Question Will there be Tab S8 Ultra 5G? - Samsung Galaxy Tab S8

I saw the article (https://www.xda-developers.com/sams...802.349013412.1644453131-153317060.1644453131) and verizon website that they only carry Tab S8+ for 5G.
Any news on Tab S8 Ultra with 5G?

The ordering page, next to wifi, says AT&T and T-Mobile are coming. Apparently, no Verizon. :-(

yeah I saw that too . I'm hoping for unlocked. Any news on that?

If you can buy from here www.expansys.com you can get a unlocked unbranded version.

The model # of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra 5G should be SM-X906, whereas the Wi-Fi is SM-X900.

It looks like there is going to be an Ultra with 5G for US. But I assume it would be for either AT&T and T-mobile or both. I see that there is SM-X906U model and it is not yet released just like what Samsung's website says, "AT&T and T-Mobile Coming Soon!" when you select Tab S8 Ultra.

So does the 5g work on T-mobile on these 5g models? Looking at the Ultra, looks like it works out to about $1656.18

Here in AUS my carrier provided me with the X906B model

Surprised Samsung US dont have it on their site - Thats disappointing!

Verizon is listed as an option on Samsung's site for the S8+ only, but yeah, neither AT&T or T-Mobile yet otherwise.

I'm still waiting for the S8 Ultra 5G for tmobile. Hell I'll even pay extra for an unlocked one. Not sure why it's taking so long for a 5G version to come out for the US.

Supported Bands : 5G Bands 28/20/5/8/1/40/41/38/7/78/77, LTE Bands 1/2/4/5/7/8/12/13/17/20/25/26/28/32/38/40/41, 3G/HSPA Bands 5/8/3/2/39
For 5G, T-Mobile is using band 71 (600 MHz) for low-band, band 41 (2,500 Mhz) for mid-band, as well as faster mmWave in select downtown areas.

I got the 512gb 5G (16gb ram) from Switzerland

I've been checking the Samsung Shop site, and T-Mobile also. Today I saw that the "Coming Soon" note, as captured above, is now gone for the S8 Ultra 5G. At this time you can order the S8+ 5G from Samsung or from T-Mobile, but only the Wi-Fi version of the S8 Ultra is listed by Samsung (and of course not on T-mobile as they would generally not be selling Wi-Fi devices).
This is disappointing and I hope it's simply a matter of time - but I'm not very optimistic that T-mobile will sign up to carry the Ultra 5G alongside the + 5G, especially after the product-intro excitement has died down.
I think that Samsung was caught unprepared for the level of interest in the S8 Ultra, and this created a backorder delay that is now killing the momentum and the success of the launch. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm now very doubtful that I'll be able to upgrade my T-mobile S7+ to an S8 Ultra.

I ended up just getting the S8+ 5G. Can't wait for the ultea 5G anymore. Worse comes worse if they do release it for Tmobile, I'll sell the s8+.

You have a link? I want to see what bands are supported. The Korean version doesn't support the bands used by Tmobile here.

https://www.galaxus.ch/en/s1/product/samsung-galaxy-tab-s8-ultra-5g-1460-512-gb-graphites-tablets-18384344?supplier=406802
There you go

Damn it doesn't say which band it supports.

VoLte is not working on 7.4.2 Amazon version with VoLTE enabled (T-mobile)

Hi, I want to ask if anyone on T-mobile confirm if VoLTE works on 7.4.2 update because mine seem didn't work. When the network mode is set to auto (2G/3G/4G LTE), the phone will switch to 2G/3G/4G to make/receive call if it was on LTE. I have the "Enhanced 4G LTE Mode" enabled in the network setting but it looks like calls are not passed through LTE but fallback to traditional network

Thanks. The update description for 7.4.2 was misleading. Seem like they added it in the software but T-mobile didn't test/certify it.
This seems to be yet another way of "encouraging" people to buy phones from carriers instead of bringing your own. The phones on the supported list just happen to be phones that t-mobile sells. Some of them are probably t-mobile "exclusives". And it's not just t-mobile doing it: https://www.google.com/search?q=volte+and+byod
Apparently, some carriers are enabling VoLTE (also called "extended range LTE" and "HD Voice") only on specific phones using the IMEI. So even if you bought the exact same model phone as one that they sell supporting VoLTE, it might not be enabled for your phone that you bought elsewhere.
I got this because of the update. Calls complete over HSPA. The signal was 4G LTE before I hit dial:

Yeah, same here. It switches to 2G/3G for call.
VoLTE can not work on t-mobile unless/until Blu successfully completes t-mobile's VoLTE certification process. Even Google has not completed it for the Nexus phones, so I wouldn't hold my breath. I believe that this is also the case on AT&T and other carrier's networks. The carriers only enable VoLTE for phones purchased from that carrier using the phone's unique IMEI.

256GB versions on T-mobile

Hey guys, didn't wanna hijack the similar thread re: AT&T but wondering if anyone has any firsthand experience on either the Dual Sim Snapdragon version with 256GB or the Single Sim Emperor Edition with 256GB. I would put model numbers here but I'm kinda confused from the eBay listings I'm seeing that say it could be one of several (in some cases at random! LOL.)
Anyway, just wondering if anyone had positive experiences. Can't quite bring myself to go from an S8+ to a 64GB Note 8, even with the Note 7 upgrade deal, but I MIGHT consider the 256GB one. Still, wondering if I should hold off and wait for the V30 and/or Pixel 2 at this point. First world problems, I know. What can I say, I'm a chronic early adopter!

might as well. I made patches for the European N950F and now Korean N950N models to have T-Mobile Wifi Calling and VoLTE.
I second the seller Kalm_Traveler linked to (I used same seller. Shipping was less than 24H from Korea>Alaska>Tennessee>Missouri and estimated shipping date was a week later, lol)
As someone stuck on AT&T for work requirements (Land Surveyor) I say avoid AT&T, they're asshats about provising their features to non-AT&T devices.
My HTC One (M8) from their main store here in town went from being a boss to a hoss and has never recovered (issue is on their end, they can't "fix" it because nothing is "wrong", and wouldn't ever pass me over to techs who would actually know something...)

Yes, but my patch isn't 100% working yet for wifi calling, when I add it on a fresh stock re-flash it will work until I reboot or open the 'More Settings' menu in the dialer settings... after that the component that switches calls between cell network and wifi breaks but I haven't figured out why (or how to stop it from breaking).

EE (UK) 5G information released, OP7 Pro 5G also shown for pre-order

A little more than a month before Vodafone's planned 5G rollout in the UK, EE will be launching its 5G service across six cities in the country. The British wireless carrier announced today that it is switching on its 5G network in several areas including London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Manchester, Edinburgh, and Belfast on May 30 with speeds of around 100Mbps to 150Mbps.
Noticeably, most of these cities are the same target locations for Vodafone's 5G network rollout scheduled for July 3. In addition to its upcoming 5G availability, EE also revealed a range of new 4G and 5G plans with Swappable Benefits starting from :
10GB for £54 a month up to 120GB for £74 a month.
The 5G plans include access to the network's BT Sport HD HDR and Gamer’s Data Pass with zero-rated data.
Also, pre-orders open today for EE's 5G smartphone offerings and customers can choose from a variety of devices including the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, OnePlus 7 Pro 5G, LG V50 ThinQ, and OPPO's Reno 5G edition which launched on Swisscom earlier this month. EE also plans to release its new 5GEE WiFi and 5GEE home broadband offerings in the future, though pricing and availability details remain unclear for now.
In addition, EE struck new partnerships to bring 5G experience to consumers including a collaboration with Google to help developers and the Google for Startups Campus in London build new apps that make use of 5G connectivity. It has also teamed up with Niantic as the sole telecom partner in the UK for the launch of Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, an upcoming augmented reality mobile game.
Later this year, EE's 5G service will be available in more areas including Bristol, Coventry, Glasgow, Hull, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Nottingham, and Sheffield. Next year, the firm also plans to release 5G in Aberdeen, Cambridge, Derby, Gloucester, Peterborough, Plymouth, Portsmouth, Southampton, Worcester, and Wolverhampton.

Presumably a rollout of 3rd July means a release for the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G with a similar date.
What does everyone think to those prices?
What about the speed? 100Mbps to 150Mbps, Megabits per second so divide that by 8 for MBps to make 12.5MBps to 18.75MBps. Not exactly stellar.

Packages start from £59 per month for only 10GB although the option above is shown as the "default"
It's a bit pricey, those speeds can't be right though. I can get 270Mb on 4G already lol.
Thought it'd be like 800Mb
Far too expensive, for what we would get.. thy should bloody improve 4G coverage fist before bangin on 5g xd
Who cares about 5G. With a solid 4G network you can do EVERYTHING. Hell, even with a solid 3G/HSDPA+ connection you should not struggle to have long reload times.
I pre order it yesterday for 54 a month 30gb data and 30 upfront payment for phone. I get multi line discount so that's why it's bit cheaper. But warning EE will SIM lock them

Did you get this deal by calling them up? That's a lot better value than any listed on their website. If I could get this same deal I will definitely order it but £69 a month is too much for me.
I find it hard to believe that they will be sim locked, but my work sim is also on EE so it wouldn't matter for me if it was. I assume we will still be able to unlock bootloader though??
EDIT: Sorry just seen the multi-line part!

S20 FE 5G - US Unlocked Version Dual-Sim Capable?

So I just picked up my S20 FE 5G today. Super excited - can't stand all these higher end Samsungs with the curved screens. Never thought I'd say it, but I believe in a flat screen - guess that makes me a flat-screener
I was pleasantly surprised to find out the version I purchased from Best Buy was a factory-unlocked SM-G781U1/DS - and in fact, came with a factory dual-sim hybrid tray (1 nano sim + 1 nano sim or microSD).
However, your typical dual-sim controls aren't available within the configuration panel.
Just curious if anyone elsed recieved their unlocked version with the dual-sim designation in the US, and if so, does anyone know a method to enable the dual-sim functionality?
I'm taking a shot in the dark here - seems like Samsung just released a single version of the S20 FE 5G for global markets, however, may of disabled the 2nd sim slot at a software level. Wondering if changing the carrier designation or something could potentially be a workaround (as in changing the CSC or something).
If this thing is truly a dual-sim US market Samsung S20, that's absolutely wild. I'd probably keep this phone forever.

the US unlocked version is not a dual physical SIM version.
Samsung says there is a eSIM in there but in the US, none of the carriers support samsung eSIM yet, which really sucks.

Isn't it kind of odd that they include the dual-sim tray? Like it literally says "SIM 2" on the slot.

It's the same tray they use for other nations/carriers that support eSim and it doubles as an MicroSD card slot.
Did you figure it out if Dual Sim is possible with this variant?
Carefully watching this thread as well, hoping for a dual SIM functionality, and, maybe, some new info on enabling the eSIM (which is CSC-disabled on other S20 phones in US) and using it as one of the SIMs. Not having any high hopes, though. The tray likely got the second SIM marking simply because one injection mold setup is cheaper than multiple ones, and isn't an indication of a hidden feature.
Exynos is dual sim, Snap isn't, always been case i think
Sent from my SM-G780F using Tapatalk
I am curious too, because I got excited that the sim card tray literally says SIM2, I did insert 2 sims and restarted the phone but it still did not enable the 2nd sim. May be it can be enabled in the ROM? or some other settings!
United Kingdom got the phone on an EE contract though it is sim unlocked, 5G version with snapdragon and mine is dual sim.

I only had the option of 6GB ram and 128GB storage.
I'm having the same issue. I got mine from B&H photos a few weeks ago, configured it with Google Fi.
But when came back home to Ukraine, surprisedly realized that I can't use my local second SIM.
Now it is to late to return. The only hope is to find a way to enable the second SIM or eSIM support.
AT&T told me that eSim is supported? Does anyone have it working?
Does a factory reset erase any changes made in the service menus? I think I changed back any changes I made regarding the LTE bands in the first post first section but my phone has been getting slower than usual download speeds on LTE.
Sorry wrong thread.
I can confirm that my S20 FE 5G SM-G781B is snapdragon 865 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of ROM and it's dual SIM enabled
I know this is an old thread but the dual sim works when you travel outside the US and put a sim from a different country in the sim 2 slot. Verizon does however support the dual sim in US but one of the sims has to be an eSIM. At lest from what I've read. Going to California soon and I'll go by Mexico and see if I can't get the 2nd sim to work with a sim from Mexico. Unsurprisingly you don't have to be in a different country to use their towers, just by it.

I purchased a Galaxy s21 Ultra thinking it will support dual sim. Turns out the dual sim support is for Nano-sim + eSim and the sim track backside doesn't fit another sim nor does my firmware seem to allow another sim.
I know I can purchase a sim tray that will have the place to insert 2 nano-sims ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B092T8V8PW/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A10Z9DOLS71TYH&psc=1 ) but I assume my firmware won't play along.
If anyone can shed some light on the issue please do.
If I purchase the sim tray I assume I will need to flash a new firmware (right?), so how can find a firmware that supports Exynoss . 5G (Israel) and call recording ?
I have an Exynos S21U. Indian unit. It has dual physical nano SIM card and fully supports dual SIMs, 5G (says so in the settings, although the service hasn't begun in India yet) as well as call recording.
What's your model number? Mine is SM-G998B/DS - I'm assuming the DS stands for dual SIM.
Maybe it's a specific hardware, maybe it's CSC based, I'm not very sure. Maybe someone who has tried to do what you propose will be better equipped to answer.

Has anyone tried putting a dual nano sim tray into 998B and can report/suggest?

If it's not SM-G998B/DS it won't support Dual Physical Sims. No Samsung device offers Dual-Sim and e-Sim.

Not true - my S21 Ultra (from Three UK) has dual physical sim, and an option to add a e-sim.
Your device may have dual SIM and eSIM but you can only use 2 at a time. You can have both SIMs of one SIM and one eSIM but not all three. The OS only allows 2 active lines.
*update*
And as previously stated the phone model must end /DS to support dual SIM.
