Hi all,
How can I change CSC for Z FOLD 2 5G F916B from XSG (UAE) to INS or THL to enable in-built call recording?
PDA: F916BXXU1BTIA
CSC: F916BOXM1BTIA

Any solution guys?????

Bump

Finally did it. Changed CSC to THL using samkey and enabled builtin call recording

Really? It worked? Samkey web site says it doesn’t support yet F916B.

Yes it is done. However, 5G is not working here in UAE [emoji26]
I need to find out CSC that works with 5G and call recording

Most welcome.
I have problem. I changed CSC to THL originally. I was happy with it originally. I had call recording, OTA update, VoLTE, but no 5G signal even though it is activated in mobile networks settings. I think because of different frequency band between Thailand and UAE.
Now, I changed to ILO. I am having call recording, VoLTE, and 5G signal but no samsung pay (Israel) and cannot update by OTA. It is telling my software is up-to-date. However, I am still on the August firmware ATHE.
I want call recording, VoLTE, 5G, samsung pay and OTA update. Basically all the services I can get in UAE with extra call recording.
Which CSC should I use now?

Buy 3 credits from reseller on ebay (About £5.99)
Install Samkey
Use the login you get from the ebay seller
Disable all security on your phone so it boots direct to the homescreen, no screen lock
Enable USB debugging in developer options
Connect phone to USB
Enter the CSC you want in the "Change CSC" box
Hit "Change CSC" and wait for the phone to reboot
Done

Will it wipe all data and perform a factory reset?
Thanks 10000 times.

No. I would suggest to change CSC to INU

When changing CSC to India for example, I am noticing calls quality are not good. Is the CSC impacting the call quality and signal strength?

What features do you have with INU?
VOLTE? Wifi calling? 5G? eSim? Call recording? Camera shutter sound switch? Samsung Pay?
Thanks.

VoLTE, call recording, Samsung PAY and 5G are there.
eSim couldn't get it since I am on the August firmware. It is not showing September firmware when searching for update. Maybe need to update through ODIN???
Wifi calling is not working by service provider.
Camera shutter switch is not available. Any way to make it available?

Are you sure that 5G is working? Are you getting 5G signal? Which country are you located?
I had issue with THL CSC that 5G was not working in my country due to different frequency band between UAE and Thailand. I know this becaume I got 5G signal when I changed CSC to India (same frequency band as UAE)
The problem with CSC India is that I am not getting September firmware from August firmware through OTA.
What should I do?

I am from Malaysia which is next to Thailand.
Our 5G spectrum is the same.
Yes I got 5G network here.
I updated to September firmware OTA after I change the CSC to THL.
In my previous experience with note 9 with THL CSC, I managed to get firmware update from time to time as well.

I switched my S20U to THL csc just for fun. Everything works fine, I now have the call recording feature but the option to turn off the shutter sound is not there. I wonder wich csc handles it.

Is changing CSC to different country where I am located going to affect the 5G speed? I am not getting the 5G speed more than 1000mbps using N78 band here in UAE???

Samkey CSC choice #debranding

Hello,
I have bought branded s10 - Vodafone UK. I will change CSC code to remove Vodafone branding from device and I am going to use Samkey. I live in Great Britain so default csc code for my region is XEU. I am familiar with Samsung and years ago I made a research and case looks a little bit complicated. New phones sold directly from Samsung come with BTU csc code, but phones from resellers come with XEU csc. Additionally I experienced on s9 that in Odin flashing BTU resulted XEU. Very strange. There are a lot of threads with question about difference between XEU and BTU with always the same answer - it depends from where phone come. That's quite simple however still very strange.
Anybody has never explain what's the difference in software and services between XEU and BTU. What's the real difference between both of them?
Should I flash XEU or BTU? And why XEU or BTU?
If I know any other country doesn't have more than one csc for non branded Samsung's. Why Samsung released two different csc for UK?
It's really strange. Currently changing csc in samkey require credit so there is no sense check all csc just to see how them works. If you have knowledge what's going on please explain that.

if you flash a CSC in Odin and it changes from what you thought you were flashing to something else, then its a multi csc file and the SIM in your phone is telling the phone to go to that CSC.
That's right in almost all case. My region UK is the only one exception with two csc XEU and BTU. XEU comes from resellers, Samsung sales phones with BTU csc code localy. Nobody knows why we have got two different csc for our country and what's the difference between both.

usa also has multiple csc for unlocked devices.. the usa U1 (samsung direct models) have most to all the same csc that the carrier U models have.. for example theres xaa xas xac gcf then all the carriers also such as vzw spr att tmo you get the point.. usually the samsung direct has less bloat but also sometimes certain carrier features might not work such as wifibcalling for example.. usually ull be ok tho..
i suggest looking into chimera tool.. most devices r supported to change csc for free after ubpurchase a license which might b more beneficial in the long run instead of always purchasing samkey credits and you can try em all n see what works best for u.. id check if that features availabls for ur device first tho

My mistake. Two different csc for unbranded devices. BTU - directly from Samsung. XEU - unbranded phones from resellers like Amazon. I don't understand why they are different. I have flashed BTU and my phone switched to XEU. Yes BTU is multi OXM.

1. Do you have a link to this Chimera tool?
2. I have a friend with a Galaxy Note 10+ and the CSC on this phone is set to TGY (Hong Kong).
If I understand correctly, call recording is blocked due to this CSC.
Can he use Chimera to change the CSC, and enable call recording?

Question S21 Ultra HK SM-G9980 Version Outside of HK?

Does anyone own an Hong Kong version outside of Hong Kong?
If so, what are your experiences in terms of:
1. What country are you using it?
2. Does VoLTE Work?
3. Does Wifi Calling Work?
4. Both sim slot capable of 5G?
5. Samsung Pay work?
6. Call Recording?
Using G9980 HK version in Australia. No issues. VOLTE and wifi calling works. 5G works very well on SIM slot 2 only, not on SIM 1. No call recording. Have not tried Samsung Pay I use Google Pay.
Im in japan right now, and 4g works in both sims, volte works, in options could put 2 sims on 5g, but here dont have 5g yet.
in case someone else interested:
- Austria
- everything except for Samsung Pay and Call Recording works on my side
- 5G not tested, but shown as option

Question CSC question- Currently SIN and need to use with Tmobile or Verizon in USA

Hi all. I have the a few sm-g998b phones, rooted with magisk, and I am a bit confused about which CSC I should flash to the device (SAMKEY). I ordered the phones from Singapore and need them be more compatible with USA verizon and USA tmobile. Only using one sim per phone. Which CSC should I replace the current SIN csc with for each, and is there anything else I can do to make these phones play a bit nicer in the USA? I am currently having issues with no 5g, poor wifi calling, no updates, etc.
1. Avoid SamKEY. Do your own work.
2. Flash the HOME_CSC, or the CSC of the firmware of the carrier. HOME is usually a safer bet though.
You're going to have issues in the US until you flash the proper CSC. AFAIK, every S21U has all radios, but the CSC activates the correct one.
For the absolute safest, download the TMOB stock firm, and flash the HOME_CSC (as well as the BL, AP, etc), then put the Tmob SIM in after boot.

Why would you aquire the Exynos Global variant knowing your service provider isn't optimized for your firmware? Did you save money? If so I hope saved a lot otherwise it was a poor choice. Your best option is keeping the stock SIN Firmware, at least you'll get timely updates. You MIGHT get Wifi Calling and VoLTE enabled but forget about 5G and Carrier Aggregation.
Missed that you mentioned an Exynos variant. Yeah, you're ****ed. Exynos is not compatible with US bands, or at least aggregate banding.

Unfortunately, these phones are company. we needed root for some applications.
*don't use SAMKEY
This is a bit tricky because US is Snapdragon-based.
My best bet would be to factory reset (don't forget to backup) and flash a multi-csc Exynos ROM (OXM). This would detect the most compatible one for your US sims.
I would suggest getting the XSP for Singapore because that's the unbranded one.
Other than n71 5G band for US Cellular, I don't think you'll have much issues.

"This would detect the most compatible one for your US sims" Nope, that's incorrect, Exynos Global variants aren't able to detect the most compatible US Networks. It's apples and oranges, there is zero integration for US devices.

The Exynos variants are Multi-CSC Devices, mainly for Europe, not for the US. The SM-G9980 isn't a Multi-CSC Device unlike some US Models, it's Dual-Sim. In Settings under Network Operators you can have the device select the "Best Network" but it isn't analyzing call features, it's only matching the network with the Active CSC (SIM Card).
Bro,
On the stock phone dialer key in
*#2263#
You will see the bands the 998b supports.
Now u need to check on the networks u plan to use in the US what bands are used. Not sure what u plan to do but these exynos phones should be able to roam into the US with voice n data services. Not blazing gigabits but one should be able to roam globally with these phones.

Question Can changing firmware enable bands?

Hi all,
I have a US bought S21 Ultra that i bought and used in the USA. I have now moved to the UK. The g998u1 Is not able to use UK 5G bands. My question is whether flashing the phone g998b or g998w will enable the bands that i need or, is there a physical difference on the phone that will negate this?
Thanks in advance.
PK
Devices sold in different regions often have hardware differences. Samsung in particular is known for doing this. I would think that it would be generally cheaper to use one radio chipset across all markets and just use software to define its capabilities, but this often isn't the case.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...22-series-including-sub-6-and-mmwave.4488435/ works. Just skip the steps you don't need (i.e., if your csc is xaa, there's no need to change csc).
It works on my u1 xaa and other than band 28 for 5G, all the bands are there.
