least a Magisk log (and preferably module install logs) it's hard to say what the issue actually is.

I see nothing wrong there. Those modules have simply not been updated in a while. Doesn't mean they don't work or that there's anything wrong...

[q] problem with new wallpaper

Hello everyone,
I have xposed installer so i can use multiwindow. It has some issues but still is great :good:
I have noticed though that when i try to change my wallpaper from a photo in my gallerythe screen splits to 2 and when i set the wallpaper is set on the top half of the screen leaving the rest black.
Anyone had again the same issue? Any ideas how to solve it??
Please note that when i unistall the xposed framework i don't have that problem
Thanks in advance
Does this still happen if you disable all modules? If not, then it's a module specific issue, and you should ask in its support thread.

Which ROM are you on? Also make sure to check the Xposed FAQ (this might fix your issue, even though it's not necessarily the same).

Xposed Modules Desactivator

Hi everybody
Here is my
XPOSED MODULES DESACTIVATOR
If like me you have installed an incompatible Xposed Module causing bootloop
or FC from any system application making it unusable phone (eg CF SystemUI for example),
this is my patch to recover a functional phone !!!
Xposed Modules Desactivator
How to
Copy Xposed Modules Desactivator's zip to the root of your internal card or external card
Flash zip via a Custom Recovery like Philz, TWRP, CWM ... this will disable all modules
Then uninstall incompatible module
Recheck all other modules in the Xposed Installer application to reactivate
Reboot.
Xposed Modules Desactivator to keep safe on its internal or external card,
it will save your life in case of incompatible modules
Enjoy [emoji6]

@edzamber
Excellent job with this deactivation zip:good: and a great idea for the Xposed users.
Nice job. Whilst I don't use Xposed myself, I can see it being really useful for those that do.
I appreciate your engagement but afaik you only have to push any hardware button (volume up for example) a few times on boot and xposed is disabled (puts a disabled file in its directory).
So there should be no need for a flashable zip.
Great work @edzamber.
Please tap the thanks button if I helped you. ?

Really ?
What version of Xposed do you use and witch is your Phone model ?
Because add .disabled file into data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/conf doesn't working anymore with Xposed Framework up to v71... (since core-libart.jar modded isn't needed)
Just tested volume up few times since boot and any other hardware Keys doesn't disable Xposed on Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge device...

Well, I know that it worked, because I used it one time on my s3 - don't know which xposed version it was.
I think 80 or so.
Now I'm not as convinced as I was before and so your efforts might be more useful than I thought ??

I have been using this flashable zip to deactivate xposed modules for months now and damn right it's handy especially if you were messing about with incompatible modules .

I agree. Coming from Cyanogenmod ROMs, permission management on OxygenOS feels very limited.
Also, wanted to say, if auto run and keep awake are your only 2 points (I'm guessing probably not), and if your phone is rooted and has Xposed, try out the module BootManager, and, of course, Greenify. I would think that you already know, but, thought I'd mention it just in case.

I just found out that it's possibly more of an issue with Android standard permissions available for Marshmallow and up.
Compare "Review app permissions thru Android 5.9" https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/6014972?co=GENIE.Platform=Android&oco=1
With: "Control your app permissions on Android 6.0 and up" https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/6270602?hl=en
... for the second page, the listed permissions at the bottom is pretty similar to what is available with OxygenOS, so, it's following AOSP.
*shrug* I guess I've just been using Cyanogenmod for too long.

Everything looks fine in your log. Unless you really need it though, I'd recommend removing the Universal SafetyNet Fix module. It replaces Magisk internal busybox with one that might cause issues... Better to use the resetprop tool to change the device fingerprint to the stock 6P one of you can't pass SafetyNet on that ROM.
What is it that doesn't work? Details, please...

That's not a Magisk issue. You have to match the vendor image with the system image. It even tells you what factory image to get the file from.

I see you have a whole bunch of modules installed and like I said, your log looks good. But when asked for details you only mentioned iYTBP and Android mic fix as not working. This is where I would like some details. How do you know that the modules don't work? What have you tested? What is the expected behaviour and what are you seeing?
Let's start with something that's easy to test: busybox. Open a terminal emulator and type busybox. If nothing happens, run the command as su. Does it show a list of all the applets available?

The busybox screenshots do tell me that everything is working as it should.
The iYTBP Youtube app looks just like the normal Youtube (unless you use the black themed version). It removes ads and brings background playback to the app. If you're seeing ads it might be because you didn't uninstall updates for the stock Youtube app or you let it update through the Play store (you should disable updates for Youtube when using this module).
The audio module might simply be incompatible with your device or you may have another audio mod that is conflicting. Ask for advice in the module support thread.

Barclays banking app

I have installed the canary build as suggested by other people then used magiskhide to hide the banking app. I have also hidden the magisk app but still detects root.
Any other ideas?
Anyone got the barclays app working?
You need to hide magisk manager too inside its options. When you hide it (the option to hide is inside Magisk Manager) the app will be renamed Manager only
https://imgur.com/gallery/3Cc9ELx
Add Rootbeer to the Hide list as well, so you know for sure that MagiskHide is working as it should. If MagiskHide works all checkmarks should be green.
More hiding tips here:

@joluke They already have, as stated in the OP and it's also seen in the screenshot of the Manager.

There you go... It's perfectly possible that's what the app is looking for. Remove any previously installed busybox (some systems comes with it preinstalled), and if you need it install from the Manager downloads instead.

In other words it's a part of your system and you won't be able to use the app until you figure that out (I've tested Barclays and Magisk can hide from it just fine). Could be the kernel that's installing it, as an example. If you're using a custom ROM and/or a custom kernel, ask for advice there.
And why the double posting in the general thread? As you see your just getting the same answers, and also adding noise...

Sounds like it's the ROM then. And, Busybox would be a likely suspect. I'd start by removing it...
Any news? Did you manage to understand if it's the rom giving you the problem?
