Question I'm going to throw this phone down the drain - OnePlus 10 Pro

As I wait for the global release of OxygenOS to flash my Chinese phone, I tried installing the new PUBG 2.0 beta to play a bit.
The phone is giving me an Ad plugin warning and once I confirm to Install anyway it's asking me to Verify your identity to confirm this.
This brings me to an account creation page for HeyTap (apparently an Oppo service) asking for a Phone number/Email address but when I try to input my email I get an error message Registering with an email is not supported. Please enter a mobile number instead.[11150...] that appears to be cut.
So basically to install a perfectly fine app I need to open an account with Oppo by providing my phone number. Are you kidding me??? ****tiest implementation ever. Can anyone confirm if this is also the case for OxygenOS?
Is OP not realizing that they're throwing down the drain their core values and advantages over other brands?

Hey mate. The fix is to go to your countries OPPO website, create an account and then use that email

FROYO and Exchange security not really there yet

Hello,
i am running Froyo on my nexus one.
When configuring a new Exchange support, i get:
""SETUP COULD NOT FINISH.
This server requires security features your phone does not support""
Touchdown is working fine and reports the following securities features:
Allow simple password
Password/PIN required
Failed attempts 10
Min length 5
Min Complex 3
Timeout 1800 sec.
Password recovery
So the question are:
1) Which of this securities is not yet implemented natively in froyo?
2) Will it make it in the final froyo release?
If any of you has some inputs, it would be nice to share.
Thanks in advance!
Best

Sorry I cannot help with your problem other than to say that I have exactly the same issue. I am really shocked that Google have not got this fully working. We are hardly talking about a new protocol here!
Whilst I have Touchdown and have done since moving to Android last year, this single problem has stopped my company giving everyone Android phones. Come on Google, get it sorted!
Maybe because the foryo we got is not final? Ever thought of a unfinisched product that you use, is not finisched?

I think the point is that proper exchange support should really have been there from day one.
You just don't build a serious, high end smart phone with out proper integration to corporate mail (read exchange ).
Unless you're Google apparently.

Well, I work and live in the corporate world and use my phone as such a device. I guess I sort of agree with you there about the exchange support, I can't really legitimize why they didn't incorporate this almost-brainless sync method.
Does the security policy of your works exchange server require to have a screen lock pin, specifically mobile device security policies? I noticed, after wiping from Froyo(with screen lock pin prior to EX acct) to CM and then back to Froyo(no screen lock when configuring), that I received an error that setup could not finish, I assume this is because without having a screen lock policy set up on the phone the exchange server will not authenticate to my device. Check that out. Also, this is not a finalized product.
Mine works fine...and I manage the Exchange system here...no problems.
My biggest issue is that Google has provided half-ass support for Exchange, and this version is no different.
You can't even move an item to another folder from the inbox with the stock Froyo.
The Desire Rom has the functionality and ability, best interface and options compared to the stock Android.
The stock Rom sucks honestly...if it weren't for Desire...I would still have my iPhone, even they figured out, licensed and got working properly the Exchange support 18 months ago. Windows mobile devices have had this for 3-4yrs.
My first post! May as well make it contributory.
It is interested to note that one may need a PIN lock set up first *before* adding an exchange account that requires one... I know I haven't been able to get our 2.2 Nexus One's to connect to our corporate Exchange Server for my girlfriend and I.
Let me go change to a PIN lock and see what happens when I try to add the exchange account...
Yep, no go still. "Unable to open connection to server."
They really need to add a Verbose button to these error messages.
still not working
Hello,
I tried setting up a PIN code before starting up the email application.
Does someone knows where to find the email app log file to see what is not good?
Thanks in advance!
best

To be honest, I tried using touchdown (which as great as it is, still lacks a lot of features), then tried using the Froyo Email/Calendar apps... Nothing has ever worked smoothly with Exchange + Android. I ended up migrating my email server (luckly it is only a personal email server) to Google Apps, and I have never been so happy with the performance and stability.
It is a tough cookie to swallow, but gmail is much better then Exchange on Android...

Samsung releases "Samsung Dive"...

researching something else, came across this - samsung just released "samsung Dive" in Germany & UK - an app that lets you wipe or lock your phone remotely if lost or stolen
http://www.slipperybrick.com/2010/07/samsung-dive-remotely-locks-wipes-your-wave-galaxy-s-for-free/
I just signed up for it and tried it. Annoying that they're not enabling the tracking service depending on the country, wavesecure does that and more... If there a way to work around it by a proxy or such?
how do you sign up on the galaxy s? i cant seem to find what its asking for, and there is nothing in the user guide about the galaxy s

you need to sign up via the application within the phones app
where is that exactly? i cant seem to find it, thanks in advance!
From homescreen, go into settings -> location & security -> set mobile tracker
Have fun
You need a Samsung account first. In settings go to the area where it allows you to add various accounts like facebook/gmail and add a samsung account... then go to http://www.samsungdive.com/index.do
then enable mobile tracking ...
login with the account you made etc
full instructions are on that website ...
Thats the problem, in the account settings there is no samsung option, just google, facebook, myspace, twitter and corporate. and the instructions on the website are for the S8500 Wave, not the Galaxy S. enabling mobile tracker in security doesnt work, as again, there is no option to create an account, so even if it is set up, you cant access it from the website.
Since its not available in the US yet.
SIM Checker
Remote Wipe
Where's My Droid
3 apps will do.
annoyingly, i'm in the uk so it is available where i am, just i cant access it
Anyone managed to sign into the website yet. I can't find any option to create an account on my phone

i figured it out.
in contrast to the website, in order to create your samsung account, you have to enable mobile tracker first. then after setting it up do you get the option to make your samsung account, which is the opposite of the information on the website, saying that you need to make the account first and then enable mobile tracker. hope this helps anyone who was stuck
Brilliant, thanks
I'm trying to sign up for an account now, and it's coming back with an error message, saying "invalid birthday" .... which is odd - I'm fairly sure my birthday is NOT invalid - I am fairly sure I have in fact been born!

Had the same error. Just ignored it and signed up without entering a birthday. When I logged in, my birthday was correctly registered :/

When we know Samsung's skills to implement working and bug free software, do you dare to install that piece of software that can wipe off your phone I'm not sure, if I dare.
The service don't seem to work though. Tried sending a remote lock command, and it said it was successful, but I can still use the phone without providing the lock code.
Might be dependant on TwLauncher though. I use LauncherPro
it says it's only for UK and Germany

Is anyone having any luck signing up with the Web Tracker?
I've got a Galaxy S on Froyo, and it won't let me sign up. I fill in all the fields fine, but then get this error: "Unable to sign up. Processing failed IDM_1105"
Any ideas?
All signed up and seems to be working. Sent a location request and waiting for reply now. The register being hidden under the on screen keyboard did have me stumped for a while. Also date of birth is YYYY DD MM so not easy to get right without an example.

[App] Voxtrot Make Free Calls

Search in market for "voxtrot"
This App allows Android users can connect easily
Which makes it extra simple to use - no need to create a new user name, just use your phone number as your ID. No need to add your friends again, just use your phonebook.
To call just dial the number as usual. This App connect the call for free.
Note: Application force closes on gingerbread so i cant check it fully please try it and give a Reply
I am Sorry if anything wrong.
Thanks for your message, I'm actually one of the guys behind Voxtrot. You may have forgotten to say that we do provide free calling, but only if both persons are registered on the network.
Voxtrot was successfully tested on the Nexus S sporting Gingerbread, but never on a customized HD2, hence possibly the force quit issue.
Anyway I'm happily gathering feedback so if you have some, don't hesitate.
@romzzz
Thanks for your valuable Information and i also in same issue "Force Close"
anyway i hope someone will find a solution.
How it works? In europe too?

Email timeout error in certain apps

Hi, I have a problem.
I made a homepage for a friend who owns a pub. The webhosting package includes an email account (e.g. [email protected]<domain>) which works fine in browsers and Windows Mail on PC.
But he also needs to have it on his phone that he can get push notifications if someone wants to book a table, but he always gets a timeout with the apps he actually wants to use (Outlook or Email - Lightning Fast & Secure Mail).
On a Samsung S10 -> timeout too.
Then I've tried a random app which covers you in annoying ads and it works like a charm.
Email entered, password entered, everything's fine.
On my Samsung S7 edge (Android 7.5) the same. No problems.
Does anyone have a solution for this issue or knows why this happens?
Huawei P20 Pro EMUI 9.1
Thanks in advance for your time! I'll check the thread again later, need to go sleep.
Did you try to check with the web-hosting support? If it works in some apps but doesn't work in others I bet it's related to certificates/TLS versions/ports and they must be aware of this issue.

Questions for Chinese model users only

Hi
This is a post directed to anyone who owns/has purchased their X50 5G from China as I am trying to confirm that they have the same issues with their phone as me, or whether my issues are specific to my phone, so thanks in advance!
I've run the phone from factory reset a few times as I've encountered a few problems or have noticed differences to what the user guide says to what the phone displays within the menus.
Most importantly (for me) is the fact that their is no Google Location History available. Even before adding an account, if I go to Additional settings > Google > Account services > Location > More Settings I get access to Emergency Location Services, Google Location Accuracy but Google Location History is greyed out and so cannot be tuned on when logged in, the device is not registered for location history.
Also, once Google Assistant is installed and set up, if the Home button is pressed for the allotted time, it may appear, but no voice recognition works, even when the app is selected as the default option. Also, I've noted that within the user guide and online, I've seen an option within the Convenience Aid (although on my phone its called Convenience Tools) menu called Awake Google Assistant, but my phone does not have that.
Maybe it's just that I haven't set the correct permissions as they are way more complicated than standard Android settings, but that is not necessarily a bad thing.
In fact there seems to be a lot of differences between what the user guide says and what's actually on the phone.
I've also noticed that conference calls do not seen to work when I get two calls and try to merge.
Can anyone provide any useful comments to either say that they experience the same, or it works from stock, or how to resolve any of the above?
Cheers
I have this same phone same issues, plus you can't set google messages or any other messaging app as default, you can't remove there app market. And NO GOOGLE DISCOVER ON LEFT SWIPE SCREEN.

Wow, i might be opted for the same. This Chinese models or best to say it...Realme fails as a brand. It's their responsibility. It's pretty much obvious they sell stupid products. per se they have their own brand or the **** they care about global consumers..ad why they make it available outside their country.
Realme is a stupid brand nothing more. I'll try to sell this trash too.

Did you tried long press VOL- + Power button till power up ?
I just remembered there're some functions could recovery the phone over WiFi in the factory recovery mode.
BTW, In your case, I certainly unlocked my RMX2051 through In-depth test apk file for X50 Pro version.
If your don't mind, maybe you could post how did you recovery your phone in the future.
Good luck.
