Is there a Samsung watch App that in realtime exchanges the GPS track to a Samsung (or Android) smartphone? - Samsung Galaxy Watch 3

Anyone know of a hiking GPS tracking app that runs on Samsung watch Active 2 and uses Active 2 or 3's hardware GPS, but it allows the track to be shown on a large screen Android/Samsung phone in real time (Not after the activity is completed)
I have tried both Locusmaps and Samsung health app which runs well - Locusmap does not use GPS hardware on the watch (it uses GPS from phone), and Samsung health app does not export track in real time to phone screen.

[Q] Gear with BT LE HR and stride sensors & Null ROM - No phone

Hi, I'm interested to use the Gear for cycling and running without having to bring my phone with me.
Has anyone tried to install a full fitness app on the gear (MapmyRun of Runkeeper...) and pair with a BT HR strap and a BT stride sensor?
Any recommendations for a fitness app that does not need an internet connection when recording? Other than that - should work right or no?
No GPS so will not be that useful with out the phone.

GPS not needed for distance - BT stride sensor can give as accurate as GPS and indoors also... my question can we run a fully installed fitness app on the watch, pair using BT a HR and a stride sensor...and then upload when connected to the hanset after completion..?
If the app supports cloud sync across different devices under the same account then it'll work.

Stride sensor vs pedometer, what's the difference?
A pedometer just counts noumbr of steps. A stride sensor/footpod workiing out ur strides and stride length and therefore distance travelled.
Check a Polar S3 footpod for an example - I cant post a URL here yet. - this is not BT enabled but just for demonstration purposes....Fitness apps have standard profiles for receiving signals from Heart Rate straps and footpods.
The gear is BT4.0 enabled. SO we should be able to pair a HR and footpod. Just need an app that dont need internect connection and should be able to do right?
Data Syn not important really - just nice of possible after thats all...
At present the Gear is useless as a fitness watch - not waterproof, no gps and needs the handset... Hoping the Tizen Gear 2 will have the type of fitness app Im looking for that can operate independent to the phone for running...
I don't think any smartwatch in this or next generation will be officially designed for self-sufficiency. The current focus is notification and senor feedback to the phone.
The Gear 2 like the Gear 1 will require a handler by the smartphone for most of the analysis of the sensor data.
That's where the advantage of the Gear 1's Android OS comes in.
You can make it self-sufficient by installing any Android App directly on it.
With the null rom, you should be able to connect other accessories to it as long as you have an app that supports reading the sensor data.

[Q] Best OS/variant for use w/ Nexus 6?

Hi all. I just bought a Galaxy Gear cheaply and it has the latest (MK7) Android revision on it. I downloaded some Gear Manager and other APKs on here to my Nexus 6 and managed to get it to pair, but I do not get weather or dual city clock face functionality. Also some app keeps crashing on my phone after certain events, like hanging calls up. I think it was called GoManager. My phone is rooted but my watch is fully un-modded.
Which OS is the best thing for me to get the most functionality out of this watch given that I do not use a Samsung device, and especially that I use a Nexus 6? I heard of Null, and of course Tizen. Also TizenMod. What should I do to have the best experience & where can I find an up to date guide on what to do with my watch, phone, & PC? I was hoping to have at least a watch face with the weather, my notifications, & syncing of camera snaps from the watch over to my phone (bare transfer every X minutes is fine).
Thanks so much.

[Q] GPS & GSP Notifying tracker feasablilty

Hi. Reality check please!
...guess who knows nothing about Apps
I'm looking into GPS/GSM Trackers for my motorcycle (anti-thift jobs).
I think the arduino route would work but using a cheap phone would be better (built in GPS, GSM, Battery, IP Rating, & small form factor)
Basically, I'd like an app that would monitor the GPS location every N minutes (depending on battery longevity) and send a text or email to my personal phone when the phone is moved, or maybe toggle on the GPS when the accelerometer is activated and then start tracking its location and notify me when it's moved. I commute daily and getting a text every time I move the bike would be a nuisance, so I'd wire the phone to an in car charger that comes on only when the ignition is on, and set the app up such that it would only monitor the GPS / accelerometer when the ignition is off (i.e. when the phone isn't charging)
I absolutely haven't the foggiest notion how these apps are built. However, I'm a fan of DIY projects! Is this project/app something that would be completely unfeasible for a beginner, or is it something I could learn to build? If it is something that would take an advanced dev to build, name your price & i'll consider it. There are good commercial units available for around the $150 mark, so I'd like to keep the total cost (Phone, App, Charging, mounting) below that.

NFC problem P30 Pro

Phone (updated to firmware 124) have problem with several NFC source. Have option for "running application is preferred", but this isn't working. For example default NFC payment is Google Pay. Another application can't pay. Phone haven't reaction if another payment application running on the top.
Same with Gluco Navi NFC - glucometer. Fully compatible with S health, on the S7 working without any problem. On P30 Pro only beep and vibrate, but data isn't transferred.
Same is very very poor compatibility with Samsung Gear S3. Yes, Huawei watch is in package - but clearly - this isn't really comparable watch (only up time is very nice).

Can't say much about NFC as I use Samsung pay but I do have the p30 pro connected with my Galaxy Watch 46mm LTE and everything that worked on my s10+ works splendid with the p30 pro. Absolutely everything.

Question Galaxy 5 pro golf edition - phone needed for gps?

New to the watch scene. I purchased the galaxy 5 pro golf edition watch. Quick question. Do I need my phone within bluetooth distance for the watch to give me gps distances? ie. is the watch actually giving me distances from my phone and not directly from the watch?
Yes the watch has a built in GPS and as long as you have a sport active which tracks your GPS position, it will give you the total distance. The GPS data processing algorithm on the watch is not that good tho. But since you would be playing golf in an open space, it would be probably quite good.
