Firmware upgrade after ictfix Google installation - Huawei P40 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi from Italy
i have installed Google services thanks to ictfix.net but downgrading the firmware to 151 version
It will possible to make an upgrade to it without suffering a Google loss? If so, should I wait for an OTA or should I need a manual way?
thanks in advance
Francesco

Hi Franco,
If you use the search function you can find plenty of information about this. You can update without issues, normally over OTA but some people update manually.

[Q] Can't receive 4.2 OTA update

Hi guys,
I'm a proud owner of a HTC One M7 International Unlocked U.S and so far I coudn't upgrade it to Android 4.2 via OTA (it's still running the stock 4.1). How can I proceed in order to get it running version 4.2? Is it possible to update it to Android 4.2 via USB? Is root needed in order to do that? Thank you very much.

EddyOS,
The software number is 1.36.599.1 and Android Version 4.1.2
Going by this thread (which I found by searching, something you should become familiar with ) there seem to be other on the same build saying there are things missing:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43272550
Should point you in the right direction
This another thread is not related to the updates but it helped me understood this version is for LATAM (Mexico) and probably it's the cause I'm not receiving the update via OTA. Any options left?

[Q] 4.3 OTA Update on Rooted & Custom Recovery

Hello everyone,
So I have been getting constant notifications on my HTC One about the 4.3 update with Sense 5.5.
I would like this update but my phone is currently rooted and it is running TWRP as the custom recovery. I am currently running the stock ROM.
Can I go through with the OTA update or is there another way I can get the 4.3 update?
Thanks
I have exactly the same problem as you, I have made a post and asked basically the same question, I really really hope one of the experts on here can help us out

You need stock recovery to install the OTA update. Don't believe being rooted matters.
Thanks for the info, any idea where I would find this and how to install
Thanks

I can see in the list there that there is 3.63.161.6 OTA file – Vodafone UK (United Kingdom) but my phone is on Vodafone Spain, so that will be the wrong one will it not ?

[Q] Rollback from 23.2.A.0.278?

Hi Guys,
Really need some help here.
Received my Z3C yesterday, got too excited and upgraded it to 23.2.A.0.278
I believe it is a firmware of 5.0.1 from German
I cannot find any info to root it or rollback yet, it might be out there but in German?
I would like to find a way to
A) Rollback to kitkat and root it
or if I can
B) Root it
The main reason is
1. Get rid of tons of bloatwares from Telekom.de
2. I miss using remote play through my data plan, no wifi needed. ( Yes playing my ps4 anywhere outside. I had really good connection in Seattle area for Tmobile LTE with my Z1 @ around 40 mbps, i really miss that) Root would be able to bypass the wifi check of a modified version of the remote play apk by scriptkitten posted a while ago. Even though thread was removed by admin already...
If any one heard of any, please help!
Thank you!

To rollback to kk, you will need the following: FlashTool and the FTF (aka rom file)
You can get the FTF via XperiaFirm. Please note that not all version of kitkat is rootable without unlocking bootloader.
Just follow this 'official' tutorial and you are all good.

Install EMUI 5 on EVA L09C521B140

As the title says, how can I install the android 7 OTA on my P9 EVA L09C521B140? In the post http://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/rom-stock-rom-eva-l19c636b168-t3419586
I saw that the OTA for NXT-L09C521B140, it serves me the same? In what changes?
Thank you very much
I'm interested in this as well. I'm assuming you're interested in unbranding your phone as I am? Got it from a carrier, right?
If you find out anything regarding this please do let me know.

That post is old and it hasnt been updated it ages, if you want to know the latest firmware for your C521, best to download an app called Firmware Finder and check in there, B361 is the official released Android 7 firmware.

Hi, thanks for replying.
This is only the second day I have this new phone. I got it from my carrier so it has their brand at boot, the crappy bloatware they tend to put etc.
What I would like to do (at least until the devs manage to release a stable CM version for the phone) I'd like to get the OFFICIAL stock rom (unbranded, like bought from a store)
Could you point me somewhere where I could find how to do it, where to start etc? I'm all for learning myself but a start-point would be nice.
If I'm not mistaken, the model is EVA-L09 so C521 would be the variant? and B140 the firmware version, correct? And what's with the "cust" version at the bottom? carriers firmware?
Also, I've been reading and apparently NOUGAT is still in beta for these phones? So I guess I'd like to update to latest MM, and then update whenever they decide to release OTA.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT* TL;DR, Basically, I want to unbrand the phone. Remove my carriers bloatware. Just like a store bought phone.

If you look through the guide section of this forum, you will find what you been looking for. If you are looking at debranding and getting on to Nougat, you can follow this guide. Also, Nougat (EMUI 5.0) is now being officially rolling out but at a very slow pace.

Question Need advice for the G998U/DS and living in France

Hi guys,
I need advice for the s21 Ultra that i bought on Rakuten. In the description the seller said it was an international/US version and at this time I didn't know that it could cause problems knowing that I live in France. I have the G998U/DS version
For now the phone is working perfectly. I don't have all the problem i can see in other thread like the broken GPS, a poor network, wallet broken etc. Everithing is ok.
But i need advice for the last update with Android 13. Actually i get the Android 12. And of course the phone does not offer me any updates. I know this is because i have a US version and i live in France.
So question 1 : Do you think I will eventually get the update in the future ?
Question 2 : If I install the update by flashing the phone, won't I have all the problems that others have with this us version and living in France ?
Thanks for your support fox.

Hi,
If everything is working out of the box, then you shouldn't worry much. It's always better to install the update via OTA. It doesn't matter where you live/use the device, as long as there's an update for your device (Snapdragron chipset and CSC), it should automatically show up. If you want to install the update manually, then it's better to download the official update via Frija and install the update via Odin.
Hi,
Thanks a lot for your answer. It help me a lot.
About the update, i read everywhere that where we live/use the device is impact the update. For now i don't have any update that show up. I am in Android 12 and i should have the android 13 update.
Lot of people said that i probably never had the update because it's an import us version and live in France.
What about that ? Do you thinks i will get the update in the future ?
Thanks again
It seems you are on a March update. I have a feeling your device's was a locked device which was then unlocked...I could be wrong through...https://samfrew.com/model/SM-G998U/ Here's what I could pull up regarding your device's update. You need to careful on which file you download as I don't see any OXM ROMs for US devices...they are provided by carriers.
Ok,
I think in my case, update will not be possible. I'll stay in Andoird 12 until next phone. Never buy again in Rakuten ahah.
Thanks for all your help.
Remove SIM, use VPN to connect US and try update over wifi.

Just try and not working but that was a good idea
When i chek on Frija, he give me this :
What do you think about this update ?
Edit : this firmware contains these files
If you are sure of the CSC, go ahead. The reason is yours is not OXM rom so you have to be extremely careful when choosing the files.

Ok, thanks, i think i'll do the update.
To be sure, you mention a OXM ROM but i can see that i have o OYN rom like you see in this screen :
I really can't place the device's region. There's no region called GCF in Samfrew. I feel it's a subset of another region. Dunno
Finally I did not dare to flash my phone, I am too afraid that I can not use it anymore
Anyway, thank you very much for your help
