[Help] Nokia 2.3 (TA-1206) need for nvdata and nvram partition - Nokia 2.1 Questions & Answers

Hi.
I ask for help, as I have IMEI cleared. I tried to reflash the phone, but IMEI is still gone. I noticed there aren't images of NVDATA and NVRAM partitions on any of firmware available online.
Also, wt_custom can't be flashed because of verified boot, haven't noticed any problems caused by it, just saying it if it's important. Raw data of this partition says it has carrier configuration files.
Can it be created by myself? SN Write Tool either doesn't work or I don't know how to use it. Other tool says something about authentication.
I don't know if it's appropriate for this forum, please delete it in case of.

Did you solve that? I have the same problem.

I need the boot partition does anyone has it?

[Q] (i9000)Deleted efs folder without backup!! Possible to restore?

Unlike other cases posted previously...
All files in efs were deleted, including all hidden .bak files
Now, kies displayed my phone have a product code of XXXXXXXXX and a fake IMEI...
Is it possible to restore the nv_data.bin and other files??
Please help! Thanks....
I have the same problem, is there a solution for that?? Please answer!
Did you install sgs toolbox and used it's check product code function before you deleted your efs? If yes, there is still a chance. If no, there are currently no public fix available yet.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
We are on the same boat, as what francis posted. No public fix yet but pretty sure there will be.. its just a matter of time.
the same thing happened to me yesterday when i flashed Cyanogenmod 7, got fake imei but everything worked just fine (call, data, market).
today i deleted everything from efs folder using Root Explorer then installed i9000XWJS5 then, surprise, i got my original imei back.
do not know how and do not know if it will work on you but it worth a try
The same thing happened to me.
If I dial *#06# no imei appears.
In order to use the phone everytime I boot up I have to give r/w permission to system folder. Otherwise it doesn't recognize the sim card.
It seems to me that that the device is not anymore able to recognize itself.
If I try to install CM or other AOSP rom I have status 7 error.
In Rom manager I have a window where I should select wich kind of device it is.
In fastweb installer there is a list of devices and I have to choose wich of them I am using.
I know that there is nothing to do with warranty. But is it possible to go back to a stage where it is possible to install AOSP rom?
Thanks
don't know it may work or not, but some custom roms make a backup of the efs folder on sdcard under /sdcard/backup/efs or /sdcard/backup/efs-XXX
(XXX= some numbers). you can try to restore it from there.
again don't know for sure...

Thanks.
I have checked, but there is no backup.
I know the only one to blame it's me.
Do you think that there is anyway to make possible installing AOSP rom?

(Q) efs

Hello, my galaxy S is running on generic imei. Currently i am on darkyrom
1. I have efs folder backup, everytime i boot my phone i have to copy that backuped efs folder to the phones folder, and when i do this i get network signals. Once i reboot the phone i have to do all that again. Any solution to get away with doing it everytime?
2. If i get a efs folder of a working imei phone, can i use that to fix mine imei?
3. While flashing few roms, i get this error in cwm
Assert failed 'is_mounted' (efs) .
Why is that?
if you try to flash another NV_data on your SGS you will end up with either No IMEI number or The generic one 004999 bla bla
To get your original back you need to restore the contents of the backed up efs to the efs on the phone.
If that fails, you will need to flash back to an older firmware, froyo worked for me, Some people say eclair. But try and see for yourself.
I have tried to change the IMEI many many times, it just resulted in the generic one. I cant find any help regarding it as it is illegal and no one will comment.
I did try all the methods but failed. Now question is that does having generic imei affect while installing roms? And why do i need to copy paste the efs folder everytime i boot the device :-\
Oh no you shouldnt need to do this on every boot, something is wrong there. Maybe the backup efs is also corrupt.
The generic IMEI can cause apps to not work properly, Market apps to not download, and signal / call / sms issues.
I have generic IMEI on one of my SGS's and its been fine for weeks.
Delete the current nv_data.bin / nv_data.bin.md5 / nv_data.bak and then reboot.

Where and how to put known IMEI in S1 i9000? efs file corrupt, MTK doesn't work 4me

workaround found - downgrade to stock Froy 2.2.1 - IMEI back - still no idea how to use backed up efs file(s)
(c&p or s.th. else)
Still open: where to download and which version of TWRP for stock? did not find any:cyclops:
Btw.: it is my own smartphone (o-bill) and should be not a solution of all those telling stories of the mobile of a friend of a friend
It took me hours to find the wright files and I had 5x soft bricks with boot loops...
BETTER would have been a solution how to reinstall efs (write protected) if you don't have TWRP or if you copied efs file obviously wrong like me (just c&p to desktop); edit single file(s) or rename or what ever

Hi forum,
I'm hesitated: IMEI was replaced
Backed up my efs file and installed really good roms (Omni 5.1.1., Lineage OS 11 (=4.4.4), CM12, and others)
Then I tried to exchange the small 512 MB RAM with a 32GB micro SD. Card was actually recognized as a 8GB one.
So I took it away to use it somewhere else and formatted it therefore.
Since then my IMEI has been replaced with the general one for developers - however, I need my S1 back fully.
This is the assumed root cause - maybe also it just happens sometimes if triying different roms...
Back to the facts:
I do know my IMEI
I have 5 copies of the efs file since 2013
when tried to restore from backup TWRP did do but showed failure with the efs file
Tried mobileuncle and others - failed because MTK engineer mode cannot be used (not supporten cause of other chip maybe) AND therefor
this quick win actions via dialer (#*#....) also do not work for me
root rights? Yes
SU? YES
Hex editor? YES
Must I really go back to stock (Froyo) with Odin and this stuff I forgot how to deal with it?
Or does anybody here has a proper solution how to fix this IMEI-RE-ENTRY-issue that is not too much time consuming and save? I searched for hours here and in other forums as well as in the internet...
I appreciate smart solutions and thank you all in advance

If those two partitions contain the IMEI, they cannot be offered as applying them to your device would in effect be cloning the IMEI, something which is illegal here in the US and most everywhere else to boot.
I'm afraid you're looking at having the device serviced, if your backup doesn't work.
There is surprisingly little info about these two partitions on the net. It seems that they only exist on the N6. If I find some time, I'll see if I can figure something out.

[Help] Corrupt EFS, I don't have a QCN backup.

I bought a used mix which has no wifi functionality due to what seems to be a corrupt EFS. The mac address is 02:00:00:00:00, however the IMEI is correct and is the same one on the box.
I've flashed it with the official rom, but the mac address is still empty. I've been able to get the QCN file off the phone but I do not have a non-corrupt version to restore to.
Can someone be kind enough to send me their QCN without their IMEI? Would very much appreciate it. I have the 6GB ram 256GB version of the phone.

Hi , here a qcn file, the lines 0x1E700 / 0x02530 with IMEI has been replaced by 088A AAAA AAAA AAAA AA,
use the IMEI converter and put your own IMEI with the HEXeditor.
Thanks alexlovar! I was able to restore the qcn using your file.
Unfortunately, the mac address is still 02:00:00:00:00:00. I'm starting to think something hardware related is wrong with this phone. Really sucks to be burned buying a used phone.

hi, what ROM you have installed?, in my mix only work the original MIUI global version, i don't know if the mac address is include with the qcn file but i don't believe this, because this manage only the modemst1 and modemst2 partitions.
i see something on goolge search: https://appuals.com/fix-020000-mac-address-android-custom-roms/

I tried multiple roms from the latest global version, china stable, china dev, and some custom roms. They all result in the same problem. I'm not sure if the qcn contains the mac address for the mix, but from what I read the mac address is contained in the qcn for other xiaomi phones.
I also haven't been able to purposely clear the IMEI. I've tried using the adb commands and also the command through the dialer. Granted, those guides were for other xiaomi phones. I figure it would be a good idea to clear the efs before restoring the qcn you sent, but the IMEI never clears.

in my case, the commands :
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/sdf3
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/sdf5
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/sde28
doesn't work (for me), i must delete the modemst1 /modemst2 /fsg partition manually, using root explorer. (Rom MIUI 8.5. rooted) reboot and verify that the IMEI is cleared, if not, delete manually again, reboot and then restore the qcn backup file with Qfil_QPST.2.7.430 . look http://www.androidbrick.com/ultimate-guide-qualcomm-snapdragon-imei-baseband-repair-fix-part-2/
i hope this helps!
