Question Apps won't update - Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

I have a recurring problem that apps stop updating. Deleting the Play Store memory and cache sorts it, but only for one or two apps then it stops again. Apps either just sit saying pending or download to XX% and then stop.

report it to Google

Clear system cache.
Clear data in related apps.
Delete, recreate Google Account.

I had this issue after the first beta. I had to go to apk mirror and install the latest update for the app that wouldn't update. Once I did that the next updates that showed in play store, updated correctly.
Edit* I believe this happened because I restored my Samsung backup including apps but I could be wrong. Either way that fixed it.

Unless you're having issues with the app I wouldn't worry about it. Updates can and do break apps. I use the factory load version still after 2 years on some of mine.
Some saved app versions go back 6 years and work fine!
Google's update crap is just that many times. Trying to scare you into constantly updating.
If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it bro...
You can also use ApkExport on another Android to make an installable copy then download it to the other device.

[Q] Can't log into Talk or download from Market

I can't download from Market. I tried to go to the web Market to download from there, and looked up Troubleshooting. It recommended signing into Talk and then trying to download. Well, I can't log into Talk. Anyone have a way I can fix this? I do have adb access. I am running Honeycomb through an sd card. Any suggestions beyond having to try the process all over again? If not, I know there are several threads on getting gmail/market/talk/maps/yahoo/etc. on the card once the OS is loaded. Which is the best one to use and follow, and what should I do once everything is on there (like what to sign on first (yahoo, or gmail, or talk, etc.)? Total newb to rooting, so I would appreciate any guidance. Getting market working is the last thing I need to get working basically. Thanks!
Force stop market and google services framework, clear caches and data for both, reboot. This worked for me.

What if you can't clear the data on Market? There's 124 kb worth of data in there, and it won't allow me to clear it. I can force stop the market and force stop/clear data on framework, but just doing those and then rebooting still won't allow me on talk or to download on market. What it did give me though was it allowed me to "see" more apps in Market that didn't show before, like Pandora. Still can't download it, but I can see it.

paid market apps and my apps

ok stupid question..but im thinking of buying tibu and beweather from the market.. when i purchase them..and updates continue to come out..can i update them always..or do i always to pay again when an update comes out..and if there are free updates..how does it work if i reflash a rom or something using cm7.. thanks
and while im here..one more question..im my rom experience will be complete.. lol i went to flash cm7 and when i did all the restore and stuff it should that i had 50 updates but then that went away in my market..and now my complaint is i know i have more than 100 apps and it doesnt show on my apps in my market..ive rebooted reflash all that..im using tibu 4.0.0 but when i browse for that app..it does say its installed..its just that if i got my apps some of them are not there..basically if i wanna see if theres an update i have to browse for it to see if it says update or just installed..but if recall..i think when i did an update it finally was seen in my apps in market correctly after the update..what gives please help..thanks..sorry for the two questions in one and the long ramble
I am sure you pay once and all the updates after are free. I haven't bought applications on android, but am just assuming it's like digital distribution in general.
... I can't really understand your second question/ ramble. If it's about your downloaded applications list disappearing when flashing a new rom, yeah, that happens. You could just use titanium backup to restore applications once you are done flashing the new rom. Sorry if I missed the meaning of your second question.
i have tibu pro and i get the updates on the same licence. it's one of few apps i've bought. you need to go to manage applications to the market , clear data and you will see your apps.

did you try to reinstall the market? after the flash... also were the apps all d/l'ed from the same market account originally? not trying to be a smartass just throwing a few more ideas out there...... back to stock???

Yeah, I think that's a common problem when restoring from TiBu...the market gets confused. Happened to me...it's an easy fix:
First, reboot the phone to make sure everything is closed. Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications. Tap the All tab. Scroll down until you find Market. Tap Market to open it's application settings. Tap the "Clear Data" button. Reboot the phone. Your market should now show everything.
If you purchase an app from the market, updates are included in the original price (i.e., you won't have to pay again). Purchases are tied to your Google account, so even if you buy a new phone, when you log in with your Google ID, the apps you purchased will show up in the "My Apps" section of the Market. You'll have to reinstall them, but you won't have to pay again.
^ this.
Although you don't have to reboot first to clear market data just clearing it will do the trick.
ok so heres the story..i did what everyone ask me to do..somehow still didnt work..then i did the market doctor thats suppose to fix the market links didnt work..i uninstalled tibu..rebooted and now i shows all my apps with like half of them needing updates..i know theres some that need updates and some that dont..but i did it ne ways just to be sure..so basically i got all my apps back! yay..thanks guys..so wait one of you said that i dont have to pay again and as long as i have my google id i can still dl it even if i flash ANY rom on here..thanks again!
Paid apps are linked to the google account that purchased them. You could sign in to your account on a completely different device and download them. So yes flashing then away will not cause you to have to repurchase them.

Google Play Services Error

I am getting a lot of the GPS errors. I updated am still getting it. I can not open Gmail App because of this.
And I just updated Oxygen.
Try going into apps making sure show system apps is enabled and clear these two system cache's (clear all data) on Google services. Then for good measure go to storage clear cache and reboot. After that you will need to sign back in but all apps and there data is still there. Hope that helps has done for me in the past especially after a play services update.
Never attached screenshots
Just tried the clearing and all is good. Now I need root and to Pixelize it and i will be happy.
Any other tips? made no difference to mine.... getting hacked off with the Oneplus 3T and I've only had it 4hrs! no google apps will work... music... gmail... hangouts... all say the same " google play service error" please contact the developer
I did a clean install and started over again... seems good now.
Coming from a x5 Pro this thing is dam fast!

Question Slow downloads in Playstore (speeds up after deleting data of playstore)

Hey Everyone,
my problem is - very often the downloads from Google Play are very slow. (About 300kbit/s)
When I stop the download and go to Apps --> Google Play and then delete the Data, then open the playstore again and download the same file, it will be much faster. (at least one magnitude, about 3-8mb/s)
Any ideas?
My Wifi is the same as before and my internet-provider does provide 100mbit/s, which is being realistic about 50-90mbit/s in real life.
Regards,
Maeffjus
it seems that latest ROM updates (I think I have this on all AUB* ones) is weirdly strict on background activities and cuts every one of them. my whole device acts strangely - apps not showing notification or showing them late (hours later than they were supposed to show), my apps are not updating: I have to repeatedly FC play store, then clear its cache so that currently installing app changes state from downloading to installing, than do it again to change state fomr installing to installed etc. worked fine on AUA* ones. it is really annoying. btw I tried to clear cache and dalvik/art cache from recovery, but that did not help. I have not tried factory seset yet...
I cannot download apps or update apps. Turns out its Virgin Media (UK) blocking traffic. They're sending me a brand new shiny SuperHub 4.
It seems that it was data corruption during regular OTA. Factory reset seems to fix problems for me.

Deleted the wrong file maybe?

I was deleting some files from my phone (not rooted so ADB) and now I can not get Google calendar it will just keep crashing. Is there any dependencies that I possibly deleted? To make a quick answer?
Or do I need to post the entire list of what I deleted to narrow it down?
You obviously deleted something it is a dependency of. Don't delete apks/services unless you know what they do and their dependencies. This goes double for all those small Samsung system apps...
Oh well. I have to reinstall everything in a month anyways after its unlocked.
a factory reset will bring all your deactivated apps back into service, at the cost of your own apps.
we can't know all the system apps by function nor what you've disabled. I disable most google stuff but my calendar still works. I haven't touched play services or google services framework. if you've disabled either of those start there. find the command to activate them and reboot after.
