Question Official MUII 12.5 Global. Any link and tutorial to flash CN versions? - Xiaomi Mi 11

Hi! I buyed a CN version of Mi 11. Is there any link with the official Global rom for Mi 11 that was rleased today ? Any tutorial?
Thanks!

As far as I know, the Mi 11 Global version won't be available before February 25th (at least here in Europe), so I doubt the global ROM is available yet. Most people recommend the xiaomi.eu ROM over the global ROM because it has some extra features and so on.
I recommend you use Xiaomi.eu's ROM, there's a thread explaining how to do it here. Also, don't forget to unlock your bootloader - you need to wait 7 days before it can be unlocked, so if you start the process today, you'll be able to flash custom ROMs in a week.

Thanks guys!

Did you managed to install it ? When I try, it send me back to bootloader. (Using Miui 12.5 EU)

Installation ok for me. Like u i was on xiaomi.eu lastest. there is a smalll error : This error is caused because the tool verifies if the device’s bootloader has been locked or not. Since you used the ‘clean all’ or ‘save user data’ option, the bootloader is not locked and the error is shown. This is a problem with the tool itself and is nothing to be worried about since the verification takes place after the flash is fully complete.

You don't mind if I abuse you since you the first known to successfully flash the global rom?
Therefore, my bunch of questions are:
1. Did you use the fastboot version of rom (unzipped tgz)?
2. You did dirty flash form eu rom or did you clear data before flash?
3. You don't have any modem issue, all mobile bands and both wifi (2.4 and 5)?
4. Like first impression: do you still experience massive battery consumption?
5. What are major differences between eu and global?
6. Is the rom smooth and responsive or you experience any malfunctions so far?
7. Google Pay works? If you don't use it, could you be so kind and install safety net tester and report the results?
8. Could you still use phone calls recorder?
Thank you for your patient and contribution.

Yes of course
1. fastboot version
2.Form xiaomi.eu rebooting in faastboot mod and flashing fastboot version with mi flash with clean all option.
3. No mobile or wifi issues
4. all gms are installed ( google phone dialer and sms )

I don't want to install the xiaomi.eu because of the OTA updates and more. I want to flash the official global version of miui.

For this official global rom I still need to unlock the bootloader or can I flash over the chinese version? Sorry for the nob question. I'm new to Xiaomi phones.

Just as a warning - if you decide to flash the official ROM, DO NOT RE-LOCK YOUR BOOT LOADER.

hello I have my mi 11 on the global rom for 1 week
I flashed my phone with the fastboot rom (adb) and everything went well (if the phone restarts in fastboot mode, force the boot in recovery mode and does a data factory reset whip)
google pay works fine for me
my phone works without problem (no slowdown, no problem with the wifi connection on the phone, all Google services work perfectly)
after the rest has already been said

Anyone got a working TWRP for Mi 8 global? MIUI 10.

As title. I've tried like 5 different TWRP versions linked from all over the Mi 8 forums and none have worked for me. Any and all versions have made the ROM unable to boot, every restart will load recovery instead and I have to flash stock boot to get the ROM to work. Bootloader unlocked, ROM rooted by having Magisk create a patched boot cos every other way also failed.
I'm also looking for it.

Currently https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-8/development/recovery-twrp-3-2-3-0-mi-8-t3837745 this version working but you've to format all of your data then flash your rom. I know its not the standard solution and even I'm waiting for official TWRP for our beloved Mi 8.
You need to choose Format Data first, Reboot again to Recovery, and then flash the DM Verity and Encryption Disabler.
After that, you can go ahead to flash any ROM you like.

Believe me, it worth the efforts! It would be much better than staying with crappy MIUI 10 Global Stable.
Currently, I'm with MIUI EU 10.0.6.0 Stable and I don't want to go back to stock MIUI Stable, just don't forget to install Magisk 17.2 for root access, replace the GPS.conf with your preferred country server URL (I believed it should be Malaysia) - look for a thread by @RainGater for the complete walkthrough - and although it is not necessary, it would be better to edit the default Xiaomi EU build.prop to change the region to match your country (by default it is set to Romania or some EU country, I forgot)

I don't actually have a problem with my ROM. My GPS works fine, and I've already gotten root on my stock Global. Right now in my journey with Android which started with the HTC Desire Z, I don't need a custom ROM, I just need root for the occasional app that needs it I do have root now, but would love TWRP too so I can make full backups. Will check out your links regardless, thanks!

The Android 12 beta ROM comes in the form of a .tgz extension, commonly referred to as a Fastboot ROM. To flash this ROM, you also need to have a Windows PC and phone with an unlocked bootloader. Instructions to unlock the bootloader of your phone can be found on your device’s subforums on XDA.
To flash the downloaded file, follow the instructions below:
Download the MiFlash Tool on your PC that can be found here. After downloading, extract the tool and install it. It is also advised to have ADB and Fastboot installed.
Reboot your phone into Download mode by powering it off and then pressing both the Power and Volume Down buttons together.
Connect your phone to the computer using the USB cable.
Download the Fastboot ROM .tgz file and extract it and make sure you remember the extract location, as you will need to paste the address into MiFlash Tool. Make sure there are no spaces in the extract location path.
Run MiFlash Tool on your PC and in the address bar within the tool, paste the extract location from Step 4.
Click “Refresh” within MiFlash and the app should automatically recognize your device.
Click “Run” within MiFlash to flash the ROM file to the device.
The progress bar within MiFlash will turn green, which indicates that the ROM was successfully installed. Your device should boot automatically to the new version.

Yes, the camera works and the Google services are working fine but this build is for testing , not to use daily, for most people I would advise to wait longer
You might have issues with third party apps that haven't been optimised yet for Android 12 etc

I think you can flash anything these days, if it doesn't work for any reason you can go back, there's unbrick and rollback fix on YouTube
You just have to delete about 8 lines of code and then you can flash backwards as well as forwards

There is no miui apps if those are important to you, its not ready for grandma yet!

Not worth it yet for most people imo

Which variant of MI 11 ultra do you have global or Chinese

Question update for mi 11 ultra version 12.5.7.0

i am a mi 11 ultra user, i gought it from China, and i have already unlocked it and flash it to global version Miui 12.5.5.0, now my device shows for an existing update of version Miui 12.5.7.0, which is already dowmloaded to my device, but the device cannot execute it.
i am trying since days to find a way to update my phone to version 12.5.7.0 without success, any body can help to solve my problem.
thank you!
Is that downloaded ROM is fastboot or flashable .zip file ?
xiaomi.eu_multi_MI11Pro_MI11Ultra_V12.5.7.0.RKACNXM_v12-11
this is the name, i don't know what kind of ROM!
The update was received automatically trough OTA or did you downloaded the update manually ?
I had to download the full 4GB or so 15.5.7 update because the incremental one wasn't working.
Please let me know if you need assistance on installing the full update. You can find the rom on one of the threads on this forum.
Good luck !

From the filename it's not the Global ROM but the Xiaomi.EU custom ROM.
This would also mean it's an update to be flashed using TWRP.
Sadly for now the update through system settings doesn't work as TWRP doesn't presently support this feature.
So you need to download the update (which you apparently did ), then boot into TWRP and flash the update from there.

Reboot to TWRP ( use can use the shortcut in settings, device settings, my device and click on the 3 dots top right for menu). Once in twrp, enter screen lock password press return. Select install, select update zip file and slide the slider to the right to flash.
Once done select wipe cache and dalvik, slide the slider to the right to wipe, then select reboot system. This will not format your data as long as it's the same ROM branch you are updating, IE EU weekly to weekly, stable to stable or stock to same stock.
It will take longer to reboot first time but as long as you see miui and 5g, just wait, it will be fine.

You need TWRP to flash that
here is the problem, i have downloaded the TWRP and followed the instructions but the device booted in Chinese language, i have mixed up and stopped the procedure!
Did twrp boot in to Chinese or the ROM? If it's twrp, just type in your screen lock password, then look for settings and select the globe to change to English.
If your ROM is now in Chinese, you flashed the wrong ROM.

my ROM is global, the phone was in Chinese and i have unlocked the bootloader after waiting 336 hours, then flash the Chinese ROM to Global V12.5.5.0, after that i had a message that there is a new update to V12.5.7.0 and here i have stuck!
Yay done with the Mi 11 Pro, only thing I didn't notice was reboot after installation not sure where that is, had to manual restart but updated none the less.

Which ROM ???

I have a Redmi Note 9 running MIUI 12.5 .4 Global on Android 11.
Some time back Miui removed call recording facilities, which was annoying, but for some time now an update (not sure which one) has caused intermittent problems with the proximity sensor, which is even more annoying.
It has been suggested that I re-flash the ROM, but if I am going to do that I wonder if anyone can tell me which ROM I could use as an alternative that will have the MI Phone app in it so I can use call recording again.
Anyone??

What is the code name of your phone and what rom currently(full name).
Example:Lime/Gauguin/Joyeuse/merlin etc..
V12.5.3.0.RJOMIXM
In About Phone it simply says Redmi Note 9, but I think it is Merlin.
V12.5.4(RJOMIXM)

So initially you had the Miui dialer and after an update the google dialer?
You can flash an older stock rom or Indonesian stock rom**(**any, all have the call recorder).
For that you must unlock the bootloader https://en.miui.com/unlock/index.html
then use this tool: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/flash-tool-guide-use-xiaomi-flash-tool.4262425/
I had a Redmi 9A before, and it had the MIUI dialer which was swapped to the Google one on an update. I broke the phone so bought the Redmi Note 9 which already had the Google Dialer, so I used Magisk to install the 'Call Recorder' but an update to the ROM broke that.

Sorry to come back again - but I wonder if you could clarify for me -
There are two types of ROM available for download:
Fastboot - which does not interfere with programs and data
Recovery - which has various versions, one which preserve data and programs through to one which wipes everything. (https://c.mi.com/thread-2002748-1-0.html)
I am not sure which of these, if any, would be best suited to a phone where the new ROM is a different regional ROM already installed.
Can you advise?

I have not flashed any yet.
I have the Global ROM installed at present.
Using the 'Recovery' method seems the simplest - flashing from the SD card - but I don't know if this method will work and flash an Indonesian or Indian ROM over a 'Global' one.
Or is the only way to change to a different regional ROM to use the flash tool and the file 'flash_all_except_storage.bat ' to wipe everything and start again installing programs etc.

Do a backup with Micloud and/or Miphone assistant.

How To Guide Chinese MIUI on Global phone models!

I came to this just by occasion while trying different things with the phone.
Please keep in mind that there were 4 testers, but only 2 successful installations have been reported. Please consider participating in testing
So, the instruction itself:
Download the latest china fastboot ROM
Download your preferred, but one of the latest Recovery global ROM (I recommend Taiwan)
From recovery archive, with the help of payload-dumper-go extract vendor partition:payload-dumper-go -p vendor payload_bin_or_recovery_rom
Flash China ROM, then reboot to fastbootd: fastboot reboot fastboot
Flash vendor: fastboot flash vendor vendor.img
Flash patched vbmeta (you can find it yourself)
Now the system should boot just fine (dm-verity still may occur, but that's not critical)
How to OTA:
After the system prompts you for reboot, reboot into fastbootd: adb reboot fastboot and flash your vendor again, then flash pathced vbmeta
Problems:
On POCO, POCO launcher is being installed and it doesn't work. The fix is down this post
No Google services included, flash WeebGApps in Magisk. SafetyNet attestation WON'T WORK! AT ALL!
Everything else is working just fine (Camera, NFC, 5G)
POCO fix:
First of all, you have to enable USB debugging and installing apps via usb. Because the launcher is "blinking", you will have to get to developer options via quick settings. It might not work, so firstly get to any application from notification or quick settings button.
Once you've done that, install magisk via adb:adb install magisk.apk
Now you have to open it: adb shell monkey -p magisk.package.name (look for it in settings) -v 1
Patch boot image with magisk as usual and flash it
Open magisk again with the same method. Or flash via PC: adb push module.zip your/desired/location; adb shell; su; magisk --install-module module.zip
Flash P2Mi.zip
Reboot and enjoy
Hi, could you please kindly provide a url link to the Chinese roms?
Thanks.

Thanks for the link.
I suppose you mean "Global phone models" by the Android devices other than Xiaomi & Redmi?
Have you tried flashing MIUI roms downloaded from the official site (https://www.miui.com/download.html) straight to Global phone models? And how was that?

Yep. If so, it just reboots into recovery saying that NV data is corrupted

The funny thing is that any other Xiaomi device just boots normally and only we are unique. And as for this phone it's got 2 versions: camellia (for china), and camellian (global)

So for the same model, for example, Redmi Note 10, Xiaomi developed a version (named "camellia") to sell in mainland China, and another (named "Camellian") for oversea market?

Ok, I see.
So am I right in saying that Chinese roms (on the official website listed here https://www.miui.com/download.html) customized for domestic model (ex. Camellia) cannot be installed on Global model (ex. Camellian)?

Yes. And it looks like the reason is vendor partition. I can't tell exactly what makes it crash with Chinese vendor

I understand now.
Why not simply install a Global miui for Camellian (https://new.c.mi.com/global/miuidownload/detail/device/1900390), rather than use a Chinese Rom customized for Camellia on Camellian?

Ok. Btw, how do you get to know if the version of Redmi Note 10 is Camellia or Camellian?

Build prop
i could flash both latest MIUI 13 dev (13.0.3.1.13) and stable (V13.0.8.0.SKSCNXM) without doing anything from your thread
cams and nfc (didnt try 5G since i dont have coverage) work well
im not sure if for older MIUI versions you can just flash it without requiring any steps from the post
(dev miui, always uses blue miui logo)
so i suppose flashing system.img china over could work?

Are you sure you got camlliaN, and not just camellia?
It's really interesting topic. In my case if I do not flash vendor I get rebooted into Recovery saying NVData is corrupted. For the other guy it didn't even boot, throws to fastboot
