Moto G 2014 - would you prefer it anytime over ...

Hello Moto G (2014) users,
I am thinking about buying a Moto G 2nd Generation (2014) - the dual sim version. I currently have an Acer Liquid E2 Duo... there are some issues with the Acer (photo quality with the 8M camera is the most annoying for me). That's why I would like to kindly ask you: would you prefer anytime a Moto G 2014 (dual sim version) over an Acer Liquid E2 Duo? Is the camera much better? And what about the battery life? Or would you stay with the Acer?
Thanks a lot in advance for your answers!
Conrad
For my moto g 2014 is very nice, battery during one day with WiFi connect, 2 or 3 call é messages...
Compare them

The camera is good for the price, better than other mid-range phones I've looked at, but also not great. I don't use the camera that much, so it wasn't a priority for me, and I've never used the Acer so I can't make the direct comparison, but if camera quality is your priority, and you don't want to spend the money on a current flagship phone, my advice would be to get an older flagship phone (Like the S4 or LG G2). They aren't the latest and greatest, and you might have to live without the latest Android updates for some (unless you use a custom rom), but you can find good deals, and they'll have better cameras and fast processors than the Moto G.

Droid Turbo damaged - Which phone buy next?

Moto G5 Plus? Seriously?
What a downgrade. Not after having 1440p AMOLED, Qi wireless charging, and NFC in Quark phones -- since 2014.
2017 Moto G5 Plus is a very low tier phone: 5.2" 1080p LCD, no wireless charging, U.S. versions won't have NFC. That's going backwards from the 2014 Quark.
ZTE Axon 7
Google Pixel.
I like zte axon 7 but mini..what you guys think about Honor 8 ?i think 5.2 size is best
The only phone that looks even slightly fascinating to me right now is the so-called Nokia 3310, but only because it has an updated version of snake.
My wife (she has an LG G4) and I have had an upgrade from Verizon available since November and will likely wait at least until the Fall batch of phones, and still may wait even longer.

Then go for the moto g5 plus, the snapdragon 625 gives really good battery life and supposedly it has the same camera that's in the samsung galaxy s7/s7 edge.
I am bought few smartphones in 3 weeks and all of them I return..I found I will not buy bigger size phone ..max is 5.2 inch..
I may try moto g5plus..or is there any any good 5.2 inch phones comming this months?pixel look like iphone..so dont like.

You are irrationally focusing on a certain screen size instead of overall phone size. Frame size. There are 5.2" phones that are BIGGER than 5.5" phones or even 5.7" phone.s Why would you want a BIGGER phone just to get a certain screen size?

So you would rather buy a LARGER phone just because it has a 5.2" display? Even if the it's BIGGER than phone with a larger display?
Don't be hung up by the display size. It's the overall frame size.
Here's why the Moto G5 Plus is crap compared to our Quarks. Besides not having NFC, besides not having 1440p, besides not having Qi wireless charging...
Motorola DECREASED the 5.5" of the 2016 Moto G4 Plus to only 2017 5.2" on the Moto G5 Plus -- but INCREASED THE BEZEL SIZE so you wouldn't notice the difference. Do you understand what I am saying? You are buying a phone about the same size as the 5.5" Moto G4 Plus -- which you think is too big. But you are only getting 5.2" display this year. They could have made it a SMALLER PHONE, but the made BEZELS bigger on purpose, so people with last year's Moto G4 Plus wouldn't notice they were being CHEATED out of a larger display.
Look at the FRAME size, not the display size.
Look at these three phones! Which one has the LARGEST DISPLAY? Which is the SMALLEST PHONE? The same one.

Yet, you would buy the LARGER Moto G5 Plus because it has a 5.2" 1080p display instead of the SMALLER LG G6 with 5.7" 1440p? I'm not talking about PRICE, we are talking about display size and frame size. You must like LARGE phones! The LG G6 is the smaller phone.
Look at these two phones below! Which one has the LARGEST DISPLAY? Which is the SMALLEST PHONE?
Trick question. They both have the same size display -- 5.5". BUT the LG G3 is much smaller than the iPhone 6 Plus. Why? BEZELS. And the LG G3 has 1440p vs the iPhone 6 Plus 1080p.
You can't just look at display size. What you need to look at is NOT the display size but the FRAME size.
If I only had a choice between the Pixel XL and the ZTE Axon 7, I would buy the ZTE Axon 7. Why?
They both have the EXACT same 5.5" 1440p AMOLED display, made by Samsung. But the ZTE Axon 7 has front-facing stereo speakers and is SMALLER than the Pixel XL which has HUGE WORTHLESS BEZELS.
Same display size, but the Axon 7 has better hardware specs than the Pixel XL, is THE SMALLER PHONE and only costs $400. But even if the price were exactly the same, the Axon 7 has better specs and is the SMALLER PHONE even though both are 5.5" 1440p AMOLED. Look at the frame size, not the display size.

Don't think you can unlock the bootloader of the Galaxy S7, at least on the non-Chinese models with the LTE bands you need. Otherwise I would have suggested it. There are some you can root without unlocking the bootloader. You would have to go through all the S7 forums and see which model variant has the bands you need and if it can be rooted. But you probably wouldn't have custom recovery like TWRP.

Here's the issue. Motorola was one of the few -- maybe the only one who made a 5.2" display phone with 1440p AMOLED -- the Quark. I LOVE it myself and I don't mind a little bigger phone (not much bigger, just a little) as long as it's bigger display but not HUGE BEZELS.
So, you have two choices. Either get the smallest 1440p phone you can find (to keep the same level of specs) OR go to the smaller size phones that fit your criteria but downgrade to 1080p.
You have the LG G4 (1440p), but you think the Quark (also 1440p) has better frame size for holding. LG has made a lot of phones with smaller bezels, so IF you could afford the new 2017 LG G6 (5.7" 1440p), it would be same/slightly smaller frame size to the LG G4 you now own -- while still keeping 1440p resolution, and even giving you a bigger display! But it would still be bigger than the frame size of the 2014 Moto Quark.
You didn't make a bad decision with the LG G4. If I didn't own the Quark, that would probably be the phone I would have for the past couple of years. Especially since you can buy Qi charging coil back covers for the LG G4. (I helped a friend do that.)
SPECS COMPARISON:
LG G6 vs LG G4 vs Moto Droid Turbo
on the other end of just similar size, there's the 2016 ZTE Axon 7 Mini. It has 1080p AMOLED resolution compared to the full-sized 5.5" ZTE Axon 7 1440p AMOLED. The Mini still has front-facing stereo speakers (which Motorola should have also given us!),, but drops down in CPU/graphics chipset severely from the full-sized ZTE Axon 7. It even has a LESSER graphics chip (Adreno 405) than our 2014 Moto Quark (Adreno 420). You've also got a much smaller battery (2705 mAh) than the Quark (3900 mAh). The 3GB RAM the Mini has is the same as the Quark (Droid Turbo/Moto Turbo/Moto Maxx) and you do have rear camera OIS (which I still kick Motorola for not giving the Quark). And the mini has a microSD card to supplement the 32GB internal memory. So, I'm not saying it's total crap... but I wouldn't buy it, having my Moto Maxx XT1225 (64GB internal memory, and 1440p AMOLED, with Qi wireless charging) in my hand.
The only reason I'm mentioning it is because it fits your "size" criteria.

[Q] from x4 to g7 Plus

Hello everyone.
Do you think the brand-new Moto G7 Plus is worth upgrading from our Moto x4? I have reteu 4/64 (220€ - 9 months ago) and I found a special offer for G7+ at 257€.
x4 pros:
- Front fingerprint sensor
- Ultra-wide second camera
- More compact
- Waterproof
g7+ pros:
- Bigger screen
- Better SoC (636 vs 630 - Qualcomm naming is a little weird, 636 is WAY better, it's basically an underclocked 660)
- Better main camera (OIS is a game changer)
- Stereo speakers
- Newest (updates, etc)
What do you think?

I normally stick with the X line because I like nfc for mobile payments. This time, however, the hardware difference might make me go back to G even though no NFC on the US G7.

Unfortunately the promo ended a few days ago, I'm gonna wait for some similar Amazon deals...

Then there's no need of using smartphones. Using basic handsets makes sense here. Basic handsets doesn't control people lives..
I like the smaller screen of the X4.
A better camera isn't going to make my pictures any better.
I use a mono bluetooth headset so stereo speakers are useless.
I prefer 8.1 to pie and i am keeping my x4's on 8.1 for now. Works for me.
