Accessories Running with the S21 Ultra? - Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

I have used a Flipbelt whilst running for the past few years - it worked well with my previous Note8 and is still in good shape. However I find the openings are quite tight for an S21 Ultra with a Spigen Neo-hybrid case and the fact that sweat gets through is quite off-putting.
Have you found good solutions that you would recommend for running/doing sport with your S21 Ultra that is big enough to house this beast in its case?

i just have in tracksuit bottom and it ok or just arm strap

I tried running with it for a few days. But found it to be too massive a phone to run comfortably with. The iPhone 6S was the perfect "running size" phone for me. Even the OnePlus 6 was manageable. But the S21U is just too large, thick and heavy for any serious running (from my perspective). I do have an arm-band style pouch that can fit the S21U but the arm complains if I use it. The avantree waist pouch fits the phone but feels wierd on the waits at is bounces around if I pick up the pace.
So unfortunately I just have to leave the phone at home when I go for runs now...

Waterproof Case

What is the best waterproof case, for taking the phone into the shower. Also, is the S-pen water resistant?
Why bother? Ive had my phone in the pool and shower since I got it. As long as you blow the water out the charging port and speaker, it'll be fine. Everything is pretty much waterproof. Enjoy it.
Phone is IP68, and I have had it submerged already. S pen is also IP68, no problems there.

For most days the phone will be just fine getting wet. Even at the pool.
However there are still day even ip68 won't be enough.
I recommend just getting one of the below options. By far the best way to keep the device dry even if it's in the water for days.
Mpow Universal Waterproof Case, IPX8 Waterproof Phone Pouch Dry Bag for iPhone8/7/7plus/6s/6/6s plus Samsung galaxy s8/s7 LG V20 Google Pixel HTC10 (Clear 2-Pack) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01I1430WQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Gs5YzbASDWPPM

I have literally taken a phone Scooba diving with the joto.
It was awesome got some cool pics
For Scuba diving or beach use in general use a case. Thinking of it, why use this phone Scuba diving anyway? I'd have to step it up to my GoPro Hero in that case.
Try ghostek. It has a good waterproof case. I'm waiting on mine. Will update you guys about how it is.

LIfeproof cases, but Lifeproof seems to be part of the Apple fan club with limited Samsung cases and then they refer you to Otterbox which are not "water proof".
I bought this and its on slow boat crossing the seas.... be here oct3-19...

I am glad it is ip68 BUT on the beach, I am more worried of the salt water and/or salt water dried sand!!!!
Thanks for the replies. For those saying to just take the phone in the water and it'll be fine. I think it's best not to risk it, especially since warrenty doesnt cover it and I make limited funds per month and live paycheque to paycheque.

I just my case in a few days ago and LOVE IT... however, with that comment, it would be my daily case but I cannot due to the biggest problem. SPen is tough to get out and they give you a tool to do so.
with that I had a redpepper case on my note 3 and it had no spen port so I give these guys props for putting it there and hope they look at my review I put on amazon (being approved hopefully) and think of how to do it differently.
my review I put up was..
I do not usually write reviews; however, this product needs one!
I have never had a case on my note 3, just a screen protector film and it shows... But I have always had a redpepper note 3 waterproof case which was 3 stars at best...
now this case...
I have not had a case on my note 8 and we do go to the beach a lot so even though this phone is ip68 - I still need a case.
Pro's
Case style - Very slim - feels nice in the hands, looks great, great pen response on cover, great finger response with cover getting edge app to slide out. contoured shape around the glass is very nice, back is done very nice with it also being contoured in a bit so you can lay phone down and know camera/etc will not lay on desk.
sound is clear playing videos with all ports closed
charging port open - even using micro usb to micro c - fits great and no issues
headphone port - OEM headphones plugged in nicely and no issues
volume up/down and power button (I don't use Bixby) - very well made, nice feel, and feel comfortable using
material - case appears to be well made soft plastic (opposed to the redpepper which is hard and constantly chips pieces off)
Con's
fingerprint - tough to get working but it works and have to maneuver finger around a few times.
SPen - my biggest gripe and why this case cannot be my daily and will only be used at the beach, a tool supplied to get the pen out. you CANNOT get the pen out no matter what you do without a tool of some sort thus a 4 star.
conclusion:
Would be my daily case if it wasn't for the required tool to get the SPen out. My wife made a comment asking me if there is a holder for the tool and I said ummm no and I don't want to need to use a tool but the more I think about it... I would be fine if there was a little sleeve or something for that tool to slide into. My note 3 had a redpepper case for just the beach and there is NO pen port, so I give these guys credit for having the port but there needs to be some easier accessibility. Maybe the pen clips into the rubber before pushing in or something... just an idea...
I'm going to do a youtube video on this (never done one of those either) as this case deserves it. I am HIGHLY impressed! with it and the cost as it is close to what I would expect from a lifeproof case and I have bought many for my wifes iphones over the years.
---------- Post added at 08:25 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:09 AM ----------
^^^ Correction... after searching amazon for Note 8 waterproof case, I have found that there are others and most are pretty much the same.
few even had the same tool, ughhhh BUT I noticed one that had no tool and said to use the rubber plug (which had a groove in it) to retrieve the SPen.
I then decided to try that with mine and guess what IT WORKS!!!!! only thing is the SPen sits there, and not "clicked" into its spot. Doesn't seem to be an issue yet but time will tell.
Update. Got my freebies in.. wireless charging not working. Crap. Back to no case

I have a rhinoshield crashguard on my Note8 which is a hassle to remove. By superthin case, I assume you meant something like the clear plastic back one from Samsung with almost no thickness addition on any side. In that case, does your Note8 barely fit the Joto or do you have a little bit more space left on top/bottom?

I have a carbon fiber Pitaka case it's only a few hairs thick. It's a tight fit at the top for it already anything thicker may be an issue, but I believe there are similar products to Joto that could fit the phone.

Which Official Case is best for the Ultra?

I am upgrading from the Note 9 with the leather case, which ended up showing a lot of wear. I do like the pocket inside the front cover to carry my license. I see that Samsung is going to offer an S-view cover and a wallet case. Any thoughts on which would be best for the Note 20 Ultra?

With the extra $50 credit for accessories I ended up getting the Wallet case from Samsung for under $10. Reviews on the same version for the S20 Ultra were mixed, but the price was right for me.
For the past 3 or 4 years I have bought the official Samsung LED Case cover and quite honestly they have been brilliant. The one I have been using on my current phone (Note 10+) still looks as good as new after 12 months. The LED notifications are also really useful and make the case stand out (but not in a tacky blingy way)
They may not offer really robust protection, but I have dropped my phone a couple of times and not even the case got damaged. So as long as you aren't working on a building site or doing some kind of extreme activity I think you'll be just fine.
The only issue is they are crazy expensive.
.
I ended up using the $200 accessory benefit for the LED Wallet case along with the Beans. It arrives today so I'll be able to get a sense of the size of the phone in my hand. I had used that model case on my Note 8 and thought it worked well.

Just a hair taller then note 10 plus but not much at all!
The LED wallet case came today. Same width as the Note 9 Samsung leather wallet case and less than 1/4 inch taller. Could be just a little thinner than the Note 9 case. When I had the Samsung LED case on my note 8 I opened the phone far fewer times since I could see who was calling on the front of the case.
I always get the black Samsung Rugged cases. Note 10+ version had some paint scuffing issues on the kickstand but I love those cases, and it appears that the camera will be flush with the back from looking at it. I guess I'll have to see for sure when I get the phone. I don't want a case with the camera bulging out of the back.

I've used the OEM LED Wallet case for a week now and am pleased with the protection. While it is expensive, consider that since the front flap protects the screen, you can go with just a film screen protector instead of a substantially more expensive glass protector. I never had a cracked screen when using past Sammy wallet cases on my Note 8 or Note 9. I tend to carry my phones in a holster attached to my belt, so it is going in and out of the holster many times a day.

I would like to use more cover cases because I like the idea of having the display covered when not in use but I keep thinking about the awkward use whilst trying to take pictures or record videos and having that flap just hanging like that.
I wonder if anyone's made a cover case with a camera cutout for this phone? This way you can fold the cover all the way over and still have the camera cleared to shoot? I wouldn't mind having that area for the camera open on the front for the display. I'd still have most of the front display covered.
I don't know.

JJNUSA leather case
https://www.amazon.com/JJNUSA-Handma...ef_=ast_sto_dp
you know i never thought trying to find a case was going to leave me so hard pressed. note i do not mind the camera bump one bit. but they could have rounded out the camera hump a bit more. not the corners, but where the surface meets the edges and also they could have slanted the sides a bit more angled. who knows they did pull it off pretty good.
still on the camera bump.
note: with JJNUSA leather case you will be covering the mic on the camera bump. if that is a problem for you look elsewhere for a case.
i have received 200 in incentives to order goodies when i got my phone pre ordered and used it to order a few cases.
cases i ordered:
samsung rugged: bulky, heavy, don't like the texture on the back and flimsy kickstands that shoot off when used
samsung leather case: upgrade from last years, 2g lighter. seamless, but warps at the bottom. good cam protection.
samsun silicon: unsure if food grade safe. and slippery as glass
-other cases-
spigen Rugged Armor: oddly best all tpu case with carbon fiber accents. the back is slippery if trying to reach across the screen. side bumpers have one way slip grip and flimsy. camera is well protected. pen cut out too deep corner exposed but covered. top /bottom bumper good but top may block ear piece. 2g heavier then jjnusa leather
...now my official review of the JJNUSA Handmade Leather Case...
NOTE i used amazon prime
don't let the first pic they have on amazon throw you off, but what bothers me is the video they added to the product and it is of the s20 ultra; the camera lens is so scratched. i am still baffled how they did that. then again we will see in due time, because i can not stand the samsung leather case(which got me hooked on leather cases oddly) it is too slippery. the jjnusa case has tpu sides and saddle leather on back with plastic on the inside that the phone rests on. but i will say the leather on the back is so soft i think it sorta makes up for the lack of suede like the official samsung case has. then again the leather is so thick its' edges pop out the mold a teensy-weensy bit, but i doubt with proper use and not picking at it it will survive for a long time. with the 5% off coupon i also got another 1 usd off(who knows if it was the amazon prime). so for 19.95 it is a steal. most other leather cases are $30+. a steal; why may you say? hold on let me get to the rest of it. if we all remember the lg g4 leather back it was a looker. that was it, because it scratched easily and punctured easily. then we go onto the samsung leather case that scratches easily with minimal show. further more i can not say what that will mean over long term usage with this case from jjnusa. treat it lightly and it should be fine. now back to the leather on the jjnusa case. the leather reminds me of the type you get on a saddle and does not separate from itself. that is a plus. but a minus if the antiquing they use comes off very very easily?, and it does(con or not?) i had a cane that had antiquing and it turned my hands black, but after it leveled out it was fine. you know they always slap so much on to fill in the design that almost certainly more then half they put on will rub off. i have rubbed off some already. hence it would not rub off like wow, i had to use my nail. no way does it show like scratches on the samsung leather case. either way the extra antiquing will no matter what fade away over time and settle down to where it should be. i still think it will look good. at the same time the leather is much more scratch resistant then the latter. and the design and the look really grew on me. now on to the sides. the power button and volume are labeled with symbols and i like it even though i will never look at it. what else i like is that they are tpu like the rest of the sides. the tactile of the buttons are sturdy then again not too stiff not too mushy. then there is a bonus or an achilles heal; you move down the same side as the buttons and find a wrist strap punch out so you can add a wrist strap. have not tested it, seems like it should be worthy of use and not fearing. the bonus is removing the phone from the case, it does not shoot out like it does with the samsung leather case does. still it holds it in better. this is where i tell you that the jjnusa case has way better screen protection that leaves a better feel in the hand. the samsung leather case has a squidgy spongy top and bottom. the bottom is already warped and i never used it; i just put it on a few times and took it off. also a fail for the bottom bumper is the difficulty to remove the spen without nails. the jjnusa case is cut out just right and since it is thinner and more stiffer in a good way you can press your thumb or finger and hear that satisfying click to eject it. with that said the top and bottom bumper are raised higher then the samsung to protect the screen. the samsung case is more flush and flimsy.
i am a happy camper and if it fairs well i will update to 5 stars from 4, but i am really thinking at the price to slap down for another. as we all know leather cases do not last as long as other types
the reason i gave it 4 stars is i never really heard of JJNUSA till i saw them on etsy.com and since they where based in china i thought meh. then i thought to ebay's third party cases and said but leather? does not smell much like leather, oddly that is how saddles with the same type of leather smells. or it could be the antiquing they used and the shipping package. it was not shipped in a box or cheap plastic, it was in a cloth sleeve in a sealed padded envelope. JJNUSA do claim Oregon origins... yeah right etsy.com says ships from china.
i have played around with plenty of cases and phones in cases so it's not like i only have really had the note 20 ultra... just do not get one of them ultra thin all tpu cases. i have one for my lg g4 and only really protects the sides and back. busted the screen.

I just bought the official Samsung leather case, it looks classy, it's well made and smells amazing too! I went for the black one for my mystic bronze phone as I really didn't like the tan coloured one. It's lightweight, feels lovely to hold and does not make the phone bulky. Obviously protection is quite limited, I tend to use this case at home and transfer to a flip case when I am out and about.
The rugged one is quite the opposite, it's heavy, bulky and not very attractive but it will offer the best protection.
So depending on your usage you will have to make a decision based on looks vs protection.

I was a bit concerned by your comment, when you said the Samsung ones warp? I did a quick check online and didn't see any reports of this. What was your experience with this?

General Initial impression on Ergonomics

Being a right handed man with medium large hands I find in my first day with the phone, I immediately feel like the camera array should have been placed on the left side of the phone.
My index finger keeps hitting the edge of the camera hump and it's a bit annoying. The case I have makes it a little better but the case is somewhat hump shaped like the back of the phone so not quite smooth as my s10+ is.
How do you guys feel?

Coming from the s20 ultra, to Note 20 ultra, and from the s10+, I like the feel of this phone so far the most. I'm not sure how to put it, but it gives a very premium feel over the Note 20 ultra for sure. It's smooth, responsive, and the fingerprint reader felt faster by a long shot. Showed my GF who isn't well the most technically handy, and she even mentioned how much faster it was.
Feel of the phoner ergonomically it's the most comfortable phone I've had in a few years and It kinda surprised me. Usually I like the square feel of the Note 20 ultra, but this makes me hate the square feeling. Definitely wasn't expecting that
Very premium feel, but SUPER slippery, especially if you use it without cover (like I do).
After a while you do feel it's heavy. The only thing I don't like about it!
nope, one more thing. Taking screenshots!
I've come from the s10+ and wasn't quite ready for just how much phone there is! Luckily I've got pretty big hands but I think I'll be in the market for as slim a case as I can find.
It is heavy as well, but if it can sustain me for a day then I'm happy with that trade off
Compared to my S20+ this phone is a bit of a brick but in a good way. It's a keeper.
I was using the s20 ultra, then the s21 ultra now I think the s21 ultra feels better in the hand tad skinnier than the s20 ultra, and it`s a beast, fingerprint reader is so much faster than the s20 ultra one, everything about the s21 ultra is better than the s20 ultra except for the missing SD card, but I never used one anyways.
So another day with it and I will say its a heavy phone. Compared to what I've own last being the s10+ Going from a phone with no hump to a phone with a big hump takes some getting used to. Buttons all on right side is a plus. Samsung soft touch silicon is a great feeling case and makes handling of the phone much better. Even the S- Pen silicone case give a better handling experience then hard / rugged cases, even while being wider to accommodate the S Pen. I never had to much problem with the S10+ finger print reader and I have none thus far with the S21 Ultra. I find that less aggressively curved edges have reduce accidental touches to 0 even without a case . Also the screen curve seems to allow plastic film protectors to adhere more easily.
I think I'm going to have to re-learn how I hold a phone with the Ultra, I usually use one hand with pinky under the USB port to support but the weight and the sharp edge of the Caseology case I've got means it digs into my finger.
The weight doesn't feel as balanced as the S10+ either, it's top heavy and feels like it will topple backwards out of my hand. I've ordered a different case with grippier edges (the Samsung Clear Protective) but I'm definitely considering a pop-socket or similar as well.

Accessories Is this the slimmest case for the s21 ultra or have you seen others..

Hello,
I just want the slimmest case for the Ultra and was about to get this one:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08THKYZ8K/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?smid=A3TJPO0WY4WIAE&psc=1
I have other cases for other situations and needs, so this time all I want is the slimmest case available.
No, I am NOT looking for SKINS or "just go without a case" comments...so thank you.
I bought this one from Ali:
https://a.aliexpress.com/_vLZg9j
At 6.7g it is the lightest I found. Also it fits perfectly with no fingerprints and it is cheap.
I bought 3 other cases that stayed between 1h to 1 minute before I switched back to this light one. Between protection and lightweight I tend to always chose lightweight.
Caudabe has the sheath for the S21 Ultra.
I need to order one myself.
Lew Later cases are supposed to be extremely thin and light. They're expensive though, but available for S21 Ultra:

They are planning to release their Tab S8 Ultra cases in May. So if like me you've been on the fence about settling for a garbage cover, hang on there a few more weeks.
No rugged one yet but they've got a thin one now. Pricey, but thinking about it. Nice: "*Compatible with Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra Book Cover Keyboard*". Also "*Attachable side protection only for tablet mode*".
I wish they would have a dummy plug built-in for the charging port. There is at least one case that does, but the whole thing wouldn't work with a Book Cover Keyboard.
And here is a review of the case for s8u -
Actually not so easy to use considering the "Attachable side protection..."
Not happy... after a complete lack of communication about the S8 Tab covers by mailing list, Twitter, Instagram etc, I asked again what is up and this time got:
"Currently, we do not have definite plans to release a Rugged Armor case compatible with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra at the moment
However, we will definitely consider your interest and pass it along to our developers! Thank you for the suggestion."
The ****ty case options are enough to regret buying this thing. Should have just stuck with the S7+

I think this is just about timing - if Samsung continues releasing 14.6" tablets, Spigen and other companies will release relevant covers. BTW, haven't you considered SUPCASE for S8U? https://www.supcase.com/collections/galaxy-tab-s

Oh wow. If I could still connect the Keyboard with the tablet with that case on it, I'd definitely go for it. I like the port-protector, plus it makes it easier to find the USB-C port without scratching the side of the tablet up.

I would as well. Unfortunately, I haven't ever found such cases for the Tab series.

I've bought one and it also sits gathering dust for three reasons.
1. I want a physical cover that can also protect the paper feel / textured screen films that I use. Even if I was willing to compromise and put the film over the screen protector, the loss in pen sensitivity becomes significant.
2. I prefer the angle options the Spigen folding cover gives to the kick stand approach.
3. The pen holders are too tight to fit the Staedler Norris fat stylus securely. The Spigen cases are designed in a way which is much more accommodating of different stylus sizes.
I also bought a Fintie case which is more like "magic cover" style but it's flimsy crap with magnets so weak they don't even stay secure under the weight of the cover let alone with the tablet in it. The official Samsung kickstand case is what I'm using for now but yeah, I'm selling the tablet either way and going back to a Plus.
In many ways such a nice tablet, but I guess it's a niche market. A high end oversized relatively heavy tablet suited more to staying inside an office or maybe commute between home and work might be part of the reason for lack of good rugged case options, especially when it competes against the keyboard cover functionality.
Ergh. Was considering getting the Spigen for the Ultra - it's even much cheaper on Amazon right now, but there is only one user rating, and it's 1 out of 5:
I was really glad that I found this one that is similar to the Samsung genuine case and lighter weight but compatible with keyboard as well. However, after a day of use, I started to find critical down sides and there are 2.
1. There is magnet that doesn't compatible with Gal' Tab S8 Ultra and that interrupt S-pen recognition. This is really critical if you are trying to write at the spot where the magnet is...
2. This is much more critical... on the second day, the tablet was malfunctioning that the screen doesn't turn on properly. It turns on after several time of clicking the power button or double taping the screen. However, that only last for 1 sec. I can't do anything because it keeps turns off. First I thought something broken. However, as soon as I take off from the case, it works fine. So, I tried put my tablet on the back of the case. As soon as it contacted the case, the screen went out and doing the same thing. It is breaking my tablet.
I love Spigen. I used their brand ever since I had iPhone3GS... However.. this product is very disappointed.

Too bad. I did find some attachable USB-C dust plugs, though, I'm considering trying. A different one on Amazon had at least one negative comment about coming out by accident too easily, but this one looks like it might stay in better if I can judge just by looks.
