Question 5G not enabled by default - OnePlus 10 Pro

Hi there,
I apologize in advance if the question has already been answered. I searched but found nothing.
And I apologize for my English, I'm French Canadian.
I bought a OnePlus 10 Pro 12gb/256gb, model NE2213 last week.
Everything works fine except for 5G. I only have 4G (LTE) by default but with the 5G settings app I can select the NR option to enable 5G. Everything works fine and I can use 5G without any problems.
When I restart my cell, I again come across the 2G/3G/4G option only, no 5G.
The option seems to be there and functional but it does not seem to be activated by default.
Is there a solution for this?
Thanks a lot !!

Besides your APN there's not a huge amount you can do.
Is your phone an actual NE2213 or has it been converted?
If it's the latter then that could explain things..

Thanks for your answer!
This is an original NE2213 model purchased from a Canadian website. It was 30% cheaper than the North American model and I read on the internet that the bands were compatible with 5G.
It's not the end of the world because 5G is not really deployed here in Canada but I don't understand why I can activate it via the 5G settings app but when the device restarts it seems to be desactivate.

Oh ok, crazy, an EU device being sold from a Canadian resupplied does shout region change to me and would explain things..
Are you based in the EU?

No, I live in Canada and I'm on the Bell Mobility network which uses the n66 and n78 bands for 5G.
This website sells different cell phone models less available in Canada (OnePlus, Xiaomi, etc.) but sells Chinese or international versions.
Like I say I can live with it, 4G is as fast as 5G here for now, but I was wondering if there is a solution to enable 5G directly on boot.
Fun fact, when I set up the cell for the first time, it was showing 5G in the top right but when I was done with my setup and turned off the wi-fi it was rendering 4G and i can't choose 5G in the network options.

Just out of curiosity, what's your expected speeds on 5G and what are you getting on 4G..I don't use 5G on purpose. I simply don't need it as 4G gives my 250Mb +
Anyone who needs more then that needs a PC

I did a live test...
5G: 69/3 Mbps (d/u)
4G: 56/5 Mbps (d/u)
I'm at home and wifi is off.
Basicallyt, not a big difference, I'm going out today and redo a test to see if the speed is really different.

Do another test outside of my home...
4g : 61/24 Mbps
5g : 141/44 Mbps.
Big difference this time!

I'd say they're both slow tbh.. in comparison to my 250 or 900Mb on ,5g
Google be your area, but I'm not sure.
Can you force it with the engineering code?

Ok, to enter the EngineerMode you have to press *#899#, but i only have this printscreen when arriving in the menu, I do not see any option to modify the frequency bands.

Huawei Mate S 4g+ issue

I recent buy a Mate S, I'm the first owner. My issue with it is that it wont go on 4g+, it appears only 4g in the right top corner of the screen. I had already changed two operators, first time I was on Vodafone 4g+, and now I'm on Orange 4g+., I taught the mobile operator was the problem but...
I've called the operators, and they told me the problem is not from them because they already have my phone settings in their data base and should had worked.
When I get the nano sim out, and put it for example in a S6 Edge, or S5 Neo, 4g+ connection is avaible, but when i get it back in my Mate S, it wont work.
I've checked already the access name points: Name, Apn, Proxy, Port, Server, MCC, MNC, and they are all the same, like the other phones.
I turned on the 4g+ function from the phone internet menu, the phone restarted automaticaly and nothing hapens, just 4g.
My country is Romania, from Europe and i have the curent firmware CRR-L09C432B361,EMUI 4.0.1, android 6.0
My frustration is that I pay for 4g+ speed, and my phone is brand new. The seller wont change the phone because it has pass 31 days from the buing time.
I've sent it in service, but the only thing they done was an update, stock firmware and new update with the same problem...
Please help me with and advice, i am very greatefull, have a nice day and please excuse my gramatical problems, i don't excelate in english.
This is my first post, please be gentle.

Settings -> The first "More" -> Mobile Network -> The last option "Frequency aggregation" (that must be "on").
Huawei answered me. They told that the Huawei Mate S has 4G+ capabilities, that it can aggregate romanian frequencies carriers (for example, band 3 and band 20 for Vodafone Romania which means the 1800 MHz and 800 MHz bands aggregation). But the speed is limited because the phone is LTE Cat 4 only.
And the most important, the 4G+ icon is a standard protocol of the phone and it is possible to see 4G icon instead 4G+ icon even then the frequencies aggregation is realized.
The last part seems a little strange to me: I have a 4G+ connection, but the phone shows only a 4G icon and the speed is max 150 Mbps because LTE Cat 4 capabilities. For me that is like the phone is a 4G phone only with a menu option that makes you believe you have a 4G+ phone.
I think that I'll go to the service center too.

No 5G connection

Just got my Pixel yesterday, noticed that I don't have any sign of 5G connection even if I have everything activated on my sim and used 5g in my area with a Huawei P40 Pro....
I noticed, when I accessed the *#*#4636#*#* menu that it shows my sim card as sim2. I know that on second sim there's no 5g and I wonder if that's the problem. If it is, is there a way I can solve it and make the phone see my sim (physical, and my only sim) as sim 1?

Yes, tested with P40 Pro, working. Here's the Pixel
https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/9449293?hl=en
Do you have both SIM activated? It says "Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a (5G) phones with two SIMs in use will fall back to 4G networks. To connect to 5G networks, temporarily turn off the SIM that isn't set to use data."

Nope, I don't have both SIM activated. I only have a physical SIM that's in the phone, no Esim and still, it shows it's SIM 2. That's why I asked if I could reset or something and make the only sim I use SIM1, I suspect it has something to do with the phone keeping 5G off for it.
Hello balenax
I have the same issue I am based in Kuwait. They told me that my carrier needs to do some configurations with the manufacturer (Google) and then google will enable it with a software update. The physical sim I installed says Sim 2 similar to yours and once I tell it to use NR only the Network goes away instantly. I will play with 2nd sim and tell you if something happens. Please do update me if you try something

Yes, I think it's similar to OnePlus 8, the 5G connecting is enabled only for some carriers. It's a matter of time (hopefully) but I'm afraid they won't do that for unsupported countries (I'm from Romania and Pixel is not sold here officially).
Our best bet is root and edit the carrier policy files, just as on OnePlus.
I'm not that eager to do that, I'll wait for a while and see, maybe it will be solved by Google and operators.

Yes it's the same for all 5g Androids and unsupported countries, unfortunately. It is really frustrating since the bands are supported. Only Samsung, Apple, and Huawei devices are supported everywhere since they make deals with everyone. I hope this 5g mess gets fixed soon. I am not a fan of rooting my Pixel. I am hoping it will be fixed by beg on Next Year. I just tried installing an esim but it shows up as sim 3 so there seems to be something blocking the use of sim 1. It would be interesting if someone with 5g working to give us a screenshot of the Phone info I suspect that they will be on Sim 1 . If yes is it region locked!

Question Mi 11 ultra no 5G cellular network [ stock global ]

Hello everyone,
I've just upgrade my plan to have 5G support, but the phone does't pick it up ( the carrier says it's ok )..
I also searched manually for networks and I find every network even from other provider but NOT a single one with 5G.
obviously I am in a 5G area, center of Milan, and sim slot 1 ( but I recall that was dual 5G, no? )
It's a bug, broken or I played with some setting disabling 5G?
thanks
EDIT: SEEMS LIKE THAT switching preferred types, airplane mode, while outdoor made the phone to connect t o a 5G antenna...
funny note, it's slower that 3g: 5.69mps/0.59mbps
Might need to enable it

If you have the chinese model (not EU or global) you might have some 5G band limitations, and it's also to be taken into consideration which bands your operator is using in your area.

Question SM-G998B no carrier aggregation, help needed

So i bought a sm-g998b (s21 ultra) from australia (telstra) and came to estonia, and here i dont have any carrier aggregation, volte, vowifi, doesnt work, no 4.5g, no 5g, i tried switching bands to european but it says unsuccesful with all of the bands, is there a solution for my problem? eg changing out the firmware or something else?
Everything is absolutely normal - a quick Google search would have told you the same.
Estonia doesn't have a 4G network (*country coverage is approx 2% for 4G).
- You'll have a few 4G cells in the center of Talinn
- Since 3G doesn't have VoLTE (LTE=4G), everything is in order.
- VoWIFI won't work either, because *most* of the time, the wifi network must be on your carrier broadband box.

You're wrong. Even your link shows, that the coverage percentage is definitely higher than 2%, in addition to the fact that this map only contains community-provided data, which might not cover all areas.
All 3 telcos in Estonia have about 99% of coverage of the whole country, two of which (Telia and Elisa) also support VoLTE for certain phones and Telia (also building 5G using DSS) supports VoWiFi.
You can take a look at CellMapper [1] and see, how many 4G towers there actually are in Estonia.

To OP: Are you roaming or using a local SIM card?

you are completely wrong, estonia have had 4g+(lte-a) since 2011-2012 and coverage is 99.9% of the whole country, i have had volte and 4g+ work on my xperia xz3 since 2012-2013, i have local sim btw, i am from estonia, 2% can be for 5g rollout but thats not the issue right now, issue is i dont have any carrier aggregation on my s21 ultra and on my gfs s20 ultra, i have mine flashed with odin to SEB latest firmware but that did not resolve the issue, when i go into mobile data service menu it only shows one tower connected there and i already talked with my service provider they said that i should have at least 13 masts covering my location with perfect visiblity + all bands covered so i should be getting at least 6-800mbps (according to their test they ran on my location, yes my isp is doing tests on actual on site locations to help clients), so if anyone has any ideas as what could be wrong or should i flash any other rom on it or something? i am out of ideas, i though firmware flash would fix my issue

That's not what I asked. It doesn't matter if it works on mi2 or not. Did you check with your carrier if they support this phone?
Just because the phone has the bands, it doesn't mean your carrier will allow the bands to connect to their network.

Originally my phone is NE2210 (ColorOS) which is converted to NE2215 (OxygenOS) by reseller.

I have the identical problem with my Xiaomi 11T pro. As soon as I make a call my phone connects to "even worse" 2G ( E or H) so I can't use data at all. No. the app/setting to change that isn't available since the 9RT.
You can try the app "Samsung Band Selection" and in there go to "More Network Settings." That opens up the VoLTE/VoWiFi and which network to prefer settings on my NE2215 OP10Pro A.15.
I've been able to force NR tower connection this way to always have 5G. Although, mine isn't a converted NE2210.

So basically NE2215 Only support US carriers for VoLTE
I hope that i can use VoLTE by some custom ROMs in future
This is the last chance for me
If you are brave and do enough research, you can try converting to NE2213, I believe that is EU version. You may have more luck. But I don't think it will help with the bands, I believe those are "hard-coded" from your base model of NE1115. (Thought you were a converted model at first, which leads to more issues.)
I may be wrong though, just trying to provide ideas.
And here's that screenshot of what it looks like for me. Note that you can also change 5G mode in settings to either SA + NSA or straight SA. I can't make calls if I choose straight SA.
It sounds like your issue is more related to your carrier, but I figured I'd share all I've figured out on this topic about this phone, just in case it may help you or someone else.

I just noticed that on NE2215 "5G Only" app shows "Voice Network Type: N/A" before and now it shows: "Voice Network Type: LTE" for NE2213
But still I doesn't the VoLTE option in settings !!

Hello. Can you tell me how you converted NE2215 to 2213, which link you used to download 2213 ROM?
