Question PSA: How to fix the notification delay or non-receipt issue. Truly pathetic of Google and Samsung. - Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

SOLUTION TO DELAYED-NOTIFICATIONS:
Enable USB debugging on the phone.
You just unzip the file provided here in your PC: https://www.xda-developers.com/install-adb-windows-macos-linux/
Navigate to it via terminal.
Then, after you connect the phone to your PC, run:
./adb devices
./adb shell dumpsys deviceidle disable
That'll fix it for sure.
I simply cannot recommend Android to my normie friends and family.
Let me restate this: It is not our job to fix Google's bugs.
This is a US-centric view.
If you can't tell: I am a bit aggravated right now.
I could not get my GMail, GCal, and other notifications to come through properly on Pixel 5's Android 11 OR S21 Ultra's Android 11.
This has apparently been an issue that many an Android user suffers through silently -- and, some don't even know that this is happening to them. I guess they're embarrassed to publicly state that their mobile OS is subpar.
When you get an e-mail or if a calendar event reminder is coming up, and even if your phone's screen is OFF/locked: you should get an *instant* notification. No delay whatsoever.
Well, if my screen was off/locked, I wouldn't get these notifications or it would take 10+ minutes to show. But, once I unlocked my phone: boom, notifications. And, sometimes even if my screen wasn't locked, there would be a serious delay or no notification.
After spending loads of time trying to fix this problem, me and my friend finally stumbled upon a solution: ./adb shell dumpsys deviceidle disable
A reboot eliminates this setting modification, by the way.
Do not tell me that instant e-mail notifications are not necessary. Many of us work jobs that require them to be instant.
No end user should ever have to go through this. iPhone users certainly don't go through this.
If Google doesn't care about Android users, then, why should I, as an Android user, care about Android too? Just switch to iPhone, I guess.
Google pays Apple $10bn+ every year and makes better software for iOS than it does for Android.
Just look at the damn widgets that iOS users get.
So, $10bn/year plus the cost of the software developed to cater to iOS users.
This makes Google a simp cuck to Apple, nothing else.
Would Apple ever return this favor? No.
Therefore, Google management is a simp cucked by Apple, nothing more.
We are fools to be using this OS.
If Google is willing to subsidize my iOS software updates and experience to the tune of billions of dollars every single year -- then, why not just switch?
Clearly, my experience has shown me that Android can be cheaper -- if I don't value my time.
Statistic after statistic bears it out: iPhone users are wealthier.
I am tired of being an Android luser -- why should I take on such abuse and neglect by the main author of my mobile OS?
Before you start patronizing me: YES, I tried every other bloody trick in the book to fix this issue.
No end user should ever have to go through this! No end user should have to run adb commands to enable basic functionality.
There are some basic things that modern smartphones should just be able to do: instant notifications, 3rd party camera support, functioning RCS or some other form of E2EE messaging built-in, reliable local backups, a nationwide network of repair facilities, etc.
Android fails on all of these.
iPhone ordered. Glad to leave this Android ghetto behind.
Hey Google, if you have some self-respect: then, instead of paying Apple $10bn an year and doing iOS development, how about you actually work on some basic Android functionality instead?

Way too long dude.
But I can say I never had a delay on my notifications, especially on Gmail where my phone rings before my laptop for example.
All my apps get notified in time, I can compare with Signal and it's Desktop app.
I really don't know what's the cause but if I can help.

And for you information, all your monologue about iPhone is really too much, especially when some people have the exact same issue.
Just Google iPhone notifications delay and you'll find out.
If you wanna change, just change, We are not kids, nobody is gonna tell you to stay in the Android world if you're not satisfied.
To finish, you maybe make stupid assumptions. I paid an S21U 1500 € because I can, I also have an iPhone 12 Pro from work, and I just never use it because in my tastes, this is a really bad phone to use.
Good thing We use VoIP so I just forward my professional calls now.

Try this with your phone screen off: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.firstrowria.pushnotificationtester
Set the notification to come in at like 240 seconds and lock your phone screen.
If it doesn't come in instantly as scheduled, you have a problem.

Just tested I have exactly 1 second delay .
But I think he just doesn't care. He just posted to get it out and tell the world he leaves.
As if anybody cares.

And, your phone was locked for 4-5 minutes but the notification still came through?
If so, please share your battery optimization settings and other stuff.
Screenshots of those settings would be nice.

There is a reason why iOS has at least 60% market share in the US.
It has the basics right.
It has the low-hanging fruit mastered.
My friend has a Pixel 5 and I have an S21 Ultra 256GB.
And, somehow, I'm frustrated/biased over nothing?
Clearly, I'm in the game but Android is failing us.

I configured the app for 5 min notifications and programmed a countdown of my Google Home to see what was going on.
You won't get anything from my screenshots because I have nothing special.

Yep the reason is this is an American Company that they are proud of and you can see Apple products everywhere, ads, shows, movies, etc...
That just became a standard.
A few years ago Apple had the same share but with ****ty phones, so...
Today they make good products, but that's still not enough for me.
I can't use a system where censure is normal, they chose to close the doors to every developers they want, they don't follow their own rules, they don't wanna use standards to slow down every tiers development and keep everyone in jail...
This is a biiiiiig discussion, but just like Facebook, I just can't stand their politics.
Most Americans are just blind when it comes to Apple, this is the pride of the nation.
And We don't talk bad about the pride of the Nation.

USA does not care and EU can't do much because they have less than 20% share in the rest of the world.
The only country they are afraid of is China, so they obey just to make more money and still use their factories.

Adaptive battery and put unused apps to sleep are known troublemakers.
Android will manage very well without them.
Any power hogs deal with on an individual case by case basis. Optimize it; flipping a toggle switch isn't optimizing
At the most, simply close that app when done with it. The Brave browser is real bad like that if you don't close it out.
Your results may vary... play with it; WYSIWYG.
As for Apple, it's a closed platform one trick pony and it sucks.
As for Android, you get what you put into it.

Or, it's because the basics actually work on iPhones.
And, those basics are important to people.
Steve Jobs was right about one thing: The sheep outnumber us.
They use their numbers and money to get a better app experience for themselves.
Developers develop for sheep, not for Android Joes.

Well that depends what basics are to you.
To me it's just gonna be able to install any app I want and not being insulted by a closed and proprietary system.
If basics is just messages/calls/Facebook/snapshat just like 70% of the US teenagers then you can buy a 200$ phone for that.
But no, I see my nephew, He needs to get in the club, not to be different of the mass.
But tbh your arguments doesn't apply in the rest of the world, even in European countries where Samsung is still the leader and Chinese brands are hype

Well I love android . Really but the notifications delay driving me crazy
I have s21 ultra . Honestly brilliant peace of hardware but with a very problematic bug in the notifications area.
Some apps send notifications without any issues but some apps don't. And when I'm unlock my screen it bombs my device like crazy.
I will try this add solution
Hope it will work for me

Lets start a mindless list of all the things you hate about apple

I'm sure there are good things about apple. I sell Macs at work so I have to say good things about apple so I can get my $25 comission. This thread isn't about that however. This thread is a VENT thread. I want to hear all the things you hate, can't stand, dislike or are slightly irritated by - when it comes to anything apple.
Apple fanboys - with any luck there are sure to be a lot of baseless accusations, arguments without due grounds and all sorts of logical fallicies. There may even be embrassing pictures of Steve Jobs if we're lucky enough. However I just would like you to keep in mind we don't want any but's. No "But actually it doesn't", no "They fixed that in version 7" ect. The only butt allowed is if someone posts a picture of Steve Jobs mooning preschoolers.
If you want to, start a thread about why apple roxor your soxor, but please, give us space to vent!
I'll start:
I hate yuppies using an iPhone as a status symbol, and every single god damm person that sees my phone (HTC Touch Pro2) asking me either "Why didn't you get an iPhone" or "Is that some kind of iPhone knockoff?"
I hate people buying Iphones because they think there the best thing ever.

it's because the iPhone.....is their "precious"
I hate the way apple purposely Design the phone so that features standard in every other phone, are not there or DO NOT WORK. Eg bluetooth: only works for other iphones. SD card slot has already been mentioned, Itunes is annoying to use, No USB ports, and this is only just a start on its flaws. Why Don't many reviewers mention these flaws? Impartiality seems to go out the window when apple is involved.
I also dislike the free adverising apple gets when major companies adveritse their new iphone apps, or iphone only promotions. It would be fine if they advertised it in conjunction with their apps for other phone brands, but they dont. This just contributes to the misconception that iphone is the only phone with any support.

I hate Apple because they...
1. Make up marketing terms to make it look like they invented stuff that they didn't.
a. "Retina display". WTF? I wasn't aware there was a limit on how dense pixels can be. If you listen to Steve, it's as if they made a huge technological breakthrough so that we can finally have a 326dpi screen.
Newsflash: The Toshiba G900 had a 313dpi screen. It was released in 2007.
b. "Face Time". WTF? It's called "video calling". And it's been around for as long as I can remember 3G being around. Plus, Apple's implementation doesn't even work over cellular network. When it finaly does, it'll be another new "feature".
2. Introduce rudimentary features that have been around for years and then make it sound like they're new and awesome.
a. These were not available until 2009. MMS, cut-copy-paste, video recording, camera autofocus.
b. These were not available until 2010. Wallpaper, camera flash, multitasking, folders.
1. Their PR lies; about stats, about innovation, about anything
2. Jobs is a psycho
3. They make products for the technologically retarded and I am not technologically retarded
4. They lie
5. They lie
6. They are fanned by 1000000 douche bags across the US
7. They lie
Apple blows. Steve Jobs needs to die already.
Loving the contributions guys, keep em comming.
I hate how people always assume that there are more apps on an iphone - the Windows Mobile platform has been around for 10years, is completely open and anyone can install any software on their phone. There is no way apple ever will have an edge when they strange their software developers.
I hate how people will spend more money on a mac product that does exactly the same (if not less) as a similar product, because its 'apple'.
The iphone is like McDonalds. It tastes good (to they majority), its always the same (dependable) you have a great range (of whats on the menu) and anyone can hand over money and enjoy their food.
Windows Mobile is like cooking. If you don't know what your doing, you're going to be boiling 2minute noodles and not be that impressed compared to a happy meal. However if you're willing to learn about cooking, to put the time and effort into finding out what you can do with different ingrediants, how to put them together - then you can make an absolutely amazingly delicious meal for a fraction of the cost of takeaway food
Sure you can't just get delicious food if you're not willing to put the time in, but if you are? You can get something that meets your every craving and satisfies all your tastes!

You know you'll have to change the name when Ice Cream comes out, right?
I still wonder why someone hasn't taken the name "Chirp" for a Twitter app yet.
Anyways, it looks really nice. I'd be more willing to lay down some cash for it if it had a widget.
Why didnt you make this app backwards compatible with android 2.2? I mean there are many tablets out there, like the galaxy tab and the viewsonic gtab, that are unfortunately stuck on froyo but are still tablets. Couldn't you have made it compatible and set a screen size minimum to 7"? That way you can prevent people from trying to make this work on a 3.5" screen (tho someone would get around it if they REALLY want it) but you keep the millions of froyo tab owners happy (and more $$ in your wallet). For example, take the touchdown exchange app. It automatically detects the larger screen on the tab and adjusts its UI accordingly. For $2.99 I would expect you to put more time and effort into your app because that is expensive for a twitter especially since we know many of the popular twitter apps will offer it for free. I have no problem supporting a dev especially when they go the extra mile to make things work properly across all devices. Making this compatible on the galaxy tab would be evident of this and I would buy it in a heartbeat. Please consider this.
Didnt google release a fragments library or something so this can be done pre-honeycomb?
I hope that you will find some insight to my opinion so I want to share it:
I think that the onslaught of new development for honeycomb tablets is great and I want to encourage it by purchasing these apps. With that said, I seem to be noticing a trend where these apps are coming out and they're basically alpha or beta stage without optimization or some features missing or "planned" with a pricetag and no ad-supported option for the users to download and check out the apps.
If you want to throw a new app out there, and ask us to test and feedback on it for a month... make it free during the development phase or only ad supported, and then when all of the features you are happy with are in and considered "ready to go" publish a paid version of the app and those of us who are really happy about it will gladly go buy it.
What I don't like, is having to pay 2 or 3 bucks for something and make a decision in 15 minutes or less as to whether or not it really works well. You cannot make an informed decision about a product in 15 minutes or less. This is not you the developers fault, and for that I am truly apathetic to your situation. If the 24 hour window still existed, or even if it was expanded to say 2 hours then I probably wouldn't make this post.
To combat the 15 minute window, I request that you consider an ad-supported version for people to spend more than a few minutes checking out.
For what its worth, I like the concept of a tablet optimized twitter client but judging only by screenshots I cannot tell if I would truly be satisfied or even need it as the official twitter app works just fine.

Making this compatible on the galaxy tab would be evident of this and I would buy it in a heartbeat. Please consider this.

For me, I chose to focus on the tablet OS. While there are a few tablets out there running the phone OS, the trend over the next 6 months will be a whole new set of tablets running Honeycomb. I'd rather work on supporting that platform properly than diverting attention to support a setup that will be a tiny fraction of the market in about a year. I have no intention of bringing Newsr or TweetComb to earlier versions of Android for this reason.
There are Twitter apps, and Google Reader apps for that matter, which run on the phone OS just fine. I saw a market opportunity to make something for Honeycomb, using Honeycomb-specific features (that aren't included in the compat library), for both types of application.
If TweetComb isn't worth $2.99 to you, then I understand. I have put, and will continue to put, a lot of time and effort into it. I've done this with Newsr and will continue to with both. I'm not a company that can afford to put out free applications and hope I gain substantial market share to become attractive to acquisition. I'm a solo developer, with a full time job and a full time family, so for me the value proposition is making a couple bucks here and there to justify the serious amount of time and energy I put into developing Android apps. I have gotten a ton of positive feedback from my various applications, and it's been a really worthwhile endeavor for me.
I hope that answers your question on some level.
Edit: You know, and with all of that said, I am just a solo guy here in my home office making decisions and moving forward. Could I have made a mistake with TweetComb's price? Absolutely. Maybe I should have done any number of things. Frankly, I question every decision I make with my apps because I _do_ care. I put so much time and effort into them because I _do_ care. I want your input, I want everyone's input. It's not set in stone that I'll never have a free version, but right now something told me to put it up for $2.99 as I have with my other apps. Maybe that was a mistake, or maybe not. All I can say is I made a decision and moved forward with it. I'll second guess that decision, and every other, forever.
Imo the more dedicated tablet developers the better. Thanks again for the app

I think you meant to say "the more dedicated honeycomb app developers". Cuz I have a tablet and its not honeycomb and we get no support. Oh well..

I'll just share with you my purchasing MO:
Pocket Cloud: Tried the free version for a few days, decided that it was worth 15 bucks and bought it.
Quick Office Pro HD: Had to wait for an actual tablet version but based on prior experience with the included app I purchased it. Again 15 bucks.
Reditta the new Honeycomb Redit client: The guy has an ad-supported version and then I think it costs $1.60 something. The current plan is to purchase it after my next paycheck as I am using the free ad-supported version and I like it (after spending more than 15 minutes with it).
The same is true for SNESoid and a couple games I've purchased after playing around with them for a couple days.
It could very well be worth your time to slap together an ad supported version of each of your clients for people like me who pretty much habitually buy any good/decent app on the tablet.
Nothing wrong with making money!
While I understand you, myself, and the typical crowd from XDA follows that approach, the _vast_ majority of consumers don't. I considered going with ad-supported, but honestly, from my experience, ad-supported really isn't even worth the inconvenience of the end user's experience. I'd rather just put it up for free without any advertising if I went that route.

How about a time bomb, one time in-app purchase that is required after the 1st hour of use? Just trying to think creatively lol.
I don't think $2.99 is that big of a deal tbo. The most important thing imo is a responsive developer and one that listens to feedback. Whatever you want added or fixed will taken care of. Just my 2 cents worth.

It's $2.99 people! It's not like it's up there at $10 or $15! We need to support independent developers like these.
And Chris, stick to developing purely for Honeycomb. I own a Galaxy Tab and the standard Twitter and Google Reader apps are fine on those. I'd rather have one amazing app than two mediocre apps. Keep up the good work!
Great app good job..please continue supporting honeycomb as you have a customer in me! One question I have is how do you open the trending topics? Also if you can make a Facebook app like this I'd buy it the same day as the Facebook apps for android sucks!!!!!
2.99 works for me. Bought it this morning and already an update. Thanks

Kill me, I don't think android is perfect

actually this isn't just about android, the same **** happens in forms about everything from TV series, movie stars to books and video card manufacturers, who knows.
What happens is whenever I make a post about something negative about whatever is discussed in the forum, everyone wants to kill me. I mean what the ****? Nothing is perfect okay? It’s a sad fact of life, learn to accept it?
It would seem to me that many people here tend to think their awesome magical super multitasking gigantic 6.99in. screen octa-core hyper-fast android phone with 35 home screens 126 gadgets, running a different LWP on each homescreen, customized to the last pixel, rooted even before being produced, quad-led flash and 82mp camera with 10x optical zoom and phase-detect autofocus and optical inferred, ultraviolet, x-ray mode, with photon-multiplying night vision, with built-in light saber, smartphone. Is the most perfect phone ever to be conceived since before the Big Bang, never to be seen again, not in this universe, or any other coming after it, or any other parallel to it, by any intelligence, divine or not, alive or not, carbon based or not, organic or mechanical, conscious or not. Not even the all-powerful all-knowing omnipotent omniscient Yahweh can reproduce, or even conceive its intricate design.
It’s just so sad whenever I post something going against such a belief without repeatedly expressing it was definitely caused by my own stupidity and inability to write my own operating system with machine language from the ground up blind folded one handed on a phone, debugging it, and installing it on the very same phone, without any other device or help. It seems that if I don’t do that, I am not allowed to say anything negative about android or people would try to kill me.
I know you have your explanations, you call it the “constructive criticism” standard. Something like, as I understand it, if I wanted to say something bad about android, I better have a solution for it. So if I don’t have a solution we should just sweep it under the rug and never mention it? Why is that? Cuz someone might get upset? I mean how pathetic? Like does your life’s sole purpose depend on the invincibility of the argument of your phone’s perfect design?
Now let me say something more serious. You shouldn’t find your confidence in your phone, or the brand of your motherboard, or the price of your watch, or the horsepower of your car, or the cup size of your girlfriend. Because all these, one day they won’t be there with you, they all diminish with time. So go find something more worthwhile, so you don’t get mad when people convince you that your phone isn’t perfect.
Well, I want to kill you for making a hard to read post.
In before the lock?
I don't see anything specifically lock-worthy, but, just in case ib4c since Archer told us not to post ib4l ....it will probably go on for a bit since Archer is likely asleep and I don't see vanessaem online.

You make a thread titled "Android is not perfect" and don't give a single reason why it's not perfect. Instead you go insulting those who use the operating system (Which I would hardly call constructive criticism). Yes most of us realize that Android is not perfect. Software will never be perfect. There will always be better and more things to add. Now I agree with you in that some people take the specs of their phone way too seriously but that is not the majority of users.
P.S. It's not just Android people that will get mad if you start insulting. If you go to an Ubuntu forum and telling them that Linux is crap, they will yell at you. Same with an iPhone forum.
Oh and...
I'd rather kill the OP than read that wall of text. I don't think anyone would mind that..

I'll never understand why someone would go to the effort of typing up such a rant and not even bother to make it readable? Isn't the whole point of rants like this to have people read them (and based on the title, incite some kind of argument, it's obvious troll bait)?

Cooincidence or long Term Plan Googles ? Why Android is called android

Ever since i was puzzled why Google calls thier MobileOS Android. I know the explanation about the 90s Game still i never bought it.
Still now with Rapid growing new AI Technology, more and more Datacollecting it hit he. Better late then never.
Android seems to be supposed to not only include Humans into their Big Ai and Data Network, now make it part as their Workforce.
And it was planned so from the beginning, with a very bold clue even in the Naming.
If we look closely it is already doing that. Not only collecting your personal preferences, need and thoughs but also using everyone of us to collect data. If as simple as collecting Wifi Networknames to map the world, or using the GPS/Maps data to Map current Traffic. Or more complex things hidden in our daily Data.
Googles newest Effort, now let us use their Neural Network to analys Data,.. looks like someone wants to learn a lot.
it really apeears to me that not the OS is Android itself alone, but the combination OS and User is the Android.
That google wants to be in every aspect of our life isnt something new, but that we are in googles life is kinda something not outspoken. Were Part of that machinery, bribed with free Services that arent even Services they are simply Tools and we are their willing workers. And i have that strange feeling that this isnt something that just happend, more that this is part of a very big long though plan (i dont call it business plan for a reason).
Well as long this stays passive, well fine who cares you could say.
But is it really passive?
How much are we influenced by filtered Data tailored for us personally.
How much is there to come ?
And what will happen when it wakes up ?
As an Interresting sidenote was microsoft AI on twitter who became a nazi propagate genozide within 24 hours.
Ofc can be simply bad coding by MS, or just a natural reaction of any Inteligence to Human socieity on the net, who knows..
Something to think about
PS You may think iam crazy, then again maybe google fed you the exact information to make you think that

why the effort?
if there is some day an all knowing everything controlling AI why should it rely on human ways of control and war?
i think there much sneakier ways to reduce mankind to nothing if that AI really wants to, hell we would do the work for it without knowing.

Not everyone relies on computers or has an online presence. So human killing robots is the best way to be sure to get everyone. In my humble opinion. :good:

No. Computers do not think and are not capable of thinking. They do what they are told and *nothing* else.
The Microsoft thing was misreported as click-bait to sucker people who will believe anything they read. The phrase "repeat after me..." was used to make it repeat offensive phrases. It did not "decide" that it liked Hitler - it did what it was told.
What you suggest cannot happen with our technology - it is simply not capable.

Not the point. Practically everyone relys of computer if you use em or not, if he knows that or not.
Energy, Food, Money, information and communication,.... take whatever you want, its all running now deeply dependent on computers and networks.
you dont need to kill mankind, if you control every little piece of imnformation you control the people.
look like countries like north korea work. still they need violence but most people there really think kim is a god.
and if the biug AI wants to kill us, well simply change a few numbers.
make mankind believe we have enough food and energy until we drained everything to zero and then we simply starve, simplfied spoken
why the effort?
if there is some day an all knowing everything controlling AI why should it rely on human ways of control and war?

Girlfriend thinks im lying and hiding app sources

Hello,
I need help. This probably sounds ridiculous, but its actually a very heavy subject between me and my girlfriend. Its the cause of endless fights between us, and inspires an every-looming lack of trust she has in me. And it honestly feels like theres NOTHING i can even do about it, because i sincerely do not have an answer for her questions, nor do i even know how to explain the things shes seeing in my phone. Im not an android guy, and shes not exactly a tech person period...which makes this even more frustrating. But anyways, i'll move on...
So heres the gist of it, and some rough examples.
My gf will pick up my phone, and start going thru it. (Which isnt a problem, i have nothing to hide) And she'll use these 3rd party apps to look at/look for APK files, and **** like that, and these apps she uses tell her these apps were 'user' installed (as opposed to preinstalled or whatever), and then she asks me where i downloaded those thing from. And before i go any further i should explain, that for some reason, she flips out if she thinks i installed an app from anywhere other than Google Play Store...and God honest truth yall, i do NOT. I think she trips out because she sees me use Github and stuff on my laptop (i use linux) and she sees i can put pretty much any program from any source on any device... and that for some reason makes her feel like im being sneaky, or doing malicious things. -_- But anyways, she sees this stuff, and accuses me from downloading it from other places besides GooglePlay, and i swear to her i dont, and it causes HUGE issues yall.. like major. I dont get it, because first off, even if i DID, who the **** cares? I dont see why it even matters to her. But Secondly, she accouses me of lying to her about the source of such stupid apps, like "Google Play Services"...thats the most recent one... and she makes me so god damn mad because i didnt even download it, and more importantly didnt download it from another source...its maddening.
We've had other areas of focus before too... like several times shes tripped out when she decided to look at app permissions of everything in my phone and began wondering why everything has such extreme permissions and such...and somehow i feel like she thought i was doing something to spy on her or monitor what shes was doing..and yea, that was a fun time. And sometimes i dont even have an answer period...Like she'll ask about an app and when i see it im like "i never downloaded that", or "i dont remember even putting that on my phone".... but then she thinks im lying (which once again i find so maddening) or hiding **** from her, and as usual we fight and we fight. And it was seriously an app that i DID NOT download. And sometimes i think its maybe like a feature of another app, or if its a file shes looking at it may be a dependency of some sort...but more often than not i cant explain it..and that doesnt ever end well.
Im seriously at the end of my patience..i love her to death, but i cant keep fighting with her day after day over such DUMB ****, especially when i didnt do a single thing shes accusing me of.
Sorry this is so long. But i guess my questions are:
1. How can i better identify the source of an app/file/program, so she can see that I didnt download it from some random source trying to be sneaky.
2. How can I explain various apps or programs in my phone (some have had icons, and others havent.. and the ones without have only madae her feel like im trying to hide it from her) that i didnt put there, and show her what they are, what they're for, or how they got there?
3. Is there a way to PROVE that i dont download apps from other places other than Google Play Store and LG's store thingy? Please...I think this is by far the most crucial question.
Thank you to anyone who bothered reading all of this. And thank you to anyone who takes the time to help me with this. This whole thing is crazy, and honestly heart breaking. Its the worst feeling in the world to be so adamantly called a liar when in fact you've done nothing of the things you're being accused of.
solution to your troubles should be:
I love you and I trust you, and you do the same.
so don't spy at my phone like I don't do the same to yours.
you don't know how/why some apps that you have installed haven't been downloaded from google play store, but you don't give a fluck? good choice. she should never have seen those stuff on your device, it's nothing that matters to her.
if she forces you do give an answer, it may be because she lacks of trust in you. or worse.. she'll do [she's doing?] to you what she accuses you to do to her.
This isnt normal man. I'm 38 and dated many girls. This is kinda extreme. If she goes crazy at apps that might be side loaded vs from Google than what else will she flip out about. An hour late from traffic, had to work overtime and so on.
@deadman.zr0day, your post sounds like a letter that should be sent to Dear Amy and not a technical forum. Your relationship needs more help than just dealing with your phone.
As far as your phone, have you considered adding or changing your pin code, using face lock or, a finger print so that your girlfriend can't just open your phone any time she feels like it?
lol strange story. you can date with everyone
Sounds like your girlfriend has been hacked and somebody is tapping that. They been running all kinds of deep root kits in her and now the virus in her mind has her thinking her malicious activity is about to be exposed. Get out while you can guy. End the end its always about your financial information(&self worth). get out now.

The question to ask her is, why is of such a great concern?
I don't think you can really prove that you aren't downloading apps from unknown sources. You can show her that the option to download from Unknown sources is not checked, but there are many system files and apps that run as processes that keep the OS stable, similar to a desktop operating system. I'm sure you know that that when you check on one of those apps that don't have an icon you get a message that says that it may cause the device to malfunction, become unstable or may cause other apps to stop functioning. As comical as your post is, cyber security and relationship fidelity are serious issues. I'd like to know what transpires from all of this. I hope you keep us posted.
Everything will be fine with a few bottles of wine! Cheers

To answer your three questions:
In settings, Apps, App Info, you can click an app and under App details, it will show where the app came from.
Most system apps don't have icons. You can tell you didn't put them there because you won't be able to uninstall them.
You would have to go through each one to see where it came from using the info from Question 1.
Now that that's out of the way, RUN!! Run away like your life depended on it. I don't like talking bad about another man's girl, but she crazy!
(Apparently crazy girlfriend was just doing a Youtube parody, who knew!)

Oh boy. Your story can be a best-selling netflix movie!
Why don't you try a tracking app on your both devices so that anyone of you gives (and receives) all the phone activities to (from) the other?
Ooops, this needs mutual trust which is not the case... Sorry
Honestly, I'm reluctant to give any technical advice that would enable her behavior. Her behavior is a HUGE red flag and can often act as a precursor for greater abuse. You should talk to her about respecting privacy and the importance of trust in the relationship. Perhaps this article will help: Don't Use Software To Spy On Your Spouse.
If, for some reason, you feel the need to indulge her paranoia, you could do a few things:
Open up Google Play Store. Go to My Apps. If, indeed, you're only installed apps from the Play Store, then they will be listed there. One thing to note: they're listed in a bizarre order. It's not quite chronological and not alphabetical, so you'll have to really scroll through that list to find it. Also note: This lists EVERY app you've ever downloaded, not just the ones currently on your phone.
If it's essential to her that you prove your innocence (and again, from your account it sounds as though she is being WAY over-the-top about this) then perhaps she's benefit from some of the info here: How To Tell If Your Partner Is Spying On You
Again: Her behavior demonstrates a huge lack of trust in you and your relationship, and should be seen as a big bright red flag.
I think that the best solution for this problem is to forget about a smartphone and buy a phone with buttons without any google and apple stores. Or you can tell your girl that if you want to spy on her phone you must install some apps on her phone as I've read here https://celltrackingapps.com/spy-on-girlfriends-text-messages-free/. If you have so many problems that is based on such simple things, why do you live together. I think that this story must be solved right now because this psychosis will grow in the future.
Dude, I would break up with her instantly. LMAO, she will tell me which apps to install and which services to use. F that. She knows nothing about phones. I've been flashin' custom ROMs since 2014 while she used daddy's iPhones. Jesus Christ.
I imagined that I was in your situation, added a bit of spice to it xD. No offense to you and your gf.
Ditch her, fast. Jealousy only gets worse.
