Question I want leave miui - some questions - Xiaomi Mi 11

Hi, it would like you guys or girls to have answer to some questions. I want use pixel experience cause good support is on it and work gsi 13 with it ok beta
1) what camera app is good? It is possible to make HDR 10 videos? Like stock camera
2) what gallery app is good?

1) I do not have experience with this phone, but I know that as long as your phone doesn't do most of the photo rendering with the software, any camera app, including stock, works just as well
2) any gallery app should work well, that is ,unless you want some specific special feature.

I am on mi 11 lite 4g, currently using vanilla build of nusantara project and loving it so fqr

This is no answer. I wrote two questions

There is no good gcam, at best it will be just ok for photo, but for video it will be awful. That's why i went back to MIUI even if i hate it and battery life is worse.
Trust me, do not waste your time flashing rom custom if you want good camera.

Thx

There is a bunch of ROMs out here for this device, just try them all and see what fits best for you,
Also, AnxCamera is here but in BETA state. And any gallery app is good, you can even re-install the one from MIUI

[Q] HTC One Stock Camera

Hello guys,
i just looked a video about the htc ones slow motion function. I^ve tried it with the cyanogenmod 11 build in camera, but it crashes when i chose hdr and i cant find the slowmo function, so i`m looking for the htc ones stock camera app. Ive already tried to search it via google but without any results. Are there any possibilitys to install the 4.3 stock Camera on cm 11?
Thanks a lot!

Sorry to disappoint, but this is not possible. The HTC Camera app uses code that is a part of HTC's Sense UI. Without a stock Sense Rom, you cannot install the Sense Camera, which is a shame.
The biggest problem is that the code related to the camera app is not open source, so Devs cannot really use it to port the app to AOSP/CM roms.
Hopefully some genius dev will be able to replicate the function of the required code, and port over the camera, but it is not really a priority for any of them right now.

oh, well, i allready thaught so..
it seems, that the camera app is a vergy good work from htc. As i heard, it comes with the best slowmo quality until now.. what should i do now? are there any better ways then taking the stock rom? I really like the design of 4.4 , but the batterylife decrease slightly. I think i would take a custom rom with sense, so i can delete some stock roms. Is that possible?

I think you meant you would delete/replace some of the stock apps on a rooted Sense rom... Am I correct?
If so, yes. I personally would vouch for ViperOne. The team is super amazing. They have quick, over-the-air updates, and their rom is rock solid stable. To delete apps, you can use Rom Cleaner (just search the XDA forums in the general android development) I can provide links 2morrow when I get back home bcoz my phone doesn't show the XDA search bar lol.
But an even better approach than removing apps yourself is to Use Eragon Rom. I have a link here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2423492&highlight=eragon
The developer removed the sense launcher and everything, but kept some apps like the camera, gallery, dialer, and sound equalizer. It is pretty smooth, and tbh, the Dev is a nice, helpful guy.
Hope I helped

I do believe Eragon has the HTC gallery app as well. In fact, I am sure, because it supports HTC Zoe, which requires the HTC gallery.

Yes it work smooth and nice . Also the camera back to normal
the best rom actually...
How about led notification, vibration, slow motion, compass and focus?
yeah, what about bugs?
just installed this version. Still no vibration for now. Camera is working smoothly, running so fast and smooth. Don't know about battery duration.. hope it will be better than the stock one.
Could you report how the battery's doing? I'd be very interested

Battery is better than MIUI rom here
I just flashed it. It's incredible! Fast and snappy.
I'll test for tomorrow.. all day and I will report here my battery findings.
newbie question.... how do you flash this rom into redmi note 2? and I assume if I want to go back to MIUI, i just reflash using the fastboot method?
You can start here to get TWRP on it and then it is basically the same as always: http://en.miui.com/thread-152550-1-1.html
and if you want to go back to miui just create a Backup in TWRP once installed and copy it to your PC to be safe.
Fastboot is also fine if you want to do a complete clean install including default Miui recovery. Cheers.
nice, it has been long since I had something AOSP, thanks!
in any case, ROM seems to be running very smooth, no insights on the battery life yet.
few bugs are present though - adaptive brightness is really sensitive to light changes.
as everyone reported - no vibration
lock screen and screen timeout is somehow sketchy, but working.
notifications led seems to be working (atleast low battery and charging are shown)
camera is also working fine (no slowmo though)
Thanks for the replies!
I installed it tonight and so far it seems stable and very smooth. I'll report on batterylife later on

Battery pretty good. Using this rom with xposed gravity box. No vibration though.

Best Marshmallow 6.0 ROM for Z3C

Hello everyone!
As i know SLIMM is the best ROM for this device. But now it is discontinued, so there is the question: is it still the best?
And please owners of this device who tried different ROMs, give the advice, which one should I install (i want to install stock based custom MM ROM).
For me in priority is functionality, stability and performance coupled with good battery life.
So I have a question about kernel: should I install EliteKernel 3 instead stock kernel (or maybe Advanced Stock kernel)?
I'm not a newbie, but there are really a lot of ROMs and i'm a bit confused...
Also, are there some good MODs for this device(like Cyberian Camera)?
P.S. Sorry for my not ideal english.

I use Concept Plus ROM with the Kernel 12c custom kernel.
Having an amazing experience with it so far.
The only problem I have is bluetooth headphones but if you dont use bluetooth accessories this shouldn't matter much.
For camera mods I use Cyberian(yes even if not compatible).
Even though it ain't compatible part of it does work, the camera app which comes with the mod doesn't work but everything else does. The camera snaps photos much faster and overall better quality.

Mate Concept ROM Plus is based on Sony's Concept Software,it is theoretically stock.
But between those I would go Existenz.

Well I haven't used it personally but I believe it was definitely the most popular and best ROM for Z2 before it was ported to Z3c.
It has lots and lots of customization options as you may have saw.
And by reading the thread replies from all of these ROMs,I have saw that people don't really complain much about issues regarding ExistenZ rom.
The best way to know is to try it out, create a backup and flash the ROM,if it ain't working well revert back to your backup and you are solid.
Concept Rom may sometimes get weird. By that I mean it had the lollipop's YouTube and Video Recording issue, though that can be fixed by changing some system file parameters. I used Concept and I loved the design, stock Google design and I loved it. I've used SliMM for ages. Whenever I tried a new ROM I just had to revert back to SliMM. Because it has the best battery life for me with the best performance. I'm using ExistenZ ROM now, hadn't have any issues but to be honest, battery life is worse than SliMM also the performance too (even though a little bit). I'm using ExistenZ right now because it has many customizations in itself which means lack of many xposed modules, which means (somewhat) better stability. I'm thinking of reverting back to SliMM though, FYI. I tried the EXPERIENCE ROM too. And it was a total disaster for me. Because I didn't like the modifications that Marilia has made into the ROM and I simply couldn't live with it, the phone felt a bit too childish. All in all, the best was always SliMM for me. If you have any question, shoot it mate! (I haven't tried the MX ROM)

I am using Experience and i like it. Even adoptable storage shows free space right. Battery is good, about 2 days with 5 hours screen on time. Supersu update from playstore works fine. Very good and stable rom. I have tested AOXP and MX rom. Both works but Experience was easy to make look like stock with 16 GB adoptable storage.

The only proper answer for this question is and will ever be: Try them and find it out for your own.
You are already know the four candidates and now its up to you... All four are working. None of them is a failure!
As you see from the given answers everyone has other preferences and whishes.
There is no better or not here...
But if you want to:
Try all four ROMs, use each for one week and make a Rundup of them. Sure - this will reflect only your optinion in particualr but may help other to decide. As faar as I know such an comparrision is not existing up to now.
Actually this is want you are askiung for...

Besides Pie, What does Xiaomi.eu offer that the original rom doesn't?

Is it worth it? And would you choose this over lineage?
It looks like a unified rom, so I'm a bit concerned if my experience will be limited.

Original roms offer Pie too now. I prefer .eu and the main reasons is the easy way to update it (my device is rooted), the extended power menu function and the app Theme woks (on the original rom in my country doesn't)
The key features that xiaomi.eu roms lacks are hide notch option, swipe up to unlock after face recognition and better notification integration with notch. That's why I am using aosp based roms.
for me the main advantage is ability to run my phone rooted, encrypted and selinux enforcing. and advanced power menu. all in all the rom is pretty stock. custom miui like ros or miuipro had a problem with GPS the last time I tested, which was about two months ago.

Is GCam working well on Lineage?

Hey,
I'm thinking about buying Pixel 5 and ungoogle it to certain level (I will most likely use microg). Does a modded GCam works as well as a stock Gcam? I know most of the pixel's camera quality comes from software, hence my question.
yeah, it does work reliably! I'm running PX Mod v8.1 on LineageOS 18.1 without any gapps except Gcam Services Provider.

Alright, thanks! I'm assuming the quality is same, right?
By the way, out of curiosity, how much does you battery endure without gapps?
I can't compare the camera quality because I never used the stock version. I installed LOS right after getting my Pixel 5. the battery lasts about 12-18 hours, but i can't compare to stock here either though.

Do you know if it is possible to install the stock camera on lineage with microg or with the gcam services provider? I pretty much love the results of the stock cam.
Sorry about these newbie questions, by the way.
I tried a couple of times but it doesn't work for me. which is odd because the general consensus on the internet seems to be that it should. I never tried to install it using any gapps though, maybe that's why.
also your questions are perfectly fine, don't worry! not knowing stuff shouldn't be a reason for derision.
Yeah, I want to try and stay clear of Google with this phone (quite ironically, though), but not having the camera at its best is a dealbreaker for me.
I had the exact same thoughts! the irony of de-googling a Google device is very funny, although it's kind of...normal? I mean, both CalyxOS and GrapheneOS favour the Pixel phones. also it's like, a middle finger in Googles face lol
another thing I should probably mention about camera apps: I can't seem to access the ultra wide angle lens in third party apps and manual focus doesn't seem to work either in those. that might just be my device/setup though.
For me is that it is the perfect phone to buy today.. I currently have an S7, which I love, but it's getting old (not charging sometimes, camera getting blurry, sad, really). So I've looking for a phone with the same specs - good camera, battery and at the same size (I hate current phone sizes).
I've reading on the lineage thread about people using gcam but with google service.. which i really want to avoid. I want to use, at max, microg. Thanks for the feedback, man.
you're welcome, hope you find what you're looking for!
My pixel will arrive the next day, can you directly suggest a gcam for LOS, with link please.
Thanks.
Sure!
Hi. Can you, please, help with the correct GCam app link for Pixel 3a XL running Lineage OS 18.1 (Android 11)? I became confused while trying to find something suitable.
Thanks in advance!
