Question Yellow tinted screen - Poco F5 Pro / Redmi K60 (China)

Hello,
I've recently received my Poco F5 Pro (12/256) ordered from Aliexpress, and comparing to my Poco F2 Pro, the screen seems to be yellowish (I've tried setting color temperature to Cold but it doesn't do much).
Anyone else is experiencing this?

Try vivid, default, adaptive color off.

The nature of QHD screen is yellowish. Full HD is bluest. There is nothing wrong

Yellow-ish screen

I just noticed that my Mi A2's screen is a bit yellow-ish than any phones that we have (S8, Redmi Note 5), which has blue-ish screen. Is it just my phone or should the Mi A2's screen be more blue-ish? Or is it a factory defect?
Night light is turned off.
I think it is your eyes defect. All screens should have a calibration near 6500k. Blue light damage your eyes.

My friends also noticed that my Mi A2 has warm screen color than his. I just bought the phone and I want to know if this is a factory defect so it can be replaced immediately.

Black smear

Hi! I'm facing an issue with my new K20 pro, I believe it is called black smear. It leaves blue trails when scrolling on partially black screen, like the notification panel in dark mode, and it is particularly evident when brightness is low. Am I the only one o is it a common problem on this type of phone?
Thanks!

I have the same "problem" as you, but i think is common on amoled panels because the leds turn off when is black so if you are doing faster movements the leds cant mantain the same speed as you so you see the trails. Another thing is that this dont affect videos because it generate first all the images so the phone can recognize which leds need to turn off and on
and do you can see the blue trails on max bright if you watch carefully? Because if i pay attention i can see a bit
This is why developers don't use pure black themes.
It's common, don't worry.
Still Amoled is far more better for me than LCDs.

My redmi k20 pro unit also suffers from this black smearing issue but it's not a common problem i just bought a Samsung galaxy m10s with super amoled display but it doesn't have any black smearing issue like Redmi k20 pro..

Anyone else facing a light yellowish tint on LCD

Anyone else facing a light yellowish tint on LCD on Nokia 7 plus. It is nearly unnoticeable until you place it next to another phone and compare. Phones like Samsung have colour temperature setting for this.

You sure night lighting is turned off?
Yes, our phone has a warmer screen if you compare it with anyother phone, prominently noticeable on white background while comparing

General Pink Tint Issue on S21U

Looks the S21 has it's first big issue. Pink hues when looking at it even from a slight angle.
issue discussed at 12:59
I have all three devices. No tinting issues as far as I can see on any of them. Guessing something was wrong with his demo unit.
Okay, that's encouraging. Thanks for your feedback.
i comfirm pink tint issues. i get new one s21 ultra to day and go crazy because of this bloblem. demo device at store have this too. I will return it maybe. so sad. sorry for my bad english.
Could be down to display mode being on Vivid?
Not sure if he's using that or natural?

Only when you look at the screen from an angle, right? No pink tint when you look straight on?

Add to that under what light source if any are you viewing it?
Does it happen on all display frequencies?
View under incandescent, sunlight backlighted or in a dark room.

Yes. Just slightly tilt it and the pink tint appear. S21 and S21 plus no problem. Just S21 ultra, due to it’s 2k 120hz panel i think. No problem with S21 and s21+ Full hd+ panel.

That's bizarre. May be a firmware issue for that variant or just a bad batch.
So much for Samsung QC...
Sounds like the red gamma is off.
Looks to me like a rainbow effect on mine as I can see other colours in the band when i move the phone - its probably just the screen protector IMO
what is the software version on your s21? (settings - about - software info - last 3 baseband)
i have AUA3, and dont have any pink tint...
Pretty sure this is going to be a hardware flaw present in ALL S21 Ultra models and is either due to LTPO display they are using or the Victus glass. Note 20 Ultra has a similar problem where you get dirty whites when compared to Note 20 which has perfect whites.
Software version AUA3 here. Pink tint very noticeable. US version.
Same. I'm really disappointed. Got an Tab S7+, Tab S7, Watch3, and Buds Pro with the S21 Ultra 512GB... came to $1728 after tax and trading in my s20 ultra with combo savings.
Only thing keeping me from sending the S21 Ultra back right now.

Other than that, the screen is amazing! I hope a future firmware update resolves the issue.
Got my s21 ultra today and there's a slight pink tint but it doesn't bother me, in fact I find it's much much better than my OnePlus 8pro which is a mess Have a look at the difference... The s21 ultra looks better in real life but the green tint on the 8pro is very visible in the dark. I had two and I sent the first back because of the green tint and the 2nd was exactly the same. I find the ultra display ahead of the 8pro.
Really makes you think about reviewer integrity. I watched 6 reviews before pre-ordering, all of them raved about the camera and display, but never mentioned the color shift off axis.
The S20 Ultra screen is fabulous and noticeably better. Never noticed any color shift. Instantly noticed it on the S21 Ultra.

Question Slight red/pink tint?

In low or dark ambient light the screen seems to have a pinkish or red tint when viewing the panel to the side. I don't remember seeing this on the N20U. Anyone else?
Very common in phones in the past year. Either green or red tint in low light. My 8pro has a green tint at low light levels and there's many reports from many makes and models of phones of this.
So probably normal. Just didn't seem to be a bright or white as the Note 20U.

Im not sure it's "normal" more that there's something going on with the latest Samsung panels. Is the N20U 120hz? I think it's something to do with the refresh rates because OLED TVs suffer from "raised blacks" at 120hz. I think high refresh rates mess up gamma levels in OLED.
Yes the Note was 120 but not qhd
Do you have a screen protector installed? it could make this tints worse, also don't forget this issue is only with "cheaper" displays, i don't think Samsung uses that kind of "cheaper" displays in flagships!
I did remove the factory protector and it did seem to make the panel slightly brighter. The pink only shows up in low ambient light with the screen at100% and really only then if viewing it at an angle. It's slight but haven't seen this on the Note 10, Note 20 or s20.
Are you using 120hz? On the note 20 ultra this cause slight colour shifts...
Yes 120 and qhd although not at the same time on the Note.
I don't see pink tint in my s21 ultra.
Exynos version
How does the white balance in a dark room with the screen cranked up seem? Warm or cool? It's not as bright as the Note so maybe that's what I'm picking up on.

This is the reason... Sadly every device with 120hz has either red or green tint issue :/
Well that is unfortunate then.
Yes to pink tint! Exynos
no pink for me USA model snapdragon
Same Pink tint problem. Exynos. Don’t need 100% brightness. Just at white screen and slightly tilt it. And pink tint appear.
Same as 13:20s in this video
So it sounds like it might be normal for these panels then and the 120 hz as mentioned above
I just turned the white balance one notch to cool and it seems to eliminate the pink and then into the advanced and then the red down a bit
