Great Work!

Hello, many thanks for this rom, it's awesome, I thought I'd never get rid of that Amazon garbage
In case anybody else gets stuck in the remote pairing, just press the home button for 10+ seconds.
Edit
Anybody knows how to adjust display size?

I'm not sure with what do you mean by adjust display size but you can try to change it through ADB with adb shell wm size 1080x1920 (you can change the 1080x1920 part).

I see, I think there's an option somewhere in the Settings (I can't check right now, sorry), it was called OverScan if I'm not mistaken. If it's not there, I'll include it in the next build.

Disabling overscan is typically a setting that can be configured on your TV.
Usually it's where you can also set aspect ratio for video sources, sometimes it's called "Just Scan"

How dumb I feel, I never found an overscan setting on my TV, it turns out the 16:9 aspect ratio does indeed an overscan, just changed to "screen fit" and it did it. Thanks.

It work like a charm , thank you for your hard work @Rortiz2
Everything work for me except Netflix ,could you upload your functional apk please ? since it's not on the Playstore and I get signature mismatch when I try to install the original amazon one (netflix.ninja) , I can connect with the Aptoide one but no video playback.

AMAZING! Smooth operation, nice and clean layout with the launcher present giving the Android TV theme with working playstore and modest settings menu. This rom has totally transfomred this device. Good work
Cheers again Roger + co
Regards

Out of interest is this a full 64-bit os instead of Amazon's 32-bit on top of a 64 bit processor?

Hi, I was wondering whether there is also a rom in the works for mantis, the fire tv stick 4k. If there is, I'd be happy to help test it on my own firestick.
If there isn't, could I do anything to make the sheldon one work on mantis (I know the general answer is absolutely no, so not holding my breath here)?

Unfortunately there is no way this ROM will work for mantis as sheldon's firmware is completely different. We actually tried to boot the sheldon firmware on mantis, but the kernel didn't boot at all (it failed to initialize some stuff). A friend of mine is willing to do 14.1 for mantis, we'll see if he pulls it off.

Thank you for the answer! That would be quite nice if your friend succeed. Had part of the work for 14.1 on mantis already been done, making it more viable than 18.1? And do you know if there are ''fundamental'' feature differences between both (a non-objective term obviously).

Hello, how can you come back to FireOS if wanted/needed? Cheers!

Wow nice work! Thanks for porting Lineage OS to Nvidia Shield Portable. So before I want to do download and install it... Does everything work? The Nvidia controller, Power button, etc?

All the hardware works, yes. Some of the software features aren't ported like touch mapping for the gamepad, wireless controller support, gamestream, etc. But for the normal use cases I have of retroarch, a handful of controller enabled native games, and kodi, everything works beautifully. So, depends on your use cases.
Is this full android or ATV like the one you built for me?
This is a normal build. Probably won't do atv for officials unless the userbase really asks for it. Need to fix gapps before that would even be considered, though. Only 32 installs atm, and half of them are probably me testing.
So, haven't had a bootloop on the new build myself. Anyone having any troubles at all? Seeming really solid to me finally.
When using snes9x ex the performance is way down in comparison to nvidia update 110. The screen refresh rate as reported in the emulator is 48.85hz. If that's correct its far too low.
In addition there appears to be another bug where ui animations stutter and loop back a few frames on themselves. Not sure if this is related to the apparent refresh rate issue.
I would also like to chime in on the possibility of an atv build. Without the right stick mouse functionality of the stock firmware the tv interface makes a whole lot more sense.
Thanks for the build and the work you've put in on this and fixing nvidia messes over the years.
That's great to know!!
Once they manage to port the touchmapper and some other software from this device to it, I'm pretty sure to stick with it forever.
I'm using lineage at my MotoG3 and i'm lovng git!!
Thanks for this. I just installed it. I had been running your 12.1 CM ROM the last week. I decided to try it out after had enough of the buggy stock ROM. I would install apps, and they would (seemingly) randomly disappear. I would install them over and over again. Anyways, your custom builds of CM/Lineage have been working beautifully.
The only thing that I'm really missing is the gamepad touch mapper. I know you've said that you don't use it, but it seriously hurts not having it, because you can so quickly and easily make most touchpad only games work so quickly and easily.

The problem is that Nvidia's touch mapper is mostly in the stock framework. That's code I don't have access to and even if I was interested in trying, I don't have near the time needed to try and recreate it. And tincore is still an option. I know it's a major pain to set up, but it does work.

Gotcha. What a shame. I guess Tincore Mapper it is. It seems like something that probably is really awesome, once you invest the time into learning it. There's probably way more in depth options and things you can do with it, than Nvidia's mapper (but I'll still miss the ease and convenience lol).
Hello,
Are there any plans to get Noughat on board of Nvidia Shield Portable?
thank you
Well, good news. I actually got the portable to boot N / 14.1. Bad news. It's a jerky mess. I took the advice of one of the other Tegra 4 devs and stuffed the blobs from the Jide Ultratablet in there. Flipped a couple flags, and voila, it boots. No sound, no touch, and quite jerky. But at least I finally found a graphics stack that works. I can work with that, find out which specific pieces I need to pull of the graphics stack and leave the other Roth stuff in place. Should be able to make it usable. No guarentees on when, but I'll keep working on it.
Is it somehow possible in this rom tu use nvidia's shield hub app to use gamestream and geforce now? When you install and run the app those options dissapear from the app. I know I can use moonlight to stream, just curious why it doesn't work on this rom, maybe the app detects that it's not an official firmware and disables it or some libraries missing?
Try installing nvidia games from google play.
Yeah tincore mapper is a pita the stock nvidia mapper is way easier.
For the these two platform, which do I download? Cause last time I tried to update, the device was bricked and somehow magically started up today and went back to thinkering with my shield lol
i'm currently on android 6.0.1 with CyanogenMod Version 13.0 Nightly build
Root addon : https://download.lineageos.org/extras

What's different between this and CM13?
Lineage is the continuation of CM. No one is working on CM anymore.
@danny_boi: Unfortunately flashing from CM to Lineage official builds will require a wipe due to a change in signing keys. Then you want the 13.0 arm su zip and one of the arm 6.0 opengapps packages. I personally use micro, which I also believe is the largest that will fit on this devices small system partition.

You can install the app from the play store but it won't show you the options to use gamestream or geforce now. If you want to use gamestream you can install moonlight app.

thanks so much for creating a thread.
any news on the source kernel release state?
ps: can you add a donation button for your profile?
fyi: installed the latest version over the 122 Build with wiping dalvik chache after, works properly without any bootloops.
I have a weird bug... on every startup the Alarm (set for the next morning) starts ringing. This was the case on the 311 build for me as well.
Some (dumm) questions to clarify...
Hey,
i was following the discussion in the other thread - also a big thanks from my side and a really cool!
Questions:
1) I don´t really get the comment to the multi touch problem. Yes there is a link but do i need to actively flash something after installing latest build? Or does it mean there is a work around integrated with the last build with the specific code from the link.
So: Yes - you still need to flash something for multiply touch support OR No - all is good for now just flash it!
2) Sorry, just want to be sure - Google Apps: ARM64 Version right?
Yes right ARM64 / No, its wrong
3) If it happens that there will be also a official Linage OS buid, can i just flash it than without wipe/reset the phone or do i have to install it new? I know we cant say it jet but:
A) You will need to wipe - for sure!
B) Likely you will not need to wipe.
C) It is absolutly open and nobody has a Glas-Ball to find out jet, so 50/50
4) What is "Live Display is software inly" - i could not find out what is meant with "Live Display" via Google excatly. Sorry if it is a dumm question.
Thanks so much for making this development possible. Hope my questions are not too dumm ones and fast and easy to answer.

Hey there!
Everything works as expected (camera bug is still there - as expected), the rest is flawless.
Thanks for all the hard work!
Please (I keep requesting this), could you (or somebody else contributing to the build) add the hardware button switching option (using the already working script from @ru1dev) ? It would be great to have it embedded in the ROM. I am sure many people want to use the Nexus/Pixel/Stock navigation experience (back, home, recents button order).
There seems to be a "bug" in all these builds: Pixel icons (from Open Gapps) don't seem to work (they do in other ROMs based on @xiaobai112220 's sourcetree). Maybe I'm just doing something wrong... don't know - but I can live with that.
Thanks a bunch! Keep up the good work!
Install in progress....

I did a wipe before i installed the ROM but not after.
It should make no difference to clear the old "files" from the previously ROM before or after flashing the system partition, right? I might be wrong though...

Yes. The ROM will install it. Don't worry
Regards.
Great work dude. A tip tor everyone is simply backup system and data in TWRP of both fire os and then this rom and you can seemlessly but slowly switch between the two (if ever required)
Dualboot would be nice hahaha

Yeah, agreed, dualboot would be nice but we need SafeStrap for that

Hell yeah, it's up! Awesome work dude!
Side note: it would be cool if anyone could let us know if the WiFi direct remote fix is working for them?
The fix works for me, but when remote goes to sleep after being idle for too long I have to manually reconnect it, which is a bit of a hassle as involves a few adb commands to get to the correct settings menu.
In an ideal world, we would be using ozwpan (I think?) to store the remote's SSID & reconnect automatically upon a keypress (like Amazon does), but unfortunately I don't seem to be able to get ozwpan to write to to /sys/class/, so unless someone with more knowledge on the subject can weigh in on this matter (any Shield TV devs here? ), we will probably have to use the current method until someone figures out how to unlock the bootloader.
If reconnecting is an issue, I'm sure @Rortiz2 could probably include a script that reconnects automatically (like init.fosflags.sh does), but it'd probably have to be manually triggered from an adb shell command.

Good shout dude. I'd say Tasker can do that... Ie. When awoken from sleep, run adb command
If I need to use a USB device will it work if I turn ADB off or is that dangerous/bricking?

You can turn off ADB. There's no problem.

I have installed the rom fine but can not get remote to pair. I can see it in the searching for accessories screen then it goes to a settings screen. Then I can not do anything. I have tried 3 different remotes. Maybe I'm missing something but I think I'm following the instructions fine. I wait for the searching for accessories screen then hold the home key for 15-20 seconds, the remote shows up then after about 10 seconds it goes to settings screen and I can't do anything. How can I connect through ADB? Thank you for any help.

Hi. Are you using sloane's remote?
It shouldn't show up at the first screen... It should show up at that Settings Screen (Wi-Fi Direct screen).

open to feature request.
How did you do that? S9 & S9+ relased about 2 years and they dont have 120hz display. Is it really 120hz working? Or something trick to do that. Im thinking about screen overclock, or basically animation speed hacked rom.

Are you both G965F? Maybe kernel issue G965F
And are you using stock kernel? 120hz is in KERNEL and not in the ROM, switched out kernel mean no more 120hz !

Scammer? Troll? Sorry mr.king1990
This ROM has the same problems as the other two lineage 17.1 builds in this forum.
One is: the screen goes to standby after the set time (e.g. 1 minute) and wakes up again immediately. You have to manually turn the display off with the hardware button top right.

Curious how to get passed the stupid Google assistant setup and OK Google. You cancel or say no thanks and it prompts for the prior pin or fingerprint log on, then back to the accepting to all the Google stuff, then back to that OK google setup screen. It registers my voice according to the graphics but stays on that OK Google screen or canceling back to the pin and Google setup again, to basically not get past this point. Yes, using same gapps as your OP states. Back to Alexanders latest for now. This is on my 960F S9.

I recommend upgrading to S001142 for safety reasons (since I'm not really sure about the changes Lenovo did between the updates).
tried this rom on a x505f.
A few issues:
1. I couldn't get it to start unless gApps was installed.
2. I also can't get the wifi to work at all.
How do i install the update safely becauss im worrying about bricking my tab

1. I didn't need GApps here. What do you mean "can't get it to start"? Care to be specific?
2. WiFi works OOTB here, but it may be due to kernel (highly unlikely tho as I tested kernels of all 3 tabs on my X505L). Were you on S001142?

I have same issue S001142, no WiFi on X505F, toggle just flicks on/off instantly.
However works fine without GApps (only because it wouldn't install, not enough system space Err70 apparently)
Same problem on my X505F, no WiFi. GApps worked well.
Can any X505F users send logs? I would like to take a look.

happy to assist if you tell me what logs/where to pull them from, someone on telegram group said they were updating the image?
I tried this on my X505L and I couldn't get it to boot using S001142 and TWRP following the instructions exactly, is there a way to log or debug it if it doesn't boot, or do I have to reflash the firmware and hope for a better attempt?
Hi,
I tried it on my X505F and it was not as easy as I thought. I already had S001142 and started with installing TWRP as denoted here:
[RECOVERY][TB-X505F][UNOFFICIAL] TWRP 3.6.x for Lenovo Tab M10 HD
This version of TWRP works on the Lenovo TB-X505F (wifi). For the TB-X505X, see this thread. For the TB-X605F/L, see this thread. For the TB-X606F/L, see this thread. The X606F/L is the second gen M10 and it uses a Mediatek SOC. #include...

Installing Magisk led to some problems, though, as the wipe of /data afterwards prevented me from flashing the ROM ("Magisk binaries not found"). I had to install Magisk again *and* create a symlink from /data/adb/magisk to /data/magisk to be able to uninstall it again (additionally to renaming it to uninstall.zip etc.). Then I was able to flash this LineageOS.
It didn't boot, though, but was stuck at the Lenovo logo (very early boot phase). I flashed it again, but it didn't help. What *did* help was installing Magisk via TWRP Now the tablet booted into LineageOS, but only with an Android popup that some internal error occured and I should contact my vendor.
After having a black screen for a minute or so the LinageOS setup UI appeared and I was able to set up the clock. When reaching the WiFi page, I wasn't able to switch it on (like the other reported).
Attached you find a logcat and the dmesg output. I hope that's what you need.
I would love to try this but i do use bt audio so i look forward to any updates. i dont think ill ever see this thing run anything past android 10, but im not too worried about that, i know its an old cheap tablet. are you able to expand internal storage to an sdcard? my number one complaint about this thing is it always complaining of low storage.
Hay dose anyone have a copy of the stock firmware (so
TB-X505F-S001142-210804_ROW.zip)
I had the exact same experience as this. Ah well... It would've been nice to strip out this Lenovo bloated ROM with something sleeker.
