Question Anyone using the phone with the silicone case+s pen? - Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

Hey. Can anyone share their experience with using the s21 ultra with its silicone case+s-pen? Is it that big and heavy? Any limitations? I want to upgrade from note 10 but I am worried that I may not be able to use the s-pen properly.

I have it. Fits well adds some width but no weight to speak of. S pen works well . I use a spigen case monday to Friday for more protection as I have little use for the pen at work but use it a lot at weekend

I also have it. Back in the day I had the original Note, then the Note 3, and ultimately never really used the S pen a lot, so my next phone didn't have it. I decided to try it out again and got the pen/case combo. So far, again, I haven't used it much. I do have a Spigen Liquid Air case I can switch to if I find I NEVER use the pen, but for now I'm sticking with the case+pen to keep it handy to give me a chance to find a use for it. The extra width doesn't really bother me (previous phone was an S20U).

I have it and love it.. Good protection, no extra weight basically. If you have a pet, hair tends to stick to the back of the case. Once you put it on, you will notice how the left side is thicker than the right side due to the s pen, but the feeling of the case being uneven on the sides goes away rather quickly. If you use the spen a lot, then I recommend this case.

I have it, but the s-view cover. It's just the silicon case + spen but with the flip. I love it so much, it protects your screen pretty well.

I have the silicone case with pen. For me it proves the need to keep the pan silo in the phone.
Consider that the phone is designed to hold in left hand (since most of the planet is right handed). Clipping the pen on the left edge makes for difficult removal. My pen and case sit on the desk unused for this reason.

I am using the spigen S-pen case and have no problems case was cheaper then the combo from samsung and I like it better. Highly recommend it

The perfect case

Well I'm still searching for it. So far the best case with the best compromise I have used is the original Samsung case as it coveres all corners and sides, the back is well protected, it is not bulky, only missing bit is the front flap. If only they made one with a front flap then it will be the best case, at least for myself...

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Flip-Lea...ies&hash=item56504172a3&_uhb=1#ht_1799wt_1372
then buy one of these. flip cover as well as offering decent corner and side protection for the phone. back is completely covered and has a bit of leather for impact absorbing when flap is closed.
from what i've seen, samsung do have their own version of this case coming soon.
I was thinking about these but the magnetic case worries me about Spen function.
I don't use the compass but that may get affected too from what I've read...
http://www.ioffer.com/i/leather-flip-cover-case-for-samsung-n7100-galaxy-note-2-523926617 then this one seems to suit you better, although it doesnt offer as much protection for the top and bottom.
from my experience with 15 different cases on my galaxy note 1, you will never be able to find the perfect case. there will always be a compromise, you just have to figure out for yourself what you're willing to compromise.
for me, i like how flip covers protector the screen, but i hate how flimsy they are, how fast they wear and tear, and how clumsy it can be to use them when you're trying to take photos with the camera.
in the end, i've just stuck with an ebay rugged case with stand for my note 2. its durable enough, adds an acceptable amount of bulk and has an integrated stand. i'll probably change to a different case later, but for now, this is as close to perfect as i'll find for my use.
I have the rock flip case already. It has already started peeling off, and getting discolored after a month. This rock case actually feels nice to touch and offers decent protection too but I really wanted something covering the top and bottom after dropping my phone on concrete, which landed top side first and luckily I was using the samsung case at the time so no damage was done.
http://blog.gsmarena.com/samsung-announces-protective-flip-covers-for-the-note-ii-and-s-iii/ so basically you want something like this?
unless you go for a case with magnetic latch, its not gonna stay closed when you drop your phone on concrete. i just go for rugged cases where the edges are raised above the glass. that way the glass doesnt actually kiss the concrete.

Most minimal case for 10.5 S

Hi
I've been using the Samsung flip cover case that came with my S 10.5. That's the case that attaches to the two notches on the back and covers the front. I guess it's good to protect the glass and it's convenient to turn off the screen.
However I find that it's awkward for me to use. Every time I drop the tablet it's almost always because I'm struggling with the cover. The flip cover is great when I'm not using the tablet. Not so good when I'm actually using it.
Can someone recommend a good minimal case I can get for this. I want something as light as possible that gives me a little grip and a bit of protection. I'm willing to give up the close to turn off screen function.
Thanks in advance

I am using this gel TPU case.. it just protects the back and sides.. against any drops.. and gives you better grip.. it does not add any weight or dimension.. It comes with a stylus and screen protector, but I'm not using those http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00L8R5SMO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
When I travel, to protect the glass, I use this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K0CVNXG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have this to watch movies and read Reddit in bed (with the universal adapter from their site) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006RG21ZS/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
And one of these to use the tablet on tables http://www.amazon.com/Rasfox®-AUROR...d=1424658496&sr=8-9&keywords=ipad+stand+metal
Those look good. Thank you.
I would suggest some slip cover. Those gel covers aren't for carrying and still ad bulk when using.

4-5oz. This case is very light, even compared to the ivso/finite case. I had this for my Tab S 8.4 (and it's predecessor for the Tab Pro 8.4) Going with this style of case means the thickness is only added to the back rather than both sides.
I am currently using this case, it adds a little bulk but I prefer this case over the others I have tried. http://www.amazon.com/MoKo-Samsung-...r=8-7&keywords=samsung+galaxy+tab+s+10.5+case
I have also used this one, http://www.amazon.com/Fintie-Samsun...r=8-3&keywords=samsung+galaxy+tab+s+10.5+case there are many like this on Amazon to chose from, this is a very light case that does not add much bulk. The screen on/off magnet works fine on both of these cases.
OP do you have need for quick stand function? If not you may want to consider getting a sleeve case instead. They are cheap, light weight and can protect the screen. Also unlike every other type of case they add no bulk to the tablet when you are holding it, and the Tab S without a case is very light.

Thanks for suggestion.
No I don't need quick stand. Just something to cover back and edges and makes it grippy.
What's a sleeve case. Is that like a pocket / envelope type case. That's good for placing it in a bag but I don't travel much with my tab. I just need something for daily use.
Btw, I bought one of these
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NWAA410/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_jIJ-ub1X8Q34K
BIG MISTAKE. It does not want to go on and stay on and the back is way too slippery. I don't like the feel at all. I guess I should have gone with a TPU case like I planned to.
That case hurts my eye. The colours!

Spigen Rugged Armor is the Best Case

It seems everybody is looking for that perfect case for their device. Well, I am one of them and unfortunately the tab S6 doesn't have many options right now, but it doesn't matter because I found the best.
Spigen Rugged Armor is much better than the flip case I had from before, which was just like the samsung flip cover. The way the Spigen holds the pen is in my opinion better. It basically grips the pen just enough it wont easily fall off, so it isnt reliant 100% on the magnet to stay attached to the tablet. The way to remove the pen is to slide it in and out which honestly feels way more natural than opening and closing, while trying to alight the pen into the cutout for it, in the Samsung flip case.
Another thing that is better is that when using it in hand the tablet no longer has that flap for the stand of the flip cover cases, which gets annoying when holding and less comfortable. With this case you have a much more comfortable and solid grip on the device. It has a smooth matte feel, which is nice to hold.
Another plus for this case is the fitment is spot on. There is literally zero play in the case it feels like a hard rubber skin on the phone because it fits so well.
Here it is on amazon. I am not affiliated with the company in anyway, just thought I would give a shoutout to a well made product.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Z8J8444/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Looks great; no magnets, very grippy.
Thanks!
This one looks good but I gotta have a kickstand. I went with this one from poetic and it's almost flawless. I removed the built in screen protector and went with a glass one instead. Looks very good too. Guy at work the other day asked me about it and said "I didn't know they have LifeProof cases fort the tab 6 yet?!"
https://www.amazon.com/Poetic-Full-Body-Shockproof-Protective-Revolution/dp/B07XB3NL36
Shoot guys, actually after using this case for a few days now I noticed a critical flaw. Since the pen holder on this case protrudes so much, when I am writing/drawing on the tablet in portrait mode, while resting my right forearm on the bottom of the tablet, it literally lifts the tablet in the air since it is not perfectly flat. My flip cover case does not have this issue probably because the cover behind it offsets the difference enough to not wobble.

Schnail Titan Case Review.

I received my complimentary case on Thursday the 17th. Here is my initial review of the Schnail Titan case for the note 20 ultra.
First things first. Here's the pros:
1. It's tough. The edges are tight & hug the phone nicely with no gaps. If you love Otterbox, Supcase, or rugged cases in general, you'll be satisfied with Schnail.
2. No camera bump. Lays nice and smooth.
3. Rubberized sides allow for extra grip with a nice diamond pattern.
4. A sturdy kickstand (Double-edged sword, more info below).
5. USB-C protective cover (I love covers)
6. Easy install (place in frame first, then place into the bottom. Also has the instructions on a sticker).
7. Works with Whitestone Dome SP.
8. Works with wireless charging.
9. Price.
All in all, it's a solid case. I just have a few nitpicks. Call me Petty Roosevelt But:
1. While I love the kickstand, it's hard to pull out and put back it. I still love it though.
2. Ultra petty, but some different colors would be great. I would love this in orange, or blue, or red.
3. It would be awesome if this had a cover for the spen, so it won't fly out when you drop it.
Other than that, I give this case a Major, Major, Major go :good: Will keep using as my daily and recommend.

Totally agree, here is my review that I left on Amazon:

This case is an absolute beast. I have no worries about dropping the phone with this bad boy on. If you are looking for something that can take an absolute pounding, this is a great choice.
This case has a plastic rim that first fits around the phone, then slides into the outer shell. The fitment is perfect, the port holes all line up exactly. The charge port cover is a nice feature. Also, the phone lays flat which is a bit of a problem with this phone when using some other cases.
The sides are super grippy. I like how the design elements are all perfectly cut, no poor work here, you can tell the QA process is working well. The kickstand has a locking mechanism on it to ensure the phone doesn't fall when using it, but it's really hard to get back closed. It feels almost like you are going to break it at first, but its pretty robust so it has held up. Way better than a loose kickstand, but something to be aware of. There is a good sized lip at the top and bottom of the case as you can see in one of the pictures of the light gap between the screen and the table. This should help protect the screen in case of a drop on a flat surface.
The buttons work well, and there is a + and - sign on the volume buttons which is a nice touch.
Keep in mind as well that this a large case. It's meant for maximum protection, and achieves that well. No skinny jeans here...this needs a big ol pocket.
Final word: The designer clearly meant to create a case with maximum protection. They achieved this absolutely. The only way you can unintentionally break your phone in this case is if you drop the screen directly on a corner. The name Titan for this case is perfect. The case is huge and the kickstand is a little difficult to get out of lock. This is absolutely a five star product though.

I got mine too, while I love the case and definitely plan on using it daily over my phone, it's a shame that the kickstand is a pain to get out. The first time I had to use the other end of my fork to pop it out, it is that hard to pull out with your fingers!

Does the company even make a holster case for their cases? That case is nice but won't fit in my car vent mounted phone holder due to the case being too wide. Any suggestions?

There is not a screen protector, its a face frame that essentially locks the case onto the phone.

I will stand with both of these reviews. 100% awesome case. A holster would be awesome too
So much for your thin 20 Ultra.
#brick
I always go for the thinnest and lightest ;}
Just wanted to update the thread with my review. I honestly think this is a beast of a case without feeling like a brick.
This case is an extremely rugged case that doesn't make the Note20 feel like it weighs a ton like some other cases can. This is a standard two-part design. That being an exterior rugged rubber shell and in inner plastic shell that snaps around the phone to provide extra shock protection. I personally did not have any trouble pulling the two halves apart but I also have a lot of experience with these types of cases so your experience with that may vary.
Pros:
1. The external rubber case is solidly built. When you squeeze the case without the phone or inner plastic shell in it, it is *very* hard to squeeze from the side. This is due to a very hard plastic backplate that prevents the case from flexing.
2. The kick stand is a monster. It is a very wide kickstand and once it is fully extended and locked into place, it takes a bit of force to get it to collapse again. To me, this is a pro since I don't have to worry about the kickstand giving out and my phone falling.
3. Installation is very simple. Once you have the inner plastic shell snapped around your phone, slide the phone into the bottom of the case first and then push the top of the phone into the case. It should just pop right in.
4. Phone feels balanced when in this case. The Note20 is a bit top heavy because of the giant camera bump but the case does a nice job of trying to make the phone feel balanced in the hand.
5. The top and bottom of the case flair out ever so slightly to keep the screen off of your desk should you put your phone screen-side down.
6. The volume and power buttons extend ever so slightly from the case to give them a nice tactile feel without being obtrusive.
7. Excellent gripping on the sides of the case and a stylish honeycomb design on the inside that makes its way to the inside of the kickstand.
8. Port cutouts are precision molded. The charger protector port snugly fits inside the case to protect the charge port but it has a nice lip that is easy to pull down on to open it up.
9. The price. For what this case offers the price absolutely cannot be beat. This is a premium product for a budget friendly price.
*Note* I personally cannot comment on screen protector compatibility because I don't have one on. However, in phone case experience past, I'm sure it's fine.
All in all, from now on this company will be my go to choice for phone cases. Also, as an added bonus, a portion of their profits goes to the American Cancer Society.
Way too bulky. But it's a perfect way to ruin the beauty of this phone's design!

the quest for the perfect case continues

I hope this helps my detailed review of three of my best cases for the note 20 ultra... For those still on the quest of finding the perfect case.
Mod Edit
Mil drop protection with raised screen/cam protection and a easy to grip/clean surface.
Corner hits and face plants are common in drops; make sure the case you choose can handle a 2-3 foot drop onto concrete. Make sure any case fully protects the spen corner; they will corner hit here
Waterproofing not needed; these phones are well sealed.
These phones absolutely need a case. A good case makes them easier to handle, hold and helps prevent accidentally screen touches yet leaves the curved screen area easy to use.
For the 10+ the Zizo Bolt case is still my favorite. This type of two layer protection works well* and when in it's clip on back there are 3 layers.
*how I carry and occasionally drop it most times. The hard second polycarbonate shell reinforces the semihard urethane inner shell and keeps it in place during impacts.
After a few good corner impacts I replace the case to be on the safe side. It's the spen corner that I really keep a close eye on.
The retired cases still look great... spare parts as it's the urethane lining that could fatigue. Just not worth risking damaging a $1G phone over a $20 case.
I'm tempted to buy a bare case but it's unfortunately expensive.

The Bolt is under $20. My favorite all time case.
Don't let the price fool you...
https://www.amazon.com/Galaxy-Ultra...y=200623&hvtargid=pla-945538896475&psc=1&th=1
The cam protection for the 20 isn't as good as my 10+ but that's because of Samsung's blunder of making the cam array so wide.
If you do get a Bolt either keep the kickstand fully retracted or extended. If the stand is loose in your pocket it can dislodge its retainer pins. Happened once to me but they were in the pocket and I simply reinserted them.
The kickstand also makes a convenient handhold as well as to help keep the phone cool when charging.
I don't recommend using glass protector screens with this case. You might be able to but it may dislodge it when you're inserting the phone into the case.
I use wet apply IQ Shield urethane screen protectors.
I didn't have much faith in this case but after receiving it from Amazon I really enjoy the grippy feeling on the sides, the built-in kickstand and how easy it is to remove the phone if you need to compared to something like an OtterBox defender. The case I am referring to is the SAMSUNG Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Case, Rugged Drop Protection Cover - Black which I purchased from Amazon and it's currently $28. I have already dropped it from probably 4 feet directly onto a hard stone floor and all it did was left a small scratch on one corner of the case but the S-Pen did eject which I've noticed happens alot regardless of the case.

Lol, it's so cute; the spen wuves to pop out. You need to be careful not to step on it or leave it behind.
The Bolts I have never looked worse for the wear after drops on concrete.
However when you see the urethane take on a shiny look near a point of impact it means it's been stressed. To error on the side on caution I replace them. The spen corner is the most vulnerable corner and the 10+ loves to fall right there.
Been doing good haven't dropped the phone in months... of course it's only a matter of time.
This is the perfect one for me. UAG Civilian Case. Feels great in hand and has excellent protection. Not too heavy like monarch but still great protection.

It's actually quit thin which makes it less of a handful.
It has enough meat to protect the phone but not overkill. The 10+ is way too slippery with no case.
This case sticks in my hand.
I hold by the bottom corner with my thumb a lot or by the kickstand.
I use the kickstand when charging to help it cool.
It's a cool looking case that doesn't attract dust. Cleans up pretty with a toothbrush and soapy water.
I go with grey or black as red or blue may throw off your screen color perception. Plus the darker color scheme doesn't "advertise" your holding a $1 G phone.
