Can't install GCam and Can't block hotspot connections on redmi 9C. - Redmi 9C Questions & Answers

I have recently purchased Redmi 9 in India (known as 9C worldwide). Facing some issues and asking for solutions as a new member here:
1. Since this model (M2006C3MII) has a basic 13 mp camera, I am trying to install GCam. Camera2Api seems to have been enabled. I have enabled all the settings, still facing "App not installed" problem. Have tried with 5 different GCam apk files.
2. My previous redmi mobile (3S) has the option to view and block the devices connected to the mobile's hotspot. This redmi 9C seems to not have this option! (it's running on MIUI 12.0.12)
3. I bought the 9C having MIUI 12.0.10. I can't remember distinctly, but it seems this version had the option to keep the internet connection active on sim 1 while I was having a phone call on sim 2. Now that I have updated to 12.0.12, whenever I get a call on the 2nd sim, the net connection on sim 1 is halted. Correct me if I am wrong here.
Please enlighten me with the above issues!

Failed to switch 4G/3G slot on P30 Pro

From the first time I ever use my phone, like 1-2 month ago, this feature (switch default mobile data) never got right. i think some update will solve it, but after several month my this popup "Failed to switch 4G/3G slot" always appear, I use my dual sim for different purpose of network.
at first installing my p30 pro, i restore my phone from xiaomi mi mix 2s direct from google, i ever think to factory reset and brandly new fresh p30 pro, but to restore it will consume so much setting and have to move several custom data in my phone.
i tried to search anywhere in google even this forum, no one thread that discuss this problem, is there any way to troubleshoot where or what to do? i just tried to restart and to swith my phone slot 1 to 2 and reverse, but none of them work, MY EMUI version 9.1.0, Build version 9.1.0.168 (CE301E14R2P2) that sold over lazada.id flash sale Indonesian market.

Obviously Redmi Note 9, thread renamed and moved to the correct section

Are you totally sure your Redmi note 9 has NFC? Some versions don't
Whether or not, you can test it by doing the following (you'll need an NFC tag or NFC equipped bank card etc)
Settings > About Phone > All Specs > tap Kernel Version four times
This opens up CIT
On my phone (model number M2003J15SG) item 31 in CIT is NFC Test
Tap that and follow the instructions
If your phone doesn't register the tag either:
a) your phone doesn't have NFC (likely if this were the case, CIT wouldn't have given you the option to test it though)
b) your tag isn't working
c) your phone's NFC isn't working
For info, I just turned my NFC off and tested that the phone doesn't recognize an NFC tag. Opened CIT and tested it and it recognized the tag - so it seems CIT will test the hardware, even if software is disabling it
If it still won't work, post back with your model number and I'll check if it is supposed to have NFC

Yeah but there is a problem that i can't turn on nfc (I have the button but it instant turn itself off) so while checking i just get message "Please turn on the NFC function". And I have exacly same model as you so I'm sure it has got NFC function
Hi @Grimer_
I have the exact same problem with my Note 9. I have used NFC on this phone for a couple of years without an issue but it recently and suddenly stopped working (possibly after the MIUI 13 update but not entirely sure about it). It seems that NFC turns itself on and off continuously from the drag-down panel but it has actually never worked since. I have tried all sorts of suggestions from blogs etc but nothing worked, I even reached out to the Xiaomi team through the feedback channel app but they stopped replying. If anyone has any idea how to fix the bug I'd be happy to try it, thanks!

Question Xiaomi 11t Pro VoLTE and Vowifi

HI Guys,
I just bought this phone for sure I love it but I live in an area where VoLTE is and VoWifi is a must to have due to poor mobile reception
I used the dial in numbers to get VoLte and and Vowifi activated got success and was able to switch them on from Mobile network menu, but they aren't working at all I tried with flight mode on and off for Vowifi same thing, tried sim card from another network no use, and signs for VoLTE or Vowifi hasn't come on notification panel also
I am on Global Rom
MIUI Version 12.5.10 (RKDMIXM)
Does anyone knows any solution to this
Thanks in advance
I've had a problem with my carrier and Wi-Fi calling which I had to fix myself. Xiaomi do nothing except bundle the default carrier settings and very little testing is done if any. There is a good chance the carrier configuration settings for your carrier are missing or broken.
If you can let me know the carrier and country you are trying to get it to work with I will take a look at the modem configuration settings for that carrier and see if it has anything in it for VoWiFi or VoLTE.
Getting it fixed however, unless you go down the technical route of using Qualcomm debug tools and unlocking the bootloader and rooting, the chances of getting it fixed is close to zero. Xiaomi have never looked at the bug report I filed months ago.
HI Philip,
Thank you for the response I am in Australia using Telstra network, I tried Optus Sim as well having the same issue with it, the only solution I could find is in below link
https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/3rppj4r3
It says have to enter into Modem test tools to change region and network to Australia which isn't possible without unlocking the bootloader, I have requested bootloader unlock permission if it doesn't help will need to switch the phone

I've looked at the modem configuration file relating to IWLAN and the settings are there. It is noted a Certificate is required to join the IWLAN for VoWiFi so it is possible that certificate isn't on the phone or is now out of date so a connection isn't allowed. It is also possible other configuration settings in the config file are out of date and need updating. If it is possible to get another carrier modem file to work, then often other things can break, but at least that would give a pointer to what changes need to be made by comparing the two.
It should be noted that Xiaomi don't really test these devices everywhere and they seem to just use the default Qualcomm provided carrier modem files and hope for the best in any particular country. You can use the feedback options to tell them of a problem but in my experience you will never get a response and in my case they've never opened a linked file with extra information (on Google drive so I can see who last opened it).
Regarding the other forum info, well I've not been able to get the modem test tool working on the 11T Pro (says to contact the modem team for permission), and the forum posts suggest we need weekly test ROMs where the permissions are enabled, however there are no weekly ROMs for the 11T Pro as far as I know. The next best thing is to modify the same settings using the Qualcomm debug tools, this takes some effort to get working.

I can confirm the Xiaomi.eu ROMs contain exactly the same modem files (they don't touch them), so I doubt very much it will be any different. By all means give it a go if you like.
Hi Philip,
Have you checked EEA firmware if that has it?

Yes I checked the EEA firmware. From what I've seen investigating my own issues with VoWiFi is that all the firmware regardless of region contain the same standard Qualcomm modem files, even across different devices, not just the 11T Pro.
Did you try to disable carrier check? Dial *#*#86583#*#* in phone and then the VoLTE option would appear into sim options.

Question Missing NFC on Mi Note 11, is it missing hardware or disabled software?

Does anyone know if there's a way to get the NFC working on my Mi Note 11?
I'm in Australia and have gone from a Mi 9 with NFC to a Mi Note 11 which seemed to have it in the advertised specs, but after some googling, and seeing a little asterisk next to the NFC label saying that NFC compatibility was "*dep. on the region", I'm left with a phone that doesn't have any NFC menu in the OS at all.
Is it something that can be fixed by flashing a different firmware, or is there some kind of hardware limitation with my specific model?
Full specs attached
Quick look on your version shows that you have 13.0.6 SGCMIXM
13.0.6: MIUI 13
S: You are on Android 13
GC: You are on the non-NFC model. My RN11 with NFC is GK
MI: Global ROM
XM: Xiaomi
Your model is the non-NFC version

Question Network Access for Dual Sim not working

Hi folks, I recently bought a OnePlus 10 pro which is NE2215 inside but outside the back of the phone labeled as NE2210.
It's run perfectly but almost after 1 month both network sims stop working, at that time I was on Android 13, therefore
roll back to Android 12 by using the guide at this forum but that didn't work.
I need assistance please how do overcome this and how I change the IMEI of my phone, does changing IMEI work or not.
