From my experience, they will not fix it (*cough*S10 Lite*cough*), so wait till you buy it.

Crap. Sorry to hear that. Unlocked or Carriers?

Download the app called "Display Tester" and open it > Go to "Tests" > "BurnIn detection" > Now set Red, Green and Blue to 11. Should be visible even on higher brightness.

I did not have this effect on my t-mobile version.

No problem on mine unit.

I don't see this on my 5G unit. You might just be very unlucky to have a faulty screen.

Tomorrow I will get a new S20 FE 5G. I will report back!

Tested on my Tmobile unit, looks just fine with the screen tester.
From the box:
Cloud Navy color
HW rev 1.1

Date 9/18/2020
S/W G781USQU1ATI9
Maybe we can track it down to a bad batch

Are all GG made in Korea?

Hi
It's a curious question. I'm seeing some online sellers in my country selling GG with different boxes (larger) than the one my GG came in. My box was smaller and also i'm seeing a different lettering of the inside of that watch vs mine.
Have a look at this link: http://articulo.mercadolibre.com.ve/MLV-415953986-nuevo-reloj-samsung-galaxy-gear-_JM
My GG on the inside back has a BC symbol and 6 lines of lettering and also reads made in Korea. I understand this is the usual right? Bit confused with that vendor images.
Not sure where these ones were made but China usually takes over production after awhile. At least from what I have seen from older samsung products. However the gear is relatively new so I doubt anyone else besides samsung (Korea) is making them right now. Packaging may vary.

Mine just says 'Made by Samsung'. No country of origin mentioned at all? I don't have a BC symbol either? I do have in large print ce0168
This what mine reads:

Mine also says Vietnam.
I live in the US
Vietnam as well
Looks like Korea pawned off the manufacturing to Vietnam instead of China this time. Mine says Korea but I got mine the first week it came out.

Bought in Laos.
I bought in UK
Wow they all look much different. Please upload more pics! for the curiosity.
Mine says "Made in Korea by Samsung" both on the watch and the box. FYI the box mines came in is a more of a cube not a rectangular like the one post on that website.

gold or silver note 5

does anyone know or even think the U.S market will get the gold or silver note 5 any time soon?I really want a silver one.I don't understand why they would show all those colors at there press release but not make them available. It is kind of upsetting and makes me wonder what is wrong with samsung marketing people.I wonder how many more sales they could of had at the release with those colors.
Yeah I feel you. In my country only the Black and Gold are available and I really wanted either the White or Silver, because these 2 colors don't show fingerprints a lot. The Black and Gold are constantly dirty. I wipe mine down at least twice a day and it's still constantly disgusting.
To answer your question, no I don't think colors will be available everywhere. They are market dependent. Maybe down the road they will arrive but by that time it'll be too late to own a Note5 anyways

I was in the same boat. I'm on AT&T and didn't like the black (blue?) option or the white one.
I really liked silver and loved the gold.
I ended up buying the N920i international model and am currently using it on AT&T flawlessly.
No complaints whatsoever.

No there isn't, I checked and nothing works on Verizon except for Sprint and Verizon phones.
The one I have is not compatible either. Sorry.

S Pen Writing Color on the Glaxay Note 9

Yes, yes.. I get you can disable the pen color so that it shows up on white after a save..
But that's not why I'm here..
When the AOD (Always on Display) is active and I removed the pen several days ago I somehow was able to pick and choose my pen color to write on the AOD. I specifically remember choosing different colors, reinserting the pen and seeing how it looked on the dark background. Dark background being the Screen off memo.
I took the "purple" (Totally Lavendar Pinkish!) Note 9 back for the blue one and now I'm unable to choose or locate how to choose the pen color now.. So frustrating cause I know you can do that!
I'm lost..
How strange..
I clearly remember choosing colors and testing them out on the dark AOD display.
What am I missing here?
BS
Did you miss this setting?

I think you're misremembering. It's been well documented in reviews that you cannot change the color (only revert back to white).

Is Redmi 9 connecting (seeing) Wi-Fi 5GHz networks?

Hi everyone,
I am about to purchase this phone, but I couldn't see the "ac" standard under WiFI (it is on gsmarena, but not on the local reseller website). Can someone confirm (or not) that Redmi 9 can (or can't ) connect to 5GHz networks via WiFi?
Thank you!
According to the official Website. Yes, it's support 5G wifi.

Thanks! I also went on mi.com and saw that, but I was wondering if anyone actually tested this.
Oh well, I guess I'll see tomorrow if it does, I took the risk and ordered it yesterday (green version).
I'll come back with a definite answer.

After some testing, I can now confirm that Redmi 9 connects to 5G WiFi network, and has a high speed ( 280 Mbps). This matches the results from a 2 year old flagship, that's good enough for me.
not in the Indian version
It does support 5Ghz wifi but not in India. Everywhere else it does.

Question How do i change notch area behavior to stay black? I hate the color-change effect when i switch apps

Unfortunately in the developer options I don't see an option that can hide the notch in the same way. Is it the same phone that appears in the two images?
Yes it is.

Have you tried it? That doesn't quite work as it just pushes everything down.

And is not the idea from the beginning? That the notch was left without any content? PS: I have Android 12 and that works perfectly for me, I couldn't test it on Android 11
No. On android 9 on the old phone I could keep the background black and keep icons in their default position.

Android 9? To my knowledge, the Motorola Edge 20 has not come out with a version lower than Android 10
