Question Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra with Huawei Watch GT2e problems - Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra

Mi 11 Ultra is my first Xiaomi mobile. Before that I used the Huawei Mate 20 Pro with the Huawei Watch GT2e. The watch worked perfectly with Huawei mobile phone, but the watch does not work so well with Xiaomi mobile.
I called customer service at Huawei and they advised me to reinstall the watch.
1. Huawei Mobile Services (HMS Core) .apk
2. Huawei App Gallery .apk
3. Huawei Health from App Gallery.
I have also installed HMS core, App Gallery and Health App on Second Space.
The features that I miss are now that I can no longer turn off the mobile alarm and no longer receive alerts from Second Space at all.
Have any of you experienced similar problems?

Okay, it looks like no one understood my question. I can put it another way.
Do any of you use the Huawei Watch GT series, Xiaomi Watch series or Xiaomi Mi Band?
Do you receive alerts from the programs installed on Second Space?

I know it's not any help but I do use a GT2, LTN-B19 version but don't use second space with my 11 Ultra, so there are some of us using Huawei watches with Xiaomi phones.

Same as you

I use Second Space for job sim. I only receive notifications from the profile I was last logged in to. For example, if I used Second Space and put the phone in my pocket after use, I only receive notifications from Second Space on the phone and not from First Space. That was not the case with Huawei's mobiles. There I used to get notifications from both profiles without any problem and at the same time.

You possibly won't receive notifications from an app installed in the second (work) profile if the same app isn't installed also in the personal profile.
So install the app in the personal profile too and enable its notifications in the settings, even if your're not actually using that app in the personal profile.
This is a known workaround for the limitation in some android versions.

I have Outlook and WhatsApp in both places that I need notifications for...
I can do well without Workplace, Work Chat and other job related products.
The problem is that if I do not get notifications from Outlook and WhatsApp anymore. Then the whole meaning of dual sim and Second Space is gone and I have to use extra work mobile which is tiring to carry around.

I have two Amazon apps installed, one for personal buying and one in the work profile for business buying (2 different Amazon accounts).
I have no problem with notifications.
I run official EEA Rom v.13.0.7 on official MI 11U european phone, BTW you didn't say which is yours.

Just to joke with the acronyms... EEA is not completely corresponding to EU...
Countries in the EU and EEA
The European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA) - which countries are in the EU and EEA, the single market and free movement of goods, capital, services and people
www.gov.uk
The SKAEUXM Rom is called EEA Rom.
Moreover also a Xiaomi.EU (chinese modded) Rom exists that sometimes is confusing...
BTW, I have only the Amazon app in the work profile, so unfortunately can't help with Huawei smartwatch and apps.

Chinese Rom Down Sides for Global Use

I'm almost ready to pull the trigger on a 256/8 varient of the k20 pro with the intention of just using the phone as daily with the Chinese Rom in A urope ,I know there will be other roMs but I just can't be arsed with all the modding about, getting too old and too busy to be messing, but love the look of the phone specs etc
Is there any downsides to using the Chinese rom,Im happy enough with the lack of band 20 and I understand the phone will get OTAs and there is English support
Are there any other problems besides the bloat which should be easy to remove, bit of fiddling for play store too I think
Should all apps work ok etc or anything else I should look out for
I think Europe version should be mi 9t pro, if you want to flash Chinese stock room, unlock bootloader first, fastboot flash Chinese full package

No no no,read my post before giving a reply, I was enquiring about the Chinese rom,the kind of disadvantages to using it in Europe because there is no 9T pro,no global rom as yet
Im using it Croatia, there is lack of the band 20 and you manually must instal google playstore and services. Other than than that there arent any dissadvantages
A friend that had chinese miui on mi8, told me that he had some problems with gps, and also it would have low signal strength, and those where fixed with global rom.
Gps works fine, and signal strength depends on coverage off cell towers. I can say that it has same signal strength as poco atleast where i live.

I would imagine GPS is particularly good with the new dual band GPS it has.
i'm more less in the same page, im eager to buy the Chinese version, but not sure if i wont give up of B28, coz its make a lot of diff here in Brazil.
Do you guys think this band will be available for future update, like previously happened to Mi9, it didnt have band 28, but its got now. Maybe its only software dependent, right?
No Google Keyboard (English) in China ROM K20 Pro
I could not see the Google Keyboard that can be used across apps even after installing the Google Services in my K20 Pro Chinese Version.
i am also in your situation , i can't understand why there isn't a k20 pro chinese rom review to explain exactly which are in DETAILS the difference , we know about play store etc
@GANESHBRUCE can't you you install any keyboard from play store ? (including google keyboard) ?
I wanted a chinese rom device, but ended up buying a k20pro with fake indian rom.can i flash chinese rom without a issue?
I bought the the Chinese rom 256/8 and I the amount of bloatware is insane! At least I have uninstalled 30 apps, some can't be installed, this was a turn off for me, but now I just have to live with it. Other things all good all fine.
But I want to ask experts here, is there any privacy issue with the Chinese ROM? With this amount of apps I feel like they have all kind of data monitoring just to shove their adds in my face, so is there anything I must do? Block something or stop specific service?
One can use the Chinese ROM without any flashing but you have to live with some Xiaomi app and some minor Chinese in some places even after switching to English.
There are no major issues as far as I know.

Third party app paid Xiaomi a price for their apps to be pre-installed. The only ad coming through may only be from Xiaomi MIUI.
I've used it for a week and everything worked just fine, there was some cool features that only works in chinese rom wich was MI AI wich pre loads apps and its basically like google assistant (pre loading apps was cool), it had a special keyboard only for inputing passwords and there's more! the downside was because i installed google play store by an apk (maybe if you install gapps.org it fixes it) it coudn't sync my contacts and other things (real big problem for me) and besides the stupid chinese apps there's some MIUI apps that doesn't change with the language like the calendar and others i don't remember...
Try it for youself, at the moment i'm using mi globe rom, wich is based of the chinese rom + features and debloated.

You can download GBoard (Google Keyboard) from the Playstore and set it as your Default keyboard in Settings.
I used it for a while but had to switch to the India ROM (kinda Global I guess).
Honestly the English version of the China ROM (stock) was fine with me but Google Home wasn't working fine because it mixed up English and French (phone was in English/ Google Home in French), my wife couldn't use it because she doesn't speak English. The other downside was the MI "Browser" being launched by default for all external apps including GMail, very annoying for me.
Other than that everything was working fine, and I liked being able to see the new features (like the new multiple shot in the camera not available in India). The bloatware was kind of ok with me, except MI AI which was sometimes confused with Google Assistant by the phone in certain apps/ devices (Bluetooth).

European (C432) Mate 40 Pro native GMS for Google-login (non-root non-virtual) Euro-variant International [NOH-NX9]

I will keep this post updated if working solutions are shared.
Native Solutions (with push notifications, location services, google login):
None so far.
Virtual Machine environments:
Lighthouse (Only working for C636 region, not C432 euro-edition)
OurPlay (Chinese-only interface, but uses system languge for installed apps)
DualSpace (loses ability to install apps/updates after a day)
VMOS (old android v7, with virtual root and Xposed)
VPhoneGaGa (old Android v7, with virtual root)
Since many threads have confusion about methods which only work for Chinese version, please help confirm GMS installation methods for the international version, so we can test properly. Because Google apps are what many of our coworkers, colleagues, and friends use we unfortunately can't just abandon them. Therefore, only solutions that work with login to Google services (not just GMS but actual Google authentication, like for Gmail, Google Voice, YouTube Music, Meet, Chat, Maps, Calendar, Photos, etc.) will be accepted.
Apparently MicroG only works for apps which don't need to use Google login, has anyone found a real solution? Is there any downside to install Chinese firmware onto the phone (will OTA updates still work)? https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...o-international-mate-40-pro-possible.4196699/

I think we will have to wait a while for a Way that works on the International Model, there's literally no working Way right now.
I got used to use Outlook for my Gmail Account, YouTube Vanced which is better then the Normal YouTube App and i do use Google Maps but i never logged in there so it's not a problem for me. But of course a working Way would be nice.
And afaik you can't just Flash the Chinese Rom so easily...
I'm still wondering why the International Version is so much more locked up Software wise then the Chinese one
Hi..
I have the international version and you are right, the Chinese method does not work with this model.
I have sped the last 7 days with this phone and almost tried all combinations of installations and nothing works.. Seems I can't get the App "G" (whatever its called) to work my the device and I don't want to downgrade the OS. I just can't believe that a giant like Huawei just gave up and didn't leave any backdoors for us to use the phone. in my opinion, Huawei mobile phone business is doomed. its unfortunate for a perfect phone to lack basic apps just because of Google and US gaining on the company.
Hopefully, things will change once TRUMP is pushed out of office soon.
Do you have guidance on the last version of Maps ??
I have it just on 10.49.3 version ...
Huawei is way far from being doomed, they are very successful in Asia where nobody is obsessed with Google. There is life without Google but it's not as comfortable as all western users are used to.
Actually I would blame Google for being so closed and not allowing proper app support without GMS and developers that rely so much on Google services like Firebase. How is it possible that a banking app is not able to function without GMS? Or Microsoft Teams still complaining that GMS is not available... Big part of the world is too dependent on a couple of US based companies...
Also even without Trump there is a very small chance that anything will change in regards to US ban and sanctions on Huawei.
App "G" is called LZPlay. Here is a good read what it actually does:

I am quite comfortable without GMS and I still use some of the Google apps. WebApps are actually quite decent: Google Fotos, Google Drive etc.
Now when it comes to GMS implementation on Huawei. Not sure what will just waiting change, who do you think will change anything?
Only way to install GMS without Google approval would be to use MDM (mobile device management) app that functions similarly to LZPlay but is owned by a developer who is not hiding as it is a case with LZPlay. But I don't think that Huawei will now approve a signed build of any app that will try to use those APIs mentioned in the article.
In China they can do whatever they want with the FW but in rest of the world they comply with the ban. Also it seems that Google specifically needs to white-list device fingeprints. MicroG should in theory work with new Huawei phones even including log-in but it does not, exactly due to the missing white list.
RTFM, push app developers to work with HMS and educate yourself on what is really the problem. Alternatively just wait

Totally disagree that in Asia nobody is obsessed with Google. China doesn't represent Asia. Most countries outside China is using GMS on daily basis. They use G Suite, Gmail in business, Especially during this pandemic time, Google Meet is one of the frequent used App for communication. Not to mention many travelling apps, banking apps are relied on GMS.
You may able to survive without GMS, but just like itchiness, it won't kill you, but it just annoys you all the time.
That is a good statement. But the situation is as it is and simple peasant users like we are will not be able to change it
Any updates on this?

Question Is there anyone using Mi 11 from China with Chinese ROM?

I ordered my Xiaomi Mi 11 from China and it arrived at 9 Jan 2021.
This is my first time using Xiaomi Phone with MIUI with Chinese ROM.
So some global Apps and user experience are not really good for Global users.
So I want to share some experience and get some information from Mi 11 Users.
Whoever want to know about Mi 11
Please, feel free to comment, I'm too active to discuss about Mi 11.

I have had my Mi 11 since January 15th.
Because I only started the bootloader on January 24th. can unlock, I use the China ROM. You can use them in Germany without restrictions. I uninstalled all bloatware and deactivated some Chinese apps. All Google apps run after just sideloading the Play Store.
Nevertheless, I will flash the Xiaomi.eu, because in addition to the system-wide German language, faster updates are also important to me.
I have unlocked the bootloader, but I don't even know what I can do except root. I cannot turn off forced encryption and verification at startup

I don't have issues with Google messages. You might need to go in the permissions of the app and upgrade some privileges though. I don't know if it's Android 11 or the fact that it's a Chinese ROM but I found some of the Google apps don't install with the required minimum privileges.
Also you need to make Messages your default SMS app. Settings->Apps->Manage apps then top right hand corner 3 dots -> Default Apps.

Xiaomi.EU is based upon the Chinese rom though. So it is indeed the Chinese rom who receive updates first, and then it gets picked up and somewhat cleaned up over at xiaomi.eu.

Question MIUI phone, contacts and app search

I have swaped my broken mi 10 Ultra for a mi 11 Ultra global.
Happy so far but missing mainly 3 things from the .eu rom.
Phone app (record call etc)
Contacts app
Spotlight search (app vault)
The Google discover search when I swipe on the home screen feels really useless since I only use the search for find my rarely used apps quick.
Tried install xiaomi phone and contacts from apk mirror but they crash upon launch.
Is there any substitute for this? Or is it recommended to just unlock bootloader and then flash .eu rom?
Thanks

Question EU vs. Chinese Rom

I'm still in the 7 day waiting period to unlock phone, currently on Chinese 13.0.25. Just wondering what the experience has been on this vs. the EU Rom available, is there an advantage to switch. Do Google apps come stock on the EU rom?
I definitely recommend the xiaomi.eu version over stock Chinese.
The major benefit is that Google apps are stock, allowing for a less limited android experience.
Beyond that, there's stuff like bloatware and non-english app removal. There's other stuff listed in their changelogs, but those few that I listed are the main things I cared for
The main downside is that there's no auto-updating since TWRP isn't available.
avoid chinese Rom! On EU everything works great
CN ROM does not work, notifications are delayed or never come through, no apps show on the lock screen and there's over 45 preinstalled Chinese apps. If you're planning to use Signal as your default messaging app, then don't.... I spent half a day trying to get Signal to show or notify but doesn't work. It worked perfectly in EEA Stable ROM.
The "find my phone" feature only works in China if logged in to your Xiaomi account and the Mi carrier services also only works in China so you have this useless bubble in the Control Center showing no information.
EU ROM didn't work well for me, slow and sluggish, WiFi hotspot wouldn't work, frequent Bluetooth disconnects. The EEA ROM that's just been released is best.
I didn't realize there was an EEA rom and a Global rom, i'm in Canada on the global ROM and everything is working fine.
Personally, i love Xiaomi EU and i prefer over the EEA/Global rom because on my last 2 phones (POCO F3 and Xiaomi 12 Pro) with the Stock ROM 5g signal doesn't work at all, once updated to the Xiaomi.eu ROM it recieve 5G signal everywhere. On plus you can have update first, and works better even on sh'tty app like FB, IG etc.
EU has been working flawlessly

I have found that China ROM has really bad notification problems, they do not show on lock screen, or if they do, they are delayed by hours. How can I flash Global or EU Rom? Is there a tutorial somewhere?

We don't say EU rom but EEA, to avoid confusion with Xiaomi EU rom (better than stock for CN devices).
Change stock roms(dont re lock the bootloader):https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/flash-tool-guide-use-xiaomi-flash-tool.4262425/
If you install a stock rom on a CN device, you must root and use Magisk to have the play store certified, hence the interest of Xiaomi EU roms or it is not necessary for everything to work.

are there any for mi 12 pro (zeus) /
Here are the main difference between
China ROM Vs EU Rom vs Global Rom
Tested on: Xiaomi 12s Ultra
All known issues that still persist as of June 2023 Miui 14.0.12.0:
China Rom:
1) contacts not at your contact list calling at your phone will always show Unknown Numbers at Notification toolbar
2) AOD display have no option to disable auto turn off if phone prolonged at dark room. So it will always turn off itself.
3) turning off Bluetooth from drop down top menu only turn off 24 hours. This will drive you insane.
4) if you use english, a brief 2 second of Chinese after reboot will show in apps like clock, and calendar app before changing to english. A lot of high end advance settings still have traces of chinese and broken english.
5) And a lot of bugs, crashes, stuttering where china developers never bother to fix.
6) installation of apk have extra security steps.
7) lots of chinese bloatware that cannot be removed. Advertisement in native apps like mi video. You might ask, i can always get vlc. Don't forget, native app functionality is always better because it have better latency! Vlc apk have audio delay! Go see for yourself...
8) feedback all in chinese and they don't read or entertained english complaints.
9) themes and wallpaper are all chinese uploaded community despite changing english.
10) does not support google hands free assistant. ok Google feature will be grey out under settings!!
11) smartwatches you bought globally will not work with playstore global apps. You need to download the chinese version to get it working. For example, Fossil Gen 5e will not work at playstore Wearable App but will work at getapps wearable app.
12)A lot of Bluetooth headset signature compatibility issues. Brands that can't be detected by xiaomi are: Audeze, Turtle Beach, Creative, etc
13) phone crash from app are very frequent. E.g app closing and reopening itself. So is like a 1 second keyboard and app minimized and maximized crash scenarios. At least once every 1 hour from intensive stress testing.
14) very aggressive miui optimization that closes app even when you told them not to. Battery life was excellent.
15) 10 second security delay on unsecure app.
16) system update 1 toogle. Getapps update for your mi apps. And playstore for your 3rd party ones. Can your mother learn this?
17) Torch light that turn itself off in 1 hour. Good luck hiking with it.
18) you can turn off miui optimization and toggle for pause activity in apps are present.
EU Rom:
1)You can't turn off miui optimization, so a few toggle like pause activity only available in off optimization settings. This will drive u nuts as rarely used apps will always need you to grant permission.
2)An active development team that actually fix things. E.g AOD display that stays on forever. Bluetooth that turn off forever from drop down. It will show phone number instead of unknown numbers from notification listing.
3) System update is slow.
4) if you encounter bug in default mi apps like, mi video, messaging, you will need to wait 3 months before it fix. Cause you can't update mi apps via Get apps. Only can update 3rd party apps via playstore.
5) installation of apk have less steps.
6) no bloatware. But still u can find some useless mi app like, mi coin, mi browser which cannot be removed. Advertisement in mi video is also removed, so is wise to use native apps for video because it have better latency!!
7) toxic community and developers that scrutinized your feedback from their forum. E.g their lead Igor is the most toxic developer i ever met. Their tester like gogocar are very helpful and resourceful. Lets hope the war in Russia won't affect their work in the long run if you know what i meant!
8) access to themes and wallpaper are still native chinese.
9) support google hands free assistant. Ok Google features.
10) global wearable apps found at playstore will work with your smart watches.
11)A lot of Bluetooth headset signature compatibility issues. Brands that can't be detected by xiaomi are: Audeze, Turtle Beach, Creative, etc
12) phone crash from app are not that frequent. E.g app closing and reopening itself. So is like a 1 second keyboard and app minimized and maximized crash scenarios. At least once every 3 hour from intensive stress testing.
13) bootloader is unlocked yet the whole rom is still not as flexible as a total rooted device.
14) less aggressive miui optimization that does not closes app when you told them not to. Battery life was excellent.
15) many will choose to go EU Rom, cause at the end of the day, you will hate miui os soo much!
16) 10 second security delay on unsecure app.
17) if you use adb shell command line is now screwed with multiple session that can't be reset to single session no more. There is a emulator user in your rom.
18) straight forward system update that updates all ur mi apps and playstore for your 3rd party ones.
19) Torch light that does not turn itself off.
20) developers hide a lot of features. You can't turn off miui optimization here. And pause app activity toggle is missing.
Global Rom
1) everything in english. If you switch to chinese or other languages, a brief moment of english will show after reboot.
2) contacts not at your least calling at your phone will always show Unknown Numbers at Notification toolbar
3) AOD display have no option to disable auto turn off if phone prolonged at dark room. So it will always turn off itself.
4) turning off Bluetooth from drop down top menu only turn off 24 hours. This will drive you insane.
5) themes and personalized uploads are in english also.
6) support google hands free assistant. Ok Google features.
7) wearable apps from playstore will work with most wearables.
8)A lot of Bluetooth headset signature compatibility issues. Brands that can't be detected by xiaomi are: Audeze, Turtle Beach, Creative, etc
9) phone crash from app are very frequent. E.g app closing and reopening itself. So is like a 1 second keyboard and app minimized and maximized crash scenarios. At least once every 1 hour from intensive stress testing.
10) lots of localized global bloatware apps. Mi video is riddle with advertisement too. So you will have to find alternative app like vlc which has audio delay latency issue in movies.
11) very aggressive miui optimization that closes app even when you told them not to. Battery life was excellent
12) 10 second security delay on unsecure app.
13) realtime updates from getapps and playstore.
14) Torch light that turn itself off in 1 hour. Good luck using it.
15) you can turn off miui optimization.
So in the end what can we learnt and summarize? Miui os is no doubt the worst android operating system in the market when in comparison to samsung one ui.
So which one would you choose? You should choose EU rom. Cause at the end of the day, is about functionality. 1 key difference is that EU Rom AOD display will have the option to stay on forever whereas the 2 other rom does not! This is a deal or no deal breaker when comparing operating system! So, better not buy xiaomi to begin with! End of story.
