No question is stupid if helps you out. You'll need to have the bootloader unlocked unless it says RKBMIXM in your about phone section. EEA is RKBEUXM. If you're in Europe, I would stay with the EEA ROM because it seems to work better in general. Global might offer some better cellular signal in other places but it's iffy. I haven't really seen a difference in signal after switching from EEA to Global (I'm in the U.S). If you want to install it after unlocking the bootloader, then you should wait until c.mi.com uploads it on their site since it will be in a better format for it.

Yes. You will get OTA updates. Banking apps work on mine just fine which is on global, unlocked, and has magisk. According to this, all 5G bands in the UK are supported. Widevine L1 is working on mine still after clean flashing Global.
This ROM isn't meant to flash from a different variant since it's an OTA. If you want flash the global ROM, follow these steps:
Unlock bootloader with Xiaomi MiUnlock tool (you'll have to wait 168hours)
Download the ROM you want from here
Then follow this guide (skip step 2 in this guide since you've already downloaded the ROM you wanted)

Magisk is a systemless root method. Usually root will trip bank apps but you can hide Magisk and keep SafetyNet intact (this is what tell banking apps, etc if the device is modified or not). It's not necessary to have. I just figured you were planning on it since you asked about banking apps.

Would I need Magisk if flashing stock rom to have access to banking apps ? it leaves root open ? I would just prefer to the phone to act like stock and get OTA updates
Thanks

No. You don't need it at all. Just an unlocked bootloader and the rom you're flashing is all.

unused ram is wasted ram
it's not like on windows or something
it's basically good if there is not too much free ram

I ordered mine from GizTop, didn't have to pay any customs but it took forever to get here even when I paid for expedited. So it ended up arriving a couple days before the Pro/Ultra/11i were announced. Also came with an EU charger since that's the factory one, so I had to order a GaN charger for it. It wasn't the best experience but now I have two black/green ported 65w GaN blocks for it and a pretty neat magnetic cable. I spend around $38 for the first one, though. The second one I snagged for a cool $15

I've honestly never really thought about ram consumption except for when it's causing slowdowns. I'll start keeping this in mind

Yeah, kind of killed my excitement by the time it got here. Planning to get the Ultra soon too because I'm a sucker for that camera bump on the back. Hopefully it won't take so long to get here but there really isn't many good options to get it here quick at a fair price

I dont use camera much so not the main thing for me also like how Xiaomi give you that option and still not taking away the rest of the spec , for example look at the s21 they also take away the screen size
So preparing with the files and looking at the guide
Decompress the MIUI ROM flashing tool downloaded in Step 1, and double click on it to install
The MiFlash2020-3-14-0 doesnt install can only decompress the files can you just select XiaoMiFlash.exe in folder to open it
The Rom file from the link you provided
miui_VENUSEEAGlobal_V12.0.13.0.RKBEUXM_27c451d5b7_11.0.zip
On the guide it says
(Please check if the ROM file suffix is '.tgz'. If it is '.gz', please rename it to '.tgz')
When I decompress the zip and try selecting it in MiFlash it says Couldnt Find flash script
Can I just download venus_eea_global_images_V12.0.13.0.RKBEUXM_20210402.0000.00_11.0_eea_4c0dda6f7f.tgz
Its in the guide
Also I make sure clean all and lock isnt selected
I just want stock EU ROM I just flash once and future updates done by OTA
Thanks

Yeah, that seems to be my bad. Download the one from the flashing guide in tgz for it. I didn't think about the ones in the Rom Downloads sections being in a different format.
By the way, you might have noticed this ROM is MIUI 12 and not the 12.5. So you will have an update soon after flashing but probably not instantly. When I flashed Global, it took a little for Updater to catch up. So don't worry if it doesn't show any updates when you first try.

So it appears I downloaded two after the first portable. MiFlash 20181115 which seems to also be portable with more option and MiFlash v7.4.25 which installed on Windows. I would trying the newer first to see if it works correctly for you, then the second as a fallback. You can just click on XiaoMiFlash.exe in first one's folder.

**update** You can't have lock on if you're on a China variant and using a ROM other than the China Official! It will result in brick since it doesn't support any other rom being locked on it!

Yes you can keep it on "Clean all and lock." It will lock the bootloader back after flashing. It also gives you an error at the end if you just have "clean all" selected (something like lock script not initialized or something) which isn't something to be concerned about. It's also possible to wait and lock it with "fastboot oem lock" command, instead.

No problem I don't mind not having latest update right away I can just wait for OTA just like I would if bought EU version
I was watching YouTube step by step on flashing and he mentioned not to select Clean all and lock it will brick the phone ?
Does it matter if I leave it open it won't effect banking apps ?
Thanks

will an unlocked bootloader cause updates to fail? any help would be appreciated.

Hi All,
I hope I am asking in the right area and forgive me if I havent.
I have a Mi Mix 128gb running Niui Global 8.0 Stable 8.0.7.0.0 MAHCNDI which I believe is a vendor rom? I try to go into updates as I see on the MIUI website there is a version 8.0.10.0. and I would like to update to that.
-I tried the update button where it takes a few seconds saying checking and comes back with no updates available.
-I then tried the choose update package in the update app and chose the rom I moved onto the phone (not in a folder as specified) and it says getting info and then comes back 'couldnt verify update package'.
-I then tried the reboot to recovery mode and named the rom 'update.zip' as specified and all I got when I tried to enter reboot to recovery mode from the actual update app was a black screen wth a phone and a cord plugged in and a website address, no graphical selection tool where I was able to select using volume up and down etc.
I had read somewhere it could be due to the fact that when the vendor flashed the global rom they may have left the bootloader unlocked and that is why the phone isnt finding the update or running it from the file on the phone.
Does this make any sense or am I just missing everything and doing something wrong?
If it is the unlocked can I lock it again to so that I am able to update.
I did try the other thread on verifying the bootloader and how to type in the command to relock it but I wasnt able to use the ADB as I am not all together familiar on how to use it.
If anyone out there can give me a hand I would be forever grateful and I would ask that if you can help that it be as detailed as possible as I need all the help I can get
Thanks so much in advance
Dis you get your Mi Mix from a vendor who loaded Gapps for you? I think that 8.0.7.0.0 is a vendor ROM, not the CN Stable or EU Stable ROM.
I suggest you find the ROM guideline thread here and update to the CN or EU Stable ROM
Best
J
It is definitely a vendor rom. To begin with, this phone has no Official Global rom yet. It states it is a global rom but in the Rom name it contains the letter CN, which identifies the rom as the chinese rom. Therefor yes, it is a vendor rom.
I don't have the phone yet so take my advice with a grain of salt, but i'm pretty sure that an unlocked bootloader does not interfere with installing roms/getting ota updates etc. Sorry, with an unlocked bootloader you can't get OTA updates. But you've got a vendor rom so you wouldn't be able to get one in the first place even with a locked bootloader.
I think that if your bootloader is really unlocked, the fastest and easiest way to flash the newest rom would be by using the MiFlash program from Xiaomi. Here's a guide for that:
http://en.miui.com/thread-307744-1-1.html
(Method 3, Step 2)
Let me know if you managed to flash it.

If by "google movies" you're referring to movies downloaded from google play, then make sure you disable download manager in the Miui appstore settings. It connects to a chinese proxy and therefor is buggy and really slow.
Thanks to everyone on this forum as I now have a EU rom running on my mix and everything is working. Just follow the directions here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-mix/development/recovery-official-twrp-xiaomi-mi-mix-t3498960
And you shouldn't have any issues.
Did your phone come with the Global 8.0 Stable 8.0.7.0.0 MAHCNDI s that is what mine started with and the only issue was that I had to use the ADL mode to get the phone to recognize and take the TWRP so I could get the EU rom working. Been using it for a few days now and no issues whatsoever. Good luck!

(Guide) How to dump your ROM Without PC

Hi guys, as We know, BS3 don't have stable global rom yet for chinese version. If have some good soul here, please follow this tutorial and upload your global rom stable for communnity.
The step is very easy, fallow this guide to unlock and flash twrp: https://forum.xda-developers.com/bl...ckshark-3-3-pro-3s-unlock-bootloader-t4141537
After unlock and flash twrp, make sure to logout your Mi Account.
Go to TWRP> backup > select all box (don't select data user and EFS) wait the proccess finish. After finish, go to PC plug the device, copy your twrp folder to your pc, compact it with winrar and upload it. Share with us.
With this way we can get legit global rom for BS3 (normal version).

Maybe no one will do because they could be afraid of getting bricked or afraid of not receiving ota updates anymore. If only bs team will share it (and not sell), we won't have this problem. Now I hope they fail spectacularly on the next update or in JoyUI12 so they wont have a choice but to release full rom over ota. Imagine that.
the method is very easy ;-; , sad
I would love to dump my rom, but the thing is, this TWRP recovery won't guarantee the safety of my device. I just bought this and I check the link and the files that were put in there, I'm not sure if I should risk flashing a modified TWRP created by an unknown dev, I also would not risk flashing a Chinese TWRP recovery not knowing the compatibility of Global devices to CN ones. You're right, it is easy as point click and type commands, but the risk is high also and bricking the phone is too easy too. I hope Blackshark really opens up on devs like what Asus is doing on their ROG3. This would make their device a lot more famous, allowing developers collaborate with each other. If I can't figure out a safe way to root and install custom recovery at least in the next few months, I might sell this device, too bad this has serious hardware that can rival flagships but, it's a deal breaker for us not to have custom recovery backups and rooting too. Ecosystem is too restrictive. I dunno what these chinese folks were thinking when they made this device.

hi bro
do we have a good news here?

Question (Solved) Does it make any difference if I install the Xiaomi.EU ROM via fastboot now or wait for TWRP?

Hello!
I'm going to install the Xiaomi.EU ROM soon, due to the possibility of losing access to Google services (see the other thread in this forum regarding Google services for more info).
Now, I originally wanted to wait for TWRP, but now, I want to do it ASAP instead. Does it make any functional difference whether I install it with fastboot commands or via TWRP?
Oh, and I've once read something about someone losing some per-phone unique key or something due to flashing a custom ROM, causing some functionality to be degraded. Are there any such issues with the Mi 11?
Thanks!

Yes, flash by fastboot. I don't know which function to lose that you've heard of. I can only tell you that everything works. Full Google support, including Google Pay, Widevine L1 is available. So there is no reason not to flash xiaomi.eu

I know very little about the history of the Xiaomi.EU ROM. Is it just a group of Mi enthusiasts that support it? Can one say that this ROM is much better than the Global ROMs that eventually get released by Xiaomi?
Also, since your device has to be unlocked to flash it, do you still get OTA updates like security patches? Sorry for all the newb questions.

Yes that's correct. More optimised and usually more features than global.
You'll still get OTA updates but you'll need to use fastboot for it.

Ok thanks for the info. I'm slowly educating myself because I thought I would be happy with the CN ROM but the writing might be on the wall for supporting Google services. I already had small issues with Google services not being fully supported (still don't see Nearby Share on what is supposed to be Android 11) but they weren't dealbreakers.
Now Xiaomi.EU is starting to look more attractive.
So if I move to Xiaomi.EU, I would have to apply any OTA security patches myself with fastboot?

Yeah you'll need to flash them with fastboot until there's a twrp. You usually get an update every Friday.
Xiaomi.EU is definitely the way to go for Chinese ROM users

Thanks again.
Would I still have MIUI as a skin or does the Xiaomi.EU ROM come with a different UI?
Also, I've read it takes a week to unlock the bootloader. If I unlock it but choose to eventually not use Xiaomi.EU can I revert back to the CN ROM or a Global ROM? I guess what I'm asking is does unlocking the bootloader change my phone permanently in some way?

It's the same skin just with all the Chinese crap removed and Google integrated into the system with a few extra features.
If you unlock the bootloader you can install any ROM you want so chinese, EU, global, GSI, and custom ROMs etc when they arrive.
Just be careful that if you decide to relock the bootloader you must be back on the ROM that came with the phone so a Chinese ROM otherwise you'll brick the phone.

Question Official MUII 12.5 Global. Any link and tutorial to flash CN versions?

Hi! I buyed a CN version of Mi 11. Is there any link with the official Global rom for Mi 11 that was rleased today ? Any tutorial?
Thanks!
As far as I know, the Mi 11 Global version won't be available before February 25th (at least here in Europe), so I doubt the global ROM is available yet. Most people recommend the xiaomi.eu ROM over the global ROM because it has some extra features and so on.
I recommend you use Xiaomi.eu's ROM, there's a thread explaining how to do it here. Also, don't forget to unlock your bootloader - you need to wait 7 days before it can be unlocked, so if you start the process today, you'll be able to flash custom ROMs in a week.

Installation ok for me. Like u i was on xiaomi.eu lastest. there is a smalll error : This error is caused because the tool verifies if the device’s bootloader has been locked or not. Since you used the ‘clean all’ or ‘save user data’ option, the bootloader is not locked and the error is shown. This is a problem with the tool itself and is nothing to be worried about since the verification takes place after the flash is fully complete.

You don't mind if I abuse you since you the first known to successfully flash the global rom?
Therefore, my bunch of questions are:
1. Did you use the fastboot version of rom (unzipped tgz)?
2. You did dirty flash form eu rom or did you clear data before flash?
3. You don't have any modem issue, all mobile bands and both wifi (2.4 and 5)?
4. Like first impression: do you still experience massive battery consumption?
5. What are major differences between eu and global?
6. Is the rom smooth and responsive or you experience any malfunctions so far?
7. Google Pay works? If you don't use it, could you be so kind and install safety net tester and report the results?
8. Could you still use phone calls recorder?
Thank you for your patient and contribution.
Yes of course
1. fastboot version
2.Form xiaomi.eu rebooting in faastboot mod and flashing fastboot version with mi flash with clean all option.
3. No mobile or wifi issues
4. all gms are installed ( google phone dialer and sms )
Sorry bro fresh installation i cant say more im at work

I don't want to install the xiaomi.eu because of the OTA updates and more. I want to flash the official global version of miui.
For this official global rom I still need to unlock the bootloader or can I flash over the chinese version? Sorry for the nob question. I'm new to Xiaomi phones.

hello I have my mi 11 on the global rom for 1 week
I flashed my phone with the fastboot rom (adb) and everything went well (if the phone restarts in fastboot mode, force the boot in recovery mode and does a data factory reset whip)
google pay works fine for me
my phone works without problem (no slowdown, no problem with the wifi connection on the phone, all Google services work perfectly)
after the rest has already been said

Question Safe to downgrade to V12.0.15.0.RKFMIXM (Global) (From 12.5.1)?

Hello there!
I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro, and yesterday I made the grave mistake of hitting that "update" button. What used to be a close to perfect smartphone turned into a pile of trash with about 10 GREAT functions REMOVED. Instead they added 10 new phone-destroying functions which make this phone close to unusable for me at the moment.
That being said, I obviosuly want to downgrade my phone to the version it came with apparently is V12.0.15.0.RKFMIXM (Global). Is it safe to downgrade to this version from the version I'm on now 12.5.1? Even if it's not safe, could you please tell me how likely it is that my phone ends up bricked?
Thanks! I hope this works!
If you have updated it using Official Updater app, then there is a high risk of bricking your phone. It depends on ARB index.
Try flashing Fastboot ROM using Mi Flash tool. If it's not safe to downgrade, Mi Flash will prevent you from flashing it.
Yes, I used the official updater app in settings.
OK so you're there's a chance? Because this 12.5.1 version is complete and utter ****. I REALLY want to downgrade. Please help me out here, this version is SO BAD that I have to buy a new phone if the downgrade doesn't work.
In order to use Mi Flash tool, your bootloader has to be unlocked. If you are not familiar with these process, I suggest you to follow this method instead.

I'm stuck on this crappy 12.5.1 as well but I don't want to unlock anything or wait for the update... So my question is can I use the Mi Tool without unlocking the bootloader?

I have not, because I have not received the update on my device yet. However I don't expect them to fix these god-awful "updates" in the next update, hence I'd rather just downgrade, which I'll probably try to do tomorrow. 12.0.15.0 was absolutely perfect (the version it came with) and I KNEW I shouldn't have updated ((

I have another Xiaomi I don't care about which ALSO has the horrible 12.5.1. Since I don't care about this device I'll try downgrading it tomorrow, and if it works I'll do it again with my Redmi Note 10 Pro
I'm really curious about those features you said they remove and why miui 12.5 is so bad, I was just about to update!
Hi! I would also like to know what is wrong with 12.5.1 on the redmi note 10 pro. Mine has 12.0.6 (Russian version I think), and I'm trying my best to figure out how to update it to 12.5.1, but I've read many comments saying it is trash.
Can you tell me your biggest complains? What I don't like about my current version is the 10 seconds always on display, and not being able to select an icon pack for the system launcher. Do you have those features on 12.5.1?
My friend, the uptade to 12.5 did not ad or remove any aplications or funtions.
My be you collect them from any place.

No, installing a Fastboot ROM requires your device to have an unlocked bootloader.

DON'T update! Here's a list of the worst ones:
1) They REMOVED the progress bar from the media players on the lock screen, so now you CAN'T scroll through music and audio directly from the lock screen.
2) The screen automatically shuts off after 5 seconds after receiving a notification and there's NO WAY to increase it, making it impossible to read more than 1 notification.
3) When swiping/deleting the last notification the notification screen automatically closes REGARDLESS if you had a media player or something else you wanted to check out, so now they're forcing you to open it up again every time you close the last notification.
4) The notification screen now has a non-removable "No notifications" text, as if I needed someone to TELL me that. Completely unnecessary and ugly as crap.
Note that these are NOT bugs, but features, so if you update you're never getting these features back.
I use a smartphone when I work and this crap only makes things harder for me! Downgrading today!
EDIT: These are ONLY my main issues, the whole update is super buggy and laggy ALL AROUND, so be prepared to add aother 100 bugs and glitches to that list!
Are you sure that you had that options before, at last 2 one impossible....

I downloaded the fastboot load because it's easier to install. Great news, I downgraded my Redmi Note 7 without issue and it's working flawlessly! Then I tried unlocking my Note 10 Pro, but it's telling me to wait 168 hours. Can I use it during that time? Because I kind of need to.
