Question Type of USB-C charger cable - Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra

I want to buy a 6 feet USB-C charger cable for my phone.
Do I have to buy a 5A USB-C (which is harder to find with a USB-A connection).
Reason I ask is because the charger is a 67W charger and on the mi Store, the 67W charger is shipping with a 6A USB-A to USB-C wire.
Kindly advise.

As far as I know, the type of cable only effects the throughput that the cable is capable of. So if you use a cable other than the one they are specifying, you would still be able to use it, but it probably won't push 67 watts.

So you're implying a 3A cable should still charge the phone well but might not quick charge?

I bought some 3m corded cables usb a-c and c-c. They were only about £3.69 each with third one free. Dam good cables and run quick and super quick from my Huawei super charge and my Xiaomi 120w charger from 10 ultra. Extreme charging from cheap cables. I was shocked as I didn't think they would work as well as the supplied 10 ultra charging cable

where did you buy it you got a link from the seller

Works with mi Turbo charge 120w charger 10 ultra and Huawei super charger at full speed.

No Quick Charge 2.0/3.0 support

TurboPower charger that comes with it is the only thing that will give it a fast charge.
I have no idea how or why Quick Charge tech was left out.
Mine does indeed say "TurboPower Connected" and charges super-fast when I use the USB C Quick Charge 3.0 AUKEY Amp Type-C Dual-Port Wall Charger and the USB C Quick Charge 3.0 AUKEY Car Charger with Dual AiPower Ports. I can't seem to find it now, but I remember reading somewhere that the Moto Z does use QC 3.0, otherwise I wouldn't have bought the above products. NOTE: I am going USB-C to USB-C.
Does not use 3.0.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z-force/help/moto-z-forces-turbopower-quickcharge-t3429607
In short QC 2.0 and 3.0 don't follow usb c spec according to a top Google engineer. According to Usb c spec the vbus voltage should not exceed 5v. QC tech exceeds this by using 9v and 12v to achieve more power. Motorola built the Moto Z according to spec which allows you to ramp up the current (amps) to achieve more power which is why our stock charger outputs at 5.7amps. You don't need QC to charge fast with Usb c. Usb c with power delivery is actually better . Either way the QC chargers put out 15 watts total. Our turbo charger does 28.5 watts using 5v at 5.7 amps and is actually faster than what's out now. QC chargers use higher voltage to achieve this at 9v 1.7 amps 15 watts, a charger doing 5v 3a does the same 15 watts. So to turbo charge your phone don't use QC chargers unless it also outputs at least 5v at 3a that's the key. Anything less than 3a won't turbo charge. It needs to be a usb C to usb C cable so the charger should have a usb C port not a usb a port like most of you are trying to use. No other charger out now does more than 3amps besides the turbo charger until then use chargers that do 5v 3a. Verizon has a fast charger that supports this and all other fast charging tech.

Will these charge as fast as the stock charger out of the box? And with a USB C cable does it need to support quick charge, or do all USB C cables support quick charge as long as you have it plugged into a USB C quick charge adapter like you linked to?
Nothing charges as fast as the stock charger as far as I know.
I looked around on Amazon to try to find a spare charger with the same speed as the OEM, but there are none as far as I know. QC actually goes against usb-c standard, so whoever has a phone that supports both is technically being shorted on charge speed. I will be waiting for the verified brands (ex. Anker/Aukey) to release a legitimate charger because there have been instances where wall chargers have completely destroyed devices. For the fastest charge, you'll want usb-c cables end to end, but since usb-c is not the standard yet, I would be very careful when buying lesser-known usb-c accessories. Z owners will have to wait for the market to catch up at this point.
Total side note but I wonder if the problems Samsung is having is because of their bastardized quick charge/type setup.
I'm happy we don't have QC.

I bought the Choetech charger from amazon and it works great on my Z Force. no where near the OEM charger but still charges the phone dead to full in a little over an hour and a half. from my limited testing.

I just bought another oem charger from amazon and called it a day.

The car charger that Verizon sells turbo charges the phone, but not as quickly as the stock home charger. I don't think any charger will charge as fast as the stock home charger, since it's optimized for the phone. But the Verizon USB-C charger charges the phone plenty fast.

I can confirm this. I just got this phone on an upgrade after insisting to the Verizon sales representative that I did NOT want a Galaxy S8, that I was absolutely sure I didn't want the S8, and that I think the Z Force is a much better device than the S8. After seeing the genuine shock on his face that I slighted his phone, I bought the OtterBox case and the Verizon branded USB-C car charger with it.
The car charger definitely charges faster than my non quick charge USB-C cable, but not as fast as the stock charger. The stock charger will take me from ~5% to full in an hour. The Verizon car charger takes about an hour and twenty minutes to go from ~5% to full.
All in all, it was worth the money spent on the charger. It is definitely better than the 8 hour charge my standard USB-C usually takes.

supercharge car charger?

And 6ft usb c that supports supercharge?
I've Ankey 1 USB Quick Charge 3.0 and working fine on my MAte 10 Pro with Waze started. Mobile charging (but slower than original charger it's logical regarding Quick charge 3.0).

Is what I found on Amazon for the best price at the time. Yes the car charger does Super Charge.
You need 5A Charger and cable for the supercharge (or at least something near)
Does 2.4A work, too.? Of course with slower charging rates but using the whole 2.4A? Want to use it with a supercharge cable.

Yes. It will work, I currently use an Anker charger. It's just a bit slower than Supercharge.
Sent from my BLA-L09 using Tapatalk
Has anyone found an adaptor that allows 3.5mm jack for audio and USB C for charging that supports fast charging at all? Even 2.4a would be ok. I have found one online from flosmall that claims 2a, but I don't know if that's really enough. I regularly run Waze and listen to podcasts (downloaded) or Spotify (streaming) and the adaptor I got off eBay charges really, really slow. I also need a new car charger, so the responses in this thread have already been helpful on that front.
You can buy an original Huwaei Car Charger with SuperCharge support at http://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/qjQJqba
I am asking about a 6ft usb cable that support supercharge, I have no idea why everyone talking about Qualcomm charger, this is not a Samsung thread smh
https://www.amazon.es/Acocobuy-Carg...8&qid=1521544897&sr=8-11&keywords=cargador+5a
This one has 2.4a and Supercharge 3.0
I got myself original Huawei AP38 car charger and it came with cable in package. Works absolutely like a charm and it is well worth the money. No difference from wall charger in terms of charging speed
There are plenty usb cables that work with supercharge just look for one that supports 5A current. I have a very long one close to 2m/6ft, works very well with huawei car charger and normal charger
The thing with supercharge and the cables is that most chargin technologies require a maximum of 2 or 3A. Up to 3A is a usb standard so all usb cables support that. A higher current is usually never needed because standard usb protocols dont support it. 5A current requires a different structure of the cable. And since supercharge uses up to 5A current we need to get special cables.

Charger I think have to be a good brand, I am using Anker quick charge 3, and my Huawei mate book charger and of course xiaomi charger which came with it. My magenatic cable do not super quick charge but it still charges fast, to quick charge I have to plug USB c cable directly to my phone.

Question No turbo charge with other USB cables

The cable that comes with the 67w charger is super short so i bought 66w 3a or something cables that should support the turbo charge.
Not only it doesn't turbo charge but not even quick charge.
Anyway to bypass this Xiaomi only cables protection?

I bought a 100W USBC cable and have no issue to turbo charge with it if plugged to the Xiaomi charger.
Where I am a bit disappointed is I bought an Aukey charger and unfortunately it only fats charges but doesn't turbo charge
There is no "xiaomi cable only" or similar restrictions.
The cable you bought is just not "good enough".
You need a cable that supports at least 6A I think.
I have several cables and also cables that support Ultra Charge and are not from xiaomi.
But in fact it is so that even with these cables (Although ultra charge is displayed) is not charged as fast as with the original cable.
If you want to use the power supply with 100 percent of the possible performance I have actually only managed to do so far with the original cable ...
It's not about "Xiaomi only" cable. Power delivery is dependant on the lenght of the cable. For my old OP7T Pro the cable that came with the phone is thick as the one that Xiaomi uses. But i needed longer one and when i got it, it was thick flat cable. Looks lika SATA cable - like 2mm thick and 8mm wide. I'm thinking that if we want turbo charge with 1,5-2m cable it needs to be very high quality with the highest specs available.

You will get some degrade in voltage when you increase the cable length
The charger brick can output 67w Max and if you double or triple the length of the cable all 67w will not reach the phone
On a high quality (expensive) cable you might get most of it and on a cheap cable from the dollar store or eBay it might take several hours to fully charge because the cable might only be rated to send 5w ,10w or 18w
Other factors come into play like room temperature , how many apps are running in the background/foreground , whether or not you're connected to 5g , wifi , Bluetooth devices and whether the screen is on or off
Best results normally come from the cable that came with it and I read it's the only one that works with the mi unlock app to unlock your bootloader
Xiaomi really need to up their game on accessories.

I used my old OnePlus USB cable to unlock mine, and install new firmware, worked fine.
My OnePlus cable worked fine for USB related stuff but wouldn't charge at full speed and my LG one didn't get recognised in Fastboot.
My Oneplus 150cm dash cable displays Mi Turbo Charge / Rapid charging but doesn't count up like the original cable does when it displays Mi Turbo Charge.
My "ACAGET USB C Cable 2M, 55W 6A Charge Turbo" cable just displays quick charge / fast charging.

65W charging cable?

Hello, I bought a Oneplus 8t+5G (tmobile) used off of Ebay, so I'll need to buy the 65W fast charger myself, what I was unclear on was the cable itself. I currently use this cable, (https://a.co/fCB5o9D) the only power rating it lists is 3.1A. If I bought a 65W charging block, would this cable be sufficient to get the most out of the fast charging?
Also feel free to discuss recommendations for 65W charging cables/blocks. Thanks
If you're using an original OnePlus charger with a USB-C to USB-C cable, it doesn't really matter which one you use, it's best if it meets PD 3.0 60-100W requirements and is reasonably solid. I tested 3 different cables of this type: the original one, some unspecified BlitzWolf and BaseUs PD 60W and the WarpCharge 65W charging was identical with each one. It is different if you would like to use an Oppo or Realme charger with USB-A output - in this case only the original cable will probably charge the WarpCharge 65W.
And remember that only a OnePlus charger compatible with WarpCharge 65W (Realme Superdart or Oppo SuperVooc 2.0) will charge 65W. Third party chargers, even if they are 100W, will not comply with this charging standard.
