Hi there fellow A70 users!
So after playing around with my new A70, here we go with a collection of nicly working GCam versions.
With some little modifications, we can unleash some more power from the A70's camera.

Here's what you need:
This GCam mod by @Arnova8G2: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/changelog585/
The xml config file (attached): View attachment taco_Arnova8G2_v1.5_Note9Snapdragon.xml. Or download from here.
Note: For the xml config file create this folder structure in your internal sd card and copy it there: SDcard/GCam/Configs​
What to do:
1. Install the GCam mod apk
2. Import the config file this way: open the Google Camera, double click the dark area around the capture button, select the config, and then click on "restore". See screenshot below. Detailed guide here.
3. (Optional) Make these two small changes in the app settings/advanced menu: Set front camera to Nexus 6P; set the libs to Eszdman:Xtrme v3 (these are optional changes. But I can see improoved pictures with my A70.)
For those who need more:
You can find a lot of config files here. Feel free to test diffrent xml config files and let us know if you have better results with other configurations/settings.

Don't even try to think about demanding for fixes or posting in a disrespectful way.

Great one buddy!

Does it have a setting to use 32mp? I have a gcam installed with night sight but it doesn't have the 32mp option just like any other camera app. Sorry I'm just a noob with this kind of things.

the problem is that the camera api on this phone shows only 8mp back, 5.2mp front - it happens in all camera apps, except the native one
I think there is no solution for this, for now

Google pixel doesn't have a 32 mega pixel camera. So you will not see that option in a gcam mod.
However the gcam mod will still use that lense, no worries.

Yes (I mean, I think so, not sure), go to photo sphere and use the option I highlighted in the screenshot. And see the results.

If i use your config settings,why does it need 10 Seconds until the Picture is ready?
Without the config settings,it needs about 2 Seconds.

Set lens blur resolution to 12mpx and try again.

Okay so I used the first one.. One issue.. Double tappingthe black area around capture button doesn't do anything.. So I'm not able to select the xml file.. Also where is the option to select the libs?

First: where are you saving the .xml file? Show me with a screenshot.
Second: you have a screenshot in the op that shows where you can find the option for the libs (the optional step)

Is there any way to disable this message at startup?

Gcam Playground/AR

I have Gcam version 6.2.030.244457635 which I appears to work properly but when I load ARcore APK's (testing latest version) the Playground/AR sticker function appears on the Gcam "More" option but when I click it it just says ARcore needs to be updated (which it is). I have tested and loaded different versions of older ARcore which seems to load ok but no AR functionality-This phone is capable I would have imagined???? I searched the forums and Google but just get a handful of non-value added info on this.

You have a module on magisk to run ARCore on natively non-compaitable devices. Give that a try and see if that helps.

Which Gcam apk do you use? What is the developer's name and what is the apk name, and for which phone was it developed?

Arnova8G2 is the author-Gcam 6.2.030.244457635 apk from APK mirror website. (Google finds it quick) It was a shot in the dark that I tried this particular version from all the others that didn't either have complete Gcam features or just plain did not work. I am not sure which device he intended this version for, all I know is that it works on my Red Magic 3 and is better than the stock camera app in my opinion.

Does your copy have support for 12mpx for rear camera? This Sony sensor is kinda trash in dark scenes at 48mpx - it was designed with 12mpx mode in mind to combine light from 4 pixels into one for collecting 4 times more light.

Yeah 4:3 12mpx is what it was set at initially when I first opened the gcam app- works great!

Is Night Sight working as for me the shutter is greyed out.
And there is no option for 12 Megapixel.

Night sight does not capture picture it's like the appatture button does not work!

Weird, mine (and I tried several) goes 48mpx, 7.7mpx.... 12mpx is missing.

This is odd, I wish $hit would just work without jumping thru a 1000 hoops

I have a solution for you. Buy an extra phone and send it to Arnova. He'll fix it up

stock camera app in custom rom?

is there any way to have the stock camera app in the custom roms? i like using the stock cam app sometimes

This is what keeps me away from custom roms basically...
try installing miui camera app, i've seen in the magisk repository miui camera app for mi a2 and etc... give it a try and post feedback.
the next time i install a custom rom i'll try myself these options.

and it worked exactly as intended. All seems to be working including 48mp feature, even the front cam filters. Lol check this in-door night shot.

Does the 3 camera swapping work? Also is there mechanical noise when swapping between the front and back cameras on custom roms with this camera?

As stated, everything works the way it should. All camera modes are accessable and no, it doesn't make mechanical sound. I'm on PE anyway with the immensity kernel august 8 build.

Did you try video and portrait mode aswell? For me it force closes immediately when selecting portrait mode. After selecting portrait mode for the first time it force closes also when selecting video.
Did anyone try this? Whats your experience?

It can do 960fps slowmotion, unsure of 4k60fps I can only find 1080p60fps
Also trying to bump thread, after a good camera app with no force close issues is hard these days :crying:

Does anyone have a more recent experience with anx? Have the issues (force closes) been resolved? Is the quality comparable to stock on miui? Or does everyone use gcam instead?

Some minor diffenence in settings.
Not all settings work, have to try some times.

My observations so far are that Gcam images look more organic and with much less artifacts than the stock camera, jpg files are also bigger with more information and hold up to editing better than the ones from the stock camera. The port is definitely worth it and I hope M-rom keeps working on it.

I can't get regular photos to work with either apk. Video works, photos w/front camera work, but can't get rear camera to work. Any tips?

No idea, both versions work for photos for me (on one of them portrait mode doesn't start). I use both.

Can anyone post comparison photos between Gcam and original ?

Maybe you can check if you turned the "raw+jpg" on or not. I tried this before and it won't work. Turned off then rear camera worked.

No problem. Redmi Note 8 Pro have stable GCam also I have Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S and photos better than Redmi 9.

Download file.zip then extract it.you will get file.xml....
Now you can download it
