I want to root my device and in order to do that, I need to unlock the bootloader. However, when I try to unlock the bootloader using Xiaomi's unlock tool (https://en.miui.com/unlock/) it says that the fingerprint recognition will be disabled. Will there be any way to re-enable this once I've rooted the device?
I unlocked the bootloader with adb/cmd and fingerprint works normal. No problems so far.
"Xiaomi unlock tool" is not for Android One devices

No, that's not true. It probably applies to other Xiaomi devices, but this line of devices is special. These come with Android One, which runs Google's pure OS rather than regular Xiaomi devices that run MIUI.
I'm going to unlock and root (hopefully) mine. You shouldn't face any problems with the fingerprint.
Hi I have Tencent edition and I received it with WW rom with WW fingerprint with 1908.12 version. Safety nets passes but few things is not ok. In DRM info I have Widevine L3. I've tried to flash rom with unlock and lock bootloader but still have L3. Unlock app dont work , i unlock bootloader via ed.
Other things I intalled 1910.64 raw rom, is it normal that after it Asphalt 9 is preinstalled?

If the bootloader is unlocked widevine will be L3. Only relocking, which will remove root and wipe data will give you L1.
Asphalt is just a preinstalled system app, part of the ROM, you can remove.
I have done relocking and dont have prompt on booting.
Fingerprint doesn't work in stock ROM with a locked bootloader. It work only with unlocked bootloader.
What are hell ? How fix it?

It should be noted that I had the latest version of Origin Os Ocean and the method did not work for me, I had to downgrade to origin os with the official downgrade version of vivo, I went back to how I bought the phone from the factory, but from there I was able unlock the bootloader, after installing root, you can try at your own risk. But I'm telling you, it works...
I suppose that it is possible once the bootloader is unlocked, go to update the system again to the latest version and root

It did not work, error when doing the test, and I looked and it is probably an error with the persist image. but I don't have a backup, and I downloaded the firmware but it comes divided, persist_1, persist_2, persist_3.
I don't know how to move it.

come one guys... if the fingerprint is broken whats the point of unlocking the phone.
Some people unlock the bootloader so they can root with magisk and enable VoLTE. Once that is done you can relock the bootloader and fingerprint functionality returns.

In the vivo x70 unlock post there is a link to an application for pc, original from vivo, that downloads the origin os 1.0, I used it to be able to go back to 1.0 and be able to unlock the bootloader, but after unlocking you can update back to origin os ocean if you like

I don't know if that works, since when you block the bootloader again and if the system detects that there are alterations, it won't boot, you will enter a bootloop

i flashed my X40 CN to EU without problems and locked the bootloader after. After that i realised that certain features seem to not work properly for me. The peek display doesn't show me any notifications nor is the Edge Lighting working either. I now want to flash back to CN but can't unlock the OEM since it's greyed out for me.
I'd be glad about any help.
Unlocking the bootloader after locking it won't work, so far I understand it's not possible to unlock the bootloader again at the moment.
The only method that would be working is tricking the phone into EDL mode and flashing back to other rom.
This is yet not possible, the only thing we can do is wait for someone to find out how to get the phone into EDL mode.
I'm having a simelar issue (check my thread).

Are you still able to install OTA updates? Maybe it will eventually get fixed once a new update comes in OR if Peek Display is updated via PlayStore.
No OTA updates so far. Peek display is working now. After a factory reset and new setup it worked again. Bootloader is still locked and OEM unlock is still greyed out. Hopefully there will be a fix soon. Lenovo rescue is not working , the model XT2301-5 is not supported.
