Question ECG function w/o galaxy phone - Samsung Galaxy Watch 5

So is the ECG function just useless unless it's paired with a galaxy phone? Can't install the Samsung Health Monitor on my phone because I don't have the Galaxy Store and can't install Galaxy Store because it's not a galaxy phone (It's a OnePlus 8T). Anyway to get it to work?

i think theres the dante mod.
but i don't think its out for galaxy watch 5 yet

Gear 2 with Note 2 compatibility

Hi
I have Note 2 running stock rom updated to Android 4.3.
Planning to get the Gear 2 / Neo . My decision to buy the same is basically because of the health options i.e. pedometer, heart rate monitor etc. which sync to S Health.
However, as note 2 does not have S-Health, will we get an upgrade from Samsung to use the watch to its fullest.
Thanks
I have the exact same question. I'm running Omni ROM 4.4.2 and hope I can make the Gear 2 Neo work with it.

Samsung Gear is compatible with 18 types of device models :
Samsung Galaxy S5 / Galaxy Grand 2 / Galaxy Note 3 / Galaxy Note 3 Neo / Galaxy Note 2 / Galaxy S4 / Galaxy S3 / Galaxy S4 Zoom / Galaxy S4 Active / Galaxy S4 mini /

I take no credit for this, but did some digging and found the APK for you:

Install that guy and you're good to go. I would assume Samsung will eventually release the app officially for all supported devices, or maybe the Gear will have a download for it.. either way, you should be good.
On my US Verizon Note 2, I just received an over the air update providing an integration app. called: "Fitness with Gear", so looks like someone is listening...

I have a note 2 and just got my gear2 neo yesterday. It is working perfectly so far, just that there are no apps for it yet. Notifications is great but i have not tried the health app yet.
I am with Note2 Rogers

My experience with neo on stock rom is better than the 4.2.2. ROMS which are all based on google bluetooth drivers, which are not very good.
On stock you have way better bluetooth connection, no lag while playing music from neo etc.
As for the health options, they're not very good at the moment and I would not recommend you to buy neo if you want accurate health tracking.

Can somebody confirm if this works? I think you need one of the latest updates from Shealth to make it work with gear2.

A. I didn't code to buy a Tizen, I choose the look of the watch
B. I am not technical enough
C. Thanks for offering
I hate to say it, but WearOS might be on life support. So no Apple or Samsung, obviously...Moto appears pretty much done with smartwatches....Huawei might be banned in the US...So not many people left making good WearOS watches, for starters. And no one with the cutting edge tech of Apple or Samsung, or even Fitbit really.
Fitbit might the only chance to save WearOS. Polar/Garmin have some serious hardware, but they are gaudy and beastly fitness devices. I'd consider springing for TAG, if they had all the bells and whistles of Apple or Samsung. Fossil has some nice watches out there but in terms of features they're always 1-2 generations behind.
After the announcement of Galaxy watch 4 having wear os I wonder if we can flash wear os on the watch 3 or active 2

One of the reasons for having Wear OS in GW3 is the absence of Samsung pay in the Czech Republic. So GW4 will be the first Samsung watch with which it will be possible to pay in the Czech Republic. I have six months of GW3 titanium and I'm quite annoyed that I can't pay with them.
I'm not sure if the GW3 processor is even capable of running WearOS. Probably.
But there are other hardware differences that would make this very difficult if not impossible. The chance of WearOS coming to GW3 in the next year, maybe ever, is extremely remote.
You're better off selling your GW3 and putting the money towards GW4.

Since this watch is using the same SoC on the Pixel Watch, is there any chance of getting WearOS?

Samsung S10e - no more GearVR?!

OK, I used my good old S10e only for GearVR. Last day it installed update and told me: "F U dear customer, your GearVR is now paperweight".
What would be the best strategy to
1) DOWNGRADE the firmware to previous or any good version
2) obtain (where?) GearVR binaries to reinstall?
I'm in the exact same ****ing boat except I have an S10 Plus. I use it for Samsung oculus vr often. It pisses me off how it was just removed like that and I to updated yesterday. Have you made and headwind on finding a solution?
I aslo have S10+ and I use Gear VR very often.
Waiting for some great man to provide a method to make it working on Android 12 One UI 4.0
I also hope for a workaround to get gearvr running on s10 android 12
I'm in the same boat. Unfortunately i updated my s10+ to G975FXXUGHVJ5, and the last android 11 rom is G975FXXSEFUL1, so i got scr*wed. No downgrade as the bootloader binary has been updated, and searching for a gearVR apps backport solution, comes up empty. Last time i bought a Samung. They've became what i've always despised about apple.

Question GW5 Pro (X9ZH) compatibility issues with newly Oppo Find X6 Pro

I'm getting a msg that this watch isn't supported on this phone.
I connected successfully a GW Active 2 (tizen based) just fine though.
Is it a compatibility issue that should probably be solved in one of the upcoming updates from either Samsung with Galaxy Wearable or from Oppo?
I know Oppo supports WearOS smartwatches just fine and as a matter of fact their own watches use it.
Or is it because Find X6Pro is Chinese only model has issues and I need to root my device? And if so what is the proper procedure/rom?
Any advice or ideas would be welcome. Thanks in advance!
Anyone?

Same here. My GW5 pro won’t connect to my find 6 pro. No work around found. I was thinking of trying a pixel watch. Might be a wear os3 issue. Wear Os 2 was compatible (to an extent) with os. Wear os 3 isn’t .
