You can't OC it without root or without shortening the lifespan of the device. You can OC it using Konabess: https://github.com/libxzr/KonaBess

Returning back to Milestone

Hello guys...
It's been a while since my last post in Milestone section. My digitizer malfuntion n i've never touched it since then. Now my beloved Milestone is repaired, i would ask a few questions b4 i start catching up with roms.
1. How's Milestone's bootloader unlocking progress?
2. If the bootloader still locked, does the stock kernel support swap?
3. Is the really anyone still developing / updating roms on milestone currently?
4. When i used milestone back then, i need to edit 08overclock module to over/down clock my cpu, so do i still need to edit them manually now or i can just use setcpu/nofrills?
5. Does the V6 supercharger working for milestone? If it does, which version that u guys recommend?
Sorry if u find these questions annoying but there r too much junk threads n i already lost track of milestone's developements.
Thanx

I'll ask you.So:
1: i dont think it's something new there(i mean,it's no progress from last time you checked)
2: no,no support for swap so far.
3: yes. Kabaldan, vikasbn, iceandfire and quynhnt seems to work on miui optimizations for MM.
4: no need,just set from cyanogenmod settings(for cm6/7/9) or 3rd party apps
5: V6 works.i used latest version but now i dont use anymore.
If i'm wrong about something,im sorry, please correct me

[Q] Prime HD 9.0 Stock no overclock?

Hi, everyone I wold try to ask in development about this but I can`t post there since I`m a noob here, so here goes....
I installed Prime HD 9.0 (and the addon required for stock) I use stock kernel. The rom runs great . The only problem is that in cyanogen mod>performance i Try to change the frequency to higher than 600mhz and no options appear. So does anyone know why is that..?!
I tried to search for a similar question in the forum but nothing came up.
Don't ask questions in the dev section.
You need to install the overclock module to overclock.

Ok, thanks I taught it`s a bug (that`s why I`d post in dev) because the other roms I`ve tried came with overclock. But this one obviously is not like that.

All things Discussion - Help, Problems, Advice

I saw few general threads describing problems within them. This is development forum and only development should be posted here. As we are lacking other sections like Q/A forum, General forum, hence I created this thread which will be a all in one general thread. So now onwards don't create a thread for your problem, help or advice instead post within this thread.
Only we are supposed to keep our forum clean and tidy.
Let the discussions begin!
i just want to thank all the great developers we have for this device, without you i think we wouldn`t receive our own forum.
So hat off to you

I stopped using xda after seeing that my device is not present in it...before 3 months...
But now I opened it 2 days before and suddenly seen a separate section !!
Thanks for this section...:laugh::good:
I have a question. I noticed that when you want to root the device, the binary counter will increase, because you flash a kernel. In my galaxy tab 10.1, this can be avoided if you flash a custom recovery with odin and then use this to flash an update zip with root (the counter increases only when I flash a custom kernel). So the question is: As far as you know, does the counter increases only when you flash a kernel, or it will increase just by using odin? I plan to buy the device, and I don't want to be out of warranty in the first 1-2 months and I just can't live without root!

This device doesn't have a separate recovery partition!
So that cannot be done.

Thanks...I thought as much. That means that if I buy it, I will have to keep it stock at least until (if) there is a JB update. They separated the partition I think in ics onwards. Any chance the s2 jig woks?
Hey.
I've got one question: where I could found a local storage (internal memory (no sdcard)) in TWRP?
Is it possible to install *.zip without memory card? I can't found it.

I want to ask a question, when i dial *#0228# on keypad the battery window comes up, below that window there is a button "Quick Start". I want to ask that what this button do. Sometimes when i put my phone in charging and press this "Quick Start" button after like 30 to 40 min laterwhile the phone is in charging , suddenly my battery level rises up approximately 15-20%

modem partition
Does anyone know where modem.bin is located? Is it in a separate partition or just lying there in /system?
Hi!
I've a question about the CyanogenMod 7 porting...
Is possibile to flash it in the I9070P device?
If not, can you create a rom that work with the nfc version?
Thanks for the job!

I see.. Thanks.. But in my phone, there no InteractiveX, just Interactive.. Is it because i changed my kernel to CoCore?
By the way sir, may i get your seperated kernel for JetMOD? I would like to try your Kernel Changer tool..

Help! How to disassemble it??
Hi,
i would like to open my Samsung S Advance (it was really easy to open my normal Galaxy S) but i don't know how?
it looks very different compared to the Galaxy S1,S2,S3, so after removing the screws, i don't know how to continue.
i searched everywhere...google,bing,youtube etc. but i got no answer. maybe someone of you knows it? Feeling a bit desperate
If i follow the next steps:
1-Root using the new method that does not increase the binary
2-Install TWRP using the DD method
3-Instal JetMOD using TWRP
Would i increase my binary counter by installing the custom rom? i dont want to loose my warranty.

CM / OC

this may be a stupid ass question, but i've seen different things on google, are we able to install cyanogenmod on the n900a via safestrap? and if so how would i go about doing that, if not possible fjust say so don't flame, im familiar with rooting/roms just not with CM, and also how would i go about overclocking my n3.
We can't flash cm yet... Locked boot loader stops us

No overclocking either, but you can use apps like setcpu to set it to always run at max speed...it'll probably be h*** on your battery but you'll get a boost for sure
Thanks for the answers guys +thanks

Kernel recommendations?

Hey All, I'm new to Samsung Note 9 960f. I've been on Oneplus devices for thr last couple years with ease of root and ample kernel options. I've rooted my Note 9 with the stock OS. Now I'm looking for a decent kernel to go with the stock OS that can help with general tweaks. Any recommendations? Thanks!
Bump... Or in the Note 9 world people aren't really active on custom kernels?
Everyone has different preferences so there is no best...Take a look at the dev thread and try some custom stuff for yourself to see what works best for you.

I totally hear you, I was just asking for recommendations. I understand, in the kernel world there's no best. Just that I believe there's only one kernel listed & available in the exynos development thread Thanks!
BeastMode Kernel is a Beast!

well.. appart from tweaked kernels devs have cooked in their rom, on xda there is only one stand alone kernel you can flash.. so.. lol
guess its beast kernel ftw.

How it fairs compared to stock?
Also on the topic, it's a bit sad how dead the development section of note 9 is. Lack of ROMs and total lack of kernels and a lot of time passed from release.

Definitely nice so far. I've felt a slight snappiness over stock (could be placebo). Also I was experiencing random reboots once / twice a day until this morning (on stock). This kernel has been stable so far, hoping to not experience those anymore. Btw, I haven't tweaked anything on the kernel yet except for anabling double tap to wake.
And I hear you, the development on this device is fairly dull. I guess users are happy with the phone as is, but rooting for me is a mandatory exercise. I've moved from a Oneplus 6 which was one of the most vibrant development communities.
Experience has been good decent far, but ofcourse with the usual set of gripes of adjusting on 8.1 from 9, etc.
Thanks!
Quick question. How do you know which kernel will work?
Running Team Exy Kings, current baseband N960FXXU2ZRL6.
Tried Beast and it boot-looped. Although, I did flash the zip in recovery. Do I need to use Odin?
Been a long time since I last played around with Samsung's.
