Is the K12 Note = G9 Play (Motorola GuamP) - Moto G9 Play Questions & Answers

More specifically, can most things described for the G9 Play be applicable to the Lenovo K12 Note (ie TWRP, bootloader unlock, etc)?

but then I don't understand....
for the S7, the exnyos (usually european) version has an easier time to make custom roms for, custom roms everywhere, A series is like this too...
yet the snapdragon verison... no go! why is that?

Questions before buying...

Hi guys, I have a few questions before buying a Moto X4 (xt1900-01):
1- Can we unlocking bootloader?
2- Can we use Magisk with modules?
3 - Can we use twrp for flashing, backup and restore?
I have knowledge about unlocking bootloader, root, flashing with commands, etc. Now I have a Moto G5 Plus with rom AospExtended and Magisk with several modules and substratum themes. I would like to know if I will be able to modify something my new Moto X4.
Thanks!
I would like to know as well...the x4 seems abandoned on here. Which sucks because it has all the good specs!
I have a moto x4. You can unlock the bootloader with the fastboot unlock command. You can also flash twrp recovery, but right now there isn't really any custom roms you can flash it with. This forum has the recovery images:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x4/development/dev-testing-t3707432
I haven't tried magisk on the moto x4, but you can install it and use it. This forum has more information on it:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x4/development/root-moto-x4-t3696180
The main reason why there isn't much development for this device is because Motorola has only recently released the source code for the moto x4 on android Oreo. Hopefully we will have more roms for this device in the next few months
It would be better to buy this phone in a few months if you are using it for hacking and development purposes. It should be a little more cheaper then, and there should be more development.

Can you point to a device that has really decent Custom Rom support?
It has to be cheap, not over $450+++ expensive ones.
The only thing I can think of is Xiaomi Mi A1 and Mi 6.

The Android One version of the HTC U11 Life is treble-compliant, so in theory it could support any treble ROM. I don't know if anyone has actually tried it though. It has the same QC 630 SOC as the x4.

Which is easy rootable phone?

Which is the most root friendly phone where I can set up Magisk ??
I don't know how recent you want, but I have the Axon 7. It's really easily rooted.

I want 2016+ phones, cheap and which i can root easily, I'm tired to find any.
Generally speaking I'd suggest to check models that are in BOTH Lineage and TWRP official support lists:
https://download.lineageos.org/ (click on menu)
https://twrp.me/Devices/
That way besides stock ROM (probably not difficult to root because above availability) you will always have the alternative ROM + Recovery.

Also, check which devices are the most popular on XDA forum; there's lots of old but great flagship devices like the OP3 that are still getting tons of attention and are available on the cheap.
The problem is that most of your cheaper phones are either built intentionally to be tough to root, or ppl who buy them just don't care enough to do the extra. I know there was a midrange Moto a few years back and I'm sure it is still getting indie development, but the name escapes me... Try googling "most easily rooted phones" and see what you get. Might just need to get secondhand/older/foreign if cost is an issue.
Edit: just noticed your objection to older phones. You do realize that if you are going to root your phone anyway, you are 20x better off with a flagship 2014 model that has a Qualcomm 8xx PROCESSOR (or even most 7 and 6 series) than an Intel or almost any Mediatek processor? You don't need to worry about the age of it if it's in good condition and there's active development. THAT'S how you'll save money IMO.

Cheap? I'd say Xiaomi A2 or the Poco F1. Xiaomi bootloader is locked from the factory, but they have an official tool called Mi Unlocker to easily unlock it.
In case of Mi A2, released in 2016, since it's an AndroidOne device, you can simply unlock it using fastboot. It also has LineageOS and TWRP official support. From factory it came with Oreo, then updated to Pie. And they will release Android 10 for it at the end of this month (https://www.notebookcheck.net/The-X...edge-towards-Android-10-update.447310.0.html)
I'm running Mi A2 with Havoc OS v2.8 based on Android Pie, rooted with Magisk 20.2, and EdXposed 0.4.5. The device pass SafetyNet and can install Netflix from the Play Store.
They released Mi A3 with AMOLED display. But it's 720p with a notch, a downgrade from the notchless 1080p LCD display of Mi A2. But it has 3 cameras instead of two, and 4000mah battery instead of 3000mah in Mi A2, and will receive official Android 11.
Which phones are currently easiest to unlock, root and install ROMs?

Moto E5+ Custom ROM Installed on Moto E5

Is it safe to install a ROM for an E5 Plus onto a normal E5? I'm wanting to upgrade to Android 10 and haven't found any ROMs for the E5, but have found LineageOS for the E5 Plus and wanted to know if it was fine to use that instead. My phones model, I think, is XT1920DL.

Run
Code:
fastboot getvar all
To find codename for the device.
Only use custom roms with that codename.

Question Re-lock bootlader Moto Edge S pro

Hi, reciently I bought the Moto Edge S pro from Aliexpress. It comes with Global Rom from Moto Edge 20 pro and bootloader unlocked. My question is, can I lock the bootloader with Moto Edge 20 pro official Rom?. The power-on screen bothers me with the unlocked bootloader warning. I have read lock the booloader with a custom rom can brick the phone, but this is not a custom rom.
PD. I try to fix this flashing .imgs but nothing works.
PD2. Sorry my english, i'm from Chile. Viva Chile mierda!.
Do not re-lock this device without original system. It will bick your device. By the way, the power-on warning logo can be replaced.
Ok, thanks. I can't change the power-on warning logo, i dont know why. I have change it in other devices with out problems, but with this phone nothing happens, only the letters and the color of the warning letters change.
Any suggestions how I could do it? Or the files needed? I have tried to do it with the bootlogo of the global rom but what I mention above happened
Thanks!

I have the same problem. Realized too late that the phone had custom ROM on it, and now I am not getting updates and that horrid screen comes up
May I know if you asked Aliexpress seller to put Global ROM or you did not inform them that you want a sealed box/stock China ROM? You can buy from Aliexpress with a sealed box (no root).
Anyway, I hope you guys can fix this issue. It's annoying that Motorola spent their time adding a warning message instead of focusing their resources improving other features.
any luck on getting rid of the power-on logo?

Hello, any idea how to resolve it because I bricked my device (flash locked) & no Valid OS to boot the device (can't activate USB debugging, just have fastboot working but can't flash over fastboot )
