Mate 40 Pro Plus availability for import to UK? - Huawei Mate 40 Pro Questions & Answers

Been trying to find somewhere that will supply a Mate 40 Pro plus model to the UK and not having any luck so far.
Also not wanting to be ripped off and pay above retail price! This seems to be the case right now as demand is obviously out stripping supply but if anyone has any information about who has stocks and is willing to export for reasonable cost then please let me know.
Thanks in advance

Where to get the 4-1 Cable other than Expansys

I live in Singapore and would like to buy the 4-1 cable for my new Dopod U1000. I looked at the Expansys page and discovered that it costs UKP13.x and the international shipment costs UKP22.x ... I really don't want to pay UKP22.x shipment for something that costs less... I am assuming HTC makes this cable as well in Taiwan. Can it be sourced there? I happen to be flying to Taipei on Monday for business. Thanks for your help.
MobilePlanet in US also carries it but its even worse :
Cable costs US$ 23.95
Shipping costs US$ 79.95
Please an Asian source???

maybe you can ask people in US or UK to buy it for you then post it to you
Only international shipping option on these sites are 3-4 day DHL etc and hence the price. Given all this hardware is made somewhere in Asia I can't believe there is no where I can source this item...
wu5262, with your close links to HTC, can you confirm whether this cable is made by them in Taiwan or OEM'med somewhere out of mainland China etc?
Thanks & Best Regards

hm.. this thread seem to be inactive for 3 years. just adding a website for others to refeer to. Cheaper to buy from this shop than to buy from china.
substitute the *** for www because i'm a new member, i'm not allowed to post links. Thnks to the member Kasush for the original link. This web ships to all commonwealth countries and some others.

Anyone have an extra stylus for AT&T tilt?

My friend lost his stylus for his AT&T Tilt, so I thought I'd ask if anyone would be kind enough to donate their extra one. I only have spare Touch Pro 1 and Touch Pro 2 (Verizon versions) stylus. They won't fit in his phone.
Anyways, if anyone would be kind enough to donate to a fellow member, we would appreciate it!
P.S. I know there are websites that may sell replacements, but I thought I would ask.
You can get two off ebay for under $3 shipped. Make sure you choose a US seller so you are not waiting forever for a shipment from hong kong or something!
Awesome, thanks! There is a seller that is less than 10 miles from me.

Where i can buy this phone?

I need some secure place to buy the P10, i searched in Amazon and it cost $710 without warranty. There's some offer or good price to get it? Thanks in advance and have a nice day.
:good:
you could use taobao.com,which sells this phone in china and provides international delivery.
Just want to ask
What is the offical website from Huawei that I can buy online
https://www.vmall.com/ or https://huawei.world.tmall.com/
Thanks

Oneplus 5 [Australian Discussion]

We should discuss buying and using the oneplus 5 in Australia here as it won't be sold to Australia.
Things to discuss could include:
Place in which we bought it
Price
4g bands ( looks like A5000 supports band 28 and 1800mhz for 4g plus. They also say it has universal bands. What do you think of that?)
Reparability
Etc
Share your thoughts down below if your live in Oz or nz.
From New Zealand here, hoping there is no "global" and "Chinese" models with different bands supported so I can simply buy off Aliexpress or Gearbest etc and get it sent straight here.
Same. I'm also looking at kogan/**** smith as they sold the 3t too at a low price.

I can't seem to find videos or reviews with different models like the 3t.
All I can see is the a5000 which supposedly has international bands.
Can you correct me if I'm wrong.
Here's the bands the one plus 5 supports (a5000)
Looks like band 28 and 1800mhz is supported which are 4gx or 4g+ compatible.
Optus 4g bands: http://www.optus.com.au/shop/suppor...ty?requestType=NormalRequest&id=1644&typeId=5

I'm looking into the best ways to buy the oneplus and ship it here.
It looks like these 3rd party sites are expensive compared to the US$ then converted to Aud. It might be worth to buy it in the US then buy shipping from USA to australia via shopmate Australia Post
Hey Guys,
Ive been itching to get the Oneplus 5, ive decided that im just going to go ahead and get it directly from Oneplus in the US but I don't which freight forwarder to trust with this. Has anyone bought anything this pricey from the US before and had a good experience? I know I could just go with shopmate but they are slow and I kind of need to get this before I move.
Thanks for any feed back.

The main one I would trust is the shipmate from Australia post. But if for a bit extra there's some 3rd party sites that sell grey imports to Australia that u can check out.
What would the total price be with the oneplus + shopmate?
Apparently prices are going to drop in 2 days. Also more 3rd party websites will sell it then too
http://ausdroid.net/2017/06/26/oneplus-5-goes-on-sale-tomorrow-where-will-you-be-getting-yours-from/
That websites gives us some useful information.
OP5 only one model A5000 allows for band 28 700mhz .. Christmas bought a OP3t from Nextbuying.. running global oxygen OS ans support OTA update..
Anyone planning to buy one and import to Australia or NZ? If so where from?

I think you've got the right idea @Jamie_oppo, I ordered it and got it sent to ShopMate.
Price of the Oneplus 5 128GB and the car charger was AU$779.35 (including a $19.01 foreign transaction fee from my bank), according to the shopmate shipping calculator it will cost AU$32.85 to get it sent to NSW, making the total AU$812.20.
Whilst I know that they grey imports are usually ok, I think there will be less risk getting it from oneplus direct and going with the slower Australia Post.
I'll let you know how it performs on Telstra when it arrives. It just got to Shopmate at about 3am AEST so shouldn't be long now ... I hope ...
Edit: Since you asked about price I just thought I would share my own comparison on the matter in case anyone else was interested ...
notes on the prices, all in AU$, all Australian stock prices not grey imports to try and keep things fair ... ish ...
Oneplus 5 128GB (With one Accessory) $812.20 (baseline price)
Pixel XL 128GB $1419.00 ($606.80 Saving)
LG G6 64GB $1149.00 ($336.80 Saving) (Official Australian Release not grey import from Kogan which can be had for $699 or $719 right now, normally $779)
Samsung Galaxy S8+ 64GB $1349.00 ($536.80 Saving)
HTC U11 64GB $999.00 ($186.80 Saving) ... and just for good measure:
iPhone 7 Plus 128GB $1419 ($606.80 Saving)
A lot of the tech reviewers I've seen have been complaining about the price of the OP5 ... I don't get it, even to pay shipping to Australia I am saving a good sum of money compared to other flagships, take the Pixel and Samsung, for some people that is about $100 shy of a full weeks wage in savings. Seems like good value to me.
What are your thoughts?
Yeah that's not a bad price for the 128gb and dash car charger.
I would also buy a converter from us plug to au plug and see if dash charge works. They are like 10$ from bunnings or kogan.
Good luck and keep us updated. It should work good with telstra and 4g+.
Hahah the zip I tried posting in my device thread and it posted here lol. Please ignore that
I've already ordered a cheapo $2.50 adaptor from ebay, it should still work, the official specs say the charger is rated for (quote) "Input: 100-240V~50/60Hz 0.6A"
What are your thoughts on price compared to other flagships as in the edit above?
Yeah its way cheaper.
Everything is way more expensive here.
The s8 is way to expensive and I wouldn't get the lg as for the skin and older processor. And the HTC is OK but nothing that special.
The one plus is a bargain compared to the rest.
Yeah I don't understand when they say it's too close to flagship price. Its still half the price here for the base model. That just shows we get ripped off here.
I would properly buy the base model for $633 aud plus 32$ aud for shipping. I don't know if there is a fee for my bank.

It would appear that we do get massively ripped off, but the thing is these big companies won't change unless we ALL (even the non-tech lovers among us) do something about it that hurts their bottom line, take for example when adobe first brought in their creative cloud, it was so much more expensive than in the US, their excuse ... "Local Optimisations" ... WTF we speak the exact same language you dumb arses... then the government had their IT price enquiry and the price magically came down ...
I only went for the 128GB version for the storage, I don't give a damn about the RAM (haha that rhymed ... lol), On my current phone I have about 45GB of music alone
Your bank will most likely have an international purchase fee, it would be as rare as a dragon egg if they didn't, you would need to check with them exactly what it is but it's usually a fixed transaction fee (sometimes 10-25 cents) plus a percentage of the whole transaction, or they will just take their cut out of the exchange rate (say for example the exchange rate $0.75 they would only give you maybe $0.72), Just depends on how they handle it. Take for example my bank, they charged "2.5% of the amount of the International Transaction". You can normally find this info in a "Fee Schedule", my banks is here for your reference: ingdirect com au / pdf / Orange_Everyday_Fees_and_Limits_Schedule pdf.
I hope that helps you

I'm looking into 3rd party websites. I found this one. U got a better deal and u got a dash car charger with it.
Lots of ones I find are the cn version of phone (Chinese)
So far looks to be the cheapest to do it your way with shopmate
Also found this on eBay

Where to buy Xiaomi Mi8 for the best price?

Hello XDA Users!
Can You please tell me:
Where to buy Xiaomi Mi8?
I've heard that the lowest price I would get on Aliexpress but I never bought anything from that site.
Is is a good idea? What to look out for?
Buy only from MI official sellers? How about tax and other things when shipping to EU?
I don't know much about the taxes charged in the EU, but I purchased a white 6/64gb mi 8 from Joybuy for 361$ including shipping which im pretty sure is the lowest you'll find right now. They accept paypal so that adds a little bit of peace of mind.
I bought my SE on Honorbuy since it was the lowest price I could find that provided EU shipping. You only pay for the phone and there's no tax bs.
https://www.honorbuy.com/237-xiaomi-mi-8
You can get a Mi 8 there for 410 € in total ( including DHL shipping which means the phone should come to you within 3 days ) .
But if anyone knows of a better choice for EU residents, please do mention it.

Yeah, on THIS SELLER
it would cost 450 USD which translates into 390 Euros. That's with the DHL Shipping ( which you must select if you don't want to be assf%cked by customs and tax ) . This is the cheapest as far as I can see.
I've heard a rumor that it's good to have./buy an (extra) insurance (?) as that would prevent customs and tax and choose shipment from China to UK and than from UK to other EU country (that way we avoid paying Value Added Tax cause its a internal EUnion trade).
I ask again as I'm a complete Aliexpress noob - what are the basic things that I should avoid when buying stuff there? I don't want to loose a big amount of money by making some well known by Aliexpres users cardinal mistake.

Read the description of the product ( they often tell you which shipping method to pick to avoid customs ), check the feedback and see how many orders the product has ( sellers should be more experienced if they processed more orders and if the feedback to the product and the seller are great ) .
Sellers are nowadays pretty great, it's the buyers who are mostly idiots who don't bother to read what the seller wrote and fail to choose properly/fail to give proper shipping info and then say things like " Hur hur, Aliexpress sucks, it's a scam".
I order pretty much everything I can from Aliexpress (mechanical keyboards, cases, mice, headphones, etc. ) and even when the product didn't arrive ( one time ), I got a refund.
I can't guarantee that every seller is perfect but you can always send the message to the seller and ask them in PROPER AND EASY TO READ ENGLISH ( they're Chinese, don't write complex essays and expect 100% of it being understood ) and they will give you all the info you need.
It's in their interest to sell and to have a customer which will post positive feedback.
I know I sound patronizing but buyers on Aliexpress are most often retarded and blame the sellers for it.
I'm honestly more hesitant when it comes to ordering from eBay than from Aliexpress.

Because a lot of good deals say " the seller doesn't ship to your country" , meaning I have to contact the seller and wait a ton for them to reply if they even ship to Croatia ( which is in EU but I still have to ask for some reason ) , let alone to know if the shipping isn't too high ( it's interesting how you have to pay more for shipping within the EU than from China to EU but whatever ).
On Aliexpress you have all the info in front of you and you can choose various shipping methods. Everything is automated in places where it should be.
