pixel 4a 5G - Google Pixel 4a 5G Questions & Answers

This machine has been rooted and installed magisk and edxposed modules, but after installing some modules with edxposed at noon today, magisk suddenly has no super user rights. Then I restore the factory settings. then no command appeared on the mobile phone, and the following situation.

Re-flash Stock ROM.

yes just flash stock rom also that would be easy since Google themself provided Pixel and Nexus stock rom on there official site

Maxlock Lock some apps, magisk Lost the power of super user

well i just looked up the maxlock module, the newest version it says it works on is oreo, thats a pretty old module to try to use on such a new device. My advice is to go download the factory boot image from google and factory reset it. Then after you flash your custom image/root take a backup before installing any modules

its been fine so far i installed the proton asop core and rom and runs great, you just have to redownload pixel camera from google play for the camera otherwise it looks like crud I will admit though its a little annoying not having root but atleast with custom roms theres the possibility someone will create one pre rooted then you wouldnt even need twrp

dang return it for like 50 or more less bigger screen and same features, only thing is the 5 has a 90 hz display vs the 60 on the 4a 5g, right now though most of the main stream games dont even use 90 hz it also has a little more ram, but mine runs smooth on every gpu and cpu intensive app i have thrown at it (pubg mobile cod mobile fortnite asphalt 5 etc) but if your deal is productivity and multi tasking id stay with the 5 because of the ram

Damn, I'm inside 30 days maybe I'll check it out. Its cool also because I've always been 2-3 gens behind with an open box of something lol I just need the hotspot to work right...
I will look some more at it, I just remember thinking if I'm spending it for 5g. Its good to know the processor does awesome I think I was being a punk about it not being the newer ones :/ but now that I've had some time I may look at it again

resolution problems in gaming when flashing a new ROM

Can anyone help me please? I have a Galaxy tab S2 9.7in SM-T810 model and when I flashed a new rom on it, I no longer have any control over the resolution resulting in me not being able to play any games without them being super slow, is there any fix or work around that anyone has? I've tried googling but I couldn't find anything related to us, tried different apps used for other devices but they have failed, any help would be greatly appreciated. (I'm new btw got this tablet brand new for $240 and trying to do some different things with it, also the ROM I currently have is AOKP N)

I don't have my tab with me at work.. Its a rectangular window in the center screen that says; Resolution Changer has stopped with the option to close app..... Just like the games that wont work.. I was able to grant it root access on the initial run but the program goes to open and just disappears and that prompt window I mentioned above pops up.. My ROM comes with Majisk Root not SU USER. Could that be a problem?

Notch problem on custom roms

Hello all, i have a mi8 128gb global, recently i opened my bootloader for custom roms and root, i succesfully opened but i have a problem with custom roms. When i install a custom rom, notch's edges are getting too weird its getting serrated. But in miui its smooth and beatiful. i can clearly see even when booting.Does anybody experiencing this too. How to fix it?
I decided to unlock mine just a few days ago as well and noticed this over Havoc and POSP. It's pretty weird considering it's a software issue around most custom ROMs. Havoc has a setting to modify the curvature of the screen but it doesn't fix it completely.

Yes, but tomorrow I'm planning something to do, today i see that in the system files there is a notch overlay app is exist. I think this one gives the notch to a shape. And also I noticed in vendor there is a folder similar like that. Whatever, my plan is after installed rom, getting that system files and copy-paste to the custom rom system directory. I think this will fix our issue, I mean I hope :fingers-crossed:

any update solution for this problem ?
Hello, I have a problem and a question with him. When I install a custom rom and lower the resolution, depspite using the notch bar killer, a notch remains that got bigger and I can't delete them, also when I put the dark mode it becomes white

what happened to all the click to root apps? Would any work?

Title says is all really, pretty sure that the bootloader still needs unlocking, just I remember being able to root without unlocking the bootloader, without having TWRP /Clockwork mod in the past.
Tried a few of them with no luck, any way this can be done..
I've kind of given up on the bootloader unlock code and thus the ability to flash a rom (even though Huawei allowed this device to be treble compatible, evil bast****)
Would any exploits work?
Be good to at least get root on this crippled bloatfest excuse for an android device.

Yep I got that pal..
But you've missed the point.
Why?
Unlocking the bootloader was not always necessary.
Certain devices yes but how to know??
Installing TWRP to a partition is impossible without removing the checking system which is inherently what a locked bootloader brings.
But I'm not talking about that, nor am I talking about installing a custom ROM..
Only root, nothing more.

All the "click to root" apps were using certain exploits/privilege escalation vulnerabilities. With Android development those holes were patched by Google on Android level and by most OEMs on their custom versions level.

Honestly, OnePlus 7T pro, it's just a phenomenal phone, all the things im miss are just there and not a sniff of a company locking anything down.
It's butter smooth. I used my pro next to the 7t pro and honestly it's an incredible difference, it's like playing a game at 144hz for the first time, 60 just can't cut it ever again.
I'm going to let this can run down and get the 8, I usually upgrade 2-3 times a year but thought I'd give it a miss this year.. kind of glad I did but it's paining me now as my bootloader is screwed and there's only so much I can do without root.
I'd love to remove the swap memory (page file /zram) but I don't think it's possible.
Swap torpedo did this and the speed increase is amazing.
PS: I wouldn't bother with the S10 it's not as good as the oneplus devices tbh. S11 might compete but it's still Samsung so nah not for me.

I use my banking apps with root.
Things I need.
Root access to files for tweaks.
Page file removal
Bloat removal
Ad removal ( I can't tell you how much I don't like adverts)
Mods that Devs miss (CRT animation, Audio Boost etc)
Custom ROMs: more efficient, faster, feature rich
Latest OS
Early releases
If I didn't mod my phone using root id be bored in weeks (which I am) or I'd buy an IPhone.
First works for me on root, I just agreed when the notification same up.
For the ones that don't, the mobile version of the web page works perfectly for me, dependent on bank of course.
The trade off just isn't worth it for me especially with emui which is abysmally tedious and something I'd love to just delete from history.

Hmmm, I have the 4gb/128gb version - I can see how the extra memory might make a bit of difference, especially given MIUI's bloat, but I wouldn't have expected you to experience such slow performance. I guess we're using the same EU rom. Maybe look at trying to strip out some of the bloatware? Might help a bit?

Question Bad performance for now

I dont know if it is bad performance if the phone, hardware or anything like that, but on my previous OP6 it was running smoothly. I am talking about playing Pokemon go on two account using split screen. After few minutes, device starts lagging like a lot until it is almost unusable. Has any got any tips and tricks, same experience etc.?
If you're rooted, you can try to use a kernel app and change the cpu governor from Walt to schedutil. I had a similar issue.
Change it like that? I have switch to what you said, but previously it wasn't enabled at all (same like it is now, only with different choice). Do I need to enable or in addition?
EDIT: Oh I do need, because otherwise it wont survive boot. Or do you use any other app that will handle it differently? I am using FKM.
Do I need to change frequencies btw?

Well that's called throttle a nasty thing to have also in telegram scrolling it's lagging so I found a solution to the problem for now and that's forcing 120hz it seems that you will have a little bit of lag but after a long scroll you don't even notice it no more so I'm sharing this with you and maybe it will help you there is also a video in the post on how it works but its just simple first option force 120hz second normally switch mode the third one 60hz i hope this helps you a bit to get rid of the most lag what you encounter

Yeah the 120hz forced works pretty well to reduce lagg but you will get battery drain and you need to turn it on after reboot

Honestly, this phone needs a ROM, a nice custom ROM that has the OOS camera on it.
If that happens the phone will really take off.

Install the app RAM truth from the playstore.
It'll show the memory, it's called swap.
I have a thread in the 8 pro section that has the payload dumper...I really hope it works otherwise for me that's the last straw.

In Franco, click memory, then find zRAM and turn it off.
Enable the apply on boot option by clicking the switch to the right of it.
