[ROM][TREBLE][DISCONTINUED][FIGO]LineageOS 16.0 for Huawei P Smart 2018 - Huawei P Smart ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 9 (Pie), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.
Note
LineageOS 16.0 has been discontinued by LineageOS, nor interested to promote this device to 17.1 (as I don't own it anymore).
What's not working :
tell me.
IMPORTANT NOTE :
Flash (latest) MIUI 9 for your device. I used dload method (extracting update zip and loading files to sd card, update using SD Card Upgrade from Phone Manufacture Mode or holding volume up, volume down and power when powering device on). MIUI 9 is required to flash Lineage OS, otherwise it'll end up in a bootloop.
Unlock bootloader again if neccessary (sometimes EMUI Update locks bootloader, but you can use the same bootloader unlock code you already used to unlock it again, enable developer options in settings and enable oem unlock, then fastboot the device and use fastboot oem unlock).
With bootloader unlocked and device set up using EMUI 9, flash twrp-3.4.0.0-v1-figo-haky86.img using fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk . Do not turn the device off or disconnect it yet.
Reboot directly to TWRP. This is neccessary because after booting to system, EMUI will damage TWRP and therefore bootloop the device
Type fastboot reboot in cmd, don't enter yet.
Hold your phone in one hand pressing volume up and power at the same time.
Press enter on the keyboard, phone will reboot.
Instantly disconnect the usb cable from the phone while holding the buttons volume up and power.
Phone will reboot one more time. Hold the buttons until bootloader warning appears. Remove your fingers from the buttons. Phone will boot to twrp.
in TWRP, wipe System, Cache, Dalvik, Data, Internal Storage (Be sure to backup all data before).
Flash Lineage OS Rom either from ADB Sideload or from sd card. Both worked for me.
To flash gapps, resizing system partition is needed. Go to wipe, mark only system partition, go to repair or change file system and choose resize file system. Without resizing, phone will end up in bootloop.
Extra Warning for Gapps: Be sure to flash a gapps package that contains "android system webview". This is neccessary to login to your google account. If Googles "android system webview " is not installed. setup will crash and you won't be able to enter your phone / use your google account. I'm pretty sure this is a lineage os bug, because Lineage OS has its own webview, its just not working. Until it works for account login, you'll have to stick with Googles Webview Version.
Flash Gapps.
In TWRP, go to the reboot section. Connect phone to PC and choose reboot to bootloader. Phone should reboot to fastbood mode.
Flash Stock Recovery using the same method used for twrp. (Step 3)
Reboot to Stock recovery using the same method used when rebooting to twrp. (Step 4!)
In EMUI Recovery, choose factory reset option, accept every warning and do factory reset.
Choose reboot / reboot to system. Phone should boot to Lineage OS now.

Fix MTP.
Fix NFC.
Fix flashing errors.

Looks like a great option to ditch Huawei's laggy EMUI 9 if everything works as expected and it seems like there will be no official updates anymore. I would gladly test it if my bootloader was unlocked.

I was able to unlock it by debranding to C432 June 2018 build and use DC to unlock it. actually I'm planning to release a fully worked android 10.

Yes, I've noticed the Android 10 topic and posts on Telegram which seems even more promising.
Yeah, it looks like there is no other way but to downgrade it to DC-unlockable version. Hopefully I could do this with a Mac or there is still Windows required like in the old days?
It would be very helpful if you post step-by-step guide about how to bring locked EMUI 9 phone to your Android 9/10 ROMs. Based on other topics there's a lot of potential users with locked phones out there.
Keep up the good work which seems better than OEM at this point and they already moved on! :good:

Is this a good rom to have on the p smart ?
Cause im tired of EMUI 9 which is laggy and im still under warranty

pls help me

if your phone is launched with emui 8.0 yes it's supported, for unlocking you have to be on june 2018 firmware to unlock it via dc-unlocker.

can you help with install

I have a problem with the gapps, I can't download applications like Facebook or Chrome.
and I can't go back to emui 9.1 unless I run out of wifi signal and lost imei.

[Recovery][27.09.2017][3.1.1-0] TWRP for the Huawei Mate 9 (hi3660)

Team Win Recovery Project 3.1.1-0
This has been tested and working great on MHA-L29 international dual sim model. It will work probably on all mate 9 devices, however I added a list of supported devices below which can be checked.
WARNING #1: Unlocking BL and flashing a custom recovery voids your warranty. Please make sure to contact your carrier/seller if your phone is still under warranty after unlocking the bootloader.
WARNING #2: Make sure you have enabled OEM unlock and unlocked bootloader before trying to flash this. How you can successful root and install TWRP will be described below.
WARNING #3: I have not yet fully tested the problems of dm-verity v2.0 introduced in Nougat. So as long as you don't need to modify /system, keep it read only. If you want to edit something inside system, make a backup until I can tell you more about it.
WHAT IS TWRP?
Oh come on, you know what it is - don't try to fool me!
In case you're serious, though...
Team Win Recovery Project is a custom recovery for Android devices.
It allows you to back up and restore your data, flash custom ROMs to your device, repair broken file systems, and root your device.
HOW-TO INSTALL
0. Make sure you enabled OEM unlock in settings, if you haven't please do that now by tipping 10 times on build number (to activate developer options), than open developer options and go to OEM unlock, enable it
1. Have an unlocked bootloader is required! (In my case, I called huawei and received the unlock code 12 hours later)
2. Download the TWRP recovery from the download section below
3. Make sure you got fastboot drivers installed (I will describe this below in how to unlock your bootloader)
4. Open the adb/fastboot application on your pc and go to the directory where your TWRP img file is downloaded
5. Boot your phone into download mode (First method: fastboot reboot-bootloader while connected to pc. Second method: power off your phone, hit power on and volume down until it boots to download mode)
6. Check again if there is written: unlocked phone!
7. If yes type now into your adb/fastboot terminal: fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.1.1-0-hi3660.img
8. Type: fastboot reboot
9. Now boot into recovery by pressing: power+volume up+volume down at the same time
10. Enjoy twrp
HOW-TO UNLOCK BOOTLOADER
1. Call Huawei in the HiCare app, request the bootloader unlock code there (I had to give my email, IMEI, serial number etc) or register yourself here on this link and get the code immediately!
2. You will receive an email maybe a few days or hours later with the unlock code, when you got it you can go on here
3. Install minimal adb and fastboot drivers from here: ADB and Fastboot drivers
4. Plug in your phone and make sure all huawei drivers got installed
5. Enable developer options in settings as described above.
6. Enable OEM unlock, enable USB debugging (both in developer options)
7. Open the adb tool you installed recently
8. Type fastboot devices (now a device number should show up)
9. Type fastboot reboot-bootloader (your phone will now boot into bootloader, if not, you haven't set up drivers or adb/fastboot correctly)
10. This step will wipe all your data! Type: fastboot oem unlock xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (xx is for your unlock code)
11. Ones it's done type: fastboot reboot. Your phone will reboot and you have an unlocked bootloader!
12. You can now go on installing TWRP on your device
HOW-TO ROOT YOUR MATE 9
0. Backup, just in case
1. Have an unlocked bootloader and TWRP installed from above
2. We will use this root method: Phh's superuser
3. Download latest official phh superuser zip r310 version
4. Put the zip on your external sd card of your phone (since we can't access /data in twrp)
5. Boot into twrp and flash the downloaded file
6. Install latest Material phh apk: Release post
7. Now you are rooted, congrats!

[ROM][UNOFFICIAL] LineageOS 15.1 for the Essential PH-1 (mata)

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 8.1 (Oreo), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
It should go without saying, but do not lock your bootloader with this installed. You must be 100% stock, I'd suggest on both slots, in order to re-lock your bootloader. Doing otherwise will likely lead to a brick that Essential really shouldn't warranty.
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.
*
*/
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.
Unofficial LineageOS Builds
Essential PH-1 (mata): https://updater.invisiblek.org/mata
Google apps
Google apps (opengapps nano) are baked in to these builds. This is due to the A/B partition layout and complications backing up/restoring gapps between builds. This is not ideal, and is the major road block to getting this device in to official status with Lineage. At this time I do not plan to release non-gapps builds. Users who require this will have to build their own.
Source
Device | Kernel
Here's a local_manifest for those who want to build at home.
Prerequisites
Unlocked bootloader
OPM1.180104.092 firmware - even if you were on this build, you should flash this firmware package to ensure the firmware is on BOTH slots.
Fastboot and ADB set up (use your google-fu to figure this out)
Installation
This device is different than what most people are familiar with due to the A/B partition layout. If you're familiar with Pixel devices, then you already know what this means. This thread isn't really designed to explain how it all works, that should be handled somewhere else. Instead, I'll assume you can either follow directions or do some research on your own. Additionally I have a discord set up where there are several people who may be able to help if you run in to a snag.
The initial install should go rather smooth, and future updates can be taken through the built-in Lineage updater app (yes, the are the seamless updates you may have heard about). Due to A/B, the recovery's ramdisk is actually on the boot.img partition (the rom's ramdisk is on the system partition now). What this means is once you flash the rom, it essentially (lol) replaces the TWRP that you have installed. This shouldn't be a problem since with the seamless updates, you shouldn't have to ever go into recovery. If you find yourself needing recovery, you'll have to re-flash TWRP to get there.
Phew, now some instructions.
See the prerequisites. You really do need these or things aren't going to work for you.
Boot into bootloader mode and wipe data with:
Code:
fastboot -w
Download twrp (mirror) and flash it with this command:
Code:
fastboot flash boot twrp-mata_11.img
(no, this isn't a typo, you are flashing twrp to the boot partition)
While still in bootloader mode, use vol down to select "Recovery mode" and hit the power button. This should boot you in to TWRP. Enter your previous lock screen password or pin (if it asks) to decrypt your data partition.
Put the device in sideload mode with:
Code:
adb shell twrp sideload
Install the zip via adb sideload with:
Code:
adb sideload <zip name here>
When finished, reboot.
Profit!
The LineageOS team would like to thank everyone involved in helping with testing, coding, debugging & documenting! Enjoy!

First time with an A/B device, so everytime you update with a new build to the updater site it will prompt us and begin updating in the background? Don't have to be specific with the process itself but I was just curious as I'd like to stay up to date as possible if I start the custom ROM endeavor since it's still early on in development. Thanks!
installing now.. OP the link to twrp is broken
Thanks OP!
Got it up and running, seems pretty solid for the first build. The initial setup wizard hung at the last step for me but after a reboot it worked.
Oh, and the night mode works great!
^TWRP link worked for me about 30 mins ago
Update: I have installed most all of my apps and have been playing around setting up the phone for the last ~30mins....no stutters, no mistouches, everything is working great. LTE+ on VZW works, as well as Verizon messaging app. The phone apk has the option for vvm, haven't tested. Overall I can't believe how well this runs...ROM development has come a long way from the initial releases I'm used to on non nexus devices.

Has installing lineage fixed the low signal strength problem for those people that have been experiencing it?
Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using Tapatalk
Works great! Found a wifi bug
Following the instructions posted, wifi stops working after flashing twrp and rebooting back into LOS. I flashed addonsu-14.1-arm64-signed.zip to enable App access to root. It worked, but wifi is broken on reboot. It turns itself off immediately after turning on.
Replication steps:
1. Follow steps in OP.
2. Reboot to bootloader (adb reboot-bootloader)
3. Flash twrp_mata-6.img (fastboot flash boot twrp.img)
4. adb push addonsu-14.1-arm64.zip /sdcard/
5. Install .zip in TWRP
6. Reboot
Anybody else getting this issue? The only way I've been able to fix it is to re-flash LOS.
EDIT: Thanks to @bmg1001, this issue is resolved (for me at least) by using this build of TWRP... Sorry, I can't post links yet! Can someone link this please?

Note that flashing this TWRP build will allow you to reboot to recovery at any time without having to reflash TWRP, as mentioned in the OP.

My signal strength improved from 2 bars to 3 bars at home, but I'm not sure if the reception has improved or just the number of bars displayed at certain signal strengths..

Thanks, but it sounds like @tclaybor is using a different version, provided to him by @bmg1001 , since you'll see he was trying to link a google drive to that version?

Thank you for the separate this from the other pie roms.
I will flash it after I arrive home.
Thank you all for the hard work!
Sent from my kagura using XDA Labs
I'm loving the fact Omnipie is official. I will be flashing this right now. Thank you so much.
Finally flashed! been using it for less than an hour, i can say that its definitely good for daily use. Camera seems better and hasnt crashed yet (like it use to), mic actually picks up audio properly, brightness slider is finally proportional to the brightness level, and its pie
however, the stereo speaker seems to muffle at high volumes (especially with the ringtones and less with youtube, but still a little prevelent), app opening times seem a little longer than 8.1, and 120HZ still doesnt work
im also curious why the linked odm isnt the latest one (im pretty sure the latest is 1st march not feb)
anyways, thanks dev! (may be editing this thread after more use for battery etc)

Ah, your correct it does say 8.1 my bad

I saw this version from delta updater (using 8.1 omni) and immediately downloaded flashed oem for pie and downloaded omni 9 but it stucked new omni animated logo. Waited like 10 minutes but nothing happened then rebooted phone but same thing happened. Should i wait more or something went wrong?
Im here with OmniROM freshly flashed trough Open Delta.
I have some problems. First boot never ends, BUT restart worked for me but I have another problem.
Now I need 10 min to unlock the phone when Im lucky.
I unlock with the code and then its instantly relock and it say I cant use fingerprint for first unlock, so I use code again and not work again and still can't use fingerprint.
I do this A LOT OF TIME before I can use my phone. Sometimes it helps sometimes not if I not unlock my phone but use corner dial icon first and then if its ask for code i use it and then I got SystemUI crash error again and again and again.
As I said I try to repeat this methods for like 10 min after every restart. I tried to delete some maybe not compatible apps with this new update but still nothing. Now I will remove some Magisk modules. I will write again.

you need to do a full wipe before upgrading to p
Just as @oshmoun said; before flashing new ROMs, it's imperative to do full wipe (if you don't want to lose all your data, then do a full backup in TWRP), as flashing without full wiping can cause TONS of problems. Don't be lazy and follow the instructions properly.

I used the same rom before but the last update. I updated through OpenDelta.
Hello !
It's cool to see our XZ is alive !
I have some problems with this rom after a full wipe and update to oem V6 :
- no sounds during calls, no mic, no earphone, no sounds on speaker
- Magisk 18.1 not working
- With official camera app, while using the flash, only the autofocus led is lit, the second and much powerful led is never triggered resulting on dark shots
For now that's all
Thx
Performance is somewhat distressed and the camera does not work for the sound is not working after restarting the device is improving

you cant do that. its pretty misleading having it available on that opendelta ota thingy. you have to follow the instructions in this thread
Flashed data, cache and dalvik, factory reset. And installed latest nightly with gapps and magisk 18.1.
Only reason I did it this way is because I was on a unofficial build on Omni. Everything is working as it should. Very snappy and no lag. Still have to see how the ROM handles after it's settled for a couple day, but right off the bat it's amazing. Thank you very much Dev, and happy to see you back on XDA.

Why this ROM showed up as an update then?
I just don't understand it.
Nevermind this is my main and only phone and I work 4 days straight before I can use my PC so I need to use this ROM buggy for me. :/

You need a PC to flash this. Follow all steps in order and it'll work. Always remember, unless you have a messaging app that backups texts, you will lose them flashing a cfw. Always always backup anything you don't want to lose.

I've had a reoccurring issue on the unofficial and official builds so far. I do not have the option to use my phone when calling unless speaker phone or a Bluetooth headset. I cannot put the phone to my head and use normally. Is there any kind of option to fix this nuisance. Any feedback is truly appreciated
Every 9.0 ROM I ever flash, I always seem to have the same problem. Whether its dirty flashing, or starting with flashtool, to CMD, and then to TWRP, the same problem seems to happen. After the ROM has settled, audio quality through calls becomes a huge problem. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but it has been a persistent bug, next chance I get for the next nightly ill send a logcat, kinda cant not since back on stock. I need good call quality for work lol. Either way, thank you for bringing OMNI to 9.0 official
anyone having problems with video playback? videos dont play on instagram, youtube or snapchat. using magisk 18.1 and latest omni 9 rom
edit: nvm, found out that the Google camera fix module for magisk was the problem

Development [CLOSED] LineageOS Rom for Pixel 5a Android 12 - July 31, 2022

You MUST be on Android 12 to use this!!!!!
If your not, you must flash a Google factory image for Android 12 Barbet
This is based on the Android Open Source Project. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. It does still include various proprietary hardware-specific code.
Gapps must be flashed separately and are not included in this ROM.
All the source code is available in the Github repo here.
Thanks go to Github and LineageOS for their source code and device specific code. I couldn't have built this without it!!!
The ROM uses the LineageOS source code, device specific code and proprietary blobs. I made other minor changes and used compression to lower the file size of the ROM, creating more space in the internal storage with minor reduction in performance. Repo Synced every three days to keep the code base fresh. Also updated daily with minor changes.
NO NEED TO DOWNLOAD PE BARBET ZIPS. THAT PERTAINS TO MY OTHER ROM!!!!!
DOWNLOAD TWRP, ROM & GAPPS HERE
#1 REBOOT TO BOOTLOADER
#2 FACTORY RESET: fastboot -w
#3 BOOT TWRP (DO NOT FLASH IT!!!): fastboot boot twrp.img
#4 SIDELOAD ROM IN TWRP: ADVANCED, ADB SIDELOAD
adb sideload lineage-19.1-20220731-UNOFFICIAL-barbet.zip
#5 SIDELOAD GAPPS: adb sideload SayaGapps-12.1-20220806-signed.zip
#6 REBOOT TO SYSTEM
#7 REBOOT TO LINEAGE RECOVERY IF YOU WISH TO ROOT
SIDELOAD MAGISK.APK
adb sideload magisk.apk
#8 REBOOT TO SYSTEM
Screen call and Google assistant works.
Hello if there any list with updates for your linage ROM?
Did you try to build any other custom ROM? if you think that there could be some issues with ROM without gapps included, maybe try evox? This ROM included gapps, and have lots of customization

I have upgraded from the Pixel 5a to the Pixel 6 Pro. Because I don't have the device anymore, I will more than likely not support development for this phone anymore.

WARNING! This won't work on a bootloader with version U4! Flashing won't work and so you will not be able to use this guide. Unfortunately, you can also currently not downgrade the bootloader, making it impossible to get any custom stuff (custom recovery, custom ROM, etc.) on your device...
Hello there! This is another guide from me here on XDA Developers! Today, I will show you how to install LineageOS 20 on an SM-T290 and SM-T295, and yes, it works on both! Let's get started:
PrerequisitesBut first, make sure you have all of this:
An SM-T290 or SM-T295 tablet
TWRP (v3.7.0 recommended for SM-T290 and v3.5.2 for SM-T295)
Unlocked bootloader
1. Download LineageOS 20 ZIP from here (There stands it is for gtowifi, but it also works on the LTE model).
2. Choose the nightly build for the ZIP, it is very stable even though it is nightly.
3. OPTIONAL BUT I DO NOT RECOMMEND: You could also choose the recovery, but that's more like the stock recovery and I recommend you to keep TWRP as it has better features.
4. Download the ZIP that has the format 'lineage-20.0-YYYYMMDD-nightly-gtowifi-signed.zip'
- OPTIONAL: Download the recovery image for LineageOS 20 with the format 'lineage-20.0-YYYYMMDD-recovery-gtowifi.img'.
5. Download MindTheGapps from here.
6. Choose the one with the format 'MindTheGapps-13.0.0-arm64-YYYYMMDD_BBBBBB.zip'
7. Follow the links to download the ZIP file.
8. Place the LineageOS and MindTheGapps ZIP to an SD card or USB drive. If you choose to also take LineageOS recovery, you will also need to place the .IMG to an SD card or USB drive.
9. Insert the SD card or USB drive into your tablet.
10. Boot the device into TWRP.
11. Go to 'Wipe' > 'Swipe to Wipe'.
12. Then go once again to 'Wipe' > 'Format data' > 'Swipe to format'.
13. Go to install, make sure that it is not install image but as flash ZIP!
14. Use the select storage button to choose the storage where the ZIPs are saved.
15. Choose the LineageOS 20 ZIP and swipe to install.
16. Wait until it is done and now install MindTheGapps.
17. Optional step (depending on whether you have the following things):
- Install Magisk (root) ZIP if you have it. You could also do this later on.
- Install LineageOS recovery ZIP if you have chosen to use it. This can also be done later.
17. Click on 'Reboot system' or go to 'Reboot' > 'System'.
18. Wait until the boot is done.
19. Go through the setup, but WAIT! First read the step below.
20. Depending on whether you have LineageOS recovery or TWRP, you need to enable the option 'Auto-update LineageOS Recovery/LOS Recovery' in the setup if you have LineageOS/LOS Recovery and disable that if you have TWRP.
21. Once the setup completed, you are done!
That was easy to follow. Thank you.

Yes. I was previously running a GSI, but I like this better.
I'm not using Gapps, so I just skipped para. 16. I did install Magisk.
Does OTA update work with TWRP, or only with Lineage recovery?

It does work with TWRP. It uses an OpenRecoveryScript. If you have Gapps (which you don't have), you need to reflash them afterwards. Also Magisk needs to be reflashed, but it is much easier to do than the stock!
How does this tablet with LineageOS work now?
Has it become more responsive than the original Samsung ROM or does it continue to suffer from the same exasperating slowness that characterized it?

I'm not sure, but it has some good features though. Some parts are a bit buggy, but most are not. It's also much faster.
Hello, thank you for the installation guide. Used my T290 and everything was working perfectly fine... I then decided to use LineageOS for MicroG and also everything ist working...
LineageOS 20 for MicroG:
gtowifi
My other SM-T295 is now on Bootloader5 (T295XXS5CWA1) so I think there is no way anymore to get LineageOS 20 on it. I now ordered a "new" SM-T295, which is supposed to be on Android 9. When I use the Guide above, is the cellular modul and LTE working with the CustomRom? Or should I use the GSI? Why is it such a different between those two devices?

Hello there! LTE will not be included, but you have 2 workarounds:
Make a hotspot over Wi-Fi with your phone or any other SIM device
Use the GSI ROM, which may have support
Well, LTE doesn't work, because of this: LineageOS is made on base of the drivers and packages of the device. And, they are almost the same I think, that's why the other stuff will or should work. But, the SM-T295 also has a driver and/or package for the SIM, LTE and so. And because it was originally made for the SM-T290, instead of an SM-T295, it will not include those drivers and so the support for it. You could try a GSI, although I had issues with it. But I may have done it wrong or so.., I always say: if there is an official custom ROM, use that over GSI, because it was really made for the device and includes the drivers and packages for the device. Although I don't really know whether GSI is bad, it may also work correctly..., if you try GSI, and it doesn't work, you could take a look at this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/gsi-lte-fix.3925151/
