dear buddies

#help

same problem here

Taken from Pixel Experience Installation help page, we need to disable File Based Encryption (THE FBE ERROR ON TWRP), so they suggest this step. I will try it and post update here.
NOTE: If you have installed the stable Android 11 MIUI or you have installed the stable Android 11 MIUI vendor, you won’t need to flash again.
Download the correct stable Android 11 MIUI according to the version of your phone:
Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G
Xiaomi Mi 10i
Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite(Global)
Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite(Taiwan)
Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite(EEA)
If you are not in recovery, reboot into recovery:
With the device powered off, hold Volume Up + Power. Keep holding both buttons until the “MI” logo appears on the screen, then release.
Sideload the .zip package:
On the device, select “Apply Update”, then “Apply from ADB” to begin sideload.
On the host machine, sideload the package using: adb sideload filename.zip.
check
TIP: If the process succeeds the output will stop at 47% and report adb: failed to read command: Success/No error.
Return to the main menu.
Now tap Factory Reset, then Format data / factory reset and continue with the formatting process. This will remove encryption and delete all files stored in the internal storage, as well as format your cache partition.
Update it worked, using pixel experience now

The updates we get from the settings menu are the same ones right? And do we have to switch region ROMs like EU, China etc..

Use the ROM that is specific to your device. For example I have the Mi 10i from India and I'd download that specific ROM. Don't bother with EU or China ROMs if you do not intend to use them for a while.

#gauguin devices have a dynamic storage partition or A/B partition system. No need to wipe system & vendor to flash any rom. You can flash rom just by wiping cache, dalvik cache, data. That's will solve your problem.

But Magisk app says A-only... and so does Treble Check

[guide] steps to flash gsi on redmi note 7

[GUIDE] STEPS TO FLASH GSI ON REDMI NOTE 7 [lavender]
Many of us tried Flashing GSI on our Redmi Note 7 but failed due to various reasons even though it is absolutely bugless for Redmi Note 7 .
Here are the steps which i will mention below that will let us use the full potential of GSI.
Requirements :
Bootloader Unlocked
TWRP Installed
Ofcourse a working device
Installation Method :
First of all we need the flash the latest chinese beta rom.It gets updated everyweek. Since I have the cn rn7 i prefer to update the vendor partition everyweek for fixes and latest updates. But you can try on your stable rom too (I can't gurantee if things will work out on stable rom or not) .So, first of all be on china beta rom.
Go to fastboot mode and connect your pc to your device .You need to have installed xiaomi drivers to make this work properly. Once you are in fastboot ,open a terminal/cmd and type : fastboot -w ( this will erase your existing system partition and data and internal storage too , so make sure to have a backup if you have something essential on ur device)
Now considering that we have already downloaded a gsi i.e a phh GSI ..now for this case we are gonna assume its aosp as an example.. while in the fastboot mode type : fastboot flash system system.img ( here system.img(it can be of different name too) is the gsi img which you download from phh thread).
Remember : once the flash is completerd reboot to TWRP and not to system.
Once you are in twrp , flash magisk ( flash magisk latest canary as it has support for system as root devices) then press on wipe button of twrp,,,then advanced wipe..then tick mark on system and you will see repair or change file system option.Click on it..Click on repair and resize file system.
Now go to mount settings and mount system partition. Now you can flash gapps if you want .
After flashing gapps finally reboot to system
Voila! After in about 5 mins you will be booted to GSI rom
Post Installation Method :
You will have almost everything working after booting into gsi except you will run into brightness bug which you can fix by the following way
Connect your device with pc and enable mass storage
open a cmd/terminal on ur pc
type the following codes : adb shell
su ( in this case you will have to give permission from your device ; grant it)
setprop persist.sys.qcom-brightness 4095
Congragulations Now you have installed a gsi perfectly on your device
In this way you can flash almost all the gsi available on phh thread Hope this clarifies all of our problems.
Hit Thanks if I helped you somehow with this

I have no experience with GSI images, but I know in general that PIE breaks the encryption, if you roll back the security patch level. I don't know it this happened in your case, but I have lost couple of times my encrypted storage when I have tried to restore a backup of rom with older android patch level. After that, the bootup encryption pin is no longer accepted, neither by android nor by twrp, so the only option is to format data to remove encryption and start from scratch.
Were your miui beta and rr gsi of the same android security patch level?

Hi!
Did you not disable dm-verity and force-encryption?
Another question, the dev MIUI roms contain both the system and vendor partitions, right? How do you install only the vendor partitions from them? Or do you just flash MIUI and then reflash the custom ROM system? In that case, won't that affect dm-verity and encryption on the data partition?
Flashing correctly a GSI like in this guide; with vendor ecc ecc, will gcam work? Actually i'm on stock MIUI 10 and obv all working fine with a perfect version. My doubt is it.

Xiaomi Mi MIX2 working encryption with latest Android 9 (Pie) ROM

(short) Tutorial in getting your Xiaomi Mi MIX2 encrypted with latest Android 9 (Pie) ROM released by xiaomi.eu (and propably also with the beta ROMs released by Xiaomi/miui.com)
Preparations:
- your phone is unlocked
- a custom recovery is installed on your phone already
- download OrangeFox recovery 9.0-1 or later (others may work too but had not tested for this tutorial / TWRP 3.3.0-0 may produce errors)
- download force-enryption script for Mi MIX2 Android Pie
- download NO enryption restore script for Mi MIX2 Android Pie (reverts fstab config to default - wipe of data needed)
- download latest Android 9 Pie based MIUI ROM (tested only with the modified ROM from xiaomi.eu - official beta ROM may work too)
- optional: download latest Magisk to receive root (may needed by your backup/recovery app to restore your apps within android)
CAUTION!
When folliging this procedure you will loose all current data on your device! DO A APP-BASED BACKUP IN ANDROID FIRST!!! (TWRP or OrangeFox recovery based backups won't work for this procedure!)
Have done your Backup? No? DO IT NOW! really!
Let the phone boot and encrypt itself after flashing the scipt linked in HowTo.
Up to now (bug has been reported) it is to be mentioned that encrypting Xiaomi.EU rom via setting/privacy/encrypt leads direct to PHONE RESET.
FORMAT DATA is required then to get it back to life. @lolo9393 thanks for that hint!
Exact proceedings:
1. you've done a backup eh? - good
2. ... did you save that backup on a other device than your phone? Remember you'll loose all data stored on the phone!!!
3. reboot your phone in your currently installed recovery
3.1 copy the OrangeFox recovery to your device
3.2 select "Install" and choose the OrangeFox recovery .zip file to install (replace your current recovery)
3.3 OrangeFox installer will reboot the recovery after its install
4. Select "Wipe"
4.1 Select "Advanced Wipe"
4.2 Select every Partition exept USB-OTG
4.3 Swipe to Wipe
5. reboot your recovery to recovery again
6. Select "Wipe"
6.1 Select "Advanced Wipe"
6.2 Select "Format Data"
6.3 type in "yes" and confirm that step
7. reboot your recovery to recovery again
8. copy the latest Android 9 Pie based MIUI ROM to your phone
9. copy the latest version of the force-enryption script to your phone
10. Select "Install" and select the Android ROM first then "Add to queue" and select the force-encryption script as second item to flash
10.1 Swipe to Install
11. reboot to system
11.1 go to "Settings"
11.2 scroll down to "SYSTEM SETTINGS" area
11.3 select "Additional settings"
11.4 select "Privacy"
11.5 scroll down to "ADVANCED" area
11.6 check the status of "Encryption & credentials" - it should state "Encrypted"
12. now continue in setting up your system (e.g. enable developer mode, enable advanced power menu, usb debugging if needed, ...)
13. DONE ...
... ok, maybe you're missing your apps and settings - here is a possible way to restore them ... (i personally prefer Titanium Backup)
Root & how to restore apps & app data
14. copy Magisk installer to your device
14.1 reboot your device to recovery
14.2 select "Install" and choose the Latest Magisk-vXX.X.zip file to install (in the log you should read something about "keep forced encryption" - this is good )
14.3 when done - reboot to system again
15. Install Titanium Backup (from a store or as APK from file)
15.1 copy your Titanium Backup or TWRP backup (that could be restored by Titanium Backup Pro) to insternal storage
15.2 restore apps & app data with Titanium Backup (for a detailed HowTo please visit official Titanium Backup Website: https://www.titaniumtrack.com/kb/titanium-backup-kb/titanium-backup-user-guide.html#restore)
15.3 Profit!
That guide may has helped you ...

FAQ
Q: Is that procedure ROM update safe? / What if xiaomi.eu releases an ROM update or my ROM has to be reinstalled?
A: When Xiaomi.eu releases an update you have to flash that script right afterwards that update in your favorite recovery. - No further actions should be needed. This procedure has to be repeated for every ROM update or reinstall.
Procedure is verified as working with update 9.5.9 up to 9.6.27Q: Does TWRP recovery work also?
A: There is feedback that TWRP 3.3.0-0 does not work as intended (THX @mguz on post 11 for the feedback)
Maybe TWRP 3.3.1-0 that was released short ago solves that problem ...

VERY good work.
Very useful for people having security concern when using a TWRP.
My comments:
-This procedure is valid with any latest 3.3. TWRP version that can decrypt now. (?)
- This is applicable to all XIAOMI phone under PIE. (Fstab must be exchanged in the zip tool in order to fit with the phone model)

This will remove encryption and delete all files stored in the internal storage, as well as format your cache partition.

let me try
When you install custom rom, first you need to be the same version of andorid, which is the custom rom. At your case you need official miui rom android 11. Install it with Fastboot. Afer that twrp. When you are in twrp Go to Wipe>> Format data. type YES. After that Advance wipe. And after everything flash the custom rom

Keep rebooting to fastboot after rom installation!

Hello, I was tinkering for a few days to actually use lineage os in my device. I've flash multiple TWRP across these two days from xda forums, TWRP and PBRP works fine, what bothers me is everytime I install custom rom, when I reboot the system, it will go to fastboot after showing redmi logo with unlocked bootloader. I don't seem to know what's the case, but if I flash MIUI, it will work, not with other roms.
These what I've done:
Download Rom
TWRP (already installed) & vbmeta ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...omi-redmi-note-9-xiaomi-redmi-10x-4g.4218909/ )
Reboot to recovery
Wipe DATA (the right button in TWRP)
Reboot to recovery again
adb push file or copy rom zip to /sdcard or internal storage
Install Rom
Wipe data and not wipe data already tested with no avail
Reboot to system
My problem is, is it really possible to install lineageos? I've tried to install lineageos17 which is fail with logs arround the line of Error 7, and then /product (no such file is found) or something like that. My device is Redmi Note 9 Helio G85, is it not compatible? or should I try using GSI treble rom?
I've also tried to downgrade to MIUI 12.0.3.0 from 12.0.6.0, I downloaded 12.0.1.0, but haven't tried it yet.
Any help is appreciated, my pc is linux based, so if possible without much tinkering to move to windows. Thank you.

Question Touch Issue only on A12 ROMs

Hey, my 9 power has an NVT-TS touch panel. All android 11 based ROMs seem to work such as Pixel Blaster and Lineage. However, when we talk about Android 12, my touch seems to only work on Evolution X.
I tried installing PixelPlusUI and PixelOS, however my touch does not work in them. If I try installing a custom kernel with those two, the OS does not boot and the phone gets stuck on the Redmi boot logo.
I have tried many fixes from various threads but nothing seems to work.
Anybody with a workaround or suggestion?
Update: Only a previous version of EvoX works. The latest version does not boot.
Hi. What kernel and recovery did you used for a12 rom ? Can you put here links to twrp/kernel and roms used in process ? Thanks. I have the same model with nvt touch and nothing worked for me and now i'm back to stock miui 12.5.11 global.
I used PitchBlack Recovery but also tried 2 different TWRP and Orange Fox Recoveries. I tried flashing various kernels but none worked. In the end, the kernel within the evox rom itself had to be used.
Hello,
I'm actually running fine a CrDroid on android 12 without issue.
Here's how i flashed it :
FOR JUICE!

Hi. What type of screen do you have ? Can you put the link here to download what rom you installed ? Thx.
I have the exact same type of screen than you, NVT-TS
I downloaded the rom from the official website of CrDroid : https://crdroid.net/juice/8
For the stock zip (step 11), i used this one : https://sourceforge.net/projects/xi...i_HMNote94G_HM9T_21.11.24_v12-11.zip/download
Btw, use crdroid 8.6 for juice. ATM 8.7 don’t work with touchscreen afaik. I did have to reinstall 8.6 after update

Thank you, crdroid 8.6 worked. However, I wanted to use ROMs like Pixel Experience and PixelPlus but they touch does not work on them.
Atm, PixelPlusUI or PixelExperience are A12 AOSP with integrated Gapps (probably others differences but no matter), use flamegapps to get full gapps package and there you go!
Atm, i tried a lot of roms, and with A12, only CrDroid8.6 works...
