General CN version hardware does not support 5g in the US - Xiaomi Mi 11

Will Xiaomi Mi 11 work in USA?
In this page we are going to show you the compatibility of Xiaomi Mi 11 with the mobile networks of USA and with the telephony operators that provide service in USA.
www.kimovil.com

You can always use this website to check this (this is where I was able to confirm it's working fine in Europe ): https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/US/xiaomi-mi-11

Yeah, that's the link I posted. It shows the CN version doesn't support any US 5g band.

Sorry, I did not see that (perhaps I was a bit too quick with my reply)

CN MI 11 supports NR band n1, n3, n28a, n41, n77, n78, n79.
All those bands are usually implemented in Asian countries.
n1 and n3 need OTA update after Chinese carriers have implemented those bands.
n28a is kinda narrow, ranging from 703MHz to 733MHz.
That's it. No fancy mmWave bands are supported.

Does flashing a new ROM modify the supported bands or is the CN phone missing required hardware to support NA bands?

Flashing a new ROM is unlikely to modify the supported bands. I assume that in order to modify it, you need to figure out how to flash the baseband...
As for mmWave bands support, MI 11 doesn't have mmWave antennas so don't expect that to happen.

Hey guys. Just to let you in on my experience with 5G, although I live in Europe, România.
Had the CN Mi 11 until yesterday. I use 2 sim cards, one from Digi, one from Orange. Digi worked fine in 5g. Although, by specs, the CN fully supports all the 5g bands needed (mostly referring to N1 for orange), I never got 5g on orange. And we have full city coverage. 4G+ also doesn't work.
Got the global version yesterday, same bands on paper, and what do you know. Immediately 5G, 4G+, everything working fine.
One more thing about the CN version. I used it both CN original rom and with Xiaomi.eu rom.
On the CN rom, the 5G icon used to appear where there was 5G coverage, but the connection itself was 4G. In the first week I didn't even have 5G activated on my sim, and it was still showing 5G. Some weird trick to induce people in error?
On a local forum, everyone has the same issue, CN version won't work on 5G, global yes. Same bands, I guess different modem settings. Someone flashed the global rom on it, but still same result.
So to put it short, in România, with orange operator, CN version doesn't do 5G, not even 4G+, global works fine.

Sounds weird. According to Kimovil both Digi and Orange in Romania work on the same 5g bands. But not N1, N78. And you claim that CN M11 works on Digi 5g and not on Orange 5g? Did you check with Orange what's wrong?
Unfortunately, I don't have 5g here to check myself. But 4g+ works fine.
Does someone else has CN MI11 and can't get 5g?

Sorry, maybe I confused N1 with N78. Makes no difference. Yes, one network (Digi) worked, Orange not. And as I said, not just for me, for others with CN version of the phone as well. Not much to check with Orange since the global phone, which they also sell, works fine.

Another thing that bothered me and made me sell it and get the global version, was the feedback that the CN Mi 11 didn't get 5G on orange even with the global rom, which should change the modem files as well.

Although they are under the same N78 band, It should be noted that NR-ARFCN(the number chain that corresponds to a specific frequency) range may actually be different on different versions of the same hardware. That's why Galaxy S10 5G sold in South Korea doesn't work on 5G networks of China Unicom and China Telecom even though the phone supports N78 band that is implemented by those two carriers. I assume that's the same reason that you don't get 5G on some carriers even though they use the NR band that the phone supports.
All above is my personal thoughts, the truth may differ from that.
Let me know if I am wrong.

CN Model 12gb/256gb still on China Rom (waiting on 7d to switch to Xiaomi EU) T Mobile 5g with VOLTE

Hola, chicos.

Hello friend, if you are a root user, you should connect to pdc and see what profile the global version is using, I'm sure it uses a different one than CN if you manually change That in theory should solve the problem, it is something similar to what happens with oneplus, vivo and iqoo

That is not case - there is Carrier Policy what enables 5G-support specific Carrier. This is common almost every device sold. To make sure device work in home device, don't buy another market device.
I have made cacombos.com website to list supported combinations. It help you to check device support all EN_DC combinations used by your network.

Think twice... Global model support more 4G and 5G combinations than Chinese model.

It looks like that the combos used by my carrier are supported by chinese model so we´ll see i returned my Global Mi 11 today and im getting chinese 512GB 11 Ultra tommorow....but tbh i dont really care about 4G+ and 5G since i have unlimited data plan but limited to 20mb/s and the 5G drain is really high

So I have 11 Ultra china version and everything works just fine 4G+ and 5G

Samsung Note 5 SM-N920T (T-mobile) Low Cell Signal Strength

Hello!
I recently bought a Samsung Note 5 SM-N920T (T-mobile) and I noticed I have problems with the gsm signal.
I did update to the latest version of the software, but the problem was not fixed.
I tried two sim cards from different operators (Vodafone and Telekom), i even replaced sim card, I changed from LTE/4G to 3G/2G and I still have poor signal.
In areas with good signal the phone works perfectly. I did not have any problems with my old phones (Samsung S1/S2/S3/S4/S5/Note4)
I'm from Romania (Europe) different area from the phone (US).
How can I solve the problem with the poor gsm signal?

Xiaomi Mi9 TE versions and differences

Hello everyone!
As far as I know there are two versions of the Transparent Edition Mi9
8/256GB and 12/256GB. The 12GB model was the first one with the difference in the storage and RAM and it has a 7P elements 48mp camera instead of the 6P on regular Mi9 models and it has a bigger aperture one as well with F. 47.
On March 22nd Xiaomi released the 8/256GB TE model which has the same camera tech as a regular Mi9 but it has the B20 LTE modem which is used in Europe.
Does anyone know something about this? Am K true? That the 8/256GB model is the 'global' version of the Mi9 TE?
If anyone knows something about this please let me know!
No band 20 on either TE versions, as far as I'm aware...
Where did you read this?
On some websites written in my mother language (Hungarian). They were totally sure about the B20 in the 8/256GB model

I can,, my provider (ee, UK) uses b3, b7 for LTE. But yeah, for most LTE won't work

Model numbers/regions - which is which?

My Red Magic 3 arrived yesterday, must say very speedy delivery, 3 days only DHL express to Australia which was excellent.
I'm having trouble identifying the different models though, I've seen reference to a Chinese (CN), Global, EU but also 'NA' versions?
Not sure if some are the same thing? I'm concerned as from what I can tell, the EU version doesn't have LTE Band 28 (which I want) but the NA version does and I'm not sure what version I have other than it was branded NX629J.
https://global.redmagic.gg/pages/red-magic-3-specs (under 'Connectivity')
Can anyone assist please?

Yes but the LTE bands can make a big difference! Two of the major Australian mobile carriers use Band 28 so I'm trying to work out which version of the Red Magic 3 I have and if it has that band.

Try this link

There is two version of global rom
Us is version 1.11
Europe version is 2.07
Well I have NA version but running EU Rom v2.09....when I run the CN Rom I don't get LTE just 4g. So if you not getting LTE then install your region global Rom.
LTE bands are a hardware limitation, not software, so it won't matter what rom I'm running.
I'm just trying to find out if my model has band 28 or not!
https://www.frequencycheck.com/mode...emium-edition-dual-sim-td-lte-cn-128gb-nx629j
In theory software and hardware, I will tell you In US on CN Rom no LTE just 4g....but on either Global I Get LTE.

Question Carrier Aggregation not working

Hi guys, I have the cn version of Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra and I enabled 5g preferred in the settings, my friend with an iPhone gets better speeds than me, and we both use a sim from the same company, do you happen to know why he gets Carrier aggregation and I don't? I am also using Xiaomi EU stable custom rom, and it is very annoying that my phone is working slower, much help will be appreciated thank you very much!
The China model has these 5G bands:
5G :n1 / n3 / n28 / n41 / n77 / n78 / n79
Compare these bands with iPhone bands, maybe iPhone has more.
Band support is not everything, good compare Carrier Aggregation and Dual Connectivity combinations and check device support all used by your network.
You can check these via https://cacombos.com website.

Question USA 5G bands are supported by EB2103?

I have troubles enabling Nord CE 5G in USA, in fact I wasn't able to achive 5G functioning on neither of the mainstream US carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon).
GSMArena description is confusing and has two modifications of Nord CE 5G: India and EU, and it's not clear whether EB2103 an Indian or an European version. Overal very little info in the web about Nord CE 5G frequencies.
Had anybody successful experience in making 5G work on this phone in USA?

ok, then my EB2103 must perfectly work in the USA, which is not the case. 41 and 71 bands are specified for EB2103 so it must work on T-Mobile at least.
Seems like the bands on GSMarena are misleading.
