Development [CLOSED] LineageOS Rom for Pixel 5a Android 12 - July 31, 2022 - Google Pixel 5a

You MUST be on Android 12 to use this!!!!!
If your not, you must flash a Google factory image for Android 12 Barbet
This is based on the Android Open Source Project. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. It does still include various proprietary hardware-specific code.
Gapps must be flashed separately and are not included in this ROM.
All the source code is available in the Github repo here.
Thanks go to Github and LineageOS for their source code and device specific code. I couldn't have built this without it!!!
The ROM uses the LineageOS source code, device specific code and proprietary blobs. I made other minor changes and used compression to lower the file size of the ROM, creating more space in the internal storage with minor reduction in performance. Repo Synced every three days to keep the code base fresh. Also updated daily with minor changes.
NO NEED TO DOWNLOAD PE BARBET ZIPS. THAT PERTAINS TO MY OTHER ROM!!!!!
DOWNLOAD TWRP, ROM & GAPPS HERE
#1 REBOOT TO BOOTLOADER
#2 FACTORY RESET: fastboot -w
#3 BOOT TWRP (DO NOT FLASH IT!!!): fastboot boot twrp.img

Hello if there any list with updates for your linage ROM?

Did you try to build any other custom ROM? if you think that there could be some issues with ROM without gapps included, maybe try evox? This ROM included gapps, and have lots of customization

I'll look into it

I have upgraded from the Pixel 5a to the Pixel 6 Pro. Because I don't have the device anymore, I will more than likely not support development for this phone anymore.

Any difference compared to the official ROM from their website?

[ROM][8.1.0][OFFICIAL] AOSiP {T-mobile/Sprint}

Aosip for Motorola Z2 Force
What is this?
AOSiP is a quality custom ROM based purely on GOOGLE AOSP source since 6.0 release. Twisted with the latest features and blended with stability. We strive for perfection and it shows.
Obligatory Warning: This guide and ROM assumes you know the fundamentals of fastboot, flashing TWRP, and running a flash all. Your warranty is voided because of the unlocked bootloader. This is a Third Party ROM. Things may not work as expected compared to stock (for better or for worse).
Warning 2: If you can't do fastboot commands, do a flash all, root your device or flash TWRP/ROM, please do not ask for help here. If you cannot flash all back to stock, please stay stock for everyone's sake.
Warning 3: if you don't flash the firmware so you are on Oreo on both slots, when you boot after flashing, you'll be on Nougat firmware and have a brick. Try a flash all as that's your only hope on recovering your phone.
How to install
1. Download the latest ROM from here.
2. Prepare your phone for AOSP style ROMs. (download one of the firmwares depending on your model)
Flash the firmware with the .bat file. (See links below or on Post #2)
3. Boot to TWRP
4. Flash TWRP to boot image (with the zip from their website.) Reboot to Newly flashed recovery.
5. Erase oem, data, and system
6. Flash rom like you would any aosp rom, in twrp.
7. Reboot to bootloader
8. run the command "fastboot -w" (this will erase EVERYTHING from your phone, even internal SD, but is needed to have these ROMs work)
9. reboot.
Whats working?
Wifi
RIL
Mobile data
GPS
Camera
Flashlight
Camcorder
Bluetooth
Volte (T-Mobile)
Change quick charge
Fingerprint reader
NFC
Lights
Sound / vibration
Some motomods (soundboost mod doesnt work)
Team Illusion:
Josh Fox (xlxfoxxlx)
Akhil Narang
Sri Harsha (@srisurya95)
Shreesha Murthy
Brett Montague
Known issues
1. WiFi Calling hit and miss
2. Cannot flash Gapps (included temporarily)
3. some Audio recording apps will not have audio recording work (phone functions fine)
4. if you don't fastboot -w, you will not boot.
5. if you don't flash the firmware your bootloader might relock itself and be stuck on Nougat.
6. SElinux is passive (meaning CTS check will always fail until further notice.)

Bug reports:
If you don't flash the firmware and your other slot is nougat, after flashing the ROM, you'll brick. (Custom ROM with a locked nougat slot.) Your only hope is attempting an official flash all and try again after flashing the firmware zip in the posts above.
Fair warning and off-topic: I am okay with some off topic questions. If you have a question, please use the search function. If I have addressed the question before, I will not answer and advise to find it in the thread. I will report the post for a mod to delete along with my response to keep the thread tidy. It seems some users think this ROM has international support. It doesn't and won't unless someone with another variant or an unlocked T-Mobile/Sprint model tests, confirms and debugs for that international carrier. Please keep in mind of what I said below regarding this. I posted this on page 20 or so and copying here for better visibility.
Your SIM is locked. You are trying to run a phone off it's intended network. Please don't post those problems here. It isn't ROM related. Like the thread states. It works for T-Mobile and Sprint only on their respective models on their locked networks. Any other tom foolery isn't supported and must be kept out of the thread. After this it will be considered off topic.
Edit: if you have Sprint or T-Mobile service and run into issues with using your (albeit, expensive) international roaming plan, I will assist with that if it works on stock but not AOSP. If you don't have a sprint or T-Mobile sim, I cannot help. Almost all devs on this device won't be able to help. "Almost" all of us are on US carriers.

@Uzephi is your device on sprint? Data works but LTE does not? Does the Moto Mods support Hot Swapping? This is great progress and can't wait to see more on this phone.

Motomods work with kernel in ROM (hot swapping should as well iirc, I don't use the mods that often where my projector is outdated) LTE doesn't work on Sprint, but 3G and 1xTT works fine.
@Uzephi if we were to flash your kernel, we would lose motomods support?

For now, yes. Still trying to get it work. Clang is being a PITA on my build box, having to go to Linaro which can't build the Motorola Greybus driver correctly.
Thanks sir, I appreciate what you've done for the community, finally can go back to my moto from a GS8+
I'm sorry if this is a dumb question but...
Ive never had to install different firmware before on a ROM. If I install this, will it change the process of installing a different ROM in the future?
Thank you.
Sprint varient if it matters by the way.
Edit: I'm sorry for this but is there a way to do this without the .bat file? currently working on OSX

Open the bat file in a text editor and run each of those commands one by one.
This I'd a dual boot device. Your other slot has the older Nougat bootloader. That firmware flashed the current Oreo firmware to both slots. If you don't do that, and you flash one of these ROMs, you'll reboot to your nougat slot, locked and pretty much screwed without a flash all and luck of being able to flash OEM images in oem mode.
Edit: you won't need to flash this any consecutive times until there is another big firmware update like nougat to Oreo was.

Thank you for the quick reply. I've installed the firmware, but now when I boot to TWRP and try to install the ROM, it instantly fails with ERROR:1. Tried redownloading with a different browser but got the same result. I feel like I'm missing something obvious.

Flash twrp zip to your phone, reboot to your phone's newly flashed twrp recovery and flash the rom. If I remember right, you need to wipe oem and system before flashing the ROM as well. I'll add that shortly.
Up and running! Thank you!! Still looking around but I do see a built in updater. Will this function 100%? By that I mean, when the Sprint LTE issue is resolved and whatever else is coming will be handled by the updater?
Thanks again very excited to play around.

Yes, since it's official, it checks the link in OP for any new updates.
For anyone using the ROM, are you seeing notification dots, I tried to get them to work, but they're not working for me.

Working fine for me thru Evie Launcher. Soundboost mod is broken though. My SoundBoost is recognized and the notification says the mod is attached, but the volume steps are reduced to on/off and no sound comes out.
Edited to reflect that only the sound boost mod isn't working AFAIK.

Oh, @npjohnson and @invisiblek don't have the sound mod, so they can't get it to work. All of us in the development discord are trying to mail one out, they can't guarantee when it would get fixed.
Edit: added disclaimer to OP. We can only guarantee what we have works. Like when I do my kernel, the only mod I have is the free projector, so that's the only mod I can guarantee works when I do get it working.
I have an extra soundboost I could mail to someone.

[ROM][TREBLE][DISCONTINUED][FIGO]LineageOS 16.0 for Huawei P Smart 2018

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 9 (Pie), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.
Note
LineageOS 16.0 has been discontinued by LineageOS, nor interested to promote this device to 17.1 (as I don't own it anymore).
What's not working :
tell me.
IMPORTANT NOTE :
Flash (latest) MIUI 9 for your device. I used dload method (extracting update zip and loading files to sd card, update using SD Card Upgrade from Phone Manufacture Mode or holding volume up, volume down and power when powering device on). MIUI 9 is required to flash Lineage OS, otherwise it'll end up in a bootloop.
Unlock bootloader again if neccessary (sometimes EMUI Update locks bootloader, but you can use the same bootloader unlock code you already used to unlock it again, enable developer options in settings and enable oem unlock, then fastboot the device and use fastboot oem unlock).
With bootloader unlocked and device set up using EMUI 9, flash twrp-3.4.0.0-v1-figo-haky86.img using fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk . Do not turn the device off or disconnect it yet.
Reboot directly to TWRP. This is neccessary because after booting to system, EMUI will damage TWRP and therefore bootloop the device
Type fastboot reboot in cmd, don't enter yet.
Hold your phone in one hand pressing volume up and power at the same time.
Press enter on the keyboard, phone will reboot.
Instantly disconnect the usb cable from the phone while holding the buttons volume up and power.
Phone will reboot one more time. Hold the buttons until bootloader warning appears. Remove your fingers from the buttons. Phone will boot to twrp.
in TWRP, wipe System, Cache, Dalvik, Data, Internal Storage (Be sure to backup all data before).
Flash Lineage OS Rom either from ADB Sideload or from sd card. Both worked for me.
To flash gapps, resizing system partition is needed. Go to wipe, mark only system partition, go to repair or change file system and choose resize file system. Without resizing, phone will end up in bootloop.
Extra Warning for Gapps: Be sure to flash a gapps package that contains "android system webview". This is neccessary to login to your google account. If Googles "android system webview " is not installed. setup will crash and you won't be able to enter your phone / use your google account. I'm pretty sure this is a lineage os bug, because Lineage OS has its own webview, its just not working. Until it works for account login, you'll have to stick with Googles Webview Version.
Flash Gapps.
In TWRP, go to the reboot section. Connect phone to PC and choose reboot to bootloader. Phone should reboot to fastbood mode.
Flash Stock Recovery using the same method used for twrp. (Step 3)
Reboot to Stock recovery using the same method used when rebooting to twrp. (Step 4!)
In EMUI Recovery, choose factory reset option, accept every warning and do factory reset.
Choose reboot / reboot to system. Phone should boot to Lineage OS now.

Looks like a great option to ditch Huawei's laggy EMUI 9 if everything works as expected and it seems like there will be no official updates anymore. I would gladly test it if my bootloader was unlocked.

I was able to unlock it by debranding to C432 June 2018 build and use DC to unlock it. actually I'm planning to release a fully worked android 10.
Yes, I've noticed the Android 10 topic and posts on Telegram which seems even more promising.
Yeah, it looks like there is no other way but to downgrade it to DC-unlockable version. Hopefully I could do this with a Mac or there is still Windows required like in the old days?
It would be very helpful if you post step-by-step guide about how to bring locked EMUI 9 phone to your Android 9/10 ROMs. Based on other topics there's a lot of potential users with locked phones out there.
Keep up the good work which seems better than OEM at this point and they already moved on! :good:
Is this a good rom to have on the p smart ?
Cause im tired of EMUI 9 which is laggy and im still under warranty
pls help me

[ROM][10.0][Xiaomi Mi 9][UNOFFICIAL]LineageOS 17.1 CLEAN, STOCK + Signature Spoofing [2021-01-21]

** Standard Disclaimer: Unlocking your Bootloader will Void your Warranty. I take no responsibility for this or for any bricked devices. These thing should go without saying at this point, but there they are. If you are here, I assume you are familiar with LineageOS, TWRP, and moving from MIUI to AOSP-based ROMs**
I've built a clean version of LineageOS 17.1 for Mi 9 that includes Signature Spoofing, but no other modifications.
This will allow those who are interested to get full MicroG support without the need of using any sort of Patcher or Magisk/XPosed Module. YOu all may have used my previous LineageOS Clean,Stock ROM and this is just an updated build of that ROM + Signature Spoofing to make life easier for those who want MicroG.
I flashed this and followed the simple steps of installing F-Droid, adding the MicroG Repo, and Installing the necessary packages via F-Droid and confirmed MicroG Self-check passes all the tests (once you finish granting the necessary permissions for each).
I prefer this over the NanoDroid or other patching methods as a much cleaner way to use MicroG with LineageOS.
Proprietary Blobs/Device Tree are DRG-Developer's as referenced in their post: here
Kernel source is by DRG-Developer: here
Xiaomi Hardware package used is the primary LineageOS from their github here
My reason for this is that there does not seem to be an officially-supported build for our device on the LineageOS for MicroG project or a recent, unofficial build.
What Works:
Pretty much everything from what I can tell
Fingerprint Sensor it working like a champ so far.
DT2W/DT2S
NFC Seems to be working but I don't have a device to test against
Known Issues:
You tell me...
Download:
849.98 MB file on MEGA
mega.nz
Prerequisite:
Make sure you are running a current AOSP/MIUI ROM with the latest firmware flashed and TWRP Installed
Install:
From TWRP:
1) Wipe Date (standard wipe)
2) Format Date ---> 'yes'
3) push ROM zip to /sdcard/
4) Flash ROM zip
4b) - OPTIONAL - Flash Magisk Zip for Root
5) Reboot to system
If you want to to install MicroG, just follow the steps outlined here in the "Install" section to get F-Droid installed, add the MicroG Repo, and install the handful of apps needed. No need for any of the patching steps.
DRG-Developer's device trees were last updated on 2020-10-18 so expect this build to reflect that. So far everything seems to function very well.
Does it support GApps too or it's only for MicroG?
Edit:
I test it and It's working well with GApps
Thanks for your build.

Sure,
I'm using this ROM for daily use since yesterday and seems like very stable since now and battery life is good.
I missed `Internet Band-with Speed indicator` and `three finger swipe screen shot gesture` that I think these features are not available in LineageOS.

This morning I checked NFC by sending a picture from my MI 9 to my wife's Mi 9T (also equipped with LOS). The transfer was successfull!
Thank you very much for providing this clean (stock) ROM!
Hi,
I've just unlocked my device and flashed Mauronofrio's TWRP afer that, i've installed this rom. And everytime it seems to be bootlooping. Showing the MI logo and after that it turns off and goes back to the Mi logo again. I've tried flashing it a few times, wiping data / system ETC. At the moment I'm restoring it with flashtool to get it back working. But am I doing something wrong?

Did you wipe data AND "Format" Data? When you Format data is asks you to confirm by typing "yes" in the TWRP Recovery. Try Wiping and Formatting data, then push the ROM to the phone and Flash.
Ah that was probably it. ADB Sideload wasn't co-operating so i've flashed the rom first and after that wiped + formatted the data. Thanks! I've just restored the phone but will try this later again.

Also, be sure you are coming from an updated ROM running current firmware.
Thank for your build ;-)
Are NFC Payements working on it?

I have not tested payments. Another user confirmed that file transfer via NFC works. I do not use NFC for payments so cannot test.
Hi, does screen off fod work?
Your rom is really simple stock rom, but there is something that I can't make it work. Waze has been my pain, the map dont load and I cant make it run. Anyway you did a good job. You discovered how can we put updates in the rom?

No, you have to double-tap to wake or hit the power button to wake the screen before you can use the fingerprint scanner.

After installing, did you Install F-Droid and enable the Magisk repositories to install the necessary Magisk Modules and Location Backends? Then in the MicroG settings ensure all the checkboxes are checked?
Thanks for making this ROM. Really appreciate it.
The only small issue I am noticing is that my finance apps (example: banking apps, stock trading apps) popup an alert saying that my device is rooted (even though it is not) and this could be a security risk. The apps do still function but its a bit annoying to see this alert every time I launch the app.
Is this because the ROM has been signed with public keys? This alert does not appear when I used the iode OS ROM for Mi 9 or when I use the official Lineage OS for MicroG ROM on my Mi 8.

I'm not sure. It could be the Signature Spoofing aspect. I don't think iode has that and I know stock LIneage does not.
Do you have Magisk installed?

Development [CLOSED] PIXEL EXPERIENCE PIXEL 5A BARBET ANDROID 13 BETA UNOFFICIAL NOV. 7, 2022

October security patch.
You MUST be on Android 12 to use this!!!!!
If your already on Android 13, you can not go back to Android 12, so don't try flashing this!!!
Your bootloader must also be unlocked to install custom firmware.
To do this, reboot to bootloader and type the following: fastboot flashing unlock
The custom kernel of this ROM hides the unlocked bootloader. The device will pass Safetynet and the Play Store will report the device as certified. Based on this, root, magisk and the modules are not needed to pass device certification.
This is based on the Android Open Source Project. It includes various proprietary hardware-specific code.
All the source code is available in the Github repo here.
Basic requirements
Read through the instructions at least once before actually following them, so as to avoid any problems due to any missed steps!
Make sure your computer has adb and fastboot. Setup instructions can be found here.
Enable USB debugging on your device.
Thanks go to Github and Pixel Experience for their source code and device specific code. I couldn't have built this without it!!!
The ROM uses the Pixel Experience source code, device specific code. I made other minor changes and used compression to lower the file size of the ROM, creating more space in the internal storage with minor reduction in performance. Updated every week with minor changes.
GAPPS ARE ALSO INCLUDED WITH THIS ROM
DO NOT DOWNLOAD OR FLASH GAPPS ON THIS ROM!!!!!
DOWNLOAD RECOVERY FLASHER HERE
DOWNLOAD ROM HERE
#1 REBOOT TO BOOTLOADER
#2 FACTORY RESET: fastboot -w
#3 Have all the recovery flasher files in the same folder
Simply double click on flash.bat to install recovery
#4 REBOOT TO RECOVERY THEN ADB SIDELOAD
adb sideload PixelExperience_barbet-13-20221107-BETA-UNOFFICIAL.zip
#5 REBOOT TO SYSTEM
#6 REBOOT TO RECOVERY AGAIN IF YOU WISH TO ROOT AND ADB SIDELOAD
adb sideload magisk.apk
#7 REBOOT TO SYSTEM
Screen call and Google assistant works.
If you are already on this ROM, you can dirty flash updates without wiping data. Simply set to inactive slot in bootloader. Reboot to bootloader then
fastboot --set-active=other
Then repeat all steps except #2
YOU MUST WIPE WHEN COMING TO THIS ROM THE FIRST TIME!!!
Hello, thanks for for new custom rom. Can you please post screenshots with which customizations available in this ROM? For example double tap on status bar to go sleep, etc?

how is the FP sensor, does phone have slow unlock when you are not using AOD? Google introduced that stupid bug in March, and they still didn't fix it.

Thanks for the info. Any bugs let me know.
I'm having a issue right now getting the updates pushed through the updater. For now you can manually update without wiping by the following method until I get it fixed. Reboot to bootloader and check what your active slot is. Switch to opposite slot by the following. Example, active slot is b. fastboot --set-active=a Reboot to recovery and sideload update file. Reboot to recovery and sideload Gapps file. Reboot to system. You will then have to reboot to recovery to sideload magisk and root again. Updates are always installed in opposite slot or you will be stuck at bootanimation. This will hopefully be temporary until I get the issue resolved.

Ok thank you. Someone sent me a personal PM saying that phone calls were dropping for no reason and all text messages were not being received to their phone. I can't seem to see any issue from the logcat they sent me. Any truth to this from you or anyone else? I am using this myself and don't have such issues. Maybe it's carrier related. I have Verizon. I will check with him and see what carrier he is using. I will give him the benefit of doubt.

AOSP Android 11.0 – Kernel 4.14 – Yoshino

Hello
How can I flash SW_BINARIES_FOR_XPERIA_ANDROID_11_4.14_V9A_YOSHINO.ZIP over the stock version?
Software binaries for AOSP Android 11.0 – Kernel 4.14 – Yoshino (latest) - Sony Developer World
developer.sony.com
Tried to understand the official manual from here but can't understand where can I get the rest of the img files (boot, system...) - https://developer.sony.com/develop/...-aosp-android-android-11-0-0/#tutorial-step-8
You don't want to combine the AOSP binaries and stock. Those files are meant for pure AOSP builds that don't use the Sony vendor files. Most recent XZ1c ROMs start from stock, so would break if you changed to OEM files.
So if you were doing another ROM, you could go into fastboot and flash this partition and any others from the ROM, or maybe do some of the others from recovery. (e.g. some ROMs might come with their own rather than TWRP.)
Perhaps better question is to ask what you're trying to do with them here.

Hey @tonsofquestions ! I just want to upgrade to Android 11 And I assume it's not LineageOS (Which already tried but wants another OS to try)
It depends on the ROM, not the Android version. The Lineage 18.1 ROM is Android 11, and is based on stock.
Compare that to something like this one https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/g8441-xz1c-lilac-aospextendedrom-oreo.3859656/ which says it's AOSP, and has a step in the instructions to download and install the OEM files.
I also don't think there are many non-Lineage ROMs for 11. Maybe Havoc, but that's still stock-based. Which specific ROM do you want to try?

Want to flash this Android 11 img, and not quite know how....
Probably by following the instructions in the thread.
But if you don't include a link to the image, it's impossible to be any more specific.
