Question Mi 11 ultra - xiaomi.eu or global rom? - Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra

Hi, I have a 11 ultra Chinese version, after waiting 7 days to unlock and all of bugging twrp installation, I finished to put stable xiaomi.eu Rom on it. But somehow I find that eu rom now have a lot of small bugs.
Don't know that should keep it or go to global rom?

Xiaomi EU is overstimated, it may be good for west people who wants a debloated and translated china rom with Google services, but Global Rom is much better and also is faster

i will give eu a last try after an fresh installation ...

I didn't try myself the China ROM but I read it is more performing than the Xiaomi EU as well as Global and EEA stock ROMs

When I got my Mi 11 Ultra I started the process to unlock it right away since it uses the Chinese rom. However, by the time it was ready to be unlocked I decided it wasn't worth the hassle. The Chinese rom with the Google playstore installed does everything I need it to do. I don't really see any reason to change to the global or eu rom so far.

The Global Indian (IN) ROM is smaller in size as compared to the Global (IM) ROM and they are pretty much identical.
The IN ROM though has the Red Dot notification light displayed in the Rear Display when there is any notification.

Edit:
So this option is available in the Global MI Rom but you may also have to enable another setting which might not be 'enabled' by default.
Notification Access > Rear Display > Allow Notification Access
A regular notification option is available but it is pretty limited. I think it is for Spotify integration (music control) and Answering the Phone.

Quite content with the Global MI ROM

By IN ROM you mean Indian? Because the standard Global is easily rootable

Chinese rom is the best one. 120Hz everywhere.
Latest patches latest updates but no Ok google and no android auto. (At least in old versions of software)
I didn’t like global rom because many apps including YouTube is not working at 120hz.

Obviously China ROM is more updated and more refined,

1. MiUi dialler & Contacts - Didn't like it. Prefer Google
2. MiUi power down screen - Didn't like it. Still prefer Global ROM screen.
3. Google Assistant didn't work from lockscreen. It has to be running in the background for it to work from lockscreen (fingerprint protected)
The CN ROM does have some extra neat animations (like Battery Charging animations) which I would look to have. But I can do without it.
In Global MI ROM, Google Assistant is a system app I guess. So it's in the background by default? It works well from lockscreen.
Red dot notification in rear display works on Global MI ROM but doesn't work on the CN ROM. The Xiaomi.eu's (CN) ROM.

I would love to test video. I don't quite know how to check the Hz. Honestly I haven't tested my phone yet.
How do you check how many Hz when watching YouTube?

IN as in Indian yes
IN ROM latest fastboot ROM is v12.0.2.0 and then OTA update to v12.5.2.0.
I didn't know if I would lose root so I thought Global MI ROM is better. Lot more fastboot ROM releases and perhaps some added features looking at the version number and size of the MI fastboot Rom.

Mi 9 miui eu vs miui global vs RevOS

Hi! i am very new to the xiaomi community. i have just bought a pre-owned xiaomi mi 9.
it was shipped to me via POST mail, when i opened the phone it is a xiaomi mi 9 chinese version. :crying:
i want to flash a new rom on it, and currently i am torn between the three roms.
i just want to know your opinions on these three roms in all aspects (battery life, performance, gaming etc...)
1. miui eu
2. global rom
3. RevOS
***i have seen the miui eu vs RevOS (here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/Mi-9/help/revolution-os-vs-xiaomi-eu-one-recommend-t3934804) but i want to know how they are versus each other and the global rom.
how are the updates on these roms (miui eu, miui global, and revos) delivered? do i need to reflash every time? or i can just update just like a regular stock miui chinese rom? (a.k.a. by going to the settings and clicking the update button there and rebooting)
thank you. :angel::angel:

Hello. xiaomi.eu rom is based on the beta or stable rom of china. she's stable for everyday use. it benefits from news before the global. the beta rom is translated into several languages and updated every Friday. I use it now and I prefer it overall, it is much smoother. on the other hand it is necessary the bootloader to unlock.

that is for when i am flashing the rom newly,
i am asking about when i update.
I was on global rom and battery was very bad, but beem a week on revos its very clean amd good battery.
I recommend RevOs.
I have the Global EU (NOT xiaomi.eu) and i have good battery life (over night max battery drain of 5%), its buttery smooth and no bugs. Its official by Xiaomi but i heard updates are not as frequent as the China Global. Also since Global EU is stock you can just flash that over without unlocking bootloader if i am correct. The XiaoMiTool V2 somewhere here in the forum could be helpful for you if you want to stay stock and dont want to unlock your bootloader.
Edit: Also the Global EU has Widevine L1 which you need for Netflix HD. Dont know if the pther ROMs have that.

I don't have any ads then. Seems the Global EU doesn't have all this Chinese preloaded apps. It has some xiaomi apps which can't be deleted, but otherwise I never had any problems. I was thinking of getting the xiaomi.eu so I can have notifications visible all the time and not just when they are incoming but that's all. I guess soon xiaomi will release an update for the global eu which will add this functionality back. Honestly this Rom is already so much superior than any other Phone I used and I think I can wait a couple of months for updates instead of having to deal with bugs and updates every two weeks with the xiaomi.eu

Question Can anyone share their experiences of Xiaomi.eu ROM vs Global ROM?

I own the Mi 11 with CN ROM and have been using it in North America. I'm thinking of flashing a different ROM to see if it will be a better experience. Has anyone in my situation flashed both the Global ROM and Xiaomi.eu ROM and can give an opinion on which is better overall? I'd be interested in things like speed, battery life, Play services compatability etc.
Thanks in advance!
It basically boils down to privacy vs latest updates.
Xiaomi will phone home as much as you let it, I think the EU rom is supposed to fix that but updates take a little longer.

Global is different to the Xiaomi EU one but many wrongly call the EU one global.
Xiaomi EU is based on the Chinese ROM.
Global is for outside China and has less features than Chinese and Xiaomi EU ROM.

I knew that the Global ROM (developed by Xiaomi) is meant for phones outside of China. I also understood that the Xiaomi.eu ROM is created by developers and is different (but based on) the Chinese stock ROM that shipped with the phone. I think you confused me by saying the "Chinese EU ROM" instead of "Xiaomi.eu" ROM which is what I usually see people say.
What I don't like about the Chinese stock ROM for Chinese users is that it doesn't seem to fully support all Google services and the implementation of Android 11 isn't complete (for example I don't see the Nearby Share feature).
What features does the Global ROM (created by Xiaomi for international users) lack that the Chinese ROM has? I think that as long as the Global ROM supports Google services fully I would be happy with it. If not then I guess I would flash the Xiaomi.eu ROM but it would be annoying to have to apply all updates manually.

Can't actually remember most of them but there was a few. A lot of the AI options like app pre loading etc
Xiaomi also confirmed the global Miui 12.5 update will be a "lite" version of the Chinese Miui so software will be more basic.
When I had the Mi 10 the EU version worked better than the global one with Google and notifications in general. Might of sorted that with next month's release.

Ok. Thanks for the info
I have CN ROM and had to tweak it like crazy to get rid of the China stuff and to get notifications to work. Turned off the battery saver for every app I needed notifications and enabled every option.
Now with EU ROM I didn't have to do anything like that, and have the google feed on the left. Everything is perfect with EU - well recommended.
Excuse me for jump in...I want to by Mi 11 Pro. I want Google Play, Google pay, banking aps, Netflix to work. Shell I stay on Chinese Rom or put Xiaomi.eu Rom? I am from Europe. Thanks!

I have already tried the latest stable MIUI14 from xiaomi.eu and it seemed quite alright
But I had one problem - which was rather annoying
I couldn't get my banking app to install properly. And I believe that is because the bootloader is unlocked. But my device was original CN, which I then flashed to xiaomi.eu (and locking the bootloader after that, is not recommended!)
So my question here is - if I install the Global ROM instead (which is xiaomi official, in contrary to the xiaomi.eu ROM), will I be able to lock the bootloader after flashing?

The EU ROM doesn't need to lock bootloader.
The EU ROM looks have a issue relate Google Backup.
Does anyone have the same issue?
New - Google Drive backup bug? Backup gone after reboot [updated]
[updated description below because it seems like backups dissappear after reboot] Not sure if this is from ROM or the Google Drive app. After a day or two my Google backup of my phone dissappears. Even though done successfully before and also shown in Google Drive, it dissappears after a day...
xiaomi.eu
One good reason to move to EU rom: it fixed stuff where China Rom doesn't!
For example, in China/Global ROM miui14.0.12 the AOD display will always turn itself off if it lay on a dark room for around 10 minutes. And turning off Bluetooth from android top down menu will turn off 24 hours only and not forever.
In Miui EU, this they fixed it by making it on always. Same goes to Bluetooth turning off when pressed from top drop down menu.
And many other translation jitter you can notice in China Rom if you were to restart your phone. For instance, calendar will show 1 second of Chinese before becoming english.

General Mi 11 Ultra EU 12.5.3 very happy

Hey,
So after being impressed for almost a year with the mi 10 ultra, I got myself the 11 Ultra yesterday. Bought in the Netherlands.
Immediately there was an update to 12.5.3 and installed and transfered everything.
After reading here I really thought I was gonna get the same hassle (bugs) and the need to install the EU custom ROM.
But after about 24 hours of use I noticed.
0 bugs
0 annoyances
The phone doesn't really get hot. Except maybe when I play league of legends on 120fps and 2k screen.
No notification bugs, battery seems decent. Camera amazing..
Anyone else just having a great experience? I don't think I see the need to flash the custom ROM.
I know the list of featured if the custom ROM seems long but I haven't noticed anything different from my 10 ultra custom EU rom.
hi this is how much i understand worth taking global eee rom mi 11 ultra or maybe better take mi 11pro?
I would take the mi 11 ultra over any phone.. and the global rom is pretty good
Original 12.5.3 EEA has some problems:
date on the rear display is shown as mm/dd even if the locale setting is dd/mm.
The date is correct in all the other parts of the UI (ex the lock screen)
Bluetooth smart unlock works only with Mi Bands. Doesn't work even with Mi Watch Lite and Xiaomi Handset Basic that I own.
Of course it doesn't work with any no-Xiaomi-made bluetooth devices (quite annoying indeed)
The Google dialer (the Xiaomi dialer is no longer available) has no call recording function.
Can't hide folders from the Gallery using the .nomedia file.
I got the mi 11 ultra 3 days ago and I'm on 12.0.5 . No new updates found .. even if I change my region to India for example no luck !
I'm in Germany. Any suggestions?

Love making selfies with the main camera using the little screen. Selfies look amazing like a whole different league from front facing selfies.
Also regular pictures I love how the look. So colorful.
The phone feels snappy fast and I haven't noticed any bugs. I have the feeling it works better than the custom EU rom i had on my.mi 10 ultra.
The only thing maybe is that the battery drains a bit faster but maybe it will still learn to work better and I do play a lot of league of legends wild rift at 2k so I guess it's normal

If your bootloader is unlocked, you can load the fastboot EEA (European version). Just download the Xiaomi MiFlash tool. There are plenty of YouTube videos describing the process. There is also the Xiaomi.EU rom, which is the China rom, minus the Chinese bloat and Google services added in. That is a TWRP install and that is also link on their website.
I don't recommend to install the Xiaomi eu rom as it is not optimized for mi 11 ultra, apps load slower and since it is based on chinese rom it has chinese themes (if you like ur writings in chinese go for it), battery life is more or less the same, if you need to root I still suggest unlock your bootloader, if coming from standard global, unlocking your bootloader will allow you to update to the EEA firmware which is already based on the 12.5.3

It is optimized as it virtually the same rom as the China rom, minus the bloat and Google services added in. There are features not available in the EEA rom that are in the China rom or the EU rom, such as, video recording using the rear display on 21.6.9 or the ability to record your calls, which is also not available on the EEA rom. These features are not available on the global rom either. So if you are a vlogger/content creator, the Xiaomi.eu rom is probably your best option.

Hi there,
Unlock Bootloader and go to EEA 12.5.3 or higher. 12.0.XX is a pretty basic Android 11 ROM but many people like it. EEA visually looks better and so far no issues.
I had for a moment Android 12 Beta 1 installed but has returned to 12.5.3 because camera apps was missing.

Same here on both 10 and 11 Ultra, no Chinese. Also, how is it not optimised for the 11 ultra when it is based on the stock Chinese 11 Ultra ROM? App loading time can be many of many reasons including your own apps you install from your own selection.
I have used the stock Chinese and Global ROMs on both Ultra's and my preference is for the EU custom ROM, I just think it has the best of all four available ROMs included and even as I use the weekly beta version, there has never been any show stoppers and any minor issues, as it is a beta version, get fixed quick. If you use a stable non EU version, you would have to wait for a few weeks to get it fixed and even longer with Global and EEA as their updates are packaged up in much fewer updates.
But it's everyone's own choice, but this is mine.
Guys whatsapp was loading ****ty slow, as well as tapatalk, I had 3 apps installed as personal, chinese themes lead to chinese characters, yes rom had some nice feature, but nothing I can't live without, both rom can be debloated and I find xiaomi eu full of useless stuff as well.

What's useless in Eu ROM ?
Lot of xiaomi services for example, I never understand why custom roms come with so much stuff preinstalled, they should leave just basic services and leave the user the ability to install the app and services they want. If they want to keep services and stuff they could still make different versions of the same rom

Question Which is best MIUI variant for Xiaomi 11T Pro?

Hi Guys,
As our device is still pretty fresh for any custom rom development, can someone tell how many different versions of MIUI are present for our 11T Pro and what are the differences in the same and which one of them is good as daily driver considering camera, battery backup etc.?
This will help many ppl who want to flash different version than the one they are using right now... Thanks in advance!
Cheers!
I'd say the best is to take the official ROM and then debloat it to your liking.
I flesh couple days ago XIaomi EU rom, its much beter, no debloat , also the more importent thing is that the battery is batter.. I also debloat couple thing :
5.-REMOVE BLOATWARE:
I have removed the following but it depends on each one, they could remove more.

12.5.10.0 in any versions, it's the greatest for this phone with the latest bug fixes before switching to MIUI 13.

Had been using Stock 13.0.1 INDIA ROM since purchase and noticed quite lag with that so switched yesterday to xiaomi.eu 13.0.3.
There's definitely quite a bit of Performance Improvement.
Rest it's quite early to comment on.
Global V12.5.10.0.RKDMIXM or V13.0.3.0.SKDMIXM.
All custom are based on the Global version.
But i use Xiaomi eu rom V13.0.3.0.SKDMIXM

Look out for Global 13.0.3 too. It's a tough competition currently b/w xiaomi.eu 13.0.3 & Global 13.0.3. I heard Global is more Smooth but I haven't tested for myself still.

Xiaomi Eu is a custom rom.
you are surely talking about EEA stock roms intended for Europe (RGPD).

Question Can I flash Redmi Note 11 running MIUI 13 Global RGCINXM with Indonesian RGKIDXM?

Hi all, I have recently purchased a Redmi Note 11 in India running MIUI 13 Global (RGCINXM). This ROM comes with a google dialer and I would like to revert to MI Dialer. I have flashed one of my older phones successfully with an Indonesian version to get back the MI dialer, however in that case, the ROM names were similar except for the country code (RGCxxXM for example).
I can't seem to find the exact same Indonesian ROM for my Redmi note 11 and wanted to check with the others if it would be safe to flash with the Indonesian NFC variant (RGKIDXM) to replace my current ROM (RGCINXM).
Could anyone please share their experiences?
Many Thanks.

According to the type of your rom your phone would be a redmi note 10 11 spes, models 2201117TG, 2201117TI, 2201117TL.
Could you confirm?
(characteristics/model).

Thanks for your prompt response.
The phone is a Redmi Note 11 2201117TI. Not sure why would you narrow it down to a redmi note 10. Perhaps different model names in different geographical areas?
Picture from box attached.
Many Thanks.

I wrote 10 but it's actually 11.
Don't bother with stock roms, install a Xiaomi EU rom that has the call recorder+playstore certified without root .
See here.

Thanks much. I was actually preferring to stick with stock ROM and not root the phone. If I were to stick with stock, would you or anyone recommend going for the NFC ROM from Indonesia (RGKIDXM)? I saw a couple of YouTube videos doing so, but wanted to make sure it wouldn't make things too messy.

The rom that I recommend does not require root
.
For the Indonesian rom no choice.
The bootloader must be unlocked(erase your data).
https://new.c.mi.com/global/post/101245
https://en.miui.com/unlock/index.html
then after 168 hours
Use this tool (read carefully, erase your data).
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/flash-tool-guide-use-xiaomi-flash-tool.4262425/
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Do a backup with Micloud.
With Indonesian rom you will have to lock the bootloader with Miflash otherwise the play store will not be certified, which is not the case with the Xiaomi Eu rom.

Thanks, just read carefully. Makes sense to flash with the Xiaomi EU ROM that you suggested. Just a couple of quick questions. Given that these are third party, are they secure to use?
And I read that these are based on MIUI China ROM. So hopefully there won't be any issues with Play store?
And last question, if I were to flash with the stock Indonesian ROM, can I replace the RGCxxxxx (non NFC) verison with RGKxxxxx (NFC) version?
Thanks for your help again!
