Question Rear Screen Mirroring - Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra

Hi guys, so I bought the mi 11 ultra and I'm loving this phone. I bought a china version with global ROM ver 12.5.8 already installed.
I'd like to ask if there's a way to mirror the front screen to the rear screen as I'm using a different camera app that I think has more features than the stock camera app. In that way the persons i take photos of using the other camera app can see themselves while taking the shot.
Thank you.

same, I would like to use it as well and am wondering if there's any possibility of that.

If you change the device fingerprint to pixel 6 it will mirror rear display.

is it always on or you can enable disable with the usual toggle in the rear display settings?

Modded Google Cam on Mix 2

Created this thread to share working settings for our Mix 2 + IMX 386 on the latest Modded Google Cam. Feel free to share your working setups for Google Cam
Version Google Cam V4.0
ROM: Xiaomi.eu 9.22
Settings: See picture attachments below
What doesnt work:
HDR+ with Flash On
Autofocus
Tap to focus
Manual Focus Fix:
Swipe left to go into video mode and tap to focus before going back into picture mode
It have the same main camera sensor as Mi 6 which also do not have autofocus and touch to focus to work.
It's quite annoying when it doesn't have HDR+ and autofocus together, hope it can be fixed in future version

You can manual focus using this workaround: Swipe left to go into video mode and tap to focus before going back into picture mode
Does the new version of Google GCam mod support Autofocus yet?
Has anyone tried the Google Camera v5.1 yet?

I tried to install google camera, installed successfully, but stop working. keep give me error. so I can not run it.
If you want to test the latest versions for Modded Google Cam, check the MIi6 thread related to this, there are regular updates as soon as they are released by the original modders:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-6/themes/google-camera-hdr-t3655762
What I found out: The Oneplus Camera also works on Mi Mix 2.
Also I think this is the original thread for the modded Google Camera: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/modded-google-camera-hdr-60fps-video-t3658552/ and it works for the Mi Mix 2 too.

Does not work for me. Are you on miui or custom rom? Which version of gcam worked for you?
MIUI EU ROM and Magisk + Camera2 API Enabler Magisk Module
how is the mix2 with this, any samples? im considering this because ive had enough of the s8 and want pure android with the performance to boot, where as the s8 just doesn't cut it but the camera is amazing
Autofocus doesnt work with HDR/HDR+ enabled. The camera works fine with auto focus without HDR features. I HDR+ is the reason why you want this mod then we are out of luck, its no better than the default MIUI cam.. may be a tad better NR processing on low light images.

Are you sure auto focus works for the default cam app when having HDR enabled? It doesn't at least for me. Thus I see no difference between GCam mod, Oneplus camera and default camera. Also, manually focusing seems to work without the left swipe.

So, I am writing this based on my experience on my Mi6 (Mi Mix 2 still has a locked bootloader for now), when you activate the HDR+ the autofocus will die, at that point you focus in Video mode, go back to Photo and take the picture.
In that way the HDR+ is working properly and as expected. You just need to keep your hands steady.
Also, on Mi6 has been reported that the Autofocus is working now with the latest version (with some bugs and messing around with the OmniVision module):

I always ran into some kind of errors/problems when trying to use Pixel Experience on my previous Moto G5 Plus - issues such as camera would crash sometimes, or, some things not working properly.
Are you really able to use the ROM with this (G5S Plus) and not having any crashing, missing features, or other problems when using for more than a couple weeks? If so, that's great news. I miss having a phone with PROBLEM FREE Custom ROMs (My Galaxy S3 usually had Custom ROMs available with ZERO problems).

PE 8.1 or 9.0?
When screen is off, does "CHOP CHOP" turn on flashlight as it should?
Does your screen change color at night? "Night Mode", less "blue light" for better sleeping if you look at your screen at night.
System UI Tuner is working fine?
These days I seem to be unable to find *ANY* ROM without multiple problems reported by users in the discussion threads - such a sad situation.
I am on STOCK, but, I really want to try this GCam 6.1 for "Night Sight", but stock ROM won't work because it's not 64 bits

Hi there, I tried MGC_6.1.021_Mido_Nightfix.apk and after taking a shot there is notification "Processing HDR+" that

any recommendation as far of the most recent apk that works the best for the G5S Plus?

This is Gcam 6.2 version, it works flawless, no issues anymore (green tint front cam fixed, Night sight in very low light issue fixed, more)
Link for Download:
www(dot)celsoazevedo(dot)com/files/android/google-camera/f/changelog666/
Need some change settings to make app work flawless:
1. Enable Advanced mode in About settings
2.Change Main and Back camera to Pixel 3 XL
3. go to HDR+ control > Fix device session.
-RAW format = RAW10
-Image format = YUV_420_888
-enable "Use Restart"
Link: imgur(dot)com/gallery/KV5JC0W
*For Ultra wide angle*
Just enable "AUX button" in setting , then in viewfinder you will see a new button on the bottom right.
Note: *enable "Light Tail Switch" can fix Ultra wide len in Night sight. But it will make your photo blurry because of not steady while taking photos, this option need to use tripod. You also can leave it enable in setting then just turn off toggle on the viewfinder . (Recommended turn it off)
Everything is working fine now

Code:
vendor.camera.aux.packagelist=com.dual.GCam,com.Wide.GCam,com.Tele.GCam,org.codeaurora.snapcam,com.android.camera,com.google.android.GoogleCamera
Probably because I have LiquidRemix rom?

Any option to use secondary camera in gcam?

I have read about changing vendor build prop and using gcam with aux support. But I can't find gcam with aux support. If someone can shed a light on this/is it possible to activate the secondary camera would be helpful.
the_dise has recently launched v4.2 which supports aux switch with the help of magisk module. However the secondary 20mp camera output is just 5mp due to pixel binning

You have enable auxillary camera in advanced settings. Primary camera setup number by default is 0. Enable telephoto camera and camera number by default should be 2. Restart camera and you will have two white small white buttons to change camera.
And you need to have a magisk module for all of these things to work....so rooted phones with magisk only.
Just stock rom with cam2api enabled won't work.
By the way, parted ways from stock rom. Custom rom rocks

I did enable "Main lens(camera id: 0)", "telephoto lens(camera id: 2)", " wide angle lens(camera id: 3)", " macro lens(camera id: 4), "zoom lens(camera id: 5)
{Mi A2 only has a primary lens which has a 12mp sensor and a secondary lens which has a 20 mp sensor on the rear side, it doesn't have telephoto, wide angle, macro, zoom) but still I enabled all of them, after installing the "dmgcaux_v1.zip" file with MAGISK. and still the camera app doesn't give me any options to switch lenses or use both lenses together, when I capture an image it says it's 12.2mp, in all modes, no matter which I choose (night mode, portrait, camera) it captures a 12.2mp photo. And if I cover the 20mp sensor it doesn't effect the camera at all. So, the app is not using my secondary sensor. And there is no option to activate it after enabling all the auxiliary buttons.

Which version of Pixel Experience? I'm still on 20200416.
Install camera2 probe https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.airbeat.device.inspector
And report back what hardware support level you have.

All 3 of them have level 3 hardware support

Themes / Apps / Mods Mirror2RearUltra (rear screen mirroring) (quick tile) (1.0.4)

So it took me a couple of days but I developed a rear screen mirroring app called Mirror2RearUltra. It consists of a quick setting tile and nothing more.
Try it out for yourself, see what happens. I don't know how to squash the bugs but the source (and APK) is available on GitHub if anybody wants to take a peek.
Yes, it does mirror the display onto the rear display.

Nothing happens when I start it. I see the headline, but the app interface is blank.
I'm not supposed if that's the expected behavior, but it doesn't seem to do anything regardless.

Thank you.
But please specify which are the requirements:

- ROM ?
These info are not available also on your github repository.

it should be usable without root.
11 min (since that's what the Mi 11 Ultra) shipped with.
MIUI (developed with Xiaomi.eu) but should work with any MIUI version.
nasıl yükleyeceğimi anlamadım
I don't understand how to install it

Great. Works a treat. Thank you.
@GuyWithRootedPhone I was just reviewing your code on github and as a casual android developer with no experience with this kind of thing (dealing with extra screens) it doesn't look TOO hard. I was wondering though, do you think it'd be possible to build an application that could read notifications and display them to the subscreen? I just absolutely hate that Xiaomi only allows it's default messaging and dialer app to display actual details to the subscreen. I love Google's implementation of Messenger and that's my preferred texting app, but with that as default, nothing appears like the Xiaomi messenger. Same situation with Google's dialer application.
If you have any ideas/tips you could throw my way, I'd be very interested in working on such an app that would allow selected applications to display their contents on the subscreen.
beta 2 is out... it takes methods from the subscreen app installed on the Mi 11 Ultra in an attempt to keep the screen on.
if anybody has any ideas or suggestions on how to keep the screen on full brightness without modifying the settings, that would be super helpful.

beta 3 is out, did some tweaks to get it to work on older devices.
if anybody can help me figure out how to keep the screen brightness on the rear display to max. I'd buy you a coffee, I'm struggling to figure out how this all works.

Minor fixes. Fixed bug involving face down sensor.

This app isn't doing a thing
I actually had an idea about using rear screen as an input surface while gaming. For example you can map touches/swipes on rear screen onto an action/touch on front screen area and get another functionality. Your app is quite promising to start with. Thanks for this.

can you logcat the app? i need to know if it's crashing or not.
Works fine on mine. Once installed, just swipe from the top, turn it on, click start now and when you tap rear screen to start, it shows main screen. Sorry can't take rear screenshot.
Rotation doesn't work.
Try put camera in video mode and you will end up upside down on rear display.
I would like this to work, because this is my missing feature from Android 12. That all camera options are seen in rear display.
I can't use android 12 and mui 13 because of one sim not able to do call forwarding.
Otherwise works, would be better if it was written in advance that you need to place it in quick launch.
不错 很好用
fixed the brightness to keep the screen bright at all times.
this is the final release, hoping it works for everybody.
