Cannot get into download mode - Galaxy Tab S2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Complete noob here. Any help in recovering the device would be much appreciated.
I was trying to install a custom ROM on my T713.
1) I started without unlocking the bootloader. I was under the impression that Download Mode is substitute for unlocked bootloader on Samsung devices.
2) I flashed TWRP using Odin. Booted in TWRP and took a backup. But the Internal Storage wouldn't mount for me to save the backup file on PC.
3) I decided to see if I could save the backup file by booting in the regular OS. But then the display got stuck in the loading window ("SAMSUNG").
4) I booted into TWRP again, and tried to (a) reset the file system and then (b) change the file system (first to ext2 then to ext4). Still the Internal Storage wouldn't mount.
5) So according to this thread, I decided to unlock the bootloader.
6) I referred to this thread mentioned on Samsung support forum. Downloaded CF-AUTO-ROOT from firmware.mobi and flashed it with Odin. That's when I got this error:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
:
The tablet won't boot into recovery anymore. The forced reboot (Home + Power + Volume-) would bring me back to this screen.
7) Smart Switch PC software didn't recognize the device.
So, latest update is that I am stuck with this screen and no way out.

Hate to say that but if this is what you could only access you are left with a nice paperweight, Unless you can access other any screens than this.

I feared so. Anyway, thanks for your reply.
Do you have any other wisdom to share in the matter? E.g. where did it go wrong? at what stage should/could I have turned back?

volume down/up and home and power does not help either?

Home + Power + Volume- reboots in the same screen
Home + Power + Volume+ does nothing

That blue screen is not the end a such, as I undestand (I'm still learning), you have 2 options:
1. Boot into download mode: hold down Power & Volume down until the screen switches off then flip straight into download mode by holding Home + Volume Down + Power
2. Flash your tablet with stock ROM with ODIN (there are some tutorials online if you duckduckgo it)

MihanickX's method of emergency flashing

It seems that some people were able to revive their phones using it, so it might be useful.

This will fix no boot logo problem after 2.1 update (maybe this method will also help to restore "dead" phones):
1. Install LG_Android_Driver Ver 1.0
Code:
h*tp://files.gameworld.kz/c5z46n1ukk.html
2. Download and extract KDZ_FW_UPD flasher
Code:
h*tp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=8655201
3. Download ROM (.kdz file) and place it in the flasher folder. You can find some ROMS in this thread:
Code:
h*tp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=802895
4. Press "volume down" key on the phone and connect usb cable.
5. Open Windows Device Manager and disable LGE Android USB Modem in device manager.

}
6. Run "KDZ_FW_UPD.exe" (run it as administrator if you are using Windows Vista/7).
7. Set "Type" to "3GQCT" and open your firmware file.
8. Set "PhoneMode" to "CS_EMERGENCY".
Some information about phones modes:
DIAG - standard flashing mode for phones which are turned on.
EMERGENCY - mode for flashing phones in Emergency (Download) Mode.
CS_EMERGENCY - same thing, but appears to be for non-working phones.
9. Press "Launch software update" to start update.
10. As soon as your phone turns off with sound and animation in the screen you can disconnect it (or continue waiting, but you only will get an error):
11. Now turn on the phone and do a hard reset (On the lock screen simultaneously press and hold the volume up, home and search buttons. After several seconds you will see hard reset dialog). If you want, you can now flash using "DIAG" mode.
Thanks a lot, very useful.
Thanks for this wonderful tip
i followed your guide and i get the LG screen (second one) and it just hangs there.
Any ideas?

ROOT and CWM recovery on galaxy 2 7 3113 easily

hey guys i was looking for rooting my galaxy tab 3113 and found simple and easy way in other forum ....I dont know if its allowed But m posting it out here...it work as charm for me ..hope u like it
notice :i just copy paste link no responsible for any damage or loss!!!
Download imnuts' espresso_recovery.tar.md5
(Use if your GT2 came with UEALCB firmware and it has been updated OTA to UEALD3 firmware, or you're running UEALD3 and not sure if it was updated OTA.)
Download xoomdev's espressowifi-recovery-5-18.tar.md5
(Use if your GT2 is currently running UEALCB firmware or came with UEALD3 firmware out of the box.)
Download nycbjr's cwm-root-gtab2.zip
Download Odin3-v1.85_3.zip
Download Samsung Drivers (Not required if you have already installed Samsung Kies)
Copy cwm-root-gtab2.zip to the ROOT of your sdcard ( /mnt/extSdCard ). This is the sdcard in the slot. The /mnt/sdcard folder is in the internal memory and won't be recognized in recovery.
Turn off your tablet and restart it in download mode by pushing and holding down the Power and Volume DOWN buttons at the same time. Push the Volume UP to get into download mode. Don't plug the tablet into the computer yet.
If you installed Samsung's Kies software, make sure it is closed and not running.
Extract Odin3 v1.85.exe and run it.
Connect the tablet to the computer.
The first box under ID:COM will be yellow and shows the current com port you are connected to. If you can't connect, try another USB port.
In Odin, click the PDA button. Select the espresso_recovery.tar.md5 or espressowifi-recovery-5-18.tar.md5 file you downloaded and click the START button. Let Odin do it's thing. When it's done, the tablet will reboot.
Disconnect the tablet from the computer. Turn the tablet off and restart it in recovery mode by pushing and holding the Power and Volume UP buttons at the same time.
Once you are in recovery, use the volume button to move around and the power button to select an option. Select install zip from sdcard. Choose the cwm-root-gtab2.zip file you already copied to the root of the sdcard.
When the rooting is finished, choose reboot system now in the recovery menu.
That's it. If everything went well, you should now be rooted.

Note3: You might be curious of the Yellow Triangle on the boot screen of Samsung
this is normal as S6500(D) have a Custom Binary Counter. However this also means that your on the
right track for rooting your phone but you can remove it by Installing TriangleAway by Chainfire.
Your Samsung Galaxy S6500(D) is now rooted!.
To confirm, you mast see a "SuperUser" app

HTC One (M7): Encryption was interrupted and can't complete (no external SD card)

I've shut my phone off before going to bed a few nights ago, then when i woke up, i turned my phone on and all i after a default lockscreen is this message :
"Encryption was interrupted and can't complete. As a result, the data on your phone is no longer accessible. To resume using your phone , you must perform a factory reset. When you set up your phone after the reset, you'll have an opportunity to restore any data that was backed up to your Google Account."

( i just borrowed this image from another forum as i cant get a screenshot of mine)
if i stay on this screen i can shut my phone off an on and the volume rocker still works, but the only other option i have is to click the RESET PHONE button.
doing so however only gives me the Android System Recovery mode with the ff options and results i get:
1. reboot : if i choose this, the dead android guy just flashes off and on and i can no longer shut my phone down. have to drain the built in battery to shut it down and try another option.
2. apply update from adb: prompts me to sideload a file.. no idea how to do this.. and i believe usb debugging might be required and i recall my usb debugging mode was off before this issue happened.
3. apply update from external storage : the htc one has a built in sd card (apart from the internal phone storage), and i have no update file on it, nor do i have a way of copying one onto it.
4. wipe data/reset : did so, after which, will need to select reboot option, and will just give same result for option # 1 as above..
5. wipe cache partition : same results as #4.
6. apply update from cache: no idea how to do this either.
i would desperately want to recover my files from the built in external storage. but i'm crossing my fingers anyone can help me get the phone fully functional. factory state will be fine. help please..
Anyone who can help? Thanks

[SOLVED] Stuck on stock recovery, adb/fastboot/flash from sd wont work

Solved: This thread may be deleted, sry for bothering you.
I wasnt aware of how to get into fastboot from the stock recovery: Turn off device (Hold down VOLUME UP, VOLUME DOWN and POWER at the same time for a few seconds), remove SD card (in case there's a ZIP that will get auto executed) and boot into bootloader (VOLUME DOWN and POWER for a few seconds).
Old post:
Hello Community!
I'm stuck on the stock recovery with neither fastboot nor adb recognising my device and flashing from SD card giving me "check cid failed, Invalid operation".
How did it come to this:
Tried out Costum ROMs (Linage & Carbon),
restored old backup with TWRP
thought I'd wanna see the stock ROM,
flashed boot image and stock recovery according to this guide
thought it would be a good idea to reboot
regret the last part cause stuck on recovery.
What does it look like atm:
When I turn on the phone, it will stay in the booting screen for some time (white background, "HTC powered by android"), go black, go booting screen again and then go stock recovery (black background, red rectangle with exclamation mark inside)
So I hold VOLUME UP and press POWER, which gets me here:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Tried them all, check cid failed, invalid operation.
When connecting to PC, Windows gives me the devices recognition sound, but adb and fastboot act as if no connection:
What else did I try:
Uninstalled HTC drivers, reboot, install HTC sync manager, uninstall sync manager but leave drivers.
tried different ports and cables as well as SD cards
I don't get why it won't flash from SD card. I tried with different TWRPs in zip, rar and img format, named them 0P8BIMG.* and 0P6BIMG.*
When there's no SD card inside it gives me an error, so it does recognize the SD card.
Last but not least about the bootloader: I locked and unlocked the bootloader shortly before this all happened, so I guess the bootloader is unlocked. However after all I'm merely a noob in all of this, so what do I know.
Any unbricking suggestions?
