Are you flashing the patched AP file in Odin?
You can also try flashing TWRP, then install Magisk in TWRP.

Thank you!! for replying to my issue. This is the Odin config with no device attached to USB, please see attached clip.
Thank you again, i am most appreciative, mark

Uh did you even unlock the bootloader yet because all US Samsung phones have locked bootloaders since the S7

Thank you!! for replying to my question(s). The device i am attempting to root, does not have the OEM unlock option; i have used several threads (instructions and firmware) to make the option available: e.g. change date, etc., and have used the following instruction(s) and firmware flash(s) below:

Note 9 - How to backup Knox and Orginal firmware?

Hello !
I have a problem, I used to root and use a non-original android's in my Note 9. I would like to restore the phone to its "original" state.
So that KNOX and S-Healt applications, Samsung Pass and others will work, how to do it?
I have already played the original android three times by ODIN, without success ...
Please help !!
The phone was bought in a subscription in Germany (exactly VODAFONE)

once rooted you can't restore the phone to before the root state. as in getting all those apps to function as before the root.

use samfirm 0.3.6 to download N960F firmware enter DBT as region
then when it finishes dl and decryption, unzip the file and load all 4 specific peices(bl,ap,cp,csc be sure to use csc.md5 for csc and not the home) into odin v 3.13.1
I feel that I should elaborate on what rooting does to a Samsung phone.
If the bootloader detects that the installed kernel or recovery is not properly signed by Samsung, the Knox bit is tripped (as in, changed from 0x0 to 0x1). This is a physical change in the chip - think of it as a fuse that's now blown. The change is permanent, and there's no way to reverse it without replacing the entire motherboard.
All of the features you mentioned check the Knox bit, and refuse to work if it's 0x1. Now, there are ways to get S Health working if you re-root, but if you plan to stay unrooted, I'm afraid those apps are gone forever.
I guess this goes to say that you should have done your research beforehand. Sorry mate.

Need Help Rooting my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge SM-G935T

Hey XDA Developers,
I’ve been trying to root my s7 edge on oreo 8.0.0 through odin and when I try to flash twrp on it, it says SECURE CHECK FAIL : recovery.
Tried downgrading and failed in that too , says SW REV Check Fail : [boot] Binary 11 Fused 4.
Please help me out experts!
Well, it seems like you're already on Binary 11 (BL11?) , I used https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/root-s7-s7-edge-unroot-easy-updated-02-09-2020.4048237/ step but it supported up to BL10 I guess which was what I have and it works flawlessly in minutes.

I assume that you're trying to root using engboot method. And you are on Bootloader 11. As per my knowledge, there's no engboot for Bootloader 11 till now. And there's no way to downgrade.
So you can't root it at the moment. You'll have to wait until engboot comes out for b11.
I'm having the exact same issue. I bought my phone unlocked and model SM-G935U. How do I check what BL I'm on?
Same errors during root attempts so seems to be on BL 11. Anyone know how to confirm this? Is the "Binary 11" in the error message a confirmation of BL 11? Any solution yet?
Any luck on rooting the stupid G935T (BL 11) ? or is it condemned for good?
Seeing as it's been a while, has anyone successfully got TWRP and therefore a nice custom ROM ?

Samsung Galaxy S6 EDGE Stock ROM & TWRP cannot be flashed with ODIN!

Hello XDA - Experts Team,
first of all, sorry for my bad English!
I have an older Samsung Galaxy S6 EDGE (SM-G925F) / original ROM - DBT (last OTA update) / no branding / without root, that until recently worked perfectly and never made any complaints ... at least until a few days ago while an APP installation (she probably destroyed something) and got stuck in the bootloop .....
First i deleted the cache in recovery mode (I didn't want WIPE, because of data loss) because I read here that I might be able to solve the problem this way, but it didn't work ... then I downloaded the file - G925FXXS6ETI6_G925FDBT6ETJ1_G925FXXU6ERF6_HOME. tar.md5 via SamFirm, and flashed it (according to XDA flashing Thread) with ODIN3 (3.14.4) in DownloadModus on Handy, the only stupid thing is that ODIN aborted / stopped in the Installation Process! Since then the phone only boots up to the Samsung logo, the recovery mode has disappeared and I only get into the download mode! : (((
When i trying to re-flash the firmware, now ODIN3 always stops at boot.img and aborts the process (see Figure 2) with FAIL (different ODIN versions tried, different USB cables / ports connected)!
I also read here in the forum that you could make a backup with TWRP (I took: twrp-3.3.1-0-zerolte.img.tar) to save/recovery my phone-data ... TWRP cannot be done with ODIN3 either play, the preview goes also until recovery.img and then breaks off, again and again with Fail!

Please Help! What am I doing wrong!?
I've already tried everything and can't get any further, I'm really slowly desperate ... I am mainly concerned with the data / pictures etc. that are on the phone, and hmmm unfortunately I don't have a backup of the data! You are my last resort, people!
Any advice from you would be great!
Greeting from Macedonia

S20 FE 5G still on android 11. Can I update without rooting the phone?

I've bought this phone second hand online a year ago and I thought since it's not declared as stolen on IMEI it would be fine.
From what a guy told me it's from france so it's probably connected to a carrier from there, but I haven't figured out how to check myself.
I'd like to know if there any way to get the update without breaking functionality of the phone, like google pay, bluetooth or other issues i've usually had with rooted phones in the past.

It's worth mentioning I tried updating using smart switch and it didn't work.
you can download firmware suitable for your location and flash it with Odin all without triggering Knox, you can even keep your apps but with such a big jump your cache will need wiping afterward from recovery.
if you look in settings / about phone / software info / service provider software version. you should see 3 letters being listed there 3 times. that your (current) CSC code, googling that will tell which network or country the phone is from. you also need to find out the CSC version you want to download for your country. don't pick a CSC for your network, pick for your country.
Looks like your carrier tag is SFR, so if you search for firmware with model: SM-G781B and country: SFR, you will find firmware for it with Android version 13.
You can use:
sammobile (slow),
[TOOL] SamFirm - Samsung firmware downloader & checker

I usually use: https://github.com/ivanmeler/SamFirm_Reborn/releases/tag/0.3.6.3
After you get firmware downloaded use Odin to install it. You can use this Medium article.
It is very simple to use tool. (In CSC field use HOME_CSC file to keep your data)
