Question Is 5G Working for You? - Vivo X60 Pro+

So my carrier just launched their 5G on NSA network, however when i turned 5G on, the icon on my notification still shows 4G or 4G+ at times. Not sure if 4G+ means 5G but does anyone else have 5G working and is the icon on the notification bar different?

Before I got mine flashed with the global ROM the 5g worked perfect

Does 5g not work on the global rom? Was entertaining the switch. Not that it's a deal breaker, but important nonetheless.

To be honest am not sure but when I was on the Chinese rom it used to show the 5g simple but now it doesn't. Next time am on a 5g area I'll text it again and see what speed I get

Question Says 5g at the bars, multiple apps/speed test prove otherwise

Anyone who owns the Chinese version of the mi 11 ultra can test it out?
I got 5g enabled in the settings, confirmed selected in the dialer menu *#*#4636#*#* top bars say 5G and an HD symbol on its left which I confirmed is Vo-lte...
Issue is it's not really 5g but LTE or 4g, how I came to this conclusion was by running various apps/ simultaneous 5g speed tests on both this phone and an older Huawei phone I got..
Mi 11 ultra caps at 140+- dl speeds
Huawei caps at 500+- dl speeds
Provider runs 5g on band n78 which is supported by both phones..
Can running the Eu ROM fix this issue for me?

Thanks for forwarding me there, guess all I can do is try it out and hope for the best otherwise a 12gb/512 is up for sale
n78 is 3.5 GHz 5G band (is wiiide band, is not a 600hz band lmao) Your phone preferred to stay connected to 5G bands more than 4G bands.
Try to switch to 4G network preferred
And check it out your actual speed on 4G
(Huawei supports more bands than xiaomi...due to different processor which is Kirin)

Question No 5G

i cannnot get 5G with my X3 pro ,
only 4 G +, i have global Version , i am from Austria (Magenta) ,with my iPhone 12 there ist no Problem with 5G, what can i do, regards Nico
Ask your carrier. Your phone might not be yet supported by the carrier when it comes to 5G. Usually carriers support firstly iphones and samsung phones....then over time the compatibility is extended to other phones.
In addition double check if you have 5G enabled:
Settings -> sim cards & mobile data -> choose SIM -> Preferred network type.
You can also get a SIM replacement (even if 5g was working on iphones it might not on other phones due to some SIM incompatibilities)

Does it also enable 5G SA (Standalone)?

I have a similar problem, I have a dual sim UK BT + Vodaphone although my issue is with the BT sim (standalone or in dual sim). I can get 5G on the BT sim when I swap the sim in and install the APN, sometime later 5G goes away and 4G is all I can get. Strangely this happens on my Find X2 too, I have no problem with 5G on the (many) phones I have. Vodafone seems to get 5G all the time. The BT sim is 5G ready.
Not sim settings have the 5G/4G/3G setting......but once 5G goes away it doesn't come back until I provoke it by say swapping sim1 to sim2...but it will go away at some time

STDNOL, do you mean SYMBOL?
Yes it does show the 5G symbol for the time 5G is on, then 4G/4G+
5G network can only be enjoyed if it's available in your region. Kindly contact your Mobile Operator to check if 5G is available.

Question Mi 11 ultra no 5G cellular network [ stock global ]

Hello everyone,
I've just upgrade my plan to have 5G support, but the phone does't pick it up ( the carrier says it's ok )..
I also searched manually for networks and I find every network even from other provider but NOT a single one with 5G.
obviously I am in a 5G area, center of Milan, and sim slot 1 ( but I recall that was dual 5G, no? )
It's a bug, broken or I played with some setting disabling 5G?

EDIT: SEEMS LIKE THAT switching preferred types, airplane mode, while outdoor made the phone to connect t o a 5G antenna...
funny note, it's slower that 3g: 5.69mps/0.59mbps

you mean preferred network type? always been in 5G
Try to reset apn configuration and all kind of connection, then switch off the phone for 1 minute and reswitch it on

If you have the chinese model (not EU or global) you might have some 5G band limitations, and it's also to be taken into consideration which bands your operator is using in your area.

Question 5G not enabled by default

I apologize in advance if the question has already been answered. I searched but found nothing.
And I apologize for my English, I'm French Canadian.
I bought a OnePlus 10 Pro 12gb/256gb, model NE2213 last week.
Everything works fine except for 5G. I only have 4G (LTE) by default but with the 5G settings app I can select the NR option to enable 5G. Everything works fine and I can use 5G without any problems.
When I restart my cell, I again come across the 2G/3G/4G option only, no 5G.
The option seems to be there and functional but it does not seem to be activated by default.
Is there a solution for this?

Besides your APN there's not a huge amount you can do.
Is your phone an actual NE2213 or has it been converted?
If it's the latter then that could explain things..

This is an original NE2213 model purchased from a Canadian website. It was 30% cheaper than the North American model and I read on the internet that the bands were compatible with 5G.
It's not the end of the world because 5G is not really deployed here in Canada but I don't understand why I can activate it via the 5G settings app but when the device restarts it seems to be desactivate.

Oh ok, crazy, an EU device being sold from a Canadian resupplied does shout region change to me and would explain things..

No, I live in Canada and I'm on the Bell Mobility network which uses the n66 and n78 bands for 5G.
This website sells different cell phone models less available in Canada (OnePlus, Xiaomi, etc.) but sells Chinese or international versions.
Like I say I can live with it, 4G is as fast as 5G here for now, but I was wondering if there is a solution to enable 5G directly on boot.
Fun fact, when I set up the cell for the first time, it was showing 5G in the top right but when I was done with my setup and turned off the wi-fi it was rendering 4G and i can't choose 5G in the network options.

Just out of curiosity, what's your expected speeds on 5G and what are you getting on 4G..I don't use 5G on purpose. I simply don't need it as 4G gives my 250Mb +

5G: 69/3 Mbps (d/u)
4G: 56/5 Mbps (d/u)
I'm at home and wifi is off.
Basicallyt, not a big difference, I'm going out today and redo a test to see if the speed is really different.
Do another test outside of my home...
4g : 61/24 Mbps
5g : 141/44 Mbps.
Big difference this time!

It's a key combination from the dialer I can't remember it

Question (solved, phone works, was problem sim-card) Should realme 8 5G show 5g instead of 4g all time?

I should be at 5g area but realme 8 5g only show 4g?
I have compared to other phone, motorola g50, that finds 5g and meteor speed test also find 5g?
But realme 8 5g only find using meteor speed test app, only 4g in same place?
Is this because of realme 8 5g technology it will not go to 5g, although i have paid of 5g to operator monthly?

Also in settings of course 5g (autom.) so should find. I have also written to realme companys eu e-mail but not answer in about 2 days now. (now got answer in 3rd day about, but not much help, something about tips to put auto updates off and change location.. )
SOLVED: i changed other sim-card with paid 5g month, that changed realme 8 5g to SHOW 5G
so problem is other paid 5g month sim-card number, have changed to 4g although paid 5g, so i will contact operator
