Is Motorola doing fraud with moto g9 ( g9 play ) - Moto G9 Play Guides, News, & Discussion

Recently purchased moto g9 ( india ) having Snapdragon 662 according to website but in about phone baseband version is shown as M4250_XX..... which is for Snapdragon 460.
For Snapdragon 662 baseband version should be M6115_XX....
IS MOTOROLA DOING FRAUD ?
for e.g moto g8 plus having sd 665 having correct baseband M6125_XX...
**Please raise this issue with me in other forum.

No fraud to it. Baseband versions on Motorola smartphones are not necessarily specific to chipset platforms. In other words, two Moto devices with two entirely different chipsets can have the exact same baseband versions. Baseband versions are based on firmware builds, and not necessarily the chipset platform. While the prefix to a baseband version typically signifies a particular chipset, this particular nomenclature does not always coincide with the device's chipset. An example: a very common Motorola baseband version begins with "M8920", which is indicative of the Snapdragon 427 chipset. And, in fact, this baseband version is seen in several Moto devices with the Snapdragon 427. However, this baseband version is also found on devices having the Snapdragon 430 and Snapdragon 435. To summarize, so long as the baseband version coincides with the particular firmware build on the device (unless the baseband firmware has been modified on the user end), then the baseband version is correct regardless of the device's chipset platform.
To determine the baseband version that coincides with a particular firmware build, you may download an official Motorola firmware package from this repo site https://mirrors.lolinet.com/
Extract the firmware archive and you will find a build info.txt file, wherein the "Modem Version" is synonymous with the correct baseband version of the firmware build, i.e. the "Modem Version" listed in the build info.txt is exactly the same as the baseband version. This repo is massive and includes official firmware builds for virtually every Motorola smartphone on the planet. However, if there is a particular build you are unable to find, comment below and I will search Motorola's firmware server for the build you need.

Indeed. Motorola also favors the Snapdragon 636 platform, which powers the Moto Z3 Play, the Motorola One Power, the Moto G7 Plus, the Motorola P30 Note, the Lenovo S5 Pro (Global) and the Lenovo Z5. As such, it would not be at all uncommon to see the same baseband version on two or more of these devices.

Can someone make a list of which devices are considered "Second-Generation"?

Can someone make a list of which devices are considered "Second-Generation"?
I have a phone called Infinix Hot 2 (Android One, MT6580, 16GB Internal memory, codename "Infinix_X510_sprout") which is supposed to be a second-gen android one phone according to Wikipedia but all the "second-gen" ROMS here doesn't seem to be compatible with it.
Easy:
Only Snapdragon devices are supported here.
.
Usually, nobody from the DEV's is interested in MTK devices, since there is no source/support from Mediatek available.
Your phone(codename sprout, Mediatek 6582 CPU) is 1st gen Android One phone.

Problems with fingerprints that doesn't work

Hello, after last update, has someone encountered problems sometime, in using fingerprints to access the device?
You have to be much more specific, there are diff models (single or dual SIM, 16 or 32 GB) and varius custs (regional releases), even for the same model/cust dynamics of OTA may vary for eg countries/operators
Depending on that, some are still on M, some on various N builds and some on Android O
So exactly, about which build are you talking - full build name as from Settings/About

SOS, I want to upgrade the ROM, or software on it. T98, 8 inches car DVR dashcam etc

Please let me know how to detect /root this DVR unit, ? Is there a way I can Flash a newer program? Newr Android Version? it is MTK chip and detail is this..

G977B latest firmware currently, and potential One UI 3.0?

Hi, I haven't checked in here much since I first got my phone and followed the guides to update & root etc. It seems fairly quiet in here, guess it wasn't one of the massively popular phones.
My phone is currently running this firmware, but am I able to install newer versions from this list, which all match my phone's BTU code? (Also is there a best guide for updating a rooted phone?)
The other thing is the One UI 3.0 update, the old announcements mention S10 series phones getting it, and specifically include the S10 5G. All the recent beta files that have been made available and announced release dates for the official release version mention the other S10 models but not the 5G. Any ideas, anyone heard anything? Anyone officially signed up for betas and know they actually exist?
Cheers!

Identifying the correct build number for Pixel 5...

How can you find out what version of the phone you have? I purchased a used Google brand (or so I thought) P5 this spring and I thought I flashed the Feb 21 A11 RQ1"A".210205.004 build (certain I did because that's the build I have downloaded). I did this before I ever installed my Verizon SIM card. I have been struggling with connectivity issues for a while now, and another XDA member suggested that I reflash the radios from that build. Sounds like a good idea, but when I just looked at the build number on the phone its a RQ1"D" build number. I never downloaded that version, so three questions:
1, Could the phone change the build number when I installed the Verizon SIM card? If so, which radio flash would be the correct one? The Google version or the Verizon version?
2. What can I check on the phone to determine what version of the hardware I have? I had the bootloader unlock option available when I got the phone, so I thought it was a Google phone. Are there other clues as to the hardware version?
3, Generally, if you are using a Google phone with a Verizon SIM in it, do you use Google builds or Verizon builds?
Thanks in advance
Settings > About phone > Android version
Or
Settings > About phone -- Build number is on the bottom
When I first bought the phone (Google unlocked) I was using Verizon.
I'm now on AT&T, however the build used remain the same.
I'll link the latest factory images for Pixel 5
Android 12
Android 13

Thanks for your response. Something odd seems to be going on here. I found the phones hardware to be GD1YQ in the Regulatory Labels tab, so is not the Japan or Global model. So I know I did not download and flash the Verizon build, but yet the phone says the version is the "D" (Verizon) build. I am not sure whether to flash the radios out of the Verizon version or the Google version of the update. I do not want a brick, so I am confused as to how to move forward.
But, if there is no specifically Verizon version hardware, why is there two different updates? It should not matter which version you use, right? Especially if the hardware is unlocked and the only difference is the sim card...
What am I missing here?

Mine is GD1YQ as well..
I'd just download either of the 2 links I Linked above, depending of if you want A12 or A13.

I'm still using A11, actually. I can get the downloads, but just not sure which one I should use.

This is as simple as I can possibly make it for you...
Android 11.0.0 (RQ3A.211001.001, Oct 2021
Android 12.1.0 (SQ3A.220705.003.A1, Jul 2022)
Android 13.0.0 (TP1A.220624.014, Aug 2022)
Depending on if you want to stay on Android 11, upgrade to Android 12 or latest Android 13.. these are the links for the Pixel 5 - Redfin
I personally suggest you upgrade to Android 12, and wait for more releases of Android 13, before upgrading to it.
Choice is yours obviously.
