[NEW APP] aodNotify - Notification Light / LED for Pixel 5! - Google Pixel 5 Themes, Apps, and Mods

This app was initially developed for Samsung Galaxy devices with Always on Display. As Pixel devices also have an Always on Display i decided to port the Samsung version to Pixel devices.
You need a notification light / LED for your Pixel 5!
With aodNotify you can easily add a notification light / LED to your Pixel 5!
You can select different notification light styles and show the notification light around the camera cutout, screen edges or even simulate an notification LED dot in the statusbar of your Pixel 5 or Pixel 4a!
As the notification light is integrated in Google's Always On Display it has minimal battery consumption and doesn't drain your battery like other apps which keep your phone awake!
This app hides the fingerprint icon, so the icon can not burn in your screen! Enjoy your notification light!
MAIN FEATURES
• Notification light / LED for Pixel 5 or Pixel 4a!
• Low energy notification preview
• Activate Always On Display (AOD) only on notifications
• Charging / Low battery light / LED
MORE FEATURES
• Notification light styles (around camera, screen, LED dot)
• Custom app / contact colors
• ECO animations to save battery
• Interval mode (on/off) to save battery
• Night times to save battery

• LED & ECO ANIMATION - 1.5%
• LED & ECO ANIMATION & INTERVAL - 1.0%

DEVICES

NOTES
• The app is still in beta stage, errors may occur!!
• Google may block this app with future updates!
• Please check if the app is compatible before updating phone software!
• Altough we never experienced any screen burn in issues on our test devices, we recommend to not keep the notification light / LED active for a long time! Use at you own responsibility!

The position of the light around the camera cutout may not be accurate in this beta.
Position can be adjusted in Notification light > Size & position > fine tuning section in the app.

Will update position parameters when correct positions are found.
Looking forward to your feedback!

Sure, without active aod the screen would be completely off. Then the light will not display.
Using the aod consumes much less power than keeping the device awake without the aod. Thats why the app runs on top of the aod.

Did you not read the OP, or even look at it? It's all about how this was ported from Samsung to Pixel because the Pixel also has AOD. All the preview images show AOD.
"As the notification light is integrated in Google's Always On Display it has minimal battery consumption and doesn't drain your battery like other apps which keep your phone awake".
And then the name is quite literally aodNotify.
Reading the OP, should be step 1.

No problem, im here to help and answer questions regarding the app. Just ask whenever something is unclear.

@Jawomo you will not update the floatify application, I still use the latest version that I found compatible, for me indispensable

Hello @Jawomo I just invited you to a cafe, the application has a failure, when I lock the screen the application blinks for a few hundredths of a second which is annoying, it is like it locks the terminal and the application detects it, it appears and locks again the screen, can you try to fix that bug?

thanks for the video. The always on display may be visible shortly before when activated. Will investigate if this can be fixed.

Hi,
I buy your application and I test the use of the battery.
I see leaving the LED flash for 8 hours Ceal adjacent 20% of my battery.
I think it's a lot, is it normal ?

2,5% per hour is normal.
You can use eco effects and interval mode to reduce power consumption even further.
Setting up sleep times over night can also reduce power consumption.
And the app is not fully optimized yet on pixel devices.
What effects did you use? Was interval mode active?

I use the effect, flashing Eco and I did not activate mode interval.
I did the test that night on purpose

I can also confirm the same behavior migmeil. Doesn't bother me too much, but I appreciate any further development on the ported app. Thank you Jawomo for your time on getting this app over to us!

Otherwise contact me at Facebook/Google+/Email to get help.
Warning: If your phone speaks after install (Samsung S4, S3, S3 Mini, S2, Note1, Note2, Note3, LG Nexus 4) you have to disable Samsung TTS (text-to-speech) under settings -> apps manager -> all (on the right) and Google TTS (text-to-speech).
Only needed when you use the accessiblity service!
Another solution to fix talkback issue:
You can change the launcher by using another one from the Google Play Store. For example, Solo Launcher - Swift & Smart, Nova Launcher, Go Launcher and Holo Launcher. These launchers will not exhibit this bug.
For Samsung S4 users: If your phone speaks when opening your browser you have to use another browser like Chrome or Firefox.
Hint HTC users: Your phone is NOT supported, you have to use the on screen led!
Sony Phones: Please disable stamina mode in your device settings.
Let your led glow with different colors!
Any feedback is highly appreciated!

This should work normally. but in samsung firmware 5.0.x is a firmware bug. Just try it.

✔ Samsung 5.1.1 support added (see appsettings at the top!)
Does the LED of your Samsung device just blink blue since you updated to Android 5.1.1? Start the accessibility service (if available) AND enable the notification access (under sound and notifications or security). Furthermore you SHOULD disable the light/LED in the activated apps, do NOT disable the notification itself (e.g. in Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter, Google Inbox). With these settings LED Blinker should work as usual.

Adds a configurable Energy Ring around the camera lens indicating current Battery level. Dive into the various configuration options, not only you can quickly glance and get the battery info but, Energy Ring adds an accent to your phone's camera lens.
Got a full charge? The Ring will be a 360 degree wrap around the front camera lens.
Battery depleting? So will the arc of Energy Ring.
Out of the box features:-
✓ Energy Ring can be configured from a width of 1 pixel to a donut thick ring
✓ Energy Ring puts almost 0% load on CPU, as it wakes up only to reflect any change in battery level
✓ Energy Ring's direction can be configured as clockwise/bidirectional/anti-clockwise
✓ Energy Ring can hide on fullscreen content (apps, videos, images, games etc)
✓ Energy Ring can be configured to change colors automatically depending on the live battery level
✓ Energy Ring could have a mono color/multiple color segments/gradient (pro)
✓ You can literally assign any color in the world for your favorite configuration
✓ Energy Ring has a number of cool animations whenever a power source is plugged into your device
All that is cool! But what about Energy Ring consuming Battery?!
This is one of the most exciting question for me to answer. Energy Ring more than anything understands that you need to utilize your battery efficiently (after all, that's why you installed the App, right? .) Energy Ring sits on the screen silently putting almost 0% load on CPU, if battery level changes, Android wakes up Energy Ring. Once awake, Energy Ring quickly updates itself and goes back to sleep. And to be that extra efficient, the Ring goes on deep sleep when you turn off the screen, meaning it doesn't even read changes in battery level when the screen is off.
Accessibility Service Requirement:
Android requires Energy Ring to run as an Accessibility Service, to be able to display on Lock Screen. It does not read/monitor any data, whatsoever. This is especially useful for people who have disability to read numbers and work better with visual data.
Download now from Google Play Store! And if you like, please leave a rating.

I think you are the one who need to put glass on. Check this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-x2/themes/poco-x2-dual-punch-hole-battery-t4074021, however the app he used is quite limiting and not as feature rich as this app.
I can confirm that the app works OK in MiUI 12 as long as you don't kill the app in the recents.
It looks so cool, but if I take the screenshoot the camera place gets black, not transparent (as it should be).

I can confirm that Redmi K30 5G has 2 holes on the screen. I see this in Recovery. But in MIUI may make the black bar connecting these 2 holes.

Hello, thanks for your work.
Few (minor-ish) issues I've found:
•Gesture Navigation seem to be missing the right/left swipe gestures to go back, and HW keys work even when 3-button navigation is not selected. Gesture Navigation shows the settings for adjusting the Gesture Pill Bar length, and also left/right edge sensitivity, but the pill bar never seems to appear.
•Screenshot overlay (the one that appears after taking a screenshot, allowing you to edit/share) doesn't have a delete button, although I'm not sure if this is an issue or a feature.
•Also a few performance issues on my end: I thought it was the blur compositing tanking my phone's performance, but disabling blur in Developer Options (Under Hardware Accelerated Rendering --> Enable blurs: disabled) didn't seem to make a difference. This might just be in my head, but, any suggestions for improving performance?
The performance issues aren't extreme, just slightly off-putting.
Absolutely loving the style and aesthetics of the ROM, thanks again.
How can ROM have pre-installed GApps but no Camera app? Not even stock one?
Also atleast for Vodafone India, you need to configure the APN first to use mobile data.
Other than these problems, I like the overall look & feel of the ROM. I don't use gesture navigation so that's not really a big prb for me.
Would love to have advanced restart options in power menu if possible as like most MiA1 devices, power & volume buttons are pretty much hopeless for my device as well

Hello, I have been using the app for a few hours and I noticied that there is something that is not working correctly. I choosed the option to not show when full screen app, but it stills shows the ring.
Also, would be nice to have the option to modify the initial settings.

Hello, it doesn't work for the S21 ultra Exynos (SM-998B) on Android 12. When enabling the accessibility service, I got an instant notification that the device isn't supported.
Is this related to the model number not being supported, or just Android 12?
Thanks !

adb shell settings put secure enabled_accessibility_services you.in.spark.energy.ring.gen
Now, in accessibility, *sometimes* it did show that it was enabled for Energy Ring, but the app kept asking for it...
Thanks for the help

Battery icon and battery percentage are two different icons maxq1.
ah yes. sorry. was previously using just the batt percentage without the icon . you can use the goodluck module quickstar for that. if you're rooted though, there's probably a magisk
Update: Fixed the issue of System turning off Accessibility Service of Energy Ring frequently, it was a Android System Level bug, a workaround has been deployed successfully, let me know if Energy Ring is stable again for you! P.S. I am flooded with emails and messages, apologies if I couldn't reply all!
aod Notify is my preferred app but I might give this a go

For the most part it is fine but this is right after being idle for 30 min and it stays like this all day long and I think it is killing my battery because I can't even make it a full day any more

you could put some apps to sleep on the settings if Pixels have this option. Also, not used ram is wasted ram

I guess but it never did this before
You should utilize the apps that help find what's going on.
I always keep gsam battery monitor pro.
But for some more info betterbatterystays is a good way to start.
If you're not getting good battery then something is up. Probably a rouge app running in the background.
I'll download that app and check my ram.
What rom are you on/rooted/models installed.
More information you provide the faster you'll get help.
I'm personally on A11 crDroid v7.13
And I get on average 1 hour SOT/10% battery.
I do usually only run the device from 30-80%
I try to stay between this in hopes to preserve battery. Considering the ridiculous price Google got out of us.
My back camera lens is cracked and I'm honestly considering a pixel 4a.. I don't 5g anyway.
Edit: so here is where I'm at ATM
@andybones I did state at the bottom of my first post that I'm on Stock A12 and Cleanslate Kernel but I didn't mention that I am currently rooted and I have AccA module installed and set to charge to 80% I have the GoogleDialerMod module, Universal Safety Net Fix module, BusyBox module and More Live Pixel Wallpapers by Typhus_ I've used the paid version of those apps that you mentioned but I usually don't find anything all though I haven't since this started.

How well does that zz naptime app work and I know people always ask what features are available on crDroid but what I was wondering is what is missing from crDroid that stock android offers?

I believe it does. I have it set to doze immediately. and my texts don't suffer from coming in. and things like gmail work fine as long as turning off battery optimization.
so for me it's beneficial.
It's probably close to what Proton ROM is missing:
here is text from protons site to help me out:
"Not all Pixel-exclusive features are supported due to their proprietary nature. The following features are supported (depending on your device generation, like on the stock OS):
Active Edge - not on Pixel 5
Adaptive connectivity - yes
Adaptive Sound - yes with magisk module
App suggestions - yes
Assistant quick phrases - not sure but should
Auto-rotate face detection - maybe
Call screening - yes
Extreme Battery Saver - yes
Flip to Shhh - yes
Google Discover feed - yes
Increased touch sensitivity - yes
Live Caption - yes
Live Translate - yes
Magic Eraser - not sure, but may not have this, but does A11 have it?
Now Playing - yes
Screen attention - yes
Screen-off “Hey Google” - I assume yes, but don't use it
The following features are not supported:
“At a Glance” on lock screen - no
“Rules” automation - pretty certin no
Adaptive charging - crdroid has smart charginging in crdroid tweaks, but may be missing adaptive charging
Battery Share -has "power share" quick settings tile
Detailed battery usage history slots -seems to have this
Game Dashboard -crdroid twekas has a gaming mode in crdroid tweaks
Motion Sense - not sure what this is
Pixel Stand integration - maybe missing this
Quick Tap (this may be missing, but Tap Tap is probably better anyway)
Recents text selection" (has this since it comes stock with Pixel launcher with the gapps)
TL: DR -- really just:
“At a Glance” on lock screen
“Rules” automation
Adaptive charging
Pixel Stand integration
