Any recommendations for debloat ? Would love to disable right swipe on lock screen (hate that random wallpapers from Chinese source)

Maybe we can start to accumulate tips and tricks about this phone ? Like change launcher, debloat using adb...

is easy to change a launcher....but it would ask you to login to vivo account.

Yes i discover this in x70Pro thread... I watch a youtube video from Ben's... seems he didn't know about this method...
Waiting mine actually.... more feedback when it will be in my hand.

Any way to get the Vivo account? Also Telegram notifications don't work. It doesn't show notifications on the icon as badge nor on the notifications shade. Any help please?

Is vibrating but you right no notification anywhere

You have 2 steps i see on video :
• Battery Optmisation parameter
• When u switch between, you need to lock app not be in part of Vivo Freedom My Memory for no reason...
Still don't have mine, then it's theoritical, i still have Vivo Nex and same extra optimisation...

yes i just get vibration.. No sound no notification in notification shade.. Locked the app removed battery optimization still no luck.
Also KWGT does not work.. can anyone confirm?

I purchased this device also, so far the build quality and specs are amazing! As for the UI it could be better, or I am just not used to it as this is my first Vivo device.
One big issue I am having is I can not send MMS messages, APN is all correct by default even reset the APN and I have allowed every possible permission and single permission possible. Even removed battery optimization which is key.
As for launcher I do get an option to choose Nova but it does not stick, always goes back to main launcher when hitting the home key

I read you need to force multiple time to validate "alternative" launcher....

Ah so it is the issue regarding third party messaging apps. I noticed it does work with the default messaging app but not with Google messaging. Man that sucks!
This being my first Vivo device, curious if these can be bootloader unlocked and rooted?
I do see the oem unlock option in developer options.
Be sweet if this device gets some good support on xda

Can you check if KWGT widgets work?

They work so far

So, I have figured something out, and maybe we can brainstorm to fix this. So I can use Pulse SMS to send MMS messages, however when I receive them, the phone gives me a error that says : Modify the Default Information. and then resets to the stock messages app and then get the message. How can I prevent that. So I need to ADB and change some permissions or remove the stock app entirely...???

Help guys I'm on Verizon and can't send or recieve any mms on stock app or textra. Regular sms does work fine. I'm frustrated may have to sell this phone as it won't connect to 5g in Arizona either. Can we download a voice mail app?

[APP] Widgetsoid2.x ... 3rd party Power Control Widget, and more... way more!

Just thought I'd pass this along. Before the NS, I used the hell out of "Extended Controls" ... Sadly, most of the toggles I would have liked to use do not work with the NS (2.3 compatibility issue?). Emailed the dev and got responses right away saying it will be updated next week. Next week came and gone ... came and gone again. Dev is probably behind with RL stuff so sooner or later it will be updated. In the mean time, I found an awesome alternative with more features ... and its free.
Widgetsoid2.X
Highly customizable power control widget ... and can even be configured to add a power control widget from your notification bar drop down.
Yeah I really like widgetsoid. Since cm team still hasn't got the flashlight working I use its flashlight widget inside the notification bar. Works great.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
great app, been using it for a while now. but how do you put the widgets in the notification bar? can't seem to find it
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
ohh that's a nice find
Odd. Both my wife and I use extended controls fine. I find if you restore it via Titanium, it doesn't work but if you do a fresh install of it, everything functions great. Good find though.

The widget isn't really not put in the notification bar. It puts the image of your widget there but when you click on a power control it brings up the power control in an overlay of your screen where you then select which power control you want to turn on/off. For me (not short on screen space) its no quicker than using regular widget on the screen.
thanks! I've been using extended controls even though it wasn't fully operational w/gingerbread. Just dl'ed widgetzoid and bluetooth works! Liking the vertical option too..
I was really impressed by Widgetsoid and its developer 2 weeks ago. I found a bug, emailed the dev, and got a response in like an hour. Within like 2 hours of emailing him, he tracked down the bug and incorporated a fix into the next release. Now that's service.
we reported it a while ago
http://www.mobiflip.de/2011/01/andr...-benachrichtigungsleiste-einfach-nachruesten/
(p.s. google translate is your friend )
The thing I really like is how easy it is to edit existing widgets. Saves a lot of time if you just want to add or remove something from a power control type bar
the app is good, no doubt, but it's a major pain in the back to configure
some options are no longer available after you hit apply
so if you ever want to change them again, you can't (for example the invisible option, there are a few more that are no longer accessible after it was saved)
and the only alternative is to delete it, and create a new one

Guess that's why I'm sticking with extended controls. Profiles are so easy to edit.
but once you master this App, it's a big treasure chest!
once everything was properly setup and configure, it easily replaced 7+ apps
TeslaLED
tons of On/Off Widgets
Ace Volume
Battery info
crap load of other ones i uninstalled
i setup 4 rows, maybe gonna add 1 more for 5 rows for Apps
that's the nice thing about this app, you can create custom shortcuts to make it launch your most used apps, from the Notification area
i simply love it

PS: No problem with applying profile. And if you do have, just email the dev, he will answer and fix.
are you guys able to enable/disable Data with Widgetsoid 2.x on Nexus S using Gingerbread 2.3.. (unrooted?).
Most items work, but this one does not toggle Mobile Data on/off on my phone. I dunno if this is a security limitation right now with this OS.

Yeah I noticed this too. Was a shame, cause this is the main reason I was after this. I guess this functionality of directly enabling/disabling from the task bar cannot be enabled in stock roms without direct framework changes.

Hi,
Widgetsoid need root only for the reboot toggle
For the data on Nexus S just restaur your apn, check your data is enable and go to global preferences of widgetsoid and check "disable all apn".
Now it have to work.

Android don't allow event on notifications it's an android limitation not an widgetsoid error/limitation.
On HTC rom it's works directly because HTC have modify android source code to allow this. HTC users are lucky. Next version have an option to disable popup after click on notification.

About the LED Icon Editor app for the LED case

Hello. I just got a Note 8 with the Samsung LED case. So far, I'm loving both and the case looks so beautiful. However, the icon creating app, 'LED Icon Editor', is not very good. It's quite difficult to draw the icons if you're not very good at drawing (I suck).
Here's the interface:

Has anybody find any app or online guide that can be useful to design different icons. For instance, I use WhatsApp a lot, and so far, every attempt to draw the WhatsApp icon has been a total failure so I'm just using a W, which also was not very easy to draw. So I used something like this as a guide but it won't work for icons just letters and common symbols
The guide I've been using:
Another issue I have is that if I reset or flash my phone, I will lose all my custom icons. Is there any way to backup the data for this app without root? (I'm thinking maybe backing up a particular folder).
Thanks.
I would also like to see what others have done. I have created a few custom icons for simple things like email and twitter. I tried doing one for snapchat and it never turned out good so I just gave up.

These are the ones I have created.
I started to play with this, but it seems you can only set it for certain contacts. Is there another place you can set it per app? For example, 1 for any texts, 1 for emails, etc.

Yes this is possible. You can choose contacts , next to that you can choose apps. Look at my uploads and click on the word next to 'personen'

Apparently you can't set it to the text app though? I see multiple apps listed, but no texts apps are in that list. Same with the Phone app.

That is correct. However you could try selecting contacts. I do not now if this will work.
For messaging, you could try to download a third party messaging app and give permission to the app to receive all messages, then you could select that app and give it a different led icon.
This is all in theory I did not check it for you.
Let me know if it works

Mate 10 Pro Lock Screen status bar issue

Hi guys, I've been having an issue recently with my Mate 10 Pro specifically with the status bar no longer showing new notification icons when on the lock screen.
Here's an example:
While locked:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
While unlocked:
I have tried everything to fix this with zero results. I've made sure to have my theme set to magazine unlock which showed no change.
It's a minor issue but I did rely quite a lot on those icons when quickly checking my phone.
I'm curious if anyone else has had this problem.
I think it's 'normal' EMUI behaviour :
When locked, you'll have only 'new' status icons notification.
As soon you unlocked these ones became 'old' and are not shown anymore on lockscreen...

That seems really odd considering it's only started doing this a couple days ago.
When I receive a new notification they don't appear on the status bar at all, I have to unlock my phone to check and they then appear.
Did you whitelist these notifying apps on EMUI battery manager ? As if not EMUI could 'freeze' them when in lockscreen and unfroze then when unlocked....

I haven't used any backup recently. I think the issue stared when I had initially changed themes, which disabled the "Magazine Unlock" Lock screen style. But when I switched back the notifications still didn't appear.
As an Update: I've also noticed some apps, such as Discord, have stopped giving notifications for messages entirely. I have to open the app and check to check for any new messages. I have no idea how it's stopped working.
Daxramas - I have the same issue as you.
I use BlueMail, Textra and Whatsapp, and none of those notifications show up on the lockscreen. I asked in another thread, and I was told that only notifications from stock apps appear on the screen. Is Gmail a stock app? Possibly not. Maybe if you used the stock Email app to look at your Gmail messages, then you would see the notification. Though the middle envelope icon on your status bar is from the email app, right?
There's an update for the US variant, 123, that claims to fix notifications on the lock screen. I doubt that it will work. And I see that you're in NZ, so that won't help you

Notification LEDs

Guys, silly question. Do we have any notification LEDs? Can't find it. Please help. Hahaha.
I use this : Always on Edge
Watch some youtube videos on it if you feel its a little complicated or overwhelming but once you get used to it, it's really easy. Works great. Make sure to set it to manual in Huawei's app launch section so that it can run constantly.
Problem with that is that I first have to tap the apps overlay away before I can fingerprint unlock my device, is there a setting so it works at once as before?

And can you set it up edge lighting to repeat every minute or so until you read or dismiss notification?

My personal experience, there's hardly any drain. I set it to turn off at 12am and turn back on at 7am. Sometimes i see 1% , sometimes i dont even see it in the usage tab. Maybe because i don't have many incoming messages but hye, it's really battery friendly.
Yes, you can set repeat, max 2 minutes. So every too minutes it will remind you.
Check the settings of the apps, there's plenty of control.
Also make sure to turn off automatic power management for that app else the p30 pro will put it to sleep.
I'm not able to use it anyway. I use NoLED fron XDA and it works well.

NoLed app can be obtained via apkmirror but development for it has be halted. Also to dismiss the notification, you'd need to swipe up. Would have been nice if they added double tap to dismiss or something similar.

It should bring you straight to the permission menu when you click it. If you think you messed something up, then clear data and cache for AOE. Re-launch the app again and do it step by step. Works here on my end without any issue.
The access notification access, enter settings and search Notification Access, then give permission to AOE.

Question Android chat bubbles option missing in apps on Samsung devices?

Is this a Samsung thing where they intentionally butchered this feature except for in their own messaging app? Floating bubbles is set in the notification settings but when I search for the option in Facebook Messenger, all I get is the option for the crappy chat heads. On my Pixel 6, I can set this option. I even tried copying over the exact apk that is working from the Pixel to the Samsung phone and the option is still not there.
This?

No, the bubbles option. In Settings -> Notifications -> Advanced Settings -> Floating notifications there are 3 options: Off, Bubbles, and the one you have in your screenshot. I am wanting bubbles so that all my conversations across all my apps are grouped together. I have bubbles enabled in that settings menu but the option still doesn't show for me in any app besides Samsung Messages.

Sorry, it's disorienting when you lose your preferred IU... I know.
I hate that interface... so I was happy to ditch it.
Can't even find it now, I may have package disabled it almost 2 years ago.
Not sure if it can do what you want.
Play with it... Samsung's are very customizable.

That particular option does what I want on phones made from different manufacturers. It seems Samsung is blocking it somewhere. I was hoping that someone would have some idea of what package blocks it so I can disable that. Perhaps that is just something that will never work, kind of like visual voicemail in the native phone app on a Samsung deice.
Why not just use Google's Messaging app, which has these features and is also pre-installed?
I couldn't easily see what is Samsung's or Google's Messages App ('Berichten' in Dutch), but both were included with OneUI 4.0. See attached picture: left is Google right is Samsung Messaging. Google allows attachments.

I think you may have misunderstood my meaning. Those apps are the only ones that work with bubbles on my Samsung phone while on other phones I can use other apps with it like Facebook Messenger.

You are right, I didn't understand the Bubble thing. Should have read better. Also I think I mixed up your thread with other in S21 + forum
Haven't tested in OneUI 4, but bubbles for FB Messenger / Signal did work for me back in OneUI 3.
Besides setting Floating notifications - Bubbles, also try FB Messenger - App info - Notifications - Notification categories - Show as bubbles - All / Selected only.
Supported apps also seem to have a little icon in the notification, I assume it allows bubbles for that specific conversation.
