Question How can I find out if my phone is spes or spesn model? - Redmi Note 11 (spes/spesn)

My Redmi Note 11 model is 4GB+64GB

As far as I know the only difference is NFC. Look under Connection and Sharing in Settings and scroll down to NFC.

Hi Pulsar,
As mentioned in the other post, if you download MIUI Downloader and run that. It will tell you exactly what device you have, and what official firmwares are available.
The only difference is whether your have NFC or not... So will be a spes or spesN (if nfc).
Cheers, Lister

Possible to flash spesN fastboot rom for spes?
Difference NFC and carrier aggregation.
Spes support only intraband carrier aggregation, but spesN support interband.

While you're locked, probably, the stock recovery refuse to do so, but if you are unlocked, you can. It doesn't hurt to try it, if you can flash it, no harm goes on.

Difference between reteu and retus?

Hello,
Can someone tell me what are the differences between stock ROMs for reteu and retus? Do they support different frequency bands? Any other differences?
Reason I am asking is that my phone (XT1805) has an unlocked bootloader, TWRP recovery and Magisk installed. So I can not install OTA's. But I can't find a reteu stock ROM for the XT1805, only retus.
Edit: on gsmarena.com I found some specs (no frequency bands however). According to that specs the EU version (XT1805) has NFC, the US version (XT1806) doesn't. The EU version has dual SIM, the US version doesn't.
So, does anyone know where I can download the latest reteu stock ROM for the XT1805?
yes, different frequnecy bands and US versions has 4GB of RAM with 64GB memory. frequnecy bands are not a feature of a ROM, but is a capability of CPU though I've seen some reports that you can unlock bands with software if supported by CPU. you can actually find different bands on gsmarena (you need to expand this list). by default it shows All Variants, and you can switch between XT1805 and XT1806 (right below the Reviews Opinions Compare in the desktop version of the website). For example, XT1806 doesn't have band 20 which is important for EMEA region. I can confirm that XT1805 has NFC and two sim cards. Single sim is XT1803 for EU.
there's also another variant of XT1805, not the EU version, which has 4G of RAM. I believe it's available in Australia and maybe some other south Asia countries like Malaysia or Indonesia.
I don't this you will be able to flash stock ROM from 1806 into 1805 and vice versa. The ROMs are probably the same except some regional stuff like preinstalled applications other than Google services.

Band 17 support?

So I was about to buy the phone but wanted to verify LTE bands first. The seller lists B17 support, but the Mi9 web page at Xiaomi's site does NOT list band 17 support. I find this strange, since the Mi8 does support B17 and the Mi Mix 3S supports B17. So Is there any real confirmation on whether the Mi 9 does or does not support this LTE band? Is the lack of it being listed at Xiaomi site just a type?

So does that mean only Chinese versions support this and I must buy Chinese version and run Chinese ROM to get band 17 support to work with ATT? I would rather flash to Global ROM, but I am thinking that Global kernel or other firmware may remove B17 support? Can the Global ROM be run on China firmware? They do say China ROM support English....

I'd definitely trust Xiaomi's official site more than anywhere else, if you check Xiaomi's official site for Spain (which sells the Global variant) it doesn't list band 17..
Flashing Global on a Chinese device or vice versa doesn't affect the bands as far as I'm aware, there's evidence of Xiaomi hardware locking the bands on the Pocophone, forum links below:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/help/poco-f1-lte-bands-unlock-t3835467
https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/how-to/pocophone-lte-band-unlock-report-t3848193
If you buy a Chinese Mi 9 then you should be able to flash the Global ROM, same as all previous Xiaomi's, however you have to keep the bootloader unlocked once flashed, trying to relock will result in a brick
These steps were for a MI Note, but may work with the MI 9:

I'm seeing some contrary information out there about what phone has what bands. Is there a code I can enter in dialer to see all available bands on my device? All I see is that I'm currently connected with B2 in *#*#4636#*#* and various apps I've picked up. I'm wanting to see exactly what's available in the device in my hand rather than specs on 4 different websites(with different values). The primary website I'm looking at is showing me I made a mistake with getting the 8/256 transparent china rather than the 12/256 but I'd really like to know for sure(especially since I'm currently not experiencing any problems with AT&T). It was easy with my W10M phone(##2382#) but I'm a bit lost with Android.
Unfortunately for me it didn't work. Like I said, 4G + appears on my phone screen, but the apps don't connect and I can't even use the browser because it says I'm not connected. Already tried to fix APN settings, checked if I had LTE on, but nothing worked. The internet only works if I have H+ on the screen. And now I have another problem: I downloaded my original parameters before switching to the modified ones, but now when resetting my original parameters and restarting, the phone remains without a network signal. The IMEI numbers are correct, the settings are ok, but I still have no network signal. Does anyone know how to fix this, or have the original .xqcn file to send me? Thanks.

well global firmware(if there is such a thing) would be more towards the n960f since it is more popular and also the same same chipset as ure phone. its sold in UK, greater asia, india, Oceania etc...)
the n9600 is a snapdragon chip. and only sold in china and south America.
but regardless you cant flash stock firmware on different model devices. its a known fact.
if you root then u can flash custom n960f roms no problem on the n960n.(i have it too and been flashing all sorts of custom roms made for the F variant)

u cannot flash any other stock firmware than n960n with odin.
if you want to flash a custom rom.zip , you need to install twrp recovery and root. this will void warranty and also trip knox and some services will no longer work:
samsung pay
might be others.
please read the guides and discussion forums for more information on rooting.

what do you think, because I am a beginner I better use the current stock ROM (N960N) or have to replace another ROM? actually I just don't like Korean accents and Korean network operator logos when I turn it on or trun off my device because I'm already outside Korea. then what is the ROM recommendation for me?

As a beginner the best and most important thing you need to do is research and read up on these topics.
Head over to the development forum and see what each rom offers and choose the one which sounds most suitable for you.
None of us can answer whats best for you dude only you know that.
The nice thing is you can flash and try out as many roms as you want!

I too want to flash the Spanish stock ROM, so as to get rid of d the bloatware and also to use Samsung Pay. A friend of mine told me to buy the Korean version and then flash the Spanish stock ROM, which he did with his note 8 and didn't trigger Knox. I'm getting the Secure Check Fail: Bootloader error when trying to flash with Odin, it's stuck at SYSTEM flashing. Don't know what to do anymore, tried rebooting everything, changing USB ports, running Odin as an admin, and flashing different versions of Android.
Can anyone help?

I know for a fact that the Korean variant of the Note 9 and the international variant both run on the exact same hardware. With the only differences being in the bloatware included with the Korean variant. So theoretically speaking installing the Spanish N960F/D variant's OS onto the N960N should work perfectly without any issues

it work only if you flash a custom ROM, even thought they are the same but you cannot flash a F/D firmware with odin in N model, it mos be a bootloader thing or something else.
by the way the n9600 is a snapdragon model so that is even more impossible.

Will the K20 Pro being sold on Flipkart tomorrow be the chinese model?

I'm very confused.
Flipkart are selling K20 Pros in a flash sale tomorrow. Are these the same as the ones sold on other websites?
I read somewhere that Indian K20 Pros will have a different devie codename and take different ROMs. Some people say they won't have NFC, and others say it's a software limitation.

Any model sold in India via official partners like Mi.com/Flipkart will be the Indian Model codename Raphaelin. NFC is not of much use currently in India and its forced disabled from the software at the time being on 10.3.3.0 Future OTA's might trigger and activate it but no one knows that for sure as there was no mention of NFC during the launch, however users who have unlocked and flashed EU roms have NFC enabled so the hardware is definitely present.
The Chinese variant is not sold here and the code name is Raphael.
You may visit this thread running to mention the existing issues users have reported.

Yes, but you'll need to flash a fastboot ROM with the Mi Flash Tool.
You'll lose Widevine L1 and gain NFC.

Carrier Aggregation ( 4g+/ Lte+)

Hey guys,
Anyone tried flashing xiaomi EEA rom or EEA modem on other devices ( raphaelin, raphael, etc), as the EEA rom supports more of the bands required for carrier aggregation (CA) ?, we will definitely see a bump in network speeds, as the current ones aren't upto the mark, xiaomi cheaped out on CA, not buying licenses from Qualcomm. So i guess, this is worth a shot, I understand that EEA isn't updated as frequently, but still?
Thanks
The ROM has nothing to do with what bands are supported. Flashing a different ROM will not enable or disable any bands
Bands are dependant on the modem which is only editable through a specific qualcomm tool
As far as I know still 855 SoC is not supported in this tool
It is not a file you can flash through fastboot or recovery

This is the same tool that had been used to enable bands. It does it by modifying the nvram but the modem on the K20 Pro is locked so the nvram cannot be modified. There is already a similar tool that supports the SD855 but it doesn't work on the K20 Pro because of its locked modem
