Question Xiaomi Note 10 Pro - Redmi Note 10 Pro

Hello, to the point. I want to lower my resolution to help snapdragon 732G, for better performance. I have 120Hz display, after wm size and dpi change, will affect my refresh rate? I want to set 720p
Default resolution is 1080.2400.
I want to lower my resolution for better performance, using ADB. Default resolution is 1080.2400, im thinking for a 720. My question, refresh rate will be affected? Will get 120Hz after my changes?

.... Why not simply trying it?

Because i dont wanna brick another phone

Change Display Resolution?

Can you set a lower Display Resolution to 1080p/1440p for battery saving? I think 4K is a bit accessive

MI 9t Pro, Camera settings.

So Xiaomi, appears to have made a, rather strange, decision, to remove resolution settings from the standard camera app.
All you have now are quality settings: low, standard and High.
now, default is High.. I dont really need my images in full resolution in 90% of the shots I take.. They are most often for MMS or other image sharing things, and they take up quite a bit of space and often need to be scaled down manually.
Does anyone know, if the Quality settings, mess with other camera features/settings apart from resolution.. ? I would like my images to be smaller (both scale and storage wise) but I would rather not loose a lot of image quality..
Thanks in advance.
try with gccam porting the resolution is very high i don't Know because xiaomi have this bad setting on stock camera

Question How to force 60Hz in Youtube Vanced and on AOD?

When 120Hz is enabled in settings, Youtube app will run at lower 60Hz which saves the battery (since there is no need to view 30fps videos in 120Hz)
But Youtube Vanced runs at fixed 120Hz - is there any way to force Vanced to also run at 60Hz? By adding vanced youtube bundle id to system table or something?
Also is there a way to force AOD to run at 60Hz (or lower?) - Always On Display runs at 120Hz fixed which is super unnecessary and just drains the battery
Especially the Always On Display should not run in 120hz, that is totally crazy. How do you know that it does?

it does... enable the power monitor in dev settings and you see it
it does always, no idea why
it could run at 1Hz would be enough

enable show refresh rate option in developer settings - it shows 120Hz on AOD

display on Mi 11 is not capable of running at 1Hz, I think 48Hz is the lowest it can go (but not sure even of that or if 60Hz is a hard minimum)
The better choice is to using 90hz rate all the time, good balance between 60/120hz. Seriously i don't see any difference in game/apps between 90/120 but battery life is really different !
Personnaly if you like so much 120hz, you can replace 60hz by 90hz and keep 90/120 insteak of 60/90hz

I tried 90Hz using the method from the video, but it wasn't good - 90Hz felt like it was below 60Hz, not smooth at all when scrolling
So I didn't like this method at all
It would be best if MIUI had option to choose max refresh rate for each app individually
Forcing max refresh rate in most apps is stupid, especially on AOD

LOL
90Hz it's true, and smooth, you can easily see the difference between 60/90

I've followed method shown in the video after which 90Hz was enabled (I enabled refresh rate indicator in dev settings so I can see the refresh rate)
scrolling thru app drawer and settings was choppy at 90Hz - there was micro stuttering, not sure why, but it was there
So enabling 90Hz via this method is not good (at least on my Mi 11)

Guys there no "choppy" 90 hz, 90 hz is truly activated, it's not 120 hz. In my case all is smooth. This 90 hz is like 90 hz purposed on MiuiMix. There no good/true or bad method... It's 90 hz, not 120 hz, so just better than 60 hz. No less, no more

Question X3 Pro keyboard work at 60hz

Hi everyone, I have recently got an Oppo Find X3 Pro. I immediately realized that the keyboard works at 60 hz and not 120 causing lag in writing, and on social networks with autoplay videos it often goes at 60 hz and not 120hz .. is there any way to fix? otherwise you just have to sell it.
Thanks
Is it so important for you to have 120 Hz where they are not really needed?
On the video in social networks, most likely 30 Hz, maximum 60, why do you need to watch them in a single 120? What would the battery drain faster?
Laughter about the keyboard. If there is no 120 Hz on the keyboard, I will sell the phone. It's just cosmically funny.
the 60hz keyboard is real **** .. if it makes you laugh you should get a Nokia 3310 and use that. In any case I found a bug that with a white theme the keyboard works at 60 hz while with the black theme it goes to 120hz without problems .. and then in any case it is wrong to manage the panel from the software since the display should ALWAYS work at minimum hz and as soon as you touch the panel it should pop at 120hz like galaxy s21 ultra. It shouldn't be separated by app causing lag of all kinds. Now I also upload a video that demonstrates it!

The phone adjusts itself adaptively. If the video is 60 Hz, what's the point of displaying 120 on the screen?
This is called optimization, not wasted use of the phone battery.

It is called optimization if it does not cause lag .. the video must go to 60hz but the rest of the scrolling must not go to 60hz but must remain at 120hz as ON ALL the top range, example: Xiaomi mi 11, s21, Oneplus 9 pro etc .. none of these have ever given me problems of this kind. And in any case it does not justify the fact that the keyboard works at 60hz with a light theme and with a dark theme it works at 120hz .. it is clearly a bug and the poor optimization of details. In any case if there is a mod to always bring the joke to 120 hz as on oneplus otherwise you can also leave it alone to comment. Thank you!

Do you own all the flagships at the same time? Mi 11, S21, OP 9 Pro? I doubt it...
So basically you want to have lets say video played at 60hz on the top of the screen but rest of the view should be working 120hz(like YT app)? None of the above manufacturers have such technology implemented to support different screen refreh rate on various parts of the screen. If you feel im wrong - please share the proof.
Besides what is the the problem with keyboard working in 60Hz? Are u really typing faster than 60Hz?
Stop moaning, sell the phone, buy samsung or whatever else u like.

Maybe you don't understand what I mean. I do not want to see the videos at 120hz, but as on all the top range that I have tried and had for a few months example mi 11, s21, oneplus 9 pro, during the scrolling if you meet a video on social networks it should not go to 60hz otherwise it causes scrolling lag for every video you encounter and is annoying. The keyboard that goes to 60hz is an absurd annoyance because writing fast you can see the difference I was used to with the other tops. Then here we talk about dynamic refresh rate from 5hz to 120. But seeing even if you stay still on the home screen or on a photo, the display always works at 120hz does not go down .. but only on unsupported apps it drops to 60hz but not because it is dynamic but because those apps are not fully supported. Anyway, let's finish it here if there is a way to force 120hz on all apps well, otherwise I will sell it and take back s21 ultra, which, however, should not interest you. Thank you

[Question] Pixel 5 screen resolution change fix?

Hi guys,
I used to use this method with mostly all of my devices in the past: LG G3, Galaxy S5, Amazon Kindle Fire tablets (including 8'' and 10''). All of them work just fine. But not this Pixel5!
Using the "adb shell wm size" command. I changes the screen resolution of my devices down a notch, for example from 1440p to 1080p, or 1080p to 800p and so on. Then I adjust the density accordingly. They all turn out the Ok-ish screen resolution and have a much better GPU performance for gaming.
My current S10 has the native changing resolution from Samsung, So I don't use it for my S10.
But with the Pixel 5, there is a problem. The camera cut - out on the screen become so weird and placed on the off center position, and the Pixel 5 is unusable
I really love to use my pixel 5 at 720p or 900p, and I believe the Adreno 620 (snapdragon 765G) on the Pixel 5 will handle game at the lower resolution much much better.
Does anyone have a fix for this? please help!
Thank you for your reading!
P.S: OMG, this was my bad for posting the thread into the wrong sub-forum. It was on the other tab of my web-browser. Thank you very much for moving it to the right place, Moderator!!
Why are you not changing the resolution in the settings like you do on the Samsung? A quick search suggest the Pixel 5 has such an option. You're best doing it the official way to guarantee everything will work correctly.
Because you're changing the resolution and DPI through what is basically a developer option, I think whatever is handling the camera cutout (An app? The WM? Android?) is not updating its position and that causes it to be misplaced. Therefore, I dont think you find a simple fix for this. Sorry.

You must be mistaken the Pixel 5 with other phones, since we don't have the option for such a changing the resolution in the settings.
If you mean the display size? It's just a density change, not the resolution.
Thank you for your contribution anyway!
Hi, have you sovled the problem? I encountered a similar condition.
