Question Redmi note 10 5g mi account problem - POCO M3 Pro / Redmi Note 10 5G

I have a Redmi note 10 5g which I performed a factory reset - it booted back to the mi account screen and asked for password - the password was forgotten and the phone number is not accessible anymore because the sim is lost.
I have gone to the xiaomi site and submitted a request for a code with the information they asked for , but after 3 days have not received a SMS or any other contact from them.
the phone displays the unlocked symbol on boot
I can get the phone to fastboot and connect to windows computer running MiFlash and it will see the phone
can I just flash a 3rd party ROM with MiFlash and bypass/delete all the xiaomi account nonsense ?
or what are my options as a way forward to get this phone to a usable state ?
I have been reading the forums and lots of people seem to have had similar problems with their mi account but I have not seen a definitive solution posted that seems correct or else there is a lot of steps etc that seem to be jumbled or not explained neatly.
thanks for any help

There is an official removal of the account

You need to remove the Mi Lock via a paid server
by unlocking code (Offical remove)

ok - where do I find these paid server and how much do they cost ?

Unfortunately, unlocking will cost a lot
You need worldwide service

is this really the only answer ? why when I have access to the hardware , I am unable to do what I want ?
I own the phone , but it is basically a brick - I will attempt to get the phone number back with a new sim card from the teleco

If you restore the SIM card
Easily your device can be unlocked

I managed to get the phone number back from the telco and activated the phone
with the SIM card , I inserted into another phone and went to the xiaomi site , used the phone number and said I had lost the password - they sent me a confirmation code via SMS which then allowed me to change the password and then activate the phone with that password.
I started up the phone and went to settings -> Xiaomi account which showed that account was signed in on the phone
then I signed out of the account
this whole exercise has been a bit of an eye opener and makes me want to get a ASOP ROM onto the xiaomi phone as soon as possible - they make nice hardware for the prices , but this OS and the seeming need to access your data is a bad problem
many countries in the world have people who need to watch every bit of data their phone uses because of the cost , but so many of these companies have no qualms about just using a lot of it for their own gain - it is just immoral

Yes, since you have an unlocked bootloader and fastboot, you should be able to flash a 3rd party ROM.

MI8 Brick

Hi there,
unfortunately I bricked my Mi8 during a ROM Flash. I could not see the options as they were "hidden" because of the resolution of my screen. And unfortunately the standard option seems to be "lock", so it did and now I cannot flash any ROM anymore.
Is the method with opening the phone and get in touch with a doggy service to unlock it still up date?
Is there anything I could do? Will Xiaomi help me if I write them an email?
Help would be much appreciated.
Well, not knowing what you flashed and how you did it, it's hard to give an advice.
Can you boot to recovery, fastboot?
If you want some "output" you have to give more "input".
Is you phone recognized if you connect it to the pc? Perhaps you can revive it with mi flash and a complete rom (tgz). Be aware of the danger of relock!
I know I did a mistake as i flashed it wrong as I did not choose the correct setting (just clean instead of clean and lock). I did not see the options when I did the flash as they were "hidden". The Bootloader is locked and therefore I cannot flash another ROM.
I can get into fastboot, no problem. But I cannot load a ROM (Bootloaderbis locked).
I do wonder if there is any way instead of opening the phone and get in touch with a commercial unlocker service.

Unfortunately not, it stops at the second point and tells me that this is not connected to my mi account.

Wipe data and try again. What's the issue with "resolution of screen"?
Why would the wipe help? I guess all data is errased anyway because iIflashed a fastbootrom via mi flasher. The problem was that a portion of the program (mi flasher) was hidden, the part on the bottom where you choose which flashmethod. Therefore standard is lock device and that happened...

Just try to unlock bootloader again. If it is not possible, you have to contact with someone who has Xiaomi account authorization.
Yeah, like the s unlock service. I think their my last chance after reading through the internet. Not looking forward to open my phone. pfffff...

Is your device a Global or Chinese device and how long ago did you buy it and where from? If the bootloader was unlocked when you attempted to flash whatever you flashed then it was unlocked by someones account. Are you saying that you did not unlock it?
If you did unlock it yourself, then you can unbrick it. If someone else unlock the bootloader you should try contacting that person to get their id and password to unlock the device again, and then you can remove their account from the device and replace it with yours.

Since you have fastboot
You need to download the fastboot rom for whichever device you own. Also, your phone must be clean, you will lose all data.
Mi8 Global Rom: https://c.mi.com/oc/miuidownload/detail?device=1700346
Chinese Mi 8 Rom : http://www.miui.com/download-345.html
Unpack the Rom, on your desktop and then place your phone into EDL Mode or fastboot. - The fastboot Rom comes with the Fastboot flashall script, it will fully restore your phone to the a Stable Rom and Overwrite every partition..
If you unpack the rom and it unzips into a larger version of the rom, unpack the new unpacked larger version, it will unpack into a folder, inside the folder local the flashall.bat file and with the phone connected double click it and wait 5 to 10 minutes until it reboots by itself, you will see the screen to connect to wifi, and then to add you account credentials, enter credentials, enjoy your restored phone.

You don't, ( well not anymore) you only pay someone to unlock if you do not have your account bound to the device. The person that you would pay has a vendors master unlocking account, these are very limited and these people are mostly located in Russia and Vietnam.

Hi there,
that brings some light into the darkness, although I am did not completely understood all you wrote.
1. I bought the device used in Germany and it is the German version. It was unlocked and I installed Havoc OS which worked fine. Then I thought I should update Havoc OS and that'S what I did. This ended in a Bootloop. I went into the Recovery and it was kinda weird as it asked me in chinese to enter my pattern. I did and after that the touchscreen stopped working. Still could get into recovery and also install a new one via fastboot. But same problem. Then I googled and as I understood the solution to other people was an earlier MIUI ROM which I installed via the Mi Flash tool and here I am chosing the wrong selection for the flash and ending up in a brick.
2. I don't have the device connected to my MI account. So I guess I need someone with a vendor account? S Unlock also offers a software (one has still to pay) which works without the help of someone logging into and using e.g. Teamviewer. (at least that is their claim)
3. I cannot connect the device with MI flash and therefore no flash of a ROM is possible which brings me to
4. In any case, I for sure have to ****ing open the phone and play with the EDL Touchpoints? Right?
If one has any further ideas let me know, I am really fed up with this ****.

Okay that better explains your real issue
You had an issue with the lockscreen, which could had been resolved by removing encryption ( formatting user data ) by using ADB or using the Tool All in One. ) Unfortunately, you misunderstood what the issue was and flashed a rom without unchecking unlock bootloader.
Since the bootloader has been relocked, you may need the original account info that unlocked the bootloader. ( If it's still bound to the device) If possible contact the person that you bought the phone from and get their account, then you can use the steps that I listed above by placing the phone into EDL.
If you are asked for a Mi account password, after restoration, then the phone is absolutely still bound to the previous owners account.
You do not necessarily need to open the phone :
You can probably use ADB to place the phone into EDL mode : adb reboot edl
You can use an EDL cable Such as this one
On some phones it is possible to enter EDL by pressing and holding the power button and the volume up and down simultaneously, you can very that the phone is in EDL by connecting it to your PC then go to Control Panel/System/ports <<<< Here you will see port 9008, that means you are in EDL mode.
After installing fastboot rom via flash all.bat method
After connecting to WIFI, you may be asked for the Mi Cloud account (if linked) If so contact the previous owner for that account info, then once the phone has gone through setup, remove the account from the phone in settings/Backup ( It is also possible that the phone is not bound to a account) If no account is linked then you will be able to link a new account and then wait 72 to 360 hours to be able to re-unlock the bootloader.
If the phone is bound to a previous user,
The only option is to use a reputable service company who has a master unlock account. if this is indeed the case, you should try contact Xiaomi and see if they can recommend someplace close to where you live.
@berndbrecht
I just found out via the Mi-Globe website that a XDA member has an official Xiaomi Unlock account and the price is extremely fair: I would suggest contacting @NikSalsa
You can read the same article that I did here : https://mi-globe.com/unbrick-your-xiaomi-phone-without-authorized-mi-account/
Also, there are a couple of additional options listed , if you have trouble reaching NikSalsa

Cannot unlock bootloader - chinese error message

Hi,
I've bought the Mi 9T Pro on Amazon.
So far, everything works fine besides the fact that I get an error message in chinese while using the Mi flash unlocker to unlock the bootloader.
Mi account logged in. Since I don't have a nano-sim yet for my main number I've used my spare card to activate it.
Anyone fluent in chinese what might be missing here?
https://imgur.com/w1QJIoT
Best regards
Chris
The message says that the device has been locked via the MI find my device service. Is the number your account? If so, you will have to unlock your device first via find my device.

Oh someone can read it.
Any idea how or where I can remove that completely?
Edit: the number is not my primary under which I've registered my other Mi devices. But I've used it once to unlock my dad's Mi Mix 3, which is also registered with my Mi account.

If the displayed account is your account, you should be able to just head to i.mi.com and unblock your own device. If it's someone else's account number, that means someone has marked it stolen or otherwise locked.
Alright, after cutting my sim I continued. After updating the MiUi Flasher I get now errors in English.
New error: "Current account is not bound to this device. Enable it under dev options -> Mi Unlock status."
I did exactly that - I inserted the sim, went to this options, and ticked link to account. fter that I got a message "linked successfully". In fastboot mode in the flasher I get the same exact error again. The phone does not seem to be recognized by the Mi account and is thus not listed in the Mi cloud.
Any ideas what went wrong and how to fix it?

Log in to the Mi Flash Tool using the phone number of the SIM that's in the phone and was used to register the phone for unlocking (when you go to developer settings, unlock status)
This normally happens because the phone number wasn't registered on your Mi account before starting the unlock process.
That was the error, ty very much. I did always login with my email. After the phone number it did show a timer.
PS: a whole week now? No idea why they prolong it each time...
Mi 9t pro should be on global rom,why is the warning msg in Chinese?

Might have been due to an older version of the Mi flash tool. After I updated it, it was in english. Maybe the older version did not have support for the global Mi 9T and thought I have a chinese K20 Pro.

If the phone is not linked to a Xiaomi account this request will never arrive.
This case is frequent with a second-hand phone where the former owner forgot to delete it from his account.
This is one of the security in case of loss or theft of the device.

If you never set a security lock, like pin, gesture or fingerprint, there is a small chance to startup again.
Otherwise you can't startup without Mi Service.
If you wiped your data, everything is gone, but not the encryption, so Miui can't acces the data partition. You need to format the data partition for removing that encryption too.

thx for the reply any idea or tutorial to proceed ?
It's the security on the lock screen that encrypts the data.
By formatting the data you delete your data and the encryption but you will still have the unlock request at startup since the phone is linked to a Xiaomi account.
I think you are right. Even without some security lockoptions, you must pass always the lockscreen.
But I was under the assumption that you didn't need a Mi account for that.

Mi account sign up process always asks at least one way to verify your account, either it's a phone number or an active email.
Hard to believe just because you said it's "your phone". If it is, the linked mi account can be recovered either by email registered by it or a phone number used to verify the account. Unless both of your email and phone number is already inactive, it just makes the process longer, but still possible.
Reminds me of case of hardware dealer claimed Apple intentionally "lock" their laptops so that they cannot be resold. Whatever he claimed to be, either it's "donated, the owner didn't know", "bought at trusted refurbished reseller" -- when it's locked, it's hard to verify whether it was really donated or just "stolen". Some people would lie to meet their ends.
Do you have a custom recovery? If you have twrp or orangefox, then you can install a custom rom that is not miui and it doesn't ask you for a miui account.

For that you need a Mi account.

Retrieve photos from a phone stuck in bootloop

Hi guys!
I have the redmi k20 pro premium china rom, but its currently stuck in a bootloop so I cant get past the booting-up screen nor can i use the fastboot feature.
However, I still really want to get my photos from the phone, I don't have any cloud services connected.
I was wondering if there was any way to retrieve the photos since to get out of a bootloop I need to factory reset which will delete the memory.
Im willing to tear apart the phone however I doubt that will do anything?
Thanks in advance!!
(I wrote this question in the normal thread but found out there's a k20 specific one.)

Hey
Depending on what you did if your bootloader is unlocked you can use Mi Flash Tool and flash the Fastboot ROM if you can get to there. Just make sure to select Save user data. If you can't get into Fastboot Mode it is possible to get the Phone working anyway on another way but everything will be deleted.

When you turn on your phone, is there a lock sign? If yes it's unlocked and if no I don't know what to do because unlocking bootloader needs erasing everything. Maybe you can go to a repair shop which gives you somehow the photos back.

To unlock the Bootloader, the owner has to do procedures...
install tools, register account on the Xiaomi side, request unlocking, wait 7 days...
If you bought the phone from Xiaomi (not a second hand or from a reseller) and you are not familiar with all the above, then your BL is for sure locked
In Fastboot, run the command and it will tell you if the BL is locked or not:
fastboot oem device-info

I have the redmi k20 pro premium china rom, but its currently stuck in a bootloop so I cant get past the booting-up screen nor can i use the fastboot feature.
However, I still really want to get my photos from the phone, I don't have any cloud services connected.
I was wondering if there was any way to retrieve the photos since to get out of a bootloop I need to factory reset which will delete the memory.
Im willing to tear apart the phone however I doubt that will do anything?
Thanks in advance!!
(I wrote this question in the normal thread but found out there's a k20 specific one.)

This happened to me several times but luckily I used Magisk Unlimited Google Photos Storage Mod

Yes, but like I said it'll delete everything and the phone needs to be working to associate a Xiaomi Account via Mobile Data.

Of course it will delete
But I said, if you IN THE PAST did not unlock Bootloader and did not buy it from a previous owner or reseller who did unlock, then the Bootloader is for sure locked since Xiaomi sells the phones with locked Bootloaders
Besides, if you cannot boot to the System, you cannot initiate now the procedure to unlock the Bootloader

Yes. I guess his photos are gone. Anyway I'd recommend for any rooted phone (I know his isn't) to use the Unlimited Google Photos Magisk Module.

Photos can be also automatically stored to Mi Account
But most simply, from time to time, connect the phone to PC by USB cable and copy /DCIM/Camera folder to the PC
No need for unlocking Bootloader, no need for cloud accounts, etc

Mi Cloud has 15 GB and Magisk Mod gives you unlimited. That's why I mentioned it. But without doing anything like that, you're right.
So theres no way to retrieve it if the boot loader is locked?

I think not.

Question It is possible? (problem with MI Account)

Hello XDA friends, I have a problem regarding an MI account with a redmi note 11 (spes)...
It turns out that the phone belongs to a client (I'm a technician) and he asked me to recover his phone, the problem is that it is linked to a number that he lost in another country (Colombia) and well, I tried to flash and do a hard reset to your phone but it has the bootloader locked, and it turns out that to unlock it you also need the MI account, the most I can do is remove the account temporarily, but when you connect it to the internet again it links to the Xiaomi servers and it appears again which is blocked.
I can use the phone by ADB, Fastboot and Sideload mode without problem (although most limited commands), I tried to also flash the phone by EDL mode but I can't find the patched firehose.
Does anyone have an idea on how to delete or add a new account without having to connect the phone to the internet? As I told you, I can use the phone normally, only when I connect it to the internet, the blocked message appears in a matter of seconds or a minute , I don't have paid boxes or anything like that, I only use free stuff to work.
I would appreciate any hint or help, sorry for the English but I am using a translator, thank you very much!

I understand that you have to wait 7 days, the problem is that I can't wait that long since my client is not going to like it, so I don't know if there is a way to link the MI account to his new phone number in another way

Thanks for the help guys, but I've tried everything you've mentioned and I can't find the free firehose file anywhere either.
After many days of trying to remove the MI account, I have managed to at least suspend it and be able to use the phone without the annoying advertisement, for those who are interested in this information is gold:
1. Go to this video and download the tool: Edited by request of an administrator, {Mod edit. Oswald Boelcke, Senior Moderator}
2. Format the phone by sideload or any other method within your reach.
3. Open the tool, connect the phone in sideload mode and then select the Qualcomm tab, Xiaomi brand and the model of our beloved Redmi Note 11 (spes) and finally press the option "Disable Mi Cloud (sideload)" and that's it, the phone will be rebooted and the phone locked ad will never appear.
Note: By doing this process, you will never be able to link an MI account, since apparently the program changes the address of the Xiaomi servers, but the phone will work 100%.
Bonus: If you happen to want to use the phone temporarily, you can use this tool to disable the lock, but when you connect it to the internet it will lock again, good luck guys!

As I understand it, the mail is unknown and his phone number was lost.
In this part of the world where I live, these jobs are common, since they are ignorant people who do not know much about technology, so that they understand me, "farmers". And no, the phone is not stolen because it has the box with its IMEI.

Glad you got it working !
For me the best solution would have been to pay someone with an authorized account, flash by EDL, enter a new MI account and unlock the bootloader.
It turns out that the redmi note 11 does not have a recovery partition and since the bootloader is unlocked, the blocking of the MI account is irrelevant, it disappears with each rom flash

Yes, obviously I know that paying someone with an authorized account solves the problem in the blink of an eye, but the idea is not to spend a dollar just using free stuff.
In the same way, if someone needs the box, they can write to me privately since nothing can be mentioned about it by the rules, yes, I recommend using an old PC that does not mind losing information or something like that since the executable is apparently malicious .
