No Texting In Standalone Mode - Samsung Galaxy Watch 3

Galaxy Watch 3 LTE - Sprint
As the title says, I can't send or receive texts in standalone mode. I can send & receive calls, use data, but no texts. They only work when connected to Bluetooth. Anyone else have this issue or know of a solution?

Hi, I have the same problem, I had to create a program to be able to send sms on standalone, but i keep working to receive it , but actually I am learning how to add the TAPI libraries to tizen Developer so i can create this program , but this it will be my second program on tizen Platform and i am lost by now... anyway i think its clear its a bug on message service program on the watch. Anybody could guide me how to develop a program to use the tapi library on tizen developer or another way to create the package?
Thanks!!

I think you have the Usa variant as you are on sprint
here with the F variant in Europe the providers set up the watch to communicate with the linked phone via data ....
to make it work stand alone i pretty much had to load the earliest firmware i coulc find ... boot unlinked to a phone in stand alone mods...after a full reset ....then load an esim from a different provider...and then i got a watch that ran stand alone calls and texts....
but i pretty much had to break the thing to do it
the reason the providers do this is not because the watch cant do stand alone but because they want you to buy a samsung phone on a contract ...and a watch on a data contract ....and not just a watch on stand alone with a pay as you go esim....

video share on htc fuze

for those of you that dont know video share does not work on the htc fuze it your settings say wap.cingular. att has tried to fix this with no success still waiting on a call back from them. we know that the settings should say ims.cingular butmanually changing it does not work it has to come from htc like that. so it anyone has any suggestion please post. and yes i do have the service from att and it works on other video share phones.
I have had alot of issues with differant devices and VIDEO SHARE, to that i will say this; have them remove the soc code(feature) and then add it back to the account after a soft reset on your device. This has been the process that has corrected mine for many of my devices.
Any relief on this? curious if it is the ROM I am using or if it really isnt working.

strangely my phone sometimes says ims.cingular and I cannot connect and it asks for a password on boot up. Most of the time it is wap.cingular. Weird...
As for videoshare, you have to be on a 3g (H) connection to stream data and talk at the same time. I haven't tried the videoshare, but I will test and see what I get....any other ideas?
Video Share Checklist
I just thought I'd share my experience with getting Video Share to work properly on the FUZE (and on my LG VU) So here it is:
Checklist
3G Service Area: you (and the other party) MUST be in a 3g service area, with at least 2 bars, why 2 bars you ask? well, quality of service mainly, less than 2 bars and your 3G will be very slow, remember you're trying to transmit alot of data with Video share.
A Data Plan: This was a shock, but not really... if you don't want to be charged for every KB of data sent / received in addition to the 35 cents per minute pay per use or whichever plan you have, you must have a good data plan to cover the charges... I don't understand why AT&T feels they must double charge, once for the feature and then for the data to use that feature, MMS Messages do the same... if they charge a high rate for MMS, you shouldnt be charged for the associated DATA, what a rip!
Video Share PPU, Starter, or Premium service (the service itself) -- not much to say but DUH, also the receiver must have this service and an appropriate data plan as mentioned above or you will never see the option on your phone during a call.
IMS APN Feature: (FREE) Although the guy I finally got a hold of to make this all work (who had a thick accent and was hard to understand, but knew what he was doing) told me that video share will work with wap.cingular, there have been reports that it doesn't. When you provision Video share the network automatically changes your APN to ims.cingular, IMS APN feature must be on your account for access or it could give you all sorts of problems form "forbidden" on browsing to rejected emails/mms. If you have a 3G phone this is most likely on your account, it is the new higher speed apn for 3G, maybe that's why the internal customer service code for it is "3GMM" hmm....
Correct settings in your phone: I'm not going to go into those details here, but its obvious, you must have the correct settings.
Correct IMEI: Here's the fun one, I had tried everything above as mentioned in scattered posts throughout the net only to call at&t several times getting frustrated over not getting any results, the final time I called them I ended up talking to some guy in a "special department" related to video share issues. After reviewing all settings on my account he finally figured out the problem (which took him about 2 minutes after getting transfered) the IMEI numbers for my phones were not listed in the system. (blame the dealer I bought the phones from as they are supposed to enter this) there are several places the IMEI's get listed, and I'd think they could easily pluck this information from the network when the phone registers but no, I read him my IMEI information from both lines on my account that video share didn't work for (the FUZE and the VU), he had us remove the batteries as he sent the updates across the network, and BAM the very next call between the phones and video share works like a champ. What this boiled down to is the network didn't know what type of phone I had and what features to turn on and what to do to make the phones talk to each other in a compatible form. I'd think this would cause all sorts of other issues with the network too, not just for video share.
A final note on this: if you change phones, make sure you call and have the IMEI information updated, if I change my FUZE for another FUZE it would probably work, but if I swap the device out for a different model it would not necessarily pick the most compatible features for my phone...
Privisioned Dates: When you go to your online account management and add features, it says they are immediately effective, sometimes this is true, but in the case of my account it likes to post-date to the next bill cycle. This is especially true when you visit an AT&T store, it will definitely post-date there. I had 3 IMS APN features and Video Share features on my account, all with different dates, this is because, I tried to add and 2 people at the store tried to add, to make sure Video Share and IMS are on your account and active / effective TODAY you have no choice but to call customer service and tell them you want them on your account effective immediately. While it will appear on your account management that you have it, don't trust it as it only checks for the feature, not the active dates.
And finally the internet connection: Some people have noted that your connection must be active before the call, this is not true although it is very helpful. The video share negotiation takes place over the phone control channel, when it is determined that you both have the service and compatible phones it will send a message to both phones. They will then try to turn on their data connections and verify with the server whether or not the option should be turned on. If your data is active before the call your video share button will be available instantly as it is for me. If it is NOT then it will take ~20 seconds or more to connect to the net and contact the server to verify, then turn on the option for you. Just make sure your internet works in general and that you can connect and you should have no problems during a normal call.
I hope this helps at least some of the people out there having this issue, and maybe some others having other issues with the network. Sorry for the long post
vs is ok now
OK this is a miracle finally got my HTC fuze to do video share. When I started this thread I was so mad at ATT and htc. Well here is the deal I had tried just about every avenue to get this to work and after reading whitehawk82 post, one of his points stood out.
FIRST make sure you have the latest sim card from ATT and IMS APN Feature is activated, now be aware that ATT needs to reset your entire data service so the ims.cingular can kick in on the ATT fuze. To make sure this is working when you turn on your fuze it will automatically connect to ims.cingular as with all video share phones.
SECOND now that you are connected you would think it would work, well not quite that easy. Now you need to re-install original ATT fuze rom and finally when you go to contacts live video share call will no longer be grayed out. Put back all your info manually for best results sprite restore may put back some incorrect settings.

And this is why Video Share will NEVER take off. It's too ****ing complicated to get working on 2 devices, and it is completely USELESS. Seriously... I talk to people online and we both have webcams, but we don't get on cam just to talk. We just talk. Video is such an unnecessary part of every day communication.

[Q] Anti theft software ?

Hey all ...
I just got my WP7 stolen :-(
I tried to use the tools we have with hotmail to locate, close etc our phones.
And you know what ?
I just discovered that they all use text messages to send the commands to your phone with your phone number !!!
And of course if the thief take off your sim card then you are f*cked up.
So I have been digging around to see if there are more serious solutions and found some much better application on Windows Mobile 6 or Android for example that can detect if you change the sim card, send messages, autolock and such ....
Anyone know if that kind of application exist on WP7 ?
Actually I'm wrong ....
Looks like it can also use push messages directly from hotmail to your phone.
By default that's what it tries, but if your phone isnt logued on on the hotmail push service (or something like that) then hotmail ask you for your phone number and try to lock it with a SMS. And of course if the thief changed your SIM it wont works.
But if i get it right, if the thief change the SIM card and turn your phone on with a full internet data access and let your phone log on on your hotmail account then it receive a push message that will lock it.
I'm not sure exactly how it works, specialy now because I have bought another HD2 and Flashed it exactly like my previous one, so on my hotmail account there's 2 phones and I there's some mixed stuff happening ... ( Makes me think of I ll create another temporary account to use my new phone til I give up on trying to lock my stolen one)
I tried to call Microsoft Hotline, talked with a guy for 20 minuts, he tried to get more info on how it is working exactly and called me back the next day but he couldnt get much more detailed explanations ...
I tried to check on the web but I can t get anything else than just the regular documentation saying how to lock or map your phone ...
the problem is that almost anyone could quite easily get around this, unless the thief is a complete numpty there is little that can be done.
There was some fantastic progams on WM that could be built in to the ROM, so short of flashing a new ROM, it would always report home on what ever SIM card was inplace.
With the tools we have, you have probably got a window of abut an hour before it will be reset, airport moded sim removed or reflashed, after than, unless they are stupid, is a gonna. In saying all of that, even the location tool is mostly useless, unless you catch them going home, once they are in the house it uses network triangulation, which depending on where they live could give you 200 houses to check! inshort, the second you know its gone, find a PC and lock and locate it.
Dont forget to get pictures of the IMIE and serial numbers pus any identifiable marks, even finding it is useless unless you can prove its yours.
as for WP7, there is nothing available yet, i doubt there would be anything useful in the near future either.
I know only antitheif which is only work for 6.5.

My Note just got stolen, help login out of everything.

I just got my Note stolen a few hours ago, I am so pissed right now, but hey what can I do... I live in Nicaragua, so no warranty and no police claim will get it back for me...
Tomorrow I will call my carrier and see if I can block my phone through IMEI number so the son of a **** that stole it cannot use it...
I never kept my gps enabled unless I was using it so no tracking software will be able to track my phone, I already blocked my number with my carrier so I guess there is not much I can do to track it, but I would like to sign out of everything on my phone, and I was just wondering if I changed passwords on every service installed on my phone would the theif still be able to login if I had checked the "remember me" or "stayed logged in" options?
Thanks,

Try to install plan b from the market. You can install it remotely from Google play using a web browser and should be able to get the GPS coordinates of your phone providing the thief has not removed your Google account. Do it asap to increase your chances.
+1 Good idea, However The phone will need to have internet access to receive the remote download.
Dont suppose you had Lookout installed ?? On my device it is un-installable, and i can remotely turn GPS on / off, Track the phone, Wipe everything, Lock the device, and even make the phone scream !! (useful for when you are tracking and a close enough to hear it)
I hope you get it back !!
Changing the password won't let the thief use any of the services you have logged into. The app should request him for the new password. Do it ASAP!
I feel for you man! Had my iPod touch, Optimus 2X and Galaxy SII stolen!

first of all sorry you, that's one of the worst things that can happen to a phone.
if you think the theft is using your phone only with a different simcard you have the following options:
- try planb (as already mentioned above) to locate your phone.
- if you have a google account on the phone, try android lost that will gain you the full control over the phone including locating it, taking photos of the cameras and wiping the complete data of the device out. its a really great tool .
- if you have a Samsung account on your phone, try the samsung dive website with this you can also do things like locating or wiping data view call logs and so on.
if all the above fail you should change the passwords of all your accounts used on the phone, especially the email accounts. also try to contact your provider, really few of them provide a location service based on the imei number of the device. and also some of them offer the service to put the device's imei number to a ban list so the phone is useless at all because it cant login in to the gsm network.
*EDIT*: go to the police and let them give you a document that the phone is stolen, and the imei and serial numbers. give this document to samsung and they will put the device to a blacklist, so the device wont get service/support/repair anymore.
i hope some of this become useful to you
Best thing would be to:
1- Track it (with the app said above) or with Samsung Dive!
2- Find the perp
3- Beat him with a cow bone
4- Retrieve the phone
5- Send it to me for inspection
Hi guys, thanks for your help, I installed Plan B a few hours after the OP, but still no email...I would gladly beat the crap out of the theif, but I fear I won't see my note again, I have already ordered another one, this time I will install every tracking anti theft app available...
Anyhow, after this, I installed Lookout on my Girlfriends Note, and tried out the tracking, the tracking is not that accurate, it positions the phone within a 2 Km radius...any other app that would be more accurate?
Thanks,
Im using avast and i have to say its working well, it has a ton of features, you can make mobile data persistent with a single text making tracking that bit more accurate
combine it with the screaming feature of lookout and you should be able to hear it if you are close enough.
Try samsung dive
http://www.samsungdive.com
Lol samsung dive will dissapear when factory reset

Little late for the original poster but Cerberus is a nice app too. I got in on a free promotion. I have it activated and don't even think about till I get an email saying that I changed my sim. You can remotely hide the app, wipe phone/sdcard have a login screen pop up appear, record video and or audio and map in real time.
Even though I think tracking your kids is creepy, I can see how some parents would love to install it on their kid's phone.
Thanks again for all the info, I will try all these once my new phone gets here.
I have a question though, all of these tracking apps need data connection on the cel phone's side...correct? What if the theif turns off data connection? Is there one that works with only GPS?
Well in avast, you can remotely activate data network even if the thief switches it off, It also has stealth mode where it hides all traces of being installed.
If you are rooted it can even withstand a factory reset.

I've used GPS trakcing with data off before ...it will track you even if the map does not render...afterwards when you get connectivity the map will be displayed along with your tracking info.
GPS don't requires data connection thogh, tracking won't work without data connection.
GPS fix the position without data connection, but for tracking you need to pass that information to server, which needs data connection.

[Q] Why is my Gear S not able to register on TMobile's network anymore?

My wife bought me the international version of the Samsung Gear S (SM-R750W). She said that she researched and from her understanding it should work on the T mobile network. From what I've found though the consensus seemed to be it would not work, or if it did it would be spotty at best depending on the specific towers/area you were in because Tmobile utilizes different network types in different areas.
I decide to give it a shot anyway and went to the T-Mobile store where I signed up for the wearable plan and got a new nano sim card. I was crossing my fingers but as soon as they put the sim card in the watch it came to life. It looked to be working fine but as I left the store I received a text from T-Mobile stating " the SIM for your wearable devices is in an ineligible device. Services to the SIM are locked until it returned to your eligible wearable device".
I pessimistically started thinking well great, there goes that idea. But as I got into my vehicle I shut my phone down and tried to see if the watch can work on its own as a phone when unencumbered from my Note 4 bluetooth/WiFi data connections. It worked perfectly-I started calling my friends and they couldn't believe I was talking on a watch phone. Several I actually felt the call sound quality was better on the watch speaker phone compared to normally speaking on the Note 4. I called customer service but they told me they couldn't see anything and if it was working fine not to worry about it.
For the next eight or 9 hours it worked perfectly and I was using it a lot. I drove around large swaths of town and neither data nor call experienced even the slightest issue - for once I was happy to be wrong.
Eventually, as I am oft to do, I fell asleep. When I awoke this morning the watch was no longer connected to the network. It gave me a message saying it was unable to connect and did I want to scan for additional networks. I selected yes and it was able to find the T-Mobile and ATT networks. T-Mobile was selected and a "registering" notification was displayed. It took awhile but eventually said it was unable to register with the network.
I call T-Mobile and they said pretty much exactly what I expected them to say -that because it was not a T mobile device they could not ensure proper operation. But he said (and he characterized this as "good news", "light at the end of a tunnel" and "viable solution” Seriously said all 3 things.) I could either forget all about the cellular connection and just use this as a companion device OR go and buy a new Gear S from T Mobile if I really wanted that feature.
I’m truly and utterly baffled that he believed his suggestions merited the positive sayings from above. Never in my lifetime has my head been closer to exploding.
After I was finally able to speak again, I explained that it seemed unlikely to be an issue with the watch. If my Gear S was working perfectly yesterday and can still detect Tmobile & ATT networks, then something on your end seems to be preventing registration. He agree to file a ticket with the engineering team and tomorrow I should hear from them hopefully. He also told me to go and try another nano-SIM, gratis, at the Tmobile store. So today I went and as soon as I put the new card in all systems were go. I assumed that I somehow had received a bad card because here again now, data and voice are connected.
This time I didn’t even make it out of the parking lot before it notified me that that it was again unable to register with the network. There is conflicting information regarding the radio frequencies and bands that the different Gear S models have and I didn’t have high hopes. But then it actually did work, WELL, so any ideas as to what is going wrong?
I don't know how I put this in the wrong forum, could one of the mods please delete it? It's already been reposted in the correct forum.

Live Demo Unit

Hello good evening group, I want to ask some questions and I need your help. I'm a user of the S line of this S4, but I've had other devices along my trajectory too. But as I am, I'm used to the usability of lines S, and this one from s6~s7.. I use everything syncing on samsung accouts and google account. Like Every end of the year on my birthday I upgrade. The samsung accouts and Google account makes everything more practical and easy. I recently made an exchange with I gave my s10 plus everything right+R$1,000 in an S20 plus. I've been using it normally in my day to day, more recently I went to update it through the samsung switch, because there was a firmware update available. But after this update I found out that it is live demo. When I bought it, the seller did not inform me that it was a live demo version, so far I used it normally on connection, 4g and etc... After this update, it goes up signal and recognizes the chip... but I can't make more calls or SMS... I went to the technical assistance and they explained to me that it was a live demo version and etc... I always used it with film on the front and back and a cape, I never noticed that he had written on the back much more discreet ``Live demo not for sale'' kkk. And now ?? Has anyone ever experienced this ? This is my only cell phone for work and etc..
contact the seller, tell them to give your old phone and money back or you'll go to the police.
