Someone experience required to make XML for PERFECT GCAM port - Xiaomi Poco X2 Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hi everyone!
We all regret bitterly that San1ty abondoned his gcam project. For me personally, fact that he was gcam developer for this device, was one of major reasons to buy this phone.
But recently we found gcam port in which, LITERALLY, everything works. It's Butchercam based on Urnyx05 2.1 made by @Metzger100. Mod is completely stable, smooth, and has many customisations not seen in other ports even. The dev Metzger is very helpful and ready to fix/adjust things for our device!n it's unofficially "Official" gcam for Poco X2/K30
The only thing required now are proper XMLs for Butchercam . Therefore we need someone who has some experience in this field and can squise everything from this gcam ( Urnyx 2.1 gcam has even more details so far because of better XMLs. But when I off libpatcher in both, butcher was sharper. That shows that still our XML has lackings.)
Everyone who knows how to work with libpatcher etc is humbly requested to help and share XMLs.
WHAT IS WORKING
- Camera (HDR+/RAW/ZSL/Flash and etc.)
- Portrait Mode (Front/Rear)
- Night Sight (Front/Rear)
- Super Res Zoom
- AR Stickers
- 48mp shots (in future maybe 64mp)
- slowmotion (both 120fps and 240fps with sound)
- Wide angle camera (in MIUI crashesh in video mode but will be fixed in next update)
- macro camera
- EIS works with 1080/30 fps and also with 1080/60 fps and 4k!
- all the other stuff like time laps, panorama, Playground, photo sphere etc.

XMLs are available in attachments (if it opens the file instead of downloading it, just long press and choose download link/download as)
Guide to load xml in Butchercam
•The Folder creates automaticly on v2.0 and later.
•Open any file explorer
•In the internal storage, make a folder with name 'GCam'
•Now make another folder inside GCam with name Configs7 and inside that a Folder with the name Butchercam
(the final path would be like
/internalstorage/GCam/Configs7/Butchercam)
•Copy/Paste the required .xml files inside Butchercam
•Now open your GCam and double tap at the bottom blank area near shutter button (see picture)
•Select the xml you want and hit 'Restore/Update'
DISCLAIMER:
Once again emphasize that this is not my port but it's made by @Metzger100 . He himself very clearly says that his port is Urnyx05 based and gives him a lot of credit. Very good, mature and rare attitude by the way.
Regards

Will test it out

We have first good all-around XML for Butchercam. Please check attachments in OP. Moreover in testing is right now Butchercam 2.2 and will be published soon Go ahead, try to test and give suggestions

The xml file is not downloadable. It is opening in a text format. Can you please share a downloadable file?

I am not an expert in photography but the results using this xml are quite promising. Thankful to whoever developed it and looking forward to future updates from him/her

Holy cow this mode is better than previous gcam mods. Really nice work

Thanks for appreciating and XML, I'll try it definitely. Whole credit goes to Metzger100 and Urnyx05 (who by the way is also fixing bugs on our device ). I only try somehow to give impurities for creating some good configs for it. Configs for Urnyx05 gcam are also very welcome, for now it gives best details

Well, the developer is working closely with us to better the cam for our device hence if we wait for some time, I'm sure we can surpass ultracvm as this cam will be fine tuned for phoenix/phoenixin.

Beta test now complete - SentinelROM

EDIT: Thanks to everyone who assisted with the testing. The ROM is now released.
Any kernel tweaks like on the n7?
I've made a few small adjustments for improved battery life but its close to stock cm kernel.
The ROM itself has more significant mods over standard CM10.1. If you are already using SentinelROM on N7 or N10 you know what to expect.
Looking forward to releasing it officially as soon as I get some feedback here.
give a screenshot?
what's the style like
All the details you need are at www.sentinelrom.com
The ROM is based on CM10.1 source, with significant improvements to battery life and performance. I compile the kernel and ROM myself with my own tweaks from what I've learned compiling for Nexus 10 and Nexus 7.
Unfortunately I can't provide a screenshot as I don't have a nexus 4.
Give it a shot if you're interested. I'll be launching it officially as soon as I receive the word from you guys that it's all working OK.
Why not?!
How do you want your feedback, in here..?
Thanks mate.
In here is fine.
The things I need tested are:
*Boot animation working
*ROM performance is buttery smooth (it certainly should be!)
*Data, Wifi, Bluetooth, Calls, GPS all working
Make sure you do a proper wipe of the system partition before installing, and DONT FORGET TO NANDROID BACKUP first!!!

Booted fine! Nice boot animation! The blue (or was it purple) light flashing is the only "active" part of it, no?
Now off to take it through a couple of rounds. Feedback a bit later!:good:
Beautiful!! That's a great start!
Yeah the background on the boot animation is the only moving part. Looking forward to some more feedback
If you're able to dump some sceenshots of the home screen and settings-about that would be awesome too!
Thanks so much for helping out!!

Pleasure!
So no issues to report with wifi, data, calls, bluetooth, gps?
So, here it goes!
- stellar performance! All smooth, no lag anywhere. Unlocking screen also smooth which is a very good sign. Also no Recents lag.
- data: all good
- WiFi: all good
- Bluetooth: just called my bar, a notoriously bad line. All good! Music also fine.
- Calls: as above, all good
- GPS: locked within couple of seconds while standing inside by the window.
- OTA Updater: only error I've seen mentioned in the rom but it makes sense as you haven't released it yet, no..?
It's pass on everything else..
Very nice, great rom mate!
I like the boot animation:good:
Beautiful!! Thanks so much for your help. I'll take the link off this thread and launch officially ASAP.

Thanks again for your help! Massively appreciated!

[VOLUNTEERS NEEDED] Custom ROM Comparison Database for Lollipop

The old ROM comparison chart is outdated and the structure is a bit messy, so I want to make a new one, exclusively for lollipop ROMs.
Lollipop Custom ROM Comparison Database
My info collection method:
1) Rom name + version number + XDA Link
2) Rom Logo
3) I start by visiting every stock menu entry (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Display) in settings app and write out the options that were added to stock lollipop.
4) Then, I write out added menu entries (themes, performance profiles).
5) Upload screenshots on imgur as a vertical album. (Or better: screenrecord extra menus and upload on youtube)
6) Insert imgur/youtube link at the end of the column.
7) Add rows if necessary.
To avoid trolling I made the document read-only. Download the original one edit it and attach it below.

Good attempt, hope this will grow slowly but steady.
We already have had a ROM comparison, but not related to Nexus 5, was more kind of general.
The guys moved to an Excel Online spread sheet now. But also, only general, not Nexus 5 related.
If you join them or if you do your own thing, I wish you all the best. But if you come up with a bigger comparison, let's say with 5 or more ROMs compared, drop a PM or post it in my Nexus 5 index thread and I will include it.
Added Cataclysm ROM and RastaPop
Added Dirty Unicorns 9.1

Hi, I'm one of the members of the team that started this and I can only thank you for mentioning it.
As you've said, we recently moved to Office 365 which allows us to expand and host a whole new range of features; it would be wonderful if you (OP) could check it out and maybe we could 'join forces'
Thanks
Clarify Please
Not to be a smart ass....
But Could you please explain how or what the colors / symbols mean please.
I get it opened up and it has light green and a light red with u's with dots on top.
What do they mean?
Green is ok, good working? Red is bad, not working?
Maybe some simple Y's and N's...
IDK
Thank you for the time to make the chart.
I'm about to upgrade to v5 Lolipop and Found it interesting, helpful.

I really appreciate the work of your team, as I, myself have used your comparison database several times in the past, but as android was updated to lollipop and developers started rebuilding their roms, most of information in the database became inaccurate (at least for Nexus 5). For example Xposed is barely working, paranoid is just vanilla with theme engine (for now), dirty unicorns doesn't have pie, pac-rom is still stuck at kitkat and so on. That's why I had the idea to start fresh.
Also I wanted the feature list to be better organized and more intuitive.
As your database needs a serious renewal, I suggest we refine my feature list and than add roms step-by-step.

Interesting project, I'll keep an eye on it.
Just wanted to report there are some inconsistencies with the Euphoria entry: it DOES have customizable quick tiles, long-press recents for last app, menu on both sides, 3+ tiles per row (3 or 4 to be precise).
Unfortunately I don't have time to mainatin the entry myself since I don't flash regularly so I'm usually not up to speed with the features.
Anyway, excellent work, bookmarked!

I'm actually very impressed that you tried. :victory: Most users wouldn't have gone that far. I would suggest that you go to the themes and apps section, find a bootanimation thread and contact the OP and ask very nicely for help. The fact that you are willing to try to do this yourself is the spirit of XDA. I would imagine that the proper sizing of your image/images is important. Most developers will be willing to help someone learn to do it themselves. Good luck and keep trying!
:good:
Working on it now but on the first test all I get is a black screen. On test zip one the only change I made was in the desc.txt to change the resolution to 1440 2560. Now I'm going to play around with the desc.txt some more b4 I edit those 200+ images. OP (IMHO) try rereading the link that ends in 1852621. This is the one I used back in my S2 T989 days to make my own. I had to go through it a few times but with that and another desc.txt to study I finally got it. In my limited experience it's properly writing the desc.txt. I still refer it!
Got it!! Now all that's left is to adjust the fps and replace the 4 with a 6. The original fps was at 20 I have this at 45. Idk if there is something more technical but it looks slow. Gonna bump it up to 55 to see how it looks. Unfortunately its time to return to work. I'll post a link here when done. Hopefully I don't get home to late in the morning.
Thought I'd give an update.

Its not final yet. There are some editing and trying to find the right fps. As of right now it works but the animation is slow ( not to my standard) . I'm just trying to help the op get it ported. When its up to par I'm sure he'll post it here. I'll pm you a link just as a teaser but please don't distribute it.
Still learning
Hi! I'm trying to create my own boot animation myself. I'm getting this same black screens. How did you fix it? What size do the images need to be? The original is 832x520.
Resize all the images to 1440x2560 for portrait and 2560x1440 for landscape. The black screen could be because of the file structure of your zip. Assuming you use 7zip; right click on your bootanimation and select view archive. In the window that pops up you should only have the image folder(s) and the desc.txt. Make sure that when you create your zip that you select the image folder(s) and desc.txt nothing else. If your still getting a black screen pm it to me I'll look at it when I can.

[BOOTANIMATION] [1080p] Google Dots Pure/PureVS

The old lollipop boot animation remixed with the new Google logo!
Note:
1. Only resemblance with the stock Google animation is that it boots sequentially
and waits for boot to finish to show final animation.
2. View Safe (VS Suffix in Downloads) has reduced white for people who find the pure version, well, blinding!
3. Actual animation is as smooth as shown in video! Use the 720pScaleTo1080p version if not smooth!
4. Don't PM me for other resolutions, comment on thread quoting me! (No Guarantees!)

Like i've pointed out in the main post, it should be as smooth as the preview video, and again as i mentioned in the main post, try 720pScaledTo1080p. It's probably a hardware/software limitation. (and please don't tell me how that's not possible and how awesome your one plus 2 is :silly: , i've tested on multiple phones (as i dont want noobs to get a bootloop and spam my mailbox), and have found it to be smooth.) If you find it to be slow even then(after using 720pScaledTo1080p version), pm me. I'll try and help.

For those reading the comments wondering if the scaled one looks good or not, it DOES. It looks really good and if you're having problems with the 1080p original it's better to change to the scaled one.

Haha, still looks good right. Anyways, i'll try making the 1080p better if I am free
@S1N1S73R I create an apk with this bootanimation to use it with theme engine. I think it was easier to install. You are happy if I post it here? Thanks
This is the result:
Sent from my Oneplus One
Im using the 1080p 60fps looks great but my phone have a small yellow tint so It would be great if you can make a dark version

Share Your Mods ! Xposed Modules ! Magisk Modules ! Setups ! Help Refresh Your Phone

As The Oneplus 5 is slowly aging ( fairly well i might add ) it has a tendency of getting a little bit redundant and boring
This Thread ( If kept alive by you guys ) will serve as a way of exchanging all the cool mods / modules / tweaks / and everything that can bring back the spice to your phone and make it feel like a new toy again
You May Ask questions about a mod that does a specific thing you've been looking for
You May Share a screenshot of all the magisk / xposed modules you use
you may show off your layout or your homescreen
you may show us a cool substratum theme u've been using
anything in this concept will be much useful and appreciated
let's hope this thread thrives
as i finish updating my phone to oreo ( in a couple of days ) i will be sharing what i have / use
till then i hope someone takes the handle from me n kicks up this thread
can't wait to see what u have :highfive: :good:
Nah, it's far from redundant. Super support for the OP5 still alive and kicking.
Here you go, nothing special

thanks for the contribution bro , maybe consider changing ur settings backround color to black ? save some more batterie , make use of ur amoled screen ; and makes it looks a bit better imo
also u can do some more work with ur homescreen , maybe arrange ur icons and get a nice wallpaper ?
i suggest u get something from minimalist wallpapers and be creative with ur icon placements
Edit : also ur statusbar looks sick btw ! keep it up

That's a useful extension for Tasker. It makes it much more powerful. I have an app which requires a password to start, with tasker I automated a text input so that I only have to push the login button, awesome feature

The Pixel oreo mod damaged my wifi, only got 2,5mb download, deactivating pushes my 2,4 GHz network to 8mb... May you test it?

Interesting sound mods you have there.
How do they compare to mods like viper4android and dolby atmos?

they don't , i like ainur sauron cauz i feel it adds a subtle touch in the background , coupled with viper4android then installing android modification library to have them work simultaneously and u have the best sound you can have
dolby is very buggy these days , and the other sound mods are all under the hood without an interface or further insight , so yeah
although i am experiencing some crackling noises with viper4android when enabling viper bass / clarity
didn't have that back in nougat , any idea ?

i wouldn't replace viper for anything as it has been the best through all the time n phones i went through
but unfortunately in oreo your choices are very thin ...
i also experienced a bit of glitchy noises when enabling viper bass and viper clarity , can't tell if it's from viper itself or the phone drivers or whatever , definitely wasn't present in nougat , any ideas ?
