Question Mi11 stuck in bootloop, bootloader locked - Xiaomi Mi 11

Hi, after receiving the phone today i tried following this guide to install custom ROM -
. I got stuck at trying to unlock the bootloader and after trying that for the 3rd time i got a notification that the system is corrupted (or something along those lines) and now it is in bootloop. It can be detected in XiaoMiToolV2, I can also hear that my PC detects it when i plug it in, but i can't find a way to unbrick it. I read that i should wait a week to be able to unlock the bootloader. When trying to unlock it (while in bootloop) I'm getting the same message as before, when the system was still working. Does that mean that I could just wait 7 days and then it would allow me to unlock the bootloader and progress with installing another ROM? Or should I try something else?

Try flash stock - the same rom you had with miflash.....thats the best way for now....can you enter fastboot mode? Volume down+power? If so you are saved then

I tried many times, but whenever i do that it just shows Xiaomi logo and them shows the fastboot image.
About that flash stock - can i do that with locked bootloader? I did try installing another rom and the phone itself is detected but the bootloader prevents me from installing it. I think I'll just wait those 2-3 days left until it's been week since adding the phone to my account and will try to unlock the bootloader. That should work, right?

Yes, you can flash the MIUI stock ROM with a locked bootloader. I'd recommend doing that first.

So yesterday i managed to unlock the bootloader and install the fastboot rom from xiaomi.eu. Everything works great, but I have one question - after the installation i can see that there is newer version in miui system update. Is it safe to update it from there or should i just stick to official roms from xiaomi.eu? Will updating this way revert everything to chinese version (Suggested update is 3.9GB, with the name on MIUI 12.5 V12.5.13.0.RKBCNXM)

Instead of using PC Suite, boot your phone into fastboot mode and flash the ROM using MiFlash. Don't use Mi PC Suite. Follow instructions on one of the guides in the forum and you should be fine.

Chances are it's already unlocked, with vendor rom (let's hope so). Check through fastboot with command prompt
fastboot oem device-info
Don't use PC suite until they fix it's problems.

My phone doesn't even charge now and doesn't show the mi logo any longer. The only thing happens when i connect the charger is that the led blinks red continuously. Is it hardbricked? What can i do now? Sorry to trouble you
Edited. Now I get the mi logo back after an hour of changing.

As you're not sure whether your phone is charging, I would suggest keeping it connected to the charger for a few hours. This way, it may eventually get charged atleast to a safe level at some point.
After this, if you dont already have ADB and Fastboot installed, install it from the guide in the forums. Make sure to uninstall PC Suite first.
Once ADB is installed, open up the shell, boot device into fastboot mode and connect to PC. In the command shell,
Type fastboot oem device-info
It should show you the device bootloader lock status. Though most phones which come with Vendor ROMs have unlocked bootloaders, this is not always the case as my phone came with a vendor ROM while bootloader was locked. I suspect this is because vendors may have a signed Custom ROM file which can be flashed using the stock recovery, meaning bootloader unlocking is not a necessity for them to load the custom firmware.
Once you check whether bootloader is unlocked, if it isnt, unlock the bootloader using the guide.
Then install MiFlash and flash the fastboot ROM
if it is locked (afaik, mi suite can lock bootloaders, but there is no compatible mi pc suite for the mix available, so it shouldn't) then you need a deep flash cable to force flash anything in miflash tool. buy one for a few dollar on aliexpress.
xiaomi deep flash cable. with the button.

I was wondering how the OP flashed using Mi PC Suite considering the Mix isnt supported. Maybe he is referring to Mi Flash as PC Suite.
If thats the case he may have messed something during the flashing process. Isn't there a way to enter EDL mode without the deep flash cable? I think it was done via a fastboot command.

First of all THANK YOU ALL for helping out. I just downloaded the Chinese MI Pc Suite. It said my phone has an update (it was in chinese so i had to look it up via google translate) then i clicked download and update. it downloaded the 8.0.12.0 Chinese Stable rom and flashed my phone with it. It was working fine but i tried to flash the Dev Rom the same way and it's stuck now. I didn't even know the Mi Flash tool until i opened this thread. Now i have the Mi Flash tool but my phone doesn't show up on it. I don't know how to use ADB and Fast Flash tools. Tried the forum but there are so many guides and i'm not sure which one would suit my problem. Now all i want is getting my phone working again and switching to EU ROM and not touching anything risky ever again.

You can follow this guide compiled by @underlines : Guide: (17-01-09) Flash Global/China ROM, Root, gapps, Xposed, TWRP
This guide has step by step instructions on how to install ADB and fastboot, unlock bootloader and Flash a ROM of your choice. Providing you follow the guide carefully, you wouldn't face any issues.
I have also posted a guide which is only intended to be an add-on to the guide posted by underlines. This means you should already have the recommended files downloaded and bootloader unlocked. using the guide above.
My guide uses a different version of MiFlash as certain Vendor ROMs are not compatible with the newer version. If you are unable to flash using the original guide above, you can also try following my guide. Guide to switch from Vendor ROM to EU ROM
But I would strongly recommend going through the guide posted by @underlines as you are new to flashing.

Finally got my unlock message and got my phone unlocked. thanks for all the help. But i'm a bit confused following the guide since i'm a noob and don't want to take risks again. First of all do i need to flash the Chinese ROM again before flashing EU rom? Secondly on step 4 of flalshing EU rom it says this:
"type
Code:
fastboot flash recovery C:\path\to\your\twrp-3.0.2-0-rc2-eu-lithium.img
change the colored path to the correct path to your twrp file (not the EU one) and press enter"
what does "(not the EU one)" means?

You can use the TWRP RC2. This version has been confirmed by many to work with both the Official stable and dev ROMS.
Some have experienced issues with touch functionality within TWRP using RC1.
RC2 is the way to go. If you have already flashed one of the official roms, if you'd like to flash the EU ROM, you can follow my guide. Providing you follow all steps correctly, you should be on EU ROM.

Flashing official ROM is not necessary if TWRP is working fine. Flash TWRP RC2 using fastboot, if touch is working for you, you can proceed copying the required files.
Follow my guide on this link.
If TWRP is working fine for you, you can follow from Step 6. If touch is frozen in TWRP, follow my guide from Step 1.
If TWRP works for you, when it prompts you to swipe right, make sure you flash the dm-verity and forced encryption disabler from the link I have provided, soon after you have swiped right to allow system modifications. If not you may face a bootloop.
Keep the guide open and follow the steps.

Big problems after bootloop

Hi all
Unfortunately, I'm having serious problems with my new Mi8, which arrived yesterday. It arrived with Global ROM and opened Bootloader.
Switch On, set up, data from the Mi6 pulled by NFC, all tutti. the Mi account I have connected here too.
Then I wanted to play the xiaomi.eu. TWRP installed via "Minimal adb and fastboot", installed via TWRP then the xiaomi.eu-ROM (newest). Has also worked. When setting up the point that I can play back via NFC what was not displayed, or I have overlooked him. Okay, again from the beginning, I thought. Have then reset the phone to factory settings to repeat the device.
Then the phone stuck in the bootloop. Again and again the Mi logo appeared and "unlocked", disappeared and came back, disappeared and came back. I did not get into the TWRP anymore, just into the fastboot.
On advice of different users on FB and another forum I should flash the Global ROM again over the MiFlash tool, which I did then also. Unfortunately I carelessly chose "Flash-and-Lock" and closed the boot loader. Unfortunately, this flash did not work and the phone now only starts in recovery mode 3.0
Due to the closed boot loader, it is not possible for me to install TWRP again, to flash another ROM with MiFlashTool. Also, the Unlock tool does not work, because I get the error message that the device is not linked to my account. I have also tried to install a recovery mod on the Xiaomi PC suite, as the bar remains on the PC but at 0%, on the phone remains the image with the pictured Mi8, after I in the recovery menu "Connect with MiAssistent "selected. Otherwise nothing happens.
With the latest version of the PC suite flashing works, but still boots the box in the recovery mode and the red font remains. Another user in the other forum said that I need the CN version, because on the CN device no EU-Rome is allowed. The CN version is rejected by the PC suite not get verified.
What else can I do. Do you have an idea that helps me getting the phone back on track?
This, for me, is the biggest joke of Xiaomi! Many users are getting stuck in this new policy! That does not exist! A total lack of respect for brand lovers. Let the developers figure out how to reverse this.
try CN Dev version, is latest and best,
forget xiaomi.eu rom lol, almost all they do you can do by yourself within minutes, uninstalling few chinese apps and get google works with googleinstaller_v3. and dev rom have root. just suggestion.
I tried the last cn-version, but the pc-suite dont verify this ROM and dont flash it.

Miflasher dont work, because the bootloader is locked.
To OP and the issue at hand, have you tried the fastboot image to install chinese stable or developer rom? That should flash and allow you to unlock bootloader again.
To the people whining about this policy of Xiaomi, you are buying a product for a different market. There is nothing wrong with their policy and you should wait for global version of the phone if you want global image with locked bootloader. It's a little like complaining that the chinese MMO you play over vpn doesn't have english menus. Well no, it's not for that market.

I tried only the chinese recovery rom for flashing with the pc-suite. The fastboot image, I can only flash with twrp or miflashtool, right? TWRP dont work, I cant boot in it. And miflashtool says, as I tried to flash the global rom, that it isnt allowed to erase a locked device.

Nah, the fastboot image flashes best in my experience if you unpack it, all the way. You will get some folders and .bat files. make sure you have fastboot in either PATH or same directory make sure fastboot detects the image and after that run the flash_all.bat and it should flash it.

Need help to unbrick my Mi 9 Lite

Hello everyone. I will try to explain what happened. Yesterday, was trying to unlock the bootloader but ended up trying to install a global rom without unlocking the bootloader first. Long story short, the update ended up failing and now the system has been destroyed. I was thinking of unlocking the bootloader via the official software when the waiting period is over and then flash TWRP and Lineage OS. But I have a problem, mi_unlock stops at 99% and then reboots my phone to fastboot. The bootloader is locked, I'm using a windows computer, my drivers are updated and before messing everything up I enabled usb debugging.
Any suggestions?

Lenovo Z5 pro gt bootloop after installing OTA (ZUI 11.5)

So i recently got the prompt to install zui 11.5 on my phone and got it installed relatively fine. Download took around 15 minutes and required 1 gb of storage. After downloading, i installed the OTA update and my phone did its thing. After around 3 minutes, the installation was done and my phone is now stuck at the lenovo logo. I have been waiting for around 30 minutes but it does not boot up properly yet? I have a CN rom and is the not a custom rom whatsoever so im not sure what caused the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.:crying:
Before the update, does your phone show a warning screen? If so, the bootloader was unlocked previously.
You might need to unlock the bootloader again as some OTAs relock the bootloader. However if you unlock the bootloader, it will factory reset the phone.
No i did not see any warning before. My phone previously came with an unlocked bootloader and had a global rom. I flashed a CN rom to receive OTA and it worked fine as I was able to receive updates. But when I received the Zui 11.5 update, it told me that my bootloader was locked whenever i booted into fastboot.

Expected behavior, this is also reported in the 4PDA thread. That's why the update from 11.1.021 to 11.5.xxx relocks bootloader.
5.134/5.141/5.223 can be done directly from 1.021, while 1.021 -> 5.141 -> 5.182 -> 5.199 can be done sequentially. But all will have the effect of relocking the bootloader.
Well what would do you suggest that I do ? Sorry I am not much of a techie or know that much when it comes to these sort of things. I was able to remove the bootloop by flashing the stock firmware again thus i am back on Zui 10.5. Currently not receiving any updates for Zui 11 or Zui 11.5 as it shows there are no updates available.

Haven't tested so am not sure if stock recovery would allow this. I myself am still on 5.182 because I don't want an update to relock the bootloader and I don't want to reformat my phone when I unlock the bootloader again.
I have finally fixed the problem. With the file you have provided, I flashed the Zui 11 and got my phone to the said version. 5) Redownload QFIL version 2.7.453 from another site, uninstall existing QFIL , clean Program Files (x86) \ Qualcomm, ProgramData \ Qualcomm, AppData \ Roaming \ Qualcomm folders, install QFIL
6) In Device Manager, the hardware item may have a triangle with an exclamation mark. Reinstall drivers using the "Disable driver signing enforcement" mode and try QFIL again without rebooting
7) The file system type in QFIL is by default on emmc. Change to ufs, restart QFIL and try again
8) Turn on flight mode
9) Turn off antivirus
10) In the Configuration check “Use verbose”
Some steps need some more Googling. Hope this helps.

I cant get out of sahara fail too the first time i did it 2 months ago it worked first time. someone have any ideas how to make it work again ? edit: Factory reset would help? edit2:after unlock the bootloader again he did boot normaly and now I have android 10 hope it helps anyone.
I also got the sahara error on my first time. If you got the sahara error, you just have to make sure you press the volume Up, Down and Power button all at the same time. Afterwards, it is very important to quickly connect your phone to the cable attached to the Pc. The sahara error occurs when you are too slow at that process.
I've done this around 5 times and successfully flashed other firmware on my phone. You could also try changing the cable or port that you are using. Checking if you installed the drivers correctly and followed the options in Qfil.
But from what I saw from other threads, sahara error mostly occurs if you are not fast enough at connecting the cable after pressing the buttons.

I have finally fixed the problem. With the file you have provided, I flashed the Zui 11 and got my phone to the said version. After flashing the update, my phone got a prompt for Zui 11.5 again and I proceeded to install it again. The update now works and my phone booted in around 2 minutes. I am now in Zui 11.5.223 ST. Thank you so much for you help:laugh::good:

Can you give me the steps to update zui 11.5 like you did, pls...
I followed the steps stated in here but instead of using the stock firmware, I used the Zui 11 stock firmware.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-...ro-gt-t3915945
After flashing the Zui 11, check your system update again and it should prompt you to install Zui 11.5. If you got into a boot loop again, I would recommend to reflash the Zui 11 stock firmware again. Flashing it again fixed the bootloop. Goodluck:good:

Question Bootloader

Hi recently I tried to install TWRP on my xiaomi 12 pro but instead it made my phone stuck on fastboot, I used mi flash to flash it to the normal rom but it said something about it being not supported so I picked wipe date on the phone and tried to install a different version but, now apparently the phone is locked and I do not know how to unlock it to flash it again. any help will be appreciated please.
Things I've tried
fastboot oem unlock
fastboot flashing unlock
Mi flash - I cant flash because the device is locked and I have not logged in with a Mi account.
XiaoMiTool v2
Flashing twrp again

Which version?
So as not to make the same mistake again if we manage to save the phone.
Which TWRP and which command.
For Miflash you have probably left the flash and lock box checked.
If you could post the Miflash log (Miflash log folder)
I used this guide to install twrp
I put global rom instead of europe rom which came with my phone
I do have another xiaomi device I was wondering it I could somehow transfer the account to my bricked phone then flash it that way

Is the version of your phone Chinese with a Xiaomi EU rom?
I bought it from Here
It says in the description that 'The initial Chinese version has been updated to a global ROM.'
so I'm not sure when I got it I checked the rom and it said the Europe version I tried to update the version but when it was ready to install it said 'your device supports twrp' and I clicked ok to the instructions and when the device booted back up it was in recovery mode and I pressed restart and no updates were made.

It is a Chinese version.
post the Miflash log (Miflash log folder) so I can check what you did.
The log is between 20 and 25 KB and starts like this
[23:28:45 eeab043a]:MiFlash 2020.3.14.0
[23:28:45 eeab043a]:vboytest index:1
[23:28:45 eeab043a]:idproduct: 53261 idvendor: 6353
I think I deleted the one that I used I was on my i've just given up after hours of trying to fix it

As you have on my tutorial, this is the mistake not to do with a Chinese device.
Now to be sure, flash a Chinese rom with Miflash by checking the Clean all box.
Either the phone works again or not, Miflash will give you the error, surely 'lock state'
yes it says failed remote: erase is not allowed in lock state, im trying to get out of that mode I need help with that
